I'm giving 3 stars bc I like to go here for breakfast but dinner leaves something to be desired. The meatloaf came out cool. The mashed potatoes weren't that good or that warm. The Mac & cheese is pretty good and the chicken & dumplings were good. Service was good. Corn muffins weren't lacking. I love the shopping part of the place :)

Came here for breakfast with family, the shop is so cute with tons of little things I'd love to buy. The blueberry pancakes were amazing, though every few bites it tasted like cheese and onions. I figured they probably didn't wipe the grill off good enough or were cooking right near something like that, otherwise I would have given five stars. Will be bringing the kids back with us next time.

The Cracker Barrel chain? Every restaurant, no matter where located, is decorated the same. My husband wanted to eat here. I was tired and not sure of what to eat so I went with chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised, (French fries as my side, I wish I got the chicken noodle soup instead). I loved the chicken salad, served on a roll with pickles, a large slice of juicy tomato and a big lettuce leaf. Couldn't finish the fries but I sure finished the chicken salad and I believe this is my new "go to" dish when I go to Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was excellent and deserved a great tip! However, there were at least two incidents of a waitress dropping dishes behind us in another section (she must have been new)......

Waited for almost 2 hours for breakfast foods. Waiter completely forgot to give kitchen our order. Was offered free biscuits by manager when this was caught but they never came. Pancake was burnt black and had to send back making us wait more. Was offered free dessert but the cake was chewy. Did not offer any discount. Will never go back to this location again.

Thank you to our server for helping to order Passover-friendly, vegetarian dinners. The lemon-pepper trout trumped. Best sides were hash brown casserole and sweet carrots; too bad the cabbage and greens both had meat.

Veeeeeeeery sloooooooooow... My family and I love Cracker Barrel and will frequently stop there to eat on drives across country. Most of them I would rate at 3-stars for A-OK / no complaints. This location gets downgraded a star because the place was half empty yet the service was extremely slow. I think we normally average 30 minutes for a roadside meal, and this took like an hour and a half, and there were looooong stretches of us sitting there waiting and wondering what the heck was going on. We kept asking our waiter when he walked by and he said it would be "right out."

It was pretty full for dinner but service was still adequate. Food was delicious as usual-especially the new blondie dessert. Received corn bread and biscuits without a problem. Will return!

My experience was lazy, we got over there. We were forced to sit next to people we didn't know and put their belongings on our table and chairs! Countless waitresses walked by over and over and didn't even bother to wait on us! I am deeply irritated by the lack of consideration at all! If I could I would give them a minus *****-5 we didn't even get water! We left in disgust! !!!!!

Typically standard and consistent food quality. However, the service staff was especially warm and friendly. As always, it's fun to walk around the store section browsing the eclectic assortment of candy, toys and other fun items.

Very slow service. I wish they would hire more cooks . The food hopefully is good. Still waiting!

You just can't beat their breakfast. I try to stay local when possible, but Damn! Cracker Barrel has my number. Consistent food and great atmosphere. Pecan Pancakes that will knock your socks off too! I'm glad I live right down the street too!

Cracker Barrel is a great breakfast place. Yum! The service that we received from Andrea was nothing short of stellar. The food, well its speaks for itself...but I'm not a huge fan of the lunch and dinner. It's a well run chain restaurant.

Doesn't serve lunch in the morning like other Cracker Barrels. Server did not bring obligatory cornbread and biscuits like other Cracker Barrels. Is located behind a toll booth if you're coming off the interstate. Avoid if possible.

An average restaurant. The food a bit bland. **I edited my review after the last review reminded me about the complimentary cornbread! I totally forgot that! They are supposed to serve it to you before a meal, and I remember thinking that when I was there but thought maybe I was thinking wrong. SERVE THE CORNBREAD.

Good old franchise with hearty American food, home-style, with great corn bread. It's not a memorable experience, but if you want a big meal, and you're dragging a whole group along with you, just drop in here. Hoosier hospitality can also be found here, usually.

I have had lunch and dinner at Cracker Barrel but never had breakfast there so I was kind of excited for some good breakfast! I must say, I got alot of food for $8. I wouldn't say that it was the best I have ever had and that I would crave it because I could live without it but it was good. The staff was very nice and made sure we had drink refills and such.

This is an ideal place to go for brunch after your Klan rally, gay-bashing, or anti-abortion protest with the local Fred Phelps supporters. It's also a very popular alternative if you are a veteran of the War of Northern Aggression. Spend your money at a chain, where it will all leave the area and make no local economic impact, and then loudly blame the total shithole recession in Elkhart on racial minorities. Oh don't worry, your hard-earned money is going toward illegal campaign contributions to Tom Delay. (Look it up.) I don't care how good or bad their food is - I simply can't wrap my head around this old country hillbilly thing that's so popular at places like this. Slapping some raw wooden planks on the walls and selling some "handmade" trinkets in a store (handmade in China, probably) doesn't make me run to the car and hit the highway. Maybe that's why I had to leave Elkhart when I graduated. Maybe everyone who reads this will think I'm a left-wing, blue-state, liberal elitist fuck, but I'd rather spend my entire 401K at Wal-Mart than give this place a dollar of my cash.

Cracker Barrel Restaurant is a good dinner for anyone who eats out at least a few times per month and is not a food snob. Why? They make a lot of the food right after you order it, so it takes a little while to get to you. It's country cooking, tastes like it, and gets served like it (big portions; don't plan to stick with any "diet"). Only item on the menu that I will pass on every time is the corn muffins - nothing stands out about them. Menu aspects that keep me coming back - great deals such as several entree choices with two sides and biscuits for under $8 before tax and tip; sweet tea with real juices added for fun flavors; desserts with some character; you can eat like you're in the south without having to travel there. As a "mixed race couple" or however you might call it, we felt no discrimination or noticeable poor attitudes towards us. Staff were of a few different races too. Last two sentences are in response to one review seeming to imply that the restaurant is backwards. Room for improvement: our waitress was average at best and I was calculating 15% as exactly as I could for my tip to send that message. Bussing of the tables is poor - crumbs, and some times chunks of things, on the table tops and around the bases. If you don't mind clearing a little bit on your own, you can still enjoy yourself. If you didn't know it, the tables have kerosene lamps on them at night. They produce nice light and noticeable but gentle heat within a few inches of the glass around the flame.

My friend and I needed some good comfort food after visiting a scary psychic in Elkhart. This place delivers. I had the meatloaf and it was a nice thick slab.. very nice and pretty good. I don't care if it's a chain! SNOB!! Oh yeah when you first walk in, you go through their little gift shop with cool candy. I've only been to one Cracker Barrel meaning this one so I don't know if it's the same layout with all locations but I thought it was cute in a down homey kinda way. One of the better chains I've eaten compared to the other dankity ass places around these parts. I think I may have eaten at all chains that exist good ole Indiana and I'm sick of eating at Chili's and TGI Fridays and fast food!! No wonder all of you are obese... shit. Also to the other reviewer talking about the KKK, My friend is mexican and I'm vietnamese- we were treated fine and did not feel uncomfortable in this restaurant nor the town of Elkhart. Have a great day!!
