Went here last night with relatives from out of town. I ordered the featured pork, and my cousin and her husband, a pizza. The service was very nice, and the food was wonderful. I might suggest that when offering the dessert, the server might suggest a dessert to go, since we were somewhat satiated and were not ready for dessert. But, when we got home, we wished we had that dessert! It is, as we call it in our business, "add on sales."

Hi, I was on a traveling Respiratory Therapy assignment at Elkhart General Hospital and had numerous times to dine there. The time that sticks out in my mind was when feeling rather loney (being thousands of miles from loved ones does that) I stopped in. I dined alone - the meal was superb - I was invited over to the owners table and spent the rest of the evening enjoying special foods, wines, and the warm friendship of new friends. GO! EAT! DRINK! ENJOY!!!

It's always good food at Lucchese's. The regular menu is great but some of the specials are out of this world so make sure to try them. During the week there are always special priced menu selections that are as great a treat as they are value.

Best Italian I have ever had in my entire life. Trying places across the nation and always left with the feeling I can cook better at home, Lucchese's makes food I would never dare to attempt. Everything perfectly cooked with perfect blends of unique items on the menu. Desert is one of the best parts so don't stuff yourself too much before saving room. Never had a bad meal here

Enjoyable atmosphere, good service and delicious food. Presentation and taste of the food was excellent. The only improvement I would suggest is unlimited bread (which was not available during my visit as the bread baker was on vacation) and serving the bread warm.

Never ate here, but I've heard good things... Was using the app to check out nearby places and thought it was worth pointing out that you may want to change picture number two... The ceiling tiles do not look very appealing.

I absolutely love this place! Came in for an appetizer and a glass of wine between work and home. wine selection is great. Had the crab stuffed portabella. crab meat was delicious and had some heat I didn't expect which was great! Could have done without the balsamic drizzle that did not compliment the heat of the crab and the fresh mozzarella meated on top (which was awesome) but the idea was nice. lol will aways love this place!!

Great authentic restaurant. Free bread with out of this world dipping spice with Olive oil. Everything was above par.... This is not a chain Italian place. It's the real deal. Leaving satisfied and full! Got to stop here if you have the chance. You won't be disappointed.

Love the food and the free bread with EVOO and spices is my jam. My only complaint: Tighten the bolts on the dang chairs. I always feel like they are going to collapse.

Was there 4/9/15 had great service and one of the best 18" pizzas I ever had. The ambience is inviting and clean. I will be returning in the future.

To me, one dish for summer sticks out here. The chicken linguine pasta salad. House made garlic linguine. Warm grilled chicken. House made poppy seed dressing and cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce. The perfect salad/dinner for a summer evening. The bread and dipping sauce is great, and other pasta dishes, chicken and veal dishes are good- but try the grilled chicken linguine salad.

I made a reservation online and got a confirmation email for a very important dinner. We got there and were told that they didn't have the reservation as their internet had gone down. They were able to get a table around for us in about 10 minutes despite numerous empty areas in the restaurant. Service was slow and sub-par, I'd expect more for the cost. Food was good but you could tell it had been sitting awhile as the top was cool.

We will not go back. The seats of the booths were broken and we were practically sitting with our chins on the table. One member of our party got a backache from just sitting there. It was so dark inside, everyone in our party had a hard time reading the menus. We waited 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table to greet us, take our drink order... anything! Then we had to ask a passing bus boy to please get us a waitress. Our food was awful. Bland, lukewarm, and not even a nice presentation. We ordered a piece of pie which was amazing, but when the bill came, we saw that it was $9.00 for the one piece of pie! The staff seemed nice and I actually felt sorry for them, that they worked in such a miserable restaurant. It's a good thing we were with wonderful friends or the evening would have been a total bust.

