Decor is simple, homey and not fussy. The full bar and simple wine selection is just enough without being too much. Our waitress was Jennifer, she was super knowledgeable about the menu and even explained that the Cesar salad was a bit different and made sure we got what we wanted. Substitutions were no problem. Meatballs were yummy and filling. The pistachio/chocolate/cherry combo ice cream with the funny name was delicious. Price point was great, two adults ate well with one appetizer, wine and dessert for under 80 bucks !! Go eat here, you won't be disappointed!

You can't go wrong with Michaels. Everything is as good as it has always been and the service was outstanding as it was 20 years ago.

Classic Italian food and friendly staff...a longtime fixture in Elkhart and a real gem. I've eaten here since I was a kid and it's been consistently good throughout the years. I've never felt it was money wasted. I recently had the prime rib and it fell just a "little" short of ones I have had in the past, but it was tasty nonetheless. I've had cuts that have been a little off everywhere from time to time, when it comes to prime rib... it happens with this kind of beef. Just a little too much sinew and gristle, but again... not uncommon. The family atmosphere here is wonderful. The cheese spread for the crackers is remarkable! we love it. the bloody mary's are great too.

Michael's is right next to my workplace which is great because this will definitely become my new regular lunch spot. Have gone twice and thew first thing that impressed me was the speed of service. We were sat and waited on within 5 minutes of arriving. Food was fantastic as well, at a price that I would dare to say is a steal. A friendly staff and warm atmosphere are just icing on the cake. 10 out of 10, will do business again

We ate there on February 15th, we had just a short wait and were seated. It took over an hour for the waitress to come back and tell me they were all out of the meal I had ordered. It then took another hour for us to get our food. Waitress did not seem to be to concerned and had what I would consider a bad attitude. No complaints on the food, it was hot and very good. Neighborhood is not the best either. I would be hesitant to eat there again. Jeff Baltes 260-350-9002 Elkhart, IN

I finally made it there after wanting to check it out of over four years. Well, the service was one of the best features of this local, family owned and operated establishment. The pizza was really good, I thought the cheese was the best part, besides the thin, hand-tossed crust. Tried the cheese and crackers- definitely a fan favorite, as the server recommended it right away. They have all the Italian favorites- including Spumoni for dessert. I would eat there again.

Pizza has a great crispy crust and very flavorable sauce. Stay clear of the eggplant Parmesan it looked like six heavily crusted hockey pucks it was so bad I couldn't eat it and the great waitress discounted my order.

Good sandwich, nice people and a good bar...if you're in the area, trust me, its the best around. Grab the italian sub and a beer, sit at the bar and get top notch treatment and watch a little sportscenter on the flatscreen...its a good way to spend some time if you find yourself in elkhart.

Michael's is an Italian restaurant from the food right down to Dean Martin crooning "That's Amore." They do a decent lunch business and recognize that people have to return to work on time. The evenings are a different matter. The service, while attentive and competent, tends to run on the slow side. If you're in a hurry you might make a different choice, but if you're in the mood for fine food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, good music and good service, then Michael's is a good choice. Have the cheese and crackers for an appetizer; you won't regret it.

Wonderful evening last night at Michael's! The food and service are always exceptional and the place was buzzing last night full of locals. Michael's has been a long time local favorite and the tradition continues.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
