Ok, I have only ordered carryout here so I'm going to be a little generous with the stars. I ordered nachos from here and when I went to pick them up they weren't ready. There's no way they started on them until I got there because how long can it take to slap some meat and cheese on a pile of chips? The nachos tasted ok, but they weren't very hot. I will give it another try, but I wasn't that impressed.

smothered and covered mexi food... Good chips, better salsa. I only have been here for lunch and to be honest this place isnt bad...it just isnt good either. It works in a pinch and thier lunch specials are decently priced. I recently wenthere with some co-workers for lunch and tried their Chimichanga lunch special ($4.50!!!). It was a chicken chimi with guacamole "salad" and beans. It was edible but not rememrable.

Meh. I was hungry when I came in and not hungry when I left so I guess it was a successful meal. Nothing special, nothing very good. Kind of like a Mexican tv dinner. I ordered veggie fajitas, and was charged the same price as the steak fajitas. What I received was the steak fajita meal without steak. No extra veggies at all. Bleh.

I love this place. I always get chicken fajita nachos. Soooo yummy. Customer service isn't always the best but I always know my food will hit the spot.

On our way home from our cross country road trip, wanted to grab food near our hotel. I was hesitant to stop here because of the reviews. I cannot understand why this place was rated so poorly. Being from San Diego, I'm a Mexican Food connoisseur. I didn't think they would come close to measuring up but wanted something fast & easy and the alternatives were not appealing, so we went for it. Was attended to right away, server was very kind & helpful, food came out fast..and it was delicious. Guy recommended this loaded chorizo, chicken, steak, grilled onion quesadilla (which I rolled up and ate like a burrito) and it was amazing. Chips were thin and crisp, exactly the way they should me. Ignore the other weirdo yelpers and go get you some good Mexican food.

My family ate here recently. The food was average but the service was horrible. We asked to see the manager, a man named Miguel, and he was VERY RUDE to us and pretty much said that if we didn't like the long wait we were experiencing then we could eat somewhere else next time....WE WILL!

The food was really good! I had the enchiladas verdes. Tender chicken wrapped in corn tortillas with green sauce and cheese on top. Spiced just right! And I also had a chile relleno which was made the way I like them, stuffed with a little meat and beans, and smothered with lots of cheese. Quite delicious! The only thing that kept this from being a five star review was the slow service. My waiter was very nice but things really took a long time today.

I have been here many times and only today did I think to leave a review. I mean the place is okay. I think they should not have changed the title from "Los Toros" to "The Toros"... It seems super corny now and it did their restaurant no good. Now I just feel even more compelled to mispronounce "quesadilla," just to fit in- even though I'm a Spanish major. Other than that, the service is great, I've certainly never had a problem with that. The menu is somewhat confusing- there aren't very many pictures so I'm never quite sure what I'm getting. But, usually no matter what I order, the food is good. However, I always get sick afterward. Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it's not. It's certainly not the best Mexican restaurant, but it's not the worst.

Went here once before and like most of the other reviews, this place is mediocre at best. Went again and and left before we ordered. The "waiter" brought the chips out in one hand and had a dirty dishrag in the other. I asked for the spicy salsa for my chips and was rudely told to dump hot sauce into the salsa my wife and kids were going to eat. I've gotten spicy salsa here before and any other Mexican restaurant btw. We should have known something is up with this place since it was empty and it has already changed names once. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen around so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I've eaten here many times, and in the past liked it. I stopped in yesterday to carry out food. I ordered the chicken chimichanga & the pollo way. The chimi was not good. The pollo way chicken not seasoned well, and there was very little cheese on it. It was pretty dry and bland tasting. The serving sizes were way too small for the price.

Like Paul J. said in earlier review. Pictures of Bulls testicles everywhere! Regardless the food and service is great. Portions are enormous so come hungry! I decided to have the Hot & Spicy Burrito. It's filled with ground beef, pulled chicken, beans and rice topped with a red chili sauce, sour cream and beef tips. Did I mention the portion are HUGE! Different drink specials and entree specials every night of the week. Since the closing of my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Burg. I will be visiting Los Toros again. Well done!

Food was fine, but I was really there for the company of my family. They have been here many times & have enjoyed it.

Somewhere in my parent's suburban Chicago home there's a picture of me celebrating my 16th birthday. I'm wearing my favorite Faith-no-More t-shirt, and a sombrero; Faith-no-More because I was awesome, a sombrero because I was celebrating my birthday at Chi-Chi's. The food snob in me is a bit embarrassed to admit how much I enjoyed Chi-Chi's, but boy could I ever eat a plate of heavily seasoned ground beef, beans, and guacamole swimming in a sea of melted cheese, and sour cream Americanized Mexican food. There's nothing wrong with that style of Mexican food as long as you do it well, and I think Los Toros is dynamite. Just be careful when you order, because sometimes you get so much food that it comes out on multiple plates, and those plates will completely cover the detailed drawings of dangling bull testicles that adorn every table. When you take a picture of your tacos al pastor, and upload it to your Facebook, you're going to want your friends to see those testicles.

Move this to the Westfield location once it is set up. Vast menu - but really hard to read if you need reading specs (some tables are dark). Great family spot - others will enjoy as well. Food is filling, lots of variety - I am the fifth wheel in my family of Mexican food eaters but I am always happy with my options. Nice local joint - sometimes on busy nights service can be slow - but everyone is hustling - this is my criteria - how hard are you trying. Once ordered food is quickly served and is hot. Most nights this has not been an issue. We have been there 8 times since they opened the north restaurant.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
