Used to be much better, but still great Mexican food. This location is also better than others in the tri-state area.

Decent Mexican food. Everything was just OK, nothing was extremely impressive but at the same time nothing truly disappointed. I had the "Famous" Wet Burrito assuming that it would be the best thing on the menu. There was nothing special about this and it left me wanting to have ordered the Flautas. The only thing that disappointed was their lack of Dos Equis. If you are in the area it is not a bad choice, but Los Bravos is a better option for Mexican in Evansville.

I am completely underwhelmed by this Evansville "tradition." The wait for a table wasn't very long for a Saturday night so that was a plus. The service was slow, but not unreasonably so. We were never asked for refills on our drinks, however. After waiting for what must've been 20 minutes for our food, it came out merely warm. Not how you'd expect fajitas and steak to be served. We were hungry so we ate. The food was bland and as uninspiring as the faux-mission style atmosphere. Another plus: the menu was well done. You can tell a lot of effort and money went into it. Too bad it doesn't accurately reflect the appearance and quality of the food being served.

Greeters were leaning up against the wall with their arms crossed looking like their dog had just died when we came in. Waitress Agnus was MIA for probably 30 min, leaving our almost $6 queso we paid for to go cold because we didn't have any chips. Terrible service for a mediocre restaurant to begin with.

Mediocre at best. The food was soo marginal. The beef and cheese nachos were made with cheddar cheese, huh? We have had way better fish tacos. The entrees did not come as complete meals with beans and rice. I do not recommend when in Evansville, IN. The margarita was weak and we ordered it with top shelf tequila.

I thought I was stepping into McDonald's at first, the employees are...I figured the food must be good if everyone around me was 'healthy'. I had been here many times before when I used to live here and found the food pretty good, it's nothing exceptional or authentic. I was disappointed in the salsa though. I recall it being the main draw for me in previous visits but this time I thought it was pretty bland. I have definitely had better.

This is a decent place for lunch. Not exactly Mexican food but some things they have are good. Their taco salad is great but only because of the homemade ranch that they serve. Most food here is kind of bland, but it's a great place for appetizers and margaritas!! Sit on the open patio and chill out with friends. Just don't expect the best food!

If you're looking for decent Tex Mex in Evansville (yes, not Mexican - but none of them here are) this could be okay, but don't count on the service to treat you well. Most of them don't even know what you're ordering if you pronounce it correctly (my partner had to say "Two X's" because they didn't understand Dos Equis) and most of them are grumpy.

This restaurant is more Tex-Mex than real Mexican. The beef chimichanga I got was marginal. It was just roast beef in a fried tortilla. The salsa had no heat...it was more like tomato paste. The only reason I didn't give it just one star is because my orange margarita was pretty freaking awesome. It tasted like a melted, spiked Dreamsicle.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
