Very disappointed. A friend wanted to go to dinner here tonight. While waiting for our friend to arrive we put our order in, and asked that it not be processed until our friend got there so we could all eat together. Before our friend arrived, the food did. I was irritated from this, as that's not much of a way to eat with a friend, but on top of that our waiter never came back to fill our drinks or see how we were doing. This place has really gone down hill. Go somewhere else if you want to have a good experience.

I have been here twice. Excellent food both times. I always order shrimp on the beach with chicken added. Really inexpensive drink prices as well. Service on my first visit our waiter was rude and could care less about serving us. Second go around our waiter was very friendly and very personable. Overall Los Bravos is a very clean restaurant with great food and hit or miss service.

Wow!!! Well worth the trip. El Chihuahua plate was out of this world. Wanted authentic Mexican food and certainly got it. Amazing!!!

The food is very average-there are definitely better "authentic" mexican restaurants in town. The service is okay, but if they make a mistake with your order you may be waiting 10 min. or more before the server returns to your table. The main problem I have with this location is the noise level. There are always tons of screaming kids here, and the sound echoes throughout the restaurant, and is almost unbearable.

We've dined out for Mexican from L.A. to San Antonio to N.Y.C. and this is one of our favorites for selections, mid-level spice and in the new location: comfort without being crowded. Yes the salsa provided is on the mild side, but the table side prepared guacamole and the sauces served with the shrimp tacos, you'll get a mild tingle. We come to Evansville for dog shows a few times a year and in our opinion this is the best local Mexican and near the top of our list of places to dine.

Los Bravos always has a good crowd. I haven't quite figured out why. My husband and I stopped by late Saturday afternoon and as usual, they were crowded. We did get a table right away though. Chips and salsa were brought out fast. They were standard chips, nothing special. I ordered an enchilada platter. I asked for the enchiladas to be chicken and for it to be topped with cheese sauce instead of the red sauce. Service was fast however, I got 2 cheese enchiladas. I called the waiter over and told him I ordered chicken with cheese sauce. When he brought my plate back I had 2 chicken enchiladas with red sauce. He sat down the plate and walked away. At that point, I wasn't going to send it back a second time. It was just ok. My husband did say his food was good. I don't know that I would go back.

I have always liked the food and service. Affordable and good. Our server was very polite and fast. The chips and salsa are the best in town. I like how they accommodate us when we alter our order from what is on the menu. They are always good about leaving out tomatoes when we ask them to since one of our children does not like them. One of our favorite places to eat lunch.

Food was ok I got the burrito grande and a margarita cost $15.00. Service was excellent and fast. Nice atmosphere clean place. Don't go out of your way for it, just ok in my opinion.

Terrible service. Food tasted ok but horrible presentation. All plates looked like diarrhea.

The waitress was terrible, the beans were bad, the chimichanga was eh and the idiots next to us wouldn't shut up about the "marijuana smoking mayor of Toronto." Go to the North or West side location. I give them no points and may God have mercy on their souls.

Got take out from here one night. The queso that they have is pretty good. Nice and spicy too. The tacos weren't that great. The shells were kind of soggy, but they may have been due to me getting takeout and not eating them for a good 20 minutes.

This is an inexpensive and fun Mexican restaurant that serves reliable versions of northern Mexican classics. It is exactly like being in a nice, family-run restaurant in Chihuahua, Ciudad Juarez, or Nuevo Laredo. The food is simple, but good. All the grilled dishes are delicious (especially the Pollo Juarez), and they are now serving some interesting seafood dishes from other parts of Mexico. Request the tableside-made guacamole, because the regular guacamole is pureed. They serve a good range of Mexican beers. The service is prompt and efficient, but there are a lot of families and children, so it can get a little noisy.

I will NEVER go back to Los Bravos again. I've lived in some of the rudest cities in this country, but I've never been treated so ugly by staff as I was my last visit to this restaurant. I ordered a chalupa that came out soggy and cold. After 3 different attempts to explain to our server (who could barely speak English), that the tostada shell should be crispy I had the manager come over only for him to explain that their chalupas are always soggy. I explained to him that we frequent this restaurant at least once a week and have had crispy chalupas before. He continued to argue with me and tell me how wrong I was. To make a long story short, we ended up walking out with aforementioned manager in tow yelling, yes yelling, at us in the parking lot how wrong we were about their food. If he had made 2 more steps toward our car, I would have called the police. He was THAT aggressive.

