As a long time fan of this establishment for years, it had been a couple years since I'd had their food due to moving out of the area. Tonight however, I ordered carry out and wasn't disappointed. Best pizza around and amazing Tortellini Paradisio!! If you've never given Colombo's a try...What are you waiting for? Excellent Italian family recipes brought over from Italy. They're the real deal.

We always get pizza here. This is a great family owned place. Friendly service, consistent, delicious product, and It's local. I' ve eaten pizza from other local pizzerias and this is about the best in Michiana.

Joe the owner just catered an event for us in Goshen, IN. The pizza, pasta and salad was great, very tasty and large portions. The entire family thought the food was yummy. I highly recommend there catering service.

First time experience with Colombo. Carry out because the place is kind of small and was pretty busy obviously weekend crowds. Im not knocking them for any of that. The pizza was good but it wasn't outstanding. As far as it being the best in elkhart that's debatable. For the price and the cheese to toppings ratio definitely better than eating any chain pizza place. Also had the Italian style sub and it was middle of the road. Meat kind of tasted cheap and didn't have a ton of flavor. Kind of felt like an american version of an Italian sandwich. I would eat here again but not after trying a few other elkhart pizza places.

I could not rave about this pizza more. It is seriously, my favorite pizza on the planet. I've eaten a lot of pizza, in a lot of styles, and at a lot of places, but seriously, this is some good stuff. I will give the disclaimer that I've been coming here since I was a kid, so there is also a nostalgia element to my love of this place. Even after that though, it is a quality pizza made from quality ingredients done right, at a great value. It is the happiest mixture of quality and quantity. I remember the first time I took my wife here. I'm normally the type to get a pizza bigger than I need so that we have leftovers the next day, and my wife knows this. So you can imagine her surprise when I ordered a medium of my favorite pizza in the world. Well a medium is like, a normal extra large. There's just something about this thicker crust, heavy topping and cheese, mid-westerny style pizza that I enjoy very very much. If anybody could tell me the proper style name for this pizza I'd appreciate it, because finding a suitable substitute close to me is difficult given that I can't put a name to the style. So, in closing, eat here often. It's my favorite food in the world.

We recently visited the Michiana area for Amish activities and eating. We arrived to Elkhart late one Friday and wanted something quick. Since we have 4 kids, pizza always cuts the line. Being born and raised Chicago, we take pizza very seriously. Literally my friends and I have gotten into fights over our favorite pizza place. Anyway, we pulled to the parking lot and were greeted with a pleasant smell. We sat down and our pizzas came out. First, sausage and peppers, second pepperoni. The pizza is not what I would call thin. However not exactly Chicago deep dish either. It's cut in triangles, which any real Chicagoan will tell you is wrong :). Beyond that, the pizza was average in flavor. Cheese was below normal quality that we were use to. Crust not much flavor. Sauce was ok and meats were hardly noticed by flavor or size. It was all a little on the salty side as well. It is edible but not crave-able. It was also a bit expensive. Each medium is about $18 but the sizes are good so maybe that balances it out to some. We couldn't justify it by quality though. I do not crave this pizza as I do Pequod's or Falco's or Villa Nova or Villa Napoli in Chicago. Just wanted to give my opinion to other Chicagoans visiting the area.

Best pizza in Elkhart, hands down. They have done sort of garlic concoction that makes the pizza taste like heaven. The best part is they offer a gluten free option. Smart Columbo's!

Great food, reasonable price, fantastic atmosphere! I shared a large pizza, which was larger than I expected, but still enjoyed as left-overs later that evening. Colombo's was suggested to me, and I advise anyone visiting the South Bend/Elkhart area to stop in.

I have been here several times and thoroughly enjoyed the food each time. What many hear about is the pizza, but their other food is most excellent also. The fact that they use actual mozzarella cheese on their food is definitely a bonus. Otherwise, the quality at the place is superb. Additionally, portion sizes are pretty awesome considering the prices. If ordering the gnocchi, plan on leaving with carry-out box. The only down side to eating here though is that on busy nights, there may be a line, but it's worth the wait.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
