Great (non-franchise) option we hit up on our outlet/canoeing trip to Edinburgh. Husband had 1/2 lb pulled pork sandwich and I had 1/2 lb smoked chicken. Both were so tender with just the right amount of smoke. They had two sauces (a sweet and a hot). We each had our favorite. Sides are nothing to write home about, but it really is all about the meat, isn't it? Staff was low-key and friendly. All said and done (with drinks) $20. Money well spent.

This is the only place in this area that I will go for BBQ. There is none better. But the problem I have is that I love their brisket, and half the time I go in to get some, they are sold out of it for the day. I went in today to buy 2lbs of brisket to go at 5pm and they were sold out already. I have waited since they closed for the winter 2 months ago to have some brisket and I was looking forward to taking that first bite of BBQ goodness...I suppose I will wait for another day. :(

Amazing Brisket! I make it a point to stop here when I'm in the area.

Now this is what BBQ is about. This is not the type of place we would stop at under normal circumstances, but thanks to a good yelp, we thankfully pulled in. Great friendly Indiana folks that certainly know how to smoke up some ribs. The ribs were meaty, perfectly tender and falling off the bone.

Pulled pork = delicious. Coleslaw = flavorless. Hot sauce = Mild sauce. Key Lime pie = perfect.

My son brought Hickory Hills Barbeque beef brisket to us tonight. Ohmygosh! It's unbelievably good! Tender, tasty and terrific! I would drive the hour and a half there just to get more of it. Son says everything he's had there is just as good. I had the mild sauce - tangy and sweet, just the way I like it!

This is by far the best place to grab a bite to eat in Edinburgh! I work close by and hit this joint up usually about once a week. All the meat is freshly smoked right on the property and not shipped on like other places. The BBQ pulled pork is absolutely fantastic. Their jambalaya, smoked chicken, and smoked sausage is also a huge hit with the local populace.

I'd give it 0 if possible Friday 5:30 no ribs, no brisket, no rib tips. Immediately turned around and left.

That picture you see up there. Yea, the one for Hickory Hills Barbeque. That right there is a half pound of smokey pork shoulder goodness wrapped in a fresh onion bun for a measly $5.50. That paper carton of pulled pork can be slathered with your choice of mild and sweet, spicy and peppery, or habanero hot BBQ sauce to make glorious understanding of porcine deliciousness explode in your mouth. That you can cool it down with a slab of respectable key lime pie ($3) is just an added bonus.

Best BBQ that I have found in Southern Indiana. If you are brave, ask for their "special" hot sauce (not on the menu.)

Excellent Barbeque! Huge servings. Definitely try this if you're looking for barbeque in the area.

This place is really a gem in an area full of chain restaurants. The brisket was my absolute favorite. Thick cut, flavorful, amazing. Nice that you can sauce everything to your liking. Extremely reasonably priced, and very friendly people. It's not a fine dining place by any means (limited seating) I will deff be going again!

I'll admit, I've never set foot in the business, but my husband worked close by for quite some time. He brought us home the beef brisket and pulled pork in several occasions. This last week he had to go near there again to inspect a bridge. He called and ask me if I wanted some, OF COURSE! This is by far the best brisket I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Absolutely delicious, moist, smokey flavored. Really no add ins are needed with the brisket. It's great all it's own. I also love their potato salad. Being from the deep South I am used to more of a mustard potato salad (most people around here use mayo). So, theirs is as close to southern I can get these days. Cole slaw: It was a bit weird the first time I tasted it as it is a light orange color and spicy. After eating it a couple times I've come to like it very well. Overall, their food here is amazing. Every chance my husband has to go to Edinburg we will be getting take out. Absolutely love it!

Very tasty pork BBQ. Small seating area but can do take out. One of the best BBQ places in the area!

A barbeque place is one of the last places you'd find a Vegetarian. But, when I found myself at Hickory Hills I was delighted to find some of the best side dishes - potato salad and the cole slaw have the traditional recipes with some added punch! The prices and selection are very reasonable. Parking and seating are often a challenge during peak lunch hours... but they also have a back room and outdoor additional seating. Although I have not tried any of the main dishes, I have been delighted by the sides and dessert options at Hickory Hills BBQ.

3.5 Stars Those that know me know I'm a BBQ snob. This place is definitely on the right track and worth a followup visit. I was disappointed they had no ribs on my visit, but that's okay...because if you smoke anything, I'll give it a shot! I went with the brisket and baked beans while my wife chose pulled pork and slaw. They also have daily specials, including ribs. But the BBQ gods must not have been blessing me this day. You definitely get a "homey" feeling when you walk in Hickory Hills. You walk in, order, wait a few, get your food, sit down and devour. For extra 'Merican, simply repeat. I'm a Hoosier at heart...and it's a challenge to find delicious authentic que in Indiana. But, as I said earlier, this place is on the right track - they get it. My brisket's flavor and tenderness was spot on. There was a good defined smoke ring. The only thing missing was juiciness. The same rings true with the pork - good smoke, flavor and bark, but no juiciness. I reckon both meats sat too long before being served. I would like to try some meat right off the smoker...that could be enough to scoot Hickory Hills up a few spots in my book. One must...and I say MUST for a BBQ joint is good 'ole southern sweet tea. Hickory Hill's sweet tea tastes like a store mix...so go with a carbonated beverage or simply stick with water. If you're in the area, definitely check this place out! It's unlike anything else in Edinburgh (is there anything else in Edinburgh?).

