This is an awsome place to visit better then bar food menu and all the comments about smoking are funny. It's a smoking bar and always has been so I dont think that should be commented on as it is posted on the door as you enter.

We really enjoy Sidelines even though smoking is allowed since they are outside the smoking ban. There is a decent exhaust system with high ceilings so it's not as bad as some but noticeable. I haven't had to leave yet due to the smoke even as an asthmatic but honestly I've never been here passed 10:45 pm and afraid to tempt fate. Sidelines is a great spot for lunch, dinner or after work drinks. You can enjoy the dance floor on weekends when the DJ (Fri) and Live Band (Sat) entertain the crowd. Be warned it is so LOUD it drives many, including us, away. I appreciate loud music but this is, IMO, unbearable loud even for a 70's gal. The positives are daily drink specials, good bar food, reasonably priced, decent menu with terrific servers, sports décor and TV's everywhere for sports enthusiasts. We've never had a bad experience here once and always enjoy ourselves. The layout was well planned with 4 pool tables, dart boards, video golf and darts in one large gaming area at the far end of the building. The main area is their large bar with comfortable seating if that's your seat of choice. As soon as you walk in to the left of the bar are grouping of tall top tables where most diners congregate around. The right side of the restaurant has a half wall separating some of the gaming area with tables directly behind the wall and in front of the stage and dance floor. Enough tables to accommodate large groups in this area. The stage area is directly to the right as you walk in the door with a DJ spinning tunes on Friday nights and a live band on Saturdays. We've eaten here many times and always been satisfied with our meals. BLT's, Spicy Gumbo Ziti, Grilled Tenderloins, Burgers, Fries, Rueben's, Salads, Panini's, and much more are decent. The Cheese Stuffed Pretzel is my favorite and with a small salad is a meal for me. The onion rings are okay but I prefer more onion than batter but everyone loves these. Just my personal choice so don't let it stop you from ordering. Our previously stated our servers have always done a great job and their attentive without smothering, and super friendly.

The establishment itself is decent and well laid out (not cramped). Has pool tables as well so that is a plus for me since that is what I expect in a sports bar. Not sure about the food as yet but the beer on tap selection is average. Non smokers and families be aware as the place allows smoking and you can definitely smell the smoke even though they have good ventilation.

If you call yourself a Sports Pub you should know the local sports teams. Instead of having Butler playing Villanova on they were showing indoor Track. Bartender had never heard of Butler.

Nice clean Avon sports bar with decent food. Have been here a couple times for lunch. Good friendly waitstaff. Smokes / Cigars welcome. Most other pubs in Avon do not allow smoking so this is for the smoking crowd for sure. I recommend.

I want to give this place a higher rating but in some ways this place is a 1 or 2 star because sadly, as other reviews have stated, this place still allows smoking and it stinks inside...sigh, hopefully someday this will change but until then, I don't see myself going here very often. On to the good things about Sidelines...lots of seating, drink specials, decent food for cheap prices. There is also a dance floor that I believe brings out a crowd on Saturday nights? Never been to that. My sister, our men and I recently wanted some beer on a Sunday and decided to head over there. It appeared that the bartender was the only person serving in the whole restaurant but she did a really good job despite having a lot of tables/people at her bar. I would have expected service to be slower than it was but it was a fine pace for a lazy Sunday lunch. She earns 5 stars! We got lots of beer and some loaded fries to start and those were pretty good, good size to split 4 ways. I ordered the club sandwich and it was fine, I took out the third piece of middle bread because I don't think it adds anything to club sandwiches! It was not bad for the price and I got waffle fries with them and those were actually really good! I really wouldn't mind coming here more regularly, they have 32 oz Summer Shandy on special right now!! But I got a headache from the smell and I just don't like being around it, however, I think they probably have a lot of regulars who smoke so I don't know if we'll see a change unless they are forced to do so.

We stopped by sidelines last night for a cocktail and a snack. As usual, the service was friendly and efficient. Sidelines typically has excellent drink specials any given night and has an excellent beer selection. We ordered a couple of beers and an order of the loaded tater tot nachos with chicken. The tater tots were great and came with a generous quantity of toppings including shredded cheese, cilantro, onions, jalapeños and chicken. We brushed most of the chicken off, however because it was very over-cooked. Not a bad snack though. The atmosphere at Sidelines is usually pretty lively. They have plenty to do including pool tables and darts. Last night, they had a DJ who was not very good. He kept having constant technical difficulties causing the speakers to squeak. In all, Sidelines isn't a bad option for a snack and a drink.

