I'm not from Batesville, but this is a place I would want to go back to time and again if I did live there. It wasn't very crowded when we went (it was a weeknight with bad weather), but I'm sure the service would still have been great if it had been a packed house. The menu itself was more extensive that I would have expected, and the group I was with loved their meals - I especially loved mine, the Tuscan Pasta. It was easily the best Italian-style pasta I've had in years, and it beat Olive Garden by a landslide. And considering the low prices, I was especially impressed. Can't wait to try some of those craft brews next time!

Very nice place. Only been in the bar area. Good beer choice and prices, but no onsite brewery (for now). Didn't get the entire backstory but they've hired a new brewmaster and should be brewing soon. Mostly wood room with several high top tables in front of the bar. Assuming you are coming in from the south outside door, you into the area opposite the bar. Several high tables. Bar is on north wall. Only 10 or so stools but an great open U-shaped bar. Tons of hdtvs including 3 on the bar back. Just a casual fun place. A hand full of drunks, but you're in a bar. Have fun.

Stopped here during a Kentucky-to-Illinois road trip. Midweek, parking lot full is a good sign. Service was fast, food was good, and that's about all I remember since I started this review 5 months ago.

Had a reservation at 6:45 and got sat down to be interrupted 6 times because the hostess brought by other customer because the tables are too close togeather. Ordered our food and waited for 45 mins. Server was new and slow with no help. We even waited 20 mins to get straws and had to get up and ask the manger for them. The food was ok, but it was very sloppy and poorly done. They seemed to think the we're busy but really there weren't that many people in the restaurant. If this building had a fire the possibilities for people to get hurt or die are high. The tables are too close togeather and would keep people from escaping in a safe mannor. I literally had to wait for the manager to move when he was talking to other customers to get to the bathroom. Parking was horrible. Minimal places to park. We had to walk down the street from an old factory. Hope the area is safe. This restaurant could be better or needs to reconsider it location to properly accommodate the customer's.

The bar atmosphere is lively but laid back, the dining room is more family friendly. We had to wait a little while for our food, but the flatbread pizza was fabulous, my husband loved his burger. And prices were very reasonable! A great choice while passing through. We'd definitely come back of we were locals!

Really was not impressed with the food or service here. We ordered an appetizer and everything came to our table at once. Our waitress apologized, but later on was making snide comments about how much food we were eating. The steak was not the best but not the worst. Thought the sauerkraut balls were okay but way too big. I think if they made them half that size they'd do better. Husband enjoyed the brown ale. I would come again to try different food and see if it was better.

Three of us for dinner on Wednesday evening. Place was very busy but service was good. Atmosphere is nice but the place is kind of tight when it's full. We all ordered the special which was paddle steak. The steaks were quite good and prepared correctly. I was a little disappointed in the proportions, but for the price it was still a good value. Anyway back to the food - I had baked sweet potato with brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Excellent, but again wish it was a larger portion. We were all driving separately so did not have the opportunity to try any beer. Will have to do so next time through Batesville. The total with tip was $62. I think the value is good for the quality and overall experience. I'd pay more for larger portions though!

Craft beer in Batesville! That alone should get anyone excited. You see, I grew up (kinda) in this small town of Batesville and just like every small town if you weren't drinking some Budwiser product, well it was looked down upon unless it was the 3rd weekend in July. The 3rd weekend of July everyone forgets that they only drink Bud Light and guzzle Dunkel until you pass out. Then you go back to budlight and get excited about drinking another Dunkel next year. Well Adam, the head brewmaster/cook/awesomeness, took his best swing at converting a town that likes their beer one way, cold, into true aficionados of the suds. He has a Dunkel on tap, but I would recommend his Firehouse red or his IPA. His IPA is no Sun King/ Flat 12 in terms of hopiness, but they hold their own next to a delicious steak. I've only had the food once at Lil Charlies (I mostly come for the beer) but it's my parents favorite restaurant in town. That's also including the world famous Sherman House in that list. Oh yea, Lil Charlies is also the only place in Batesville that you can buy growlers of beer from on sundays.

Business was very slow when my husband and I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon passing through. The dining area is filled with interesting photos, and the lady at the cash register was very nice in sharing the story of their town and the neighboring town as well. The burger was okay, but when I asked for a little bit of mayo on the side the waitress brought me some Miracle Whip which was is a big no-no. Also, the beer batter fries had a good taste to them, but they arrived as cold as the burger was. Atmosphere and good root beer are the reason this place gets two stars.

Just what this town needs after a long days work. Good beer selection, and excellent bruschetta. Wish they would pour the Guinness properly. Their burger is also pretty good.