"My sister and her husband suggested we eat at Lucchese's on Saturday evening. We are from Houston and had not eaten there before. We did not have a reservation and we were seated in a very short length of time. Our server was fantastic and the food was excellent. We sat in the bar before our table was ready. Very pleasant in the bar area. I ordered the filet and my steak was cooked to perfection. Each of us at the table ordered something different and we all enjoyed our food. We also enjoyed the break basket with the spices they brought to our table prior to ordering our food. We can't wait to the next time we are in town to eat at Lucchese's!

Went for lunch today. Nice location and based on the reviews, gave it a try. The soup was pretty good, wedding soup and the special. The rest of the meal, pasta and shaved beef sandwich was just ok.

The service was slow but the waitress was very nice. It may have been that she had to deal with too many customers. The bread was good, the bella bella shrimp was outstanding. We had the veal Lucchese and Chicken Parm which were very appetizing. I even had dessert and it was nice as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone searching for good Italian food in Elkhart.

Love love love! Great service, fantastic food. Can't really go wrong with the menu. The price is pretty decent, the bread is fabulous. I would definitely recommend if you're wondering where to eat.

Terrific, well-crafted food in a lovely atmosphere for a decent price. The bread basket comes with a little dish of spices to add to olive oil. Nice touch. I had the homemade parsley garlic linguine with marina and freshly sauteed garlic mushrooms. Each part of the dish held its own flavor and fit well with the others. Sampled the impressive and tasty Italian beef sandwich and delectably decadent fettuccine Alfredo that others at my table ordered. All delicious.

Excellent ambience and very good food! I've been coming here since it opened way back in the day. Family owned and operated....means a lot!

Very nice, tasteful Italian restaurant. Good atmosphere & very attentive service staff. Well rounded menu. Would NOT recommend it for the homemade Italian sauce. Way too sweet for me to ever touch again. The oil & bread was very tasty with a hint of spice. Pizza sticks - very good. Tasted & felt freshly baked. Piping hot. Came with the sweet Italian sauce, took the dish way down. My wife loved her giant salad. I had the Veal Parmesan. Big mistake. Covered in the sweet homemade Italian sauce. Would never order again, even if Al Capone himself insisted. Never. Other than the need for the kitchen to find the spice rack, the restaurant seemed nice, but I'm not in a hurry to get back there.

We have been here 2.5 hours no food. Drinks are empty and running out of things to talk about.

It was my third time in three years at Lucchese's Italian and it never fails to disappoint. I had ordered the Lucchese's Chicken pasta which was a vodka sauce with a lightly breaded chicken. The pasta was cooked al dente with the sauce being light and tangy. The chicken was a definite highlight on the dish, as it was the centerpiece and predominant protein. It had been coated with the vodka sauce, but had a lot of flavor, since it had been prepared with some skin on. The restaurant is located next to a bridal shop and is slightly pricier compared to other restaurants, but this is probably on top of my list for best Italian around the area. There place is split into a bar area and a dining area. The servers are always very accommodating and the dining area is very relaxing, which makes it a preferred choice for dinner. I definitely would stop back on my next visit to Elkhart.

Our family stopped for lunch while traveling. Bread and dipping oil w/spices were amazing. Pasta carbonara was rich and creamy. Full of flavor.

Visiting my women in Fort Wayne and we stopped here heading to the RV Hall of Fame in the area. Meal was very good, as was the service. We both loved the spices provided with the bread to make our own dipping sauce when combined with the olive oil at the table. I also really enjoyed the chopped salad I ordered and she equally enjoyed the mushroom dish she had. She's a picky foodie, so I trust her opinion more than mine. In an area that seemed laden with fast food places this was a welcome and worthwhile location.

Wow! Had the best experience at Lucchese's. We were just passing through town & decided that we were in the mood for some good Italian food. People weren't kidding in their reviews about how amazing the spices that are served with the EVOO & bread are--WOW! We had half priced wines [on Thursdays] which was great. Our waiter, Austin was very friendly & even helped us out with what to do in the area [shout out to The Chief!]. But the food was very delicious! The noodles were super fresh & I LOVED my Scallopin!

We've loved it in the past, but aren't visiting as much lately. Portions smaller, prices higher. Maybe I'm just cheap, but $14 for five ravioli seems a little high.