It's an ok place for watching the game. As a former smoker, I appreciate the smoker..but not in the bar. If it was non-smoking, we would come back.

Living on the west side we lack local unique places to go for a drink. We decided to head to Sidelines for a quick drink and snack. Sidelines is in a strip mall and looks small from the outside but when you walk in the space opens up! Lots of pool tables, darts, a dance area, and a dinning area. The service at Sidelines is always top notch. I tend to sit at the bar, just easier. There are typically different drink specials - Thursday has $1 beer. The menu has tons! I rather enjoy the tater tot nachos! The only down fall to Sidelines is that it still allows smoking. Sometimes you are able to find a corner of the bar where no one is smoking but when it is crowded the smoke can be a bit overwhelming. For a local time stop by and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat!

My wife and I used to go to a bar near where we lived before for trivia once a week, so when we moved to Avon we were on the lookout for another bar to carry on our weekly trivia fun. We stopped in at Sidelines twice - once for trivia and once just for a few beers and dinner - and neither visit impressed us much. The service was very slow when we were there for trivia, which was somewhat understandable since it was busy, but then was also slow when we went again and they weren't busy. The food was good, but nothing special and not even that great for a bar. The drink selection was good enough and they seem to have enough specials to keep things interesting. This is also one of the few places that still allows smoking, which is a pretty big turnoff for my wife. All these things, plus the fact that we've managed to find weekly trivia somewhere else, means we won't be returning to Sidelines anytime soon.

First time in after the menu changes from PJ O'Keefe. Surprised by some of the major menu changes. One big rub ....don't order the green beans as they come from a can and a reminder of overcooked from school lunch. I had hoped for something more fresh. Everything else was okay.

This bar is a great place to stop in for a drink after work. They also have a pretty good menu. I've ate lunch here several times and haven't had a bad experience yet. This bar has great alcohol specials through the week. They even have $1 domestic bottles on Thursdays! That's pretty hard to find! One drawback to this place is it can be kind of smokey, but it does have high ceilings so that helps some.

Being new to the Avon area, we frequent sidelines on a Friday nights. Not too far from our house, it has great bar food. We usually get the naked wings and potato skins. Friday nights the dj spins a lot to hip hop and club music. Tequila sunrises are on special and we have a good time dancing and people watching. It is outside Marion County, so they are outside of the smoking ban. We usually leave smelling like smoke, but we're 70's babies so we don't mind too much.

The owner is a racist!!! Stay away!!! I took my girlfriend the other day and someone called her the "N" word and threw a punch at her. Upon telling the owner after an altercation with the racist patron. The owner just said it was a free country and told us to leave.

Finally! A good bar/ night club in Avon. Sidelines is a preferred destination of mine on any Friday or Saturday Night. Layout is good, with a large gathering area in the front left side, a long bar, several TVs, and a half wall seperating the stage, pool tables, and more seating on the right side. Allows for medium-sized gatherings to take place comfortably if needed. Great place to do some dancing on the weekend evenings, Friday is usually a DJ, and Saturday is usually a band playing dance hits. Excellent selection of draft beers, not sure of the final count but over 10 different types for sure. Sidelines allows smoking, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your preferences. Compared to other smoking places I've been in, it is hardly overpowering with smoke, so if you don't smoke and are not that bothered by it, it won't be a big deal. The food is okay, the tenderloin and burgers are the best bet here. The steak specials, well just skip them-- not so good. However, the pizza here is good, but not great. I have tried all of these items-- I recommend the food at Sidelines as a secondary type of thing, like grabbing a burger while watching the football game, or grabbing a late-night pizza while listening to the band-- but I wouldn't make a 10-mile journey just for the cuisine, lets say. Service is overall good, even wait times when busy are generally quick. I have noticed that occasionally a waitress can get busy and become delayed, but still the service is good considering how many people are there. (especially during Sat. Night) If you are looking for a night spot in Avon on the weekend, this is the best one currently. It's also a good place to come here and watch the weekend afternoon games, or to grab a drink or two. Either way, it is a good place to go visit in Avon.