This is a very popular place in Evansville, but the food is just average. Having lived in San Diego for 15 yrs I'm a bit more discriminating with my Mexican food than the average Midwesterner. I think the draw of this place is the festive atmosphere and it is very affordable. Without liquor, you can easily get by on $10 here. Their Salsa is great, but the guacamole not so much. The burrito I ordered was small and average....I tasted a chimichanga and it wasn't too bad. If you are just looking to get together with friends for a quick dinner and have a few beers inexpensively, this is a good place to go.

I love Los Bravos. It's great for dining in or carry-out. The queso is fantastic. Its smooth, spicy, and just amazing. The salsa changes daily. Sometimes it's sweet, and sometimes it's really spicy...always good, but unpredictable. I love #26 Chicken Chimichanga (all rice no beans) or #53 Fajita Quesadilla with Chicken,I'm also a fan of "chicken nachos" and "chicken quesadilla" which which are ala carte items. If you opt for water, you will easily get out for under $10, but they have pretty good Mountain Dew (no Taco Bell Mountain Dew, but still good none the less).

We love this place! It's our place to go for dinner every Friday night. My mother in law is from Mexico and the food here is as close to her cooking as we've ever had. My husband loves everything here, but especially the spanish rice. I have to say the chimichangas, chile poblanos, and the chicken or steak tacos are the best around. Ohhhhh and the margarita's! Mmmmm best I have ever had ANYWHERE! The staff are always fast and friendly! Not bad on the pricing either!

A year ago I informed my family that not another dollar of mine would be spent here and I am happy that I can say that I have kept my word. We were going here an average of two times a week. When my daughter had called in an order and picked it up, took it all the way home, (approximately 15 min drive, one-way), and they had shorted the order, I offered to go by there my way home to pick up the missing items. When I got there they didn't have it ready, so I ordered the taco and one other item (total was less than ten dollars, but total order was about sixty), they wanted me to show them the receipt so I explained that they weren't going to drive all the way back into town. Finally, I just told them I would pay for it if they would just get it ready. There was an older man at the cash register and he kept talking Mexican to all the servers and then they were all stopping and looking at me to the point that it was obvious that he was talking about me. So, I just told him to keep the food and the money and walked out, never to pass through their doors again! They were VERY rude! Thank goodness we have two awesome alternatives for Mexican food in Newburgh! Just had some tonight! Yummy! ;)

The food is pretty good but not very authentic and the service isn't very good at all.

They were EXTREMELY rude to us before they messed up both of our orders then they never even came back to refill our drinks. They never brought our check to pay so I went to the counter and the manager never even spoke to me (He was on the phone speaking Spanish to what I presume was one of his buddies) then the waiter finally brought our check and he didn't say one word either. I paid in cash and left. NEVER use a credit card there because both my dad and best friends had their credit card info (Heritage Federal Credit Union) used in Mexico and both my dad and best friend were still I'm possession of their credit cards! There was an article in the Courier and Press just days later about many people having their credit info stolen at a local restaurant just days later! Avoid Los Bravos and if you do go, pleas pay cash!

I love this place, and am often here with my friends and family. They are extremely efficient and fast--if I'm in a big hurry, I could even eat there in 20 minutes (though I nearly always take longer--why rush?) I've never had a wrong order. I love their lunch Quesadilla Supreme, and #29 (burrito supreme), and they have positively delicious fajitas! But then again, what isn't good? Enchiladas especially! I haven't had, but have heard their margaritas are by far the best in town.

After a funky smell as I walked in the door (read: stale urine on the side of a building), I think I got my weekly salt intake in about three bites here. And nacho cheese? Seriously? This place wasn't the worst Mexican food I've ever had, but it definitely ranked below mediocre and you won't catch me setting foot in here again since the Mexican I can make at home is sooo much better. On the up-side, their décor is really cute, so they score an extra star for that.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