Fantastic. Delicious. I've loved this place for at least 15 years. And the new generation has been bringing in new tastes as well as upholding the traditional dishes that have been passed down from Italy to Elkhart. Real, authentic, and truly a family-owned operation. I've never been let down with any dish.

Who knew there was amazing Italian food in Indiana? This is a very simple down home diner style restaurant. No frills here. But the food is crazy good. I thought I was in New York City. If you are ever in town, check it out, great people!

This restaurant is out in the middle of no where. One has to drive 5 miles from downtown Elkhart to get to it so if you're in a hurry for lunch don't bother. However, if you have the ime for a leisurely lunch and like Italian food, then it's a fair choice. Tastefully decorated, their bar area is separated from the dining area and is busier than the dining area. The last time I was in, the wait attendant made me feel like they were doing me the favor of waiting on me. Their food is limited to Italian choices. If you order the chicken salad, be sure to tell them if you want it served cold; they don't ask, they just assume everyone eats it hot with the bread grilled and a glob of cheese melted on the inside of the sandwich. Their take out deli section was dong a brisker business then their dining area and this was lunch time. With serves like the one I had I can understand why.

I've been to Lucchese's several times and was quite impressed with their food. Some particularly good things I've had were a Culver duck breast with orange reduction and orange risotto, their Italian chicken, and pasta with vodka sauce. Various salads are also delicious. As others have noted, the atmosphere leaves an incredible hole lacking and is one of the chief reasons the place doesn't merit a fifth star. The service, though, every time I've been, was very good. The waitstaff was efficient, prompt, and helpful, but not overbearing. They know when to leave you alone and give you plenty of time to enjoy your dinner. The best advice, though, someone going to Lucchese's can probably get is do not, whatever you do, skip dessert.

Pretty much the only thing I like there is the Chicken Linguine...it is to die for. They have a nice bread basket with seasoned olive oil on the table, My husband likes a lot of the other dishes, but sometimes the food is overall bland. They have good drinks, but they are very pricey for this area. The booths are extremely uncomfortable. It feels like you sink to the floor and your chin almost rests on the table. We now request a table to avoid the booths.

All of you need to get out of town for some Italian food. This place is ORDINARY, you can make better food from a box and a jar which is what they do there

Been there a lot but cannot get one nightmare experience out of my mind. Grandma's birthday, reservations for 12, otherwise empty room. Waited at half hour increments for everything... Menus, water, ordering... Finally everyone so hungry I went to the restaurant's retail deli for quarts of pasta and salads and PAID AGAIN for food to tide the crowd over!!!!! You cannot brush off 80 year old folks, like they have all the time in the world. There was no excuse... And no apology. I was mortified, lost moments due to cluelessness. I have to go for business meetings but will never forget what happened to our family. If you make all the effort to put a family event there, transporting seniors, raising expectations for a lovely evening... You are taking your chances, because they won't appreciate that.

The food is very good, with many seasonal offerings. I had duck with a basalmic gorgonzola reduction sauce. It was as rich and delicious as it sounded. The only thing bad about this place is the location. The location really sucks. I miss the old location very much, as well as the old decor. This place is way too "Toscana Park" for me. Very pretentious and Grangery. Leave the bullshit for the Macri family.

OMG guys! I'm in a picture! I'm in a pink jacket! It was the day of my birthday lunch! I told my teacher that I was on their yelp account. My teacher is mrs. Lucchese.

Lemon drop martini is a must and Ask for chicken linguini salad. It a secret menu item for dinner anyhow. Pass on the lasagna, too dry, too much ricotta for my taste.

Excellent food and service at reasonable prices. Also, they have an organic Malbec wine for cheap. For lunch, the chicken with parsley linguini is excellent. It's not on the dinner menu, but is still sometimes available. Last nite, I had balsamic glazed salmon with bruchetta risotto, which was wonderful... and a lemon berry marscapone cake dessert which was perfect!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