Tried the italian beef sandwich based on a review here, but it was dry and not too flavorful. It definitely needed the peppers that came on the side. They were out of bottlecaps, which was pretty disappointing. The seasoned fries that I had instead were above average. As covered in other reviews, the cigarette smoke is a factor here that many diners will find objectionable. The bar has Sun King Cream Ale on tap, which is a favorite, and prices were reasonable, so I won't go to two stars. There are plenty of TVs, so I would rate it a good place to watch games. In the end, there are several places around that I will try before coming back to Sidelines.

I found chipped glass in my rum and diet... It made for an uneventful night/morning that includes medical bills that Sideline Management never paid for and I had to go out of pocket for. Staff is par, food is par, atmosphere is good. One downside (besides the chipped glass) is that it's a smoking bar...

I don't normally drive almost an hour from my house to go eat and drink when there are dozens of places 15 minutes away, but three dear people who served me very well at another Sidelines which has since been sold ended up in Avon. I saw two of them on Friday night, and we were very glad to see each other. And needless to say the service was great and the food good as well. I just had potato skins and they came out quickly and were good. I was sitting at the end of the bar next to the servers area, and I could tell the other servers were on top of it with other people. Lots of TVs to watch the NCAA and other sports, a DJ on Friday and a roomy area to dance and for bands (on Sat) to play, poker on Tue. Even with a lot of people it is so roomy and doesn't feel crowded. Yes it can be smoky and I can do without it, but it is what it is. As long as people whom I can count on are there to serve, I will gladly come back.

Definitely a fan of their food. Everything on the menu is wonderful- my faves include tuna melt, buffalo wrap, and chicken pannini (oh my god so good!). Plus the portion size of most everything is good enough to share with another. Make my mouth water just to talk about their food:) I agree with another person who reviewed in that it is very smokey...being an ex smoker it's a lot to bear to go to a place that is smoke friendly. The other two bars in Avon, Boonies (which won't last too long, judging by the lack of cars in the parking lot) and Legends which is even worse in smokiness, don't really stack up.... Sideline's has a live band Saturday nights but the music is played SO loud it's almost unbearable...I steer clear usually. Wednesday nights are karaoke nights and again it's very loud but more bearable. It's a great place to meet friends and catch up and grab a beer and some food!

I love the food at Sidelines! The tenderloin has is huge and had great batter on it. The bottlecaps are my favorite. I always get them instead of the fries, which are good but not bottlecaps. Slices of jalapeno deep fried with an awesome batter, how can you go wrong. The Italian beef sandwich is messy but soooo worth it. Makes my mouth water thinking about it. They allow smoking but the ventilation is very good. The staff is friendly, drinks are strong and the music is perfect. They even have trivia and poker nights. Great bar to watch a game. My only wish is that they had some/more local beers.

You want good bar munchies? Good, come here. You want cheap beer (in bulk and iced in a bucket)? Good, come here. You want a decent size TV to watch the Colts? Good, come here. You want to die of lung cancer from second-hand smoke? EXCELLENT, come here!!! Seriously. After watching the Colts vs Jets game (which was disappointing enough with the Jets tarnishing our undefeated title) I felt ready to cough up a lung or two. The smoking was inescapable and verrrry verrrry bad! Definitely interfered with my taste buds when it came time to sample the spinach dip. Otherwise, the service was good and the food was nice (definitely have to try the waffle fries again). But, yeah, the smokers have to go.

This was my spot for a few beers after work, however new owners are running this place straight into the ground. The menu hasnt changed a whole lot, except that now the size is huge, and they dont keep it on the tables. The service staff has completly changed and I will say for the most part its horrible, I think sitting with an empty beer for 5-10 minutes every time i need a drink is ridiculous. This place was friendly and they took care of you, now it just blows! I have sent my food back twice in 2 months, and i never do that, but the italian beef was completely unedible and full of gristle, the menu stated it game with gardenia peppers, they subbed sliced jalapenos...gross and never mentioned they were out of gardenia and I specifically ordered extra peppers! This situation occurred twice, now there is no mention of peppers and the new and improved menu, that you have to wait 10 minutes to flag down a server to bring you. I guess the BW3 down the street is my new spot