Great BBQ with trifecta of meats... Spicy Cole slaw was great and the beans slurpolicous!

Holy moly. I almost cried everything was so delicious!!!!!!! Beef brisket was perfectly made.. And the chicken, white, fresh, thoroughly cooked, pork was so delicious! Nachos was outrageous. Overall they are too generous with their portions. I saved the rest of my meal for breakfast the next day. Gotta get the potato salad and coleslaw too!!

It has taken me two months to write this review because I wanted to make sure I wrote how I really felt instead of something that was just in the moment out of anger because of the service. The ONLY reason I am giving one star is because the food was good but I would absolutely never recommend it for catering, especially for your wedding. I booked this place because when I called they were very nice and accommodating. Never had a bad feeling about it and I was very pleased with the price and the fact that they deliver and set up for free. I called a month before the wedding to confirm. However many pounds of pulled pork, Cajun coleslaw, Mac n cheese, and baked beans. $7 a person. Perfect. Called a week before to confirm the same. THEY called me a day before to confirm again. Awesome. I couldn't be more confident that we were getting meat, and 3 sides for $7 a person. They day of the wedding they come and set everything up. I get up to the line to get our food with my new husband. No Cajun coleslaw. Not a big deal. I work in the restaurant business and understand these things happen. I went up to the guy who was waiting for us to pay and kindly told him that I had confirmed 3 times that we were also supposed to have Cajun coleslaw, and i didn't want to pay the amount I had been quoted since I had been quoted for $7 a person with 3 sides, not two. But I said it wasn't a big deal and I could call the office Monday to figure it all out (he said he wasn't the manager he was just helping out that weekend) About 30 minutes later the owner rolls up, decides to park his huge catering van basically right in the middle of where we are trying to have our reception, and nags the bartenders to get me for him. At this point we are in the middle of speeches, first dances, and the wedding that we get to have one day of our entire lives. I can literally see him staring me down through the doorway of the kitchen. I finally have a second so I try to hunt down my groom because he has the credit card, finally come to the conclusion that it is BS that I'm spending time out of my wedding day to deal with this when this is something THEY messed up on. I finally confronted the manager/owner and said this is BS that I'm missing part of my wedding trying to deal with something that was your fault. I said id call the next day to sort everything out. He told me that he needed a credit card immediately. Told me he never got a confirmation and I never ordered the cole slaw. Excuse me. I confirmed 3 times. I went ahead and gave him the card because at this point I was very upset that this all was happening while I was trying to enjoy our wedding reception. He only gave us a 10% discount which didn't suffice for the amount of food I thought we were getting and didn't. And I never got an apology. And I feel like I missed out on an entire hour of my reception because I was either stressed trying to sneak away to deal with it , or trying to find my groom to help me. This is time I can unfortunately never get back, and I feel like I was disrespected, and screwed out of money/ or food we should have gotten. Super disappointed in how this turned out, not because there was a mistake but 100% how it was handled.

This place has the best brisket I have ever had! We eat here at least once a month. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the lack of seating. There are only 6 tables inside and has some outside tables. I also wish they were open during the winter months.

Don't get me wrong - three stars ain't bad in my book. It was prety good, had some brisket and some pork. The sauce was decent and they served it dry, as BBQ should be. I would suggest that they put some combinations on the menu like most BBQ places do in the rare event you want to try more than one item. Sides were not that interesting, but not awful. The highlight were the great ladies behind the counter. The place has 6 4-top tables, so its pretty small.

Love this place! If you're ever at the Edinburgh outlet mall and craving some Bar-b-Q, this this where you need to go. Forget about the chain restaurants nearby and drive 2 miles west until you see the little red shack. Great smokey meat smell emanating from the restaurant. I had the Boss Hogg - a huge pulled pork sandwich. VERY TASTY. I can't wait to return! Not a fancy place, just great barbecue!

By far the best BBQ I've ever had the pleasure to devour - hands down. This place is no one shot fluke.. it's delish time and time again. I gladly travel the 30+ miles out of my way for their "fall off the bone" ribs and their overstuffed pulled pork sandwiches. They offer beef brisket as well, although I haven't sampled that yet. Their modest building accomodates about 30 people, but they also offer outdoor seating. Sides are limited to baked beans, slaw, and chips but who needs them. This place will leave you looking for the nearest couch. Prices are quite reasonable. Counter service is adequate. Highly recommend!!

Amazing. Small and comfy with great food. Their hours of operation are frustrating, as they close at 6pm, before normal people eat dinner. But the food is worth adjusting your schedule.

Don't drive on by.....STOP! This is locally owned and real BBQ! The ladies were very friendly, but the pulled pork and ribs....WOW! Don't forget some cajun cole slaw, mmmmm! Very laid back and casual :)

Swung by for the first time, and got the brisket sangwhich, with some pot salad and coleslaw. The brisket was delicious, very tender. I put some sauce on it (it wasnt the hot kind) and it was very tasty. The sides were nothing out of the ordinary. I feel I got plenty of food for the money though and will be coming back to try other items.
