This is a new restaurant that took the place of the Riverside Cookery in Tropicana's pavilion. For dinner there, I had an order of Spaghetti and Meatballs, a side of Garlic Knots and a side salad without dressing. The salad was well enough as it could be. I tried to trade it out for the Knots, but that wasn't possible. The Knots themselves consisted of bread that was just cooked enough to solidify, then bathed in oil and light garlic and sent out. The worst part however was the main course. The Meatballs had nearly no taste to them and were of an odd consistency that I had to force down to eat. I only got half of one down and the other I left on the plate as well. The pasta was okay. I had been asked to try the pizza by the person that seated me, then was told by my server that they had run out of sausage. I will try again for the pizza, but won't touch the pasta or meatballs again there. It was a waste of 20$ on that visit.

This place looked good and I'd wanted to give it some time to "get settled in" before I tried it. Price was right. Pasta and salad $10.95 plus tax & tip.. Salad was good but no breadstick with the salad. Pasta was not so great. Al Dente doesn't mean you leave it setting in a pot of water all day long. I had the Mostaccioli with tomato sauce and sausage. Sausage was ground beef with no flavor. Tomato sauce was flat bland. Pasta was topped with a soft melted cheese sheet (parmasian?). Someone needs to tell the cook that mostaccioli is finished in a broiler, not an oven. It should be lightly toasted with shredded or grated parmasian on the top. One factory made breadstick with the entree. Better food at Fazoli's. Someone please take the cook to DeLegge's so he/she can see, and taste, how mostaccioli should be prepared. Service was adequate. With food like this it won't be long before it joins it's locale predecessors, Corky's and others, in the great kitchen in the sky. I don't understand why the boat has such a hard time filling this spot with a GOOD restaurant. It seems that everything that opens here looks good but is nothing to write home about. Is the overhead so high that corners have to be cut?

The best margarita pizza I've ever had. Delicious cheesy garlic bread and two delighting cannoli. Prices are very reasonable and service was very friendly.

My meal started out promising as the fritto misto was pretty tasty if a bit overcooked. However one bite of my mushroom ravioli was all I could take. It was horrible as if the mushrooms had gone bad. I had my friend give it a try just to make sure it wasn't just me but he agreed it was awful. I told my waitress and she offered to get me something else but when I asked for the prosciutto panini she said they were out of prosciutto. So I then asked for the Tuscan chicken panini. It took them quite a while to get it out to me. It was huge, like 3 meals worth. The fries were really good though. So, all the fried stuff was good, the panini ok and the mushroom ravioli awful. The service was fine although it appeared there was only one waitress for the whole place. I have read that the pizza is good but I don't think I will go back to try it based on this experience.

Good calamari. While I did not have the pizza I heard several people say good things about it.

This is probably more like a 3.5 star restaurant. The pizza is good...authentic NY deep dish. Try the cheesy bread...delish. Atmosphere just ok. Prices are more then fair. Like coming here, because it is close to the TROP Casino boat. Great place for a weekend date.

I ordered the pepperoni & sausage calzone which was a great choice. It did not come with tomato sauce, but upon request I received a small dish of piping hot sauce for dipping - - - that pushed me over the top. This was one of the best calzones I have ever eaten - - - really great. Unfortunately, the service was slow and inept. Conclusion, 5-star cuisine with 3-star service, but great food trumps poor service in my view.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
