Great place for breakfast or lunch, don't serve dinner. Wonderful tasty food and very good coffee with many choices. The best part about bab's is the owners are always working and happy to be there. I wish Avon had more mom and pop places like this.

Very good bagels! Very good selection on different types of bagels. They also have a good menu for breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They have smoothies but can't comment on how good they are. I have never had one. I always have my usual everything bagel with a cup of coffee. Their coffee is ok. Over all they are a good place to stop and get something to eat.

so i cant believe we have been going here for 2 months now and i have not written a review yet, those who follow me know i always have something to say as i eat out just about every meal anymore. this has become my favorite place to go eat in avon especially at 5am when i am getting off work. they have something here for everyone and they make everything on their menu from open to close. first of all. they are super nice people. the older guy who works mornings by himself im pretty sure he is the owner. and he is super nice. i am usually gone by the time his other staff gets there, they are not as friendly as he is but still nice and professional. they make HOMEMADE soups that are to die for. i am a southerner and i am very critical about foods so this is spot on. my favorite is the creamy chicken and rice soup, followed by the split pea with ham, they get the ham from honey baked across the street which is always a favorite place of mine to eat as well. they have a huge club sandwich that is awesome. so that is what i usually get. they have tons of bagels that they make right there and so many different kinds of muffins you could never name them all. and they even frost and decorate them and fill them with all sorts of goodness. they have a rewards program, not the best i have ever seen but hey it is a rewards program. we go here a few times a week after work in the early morning when nothing else besides fast food chains are open, once you eat here once you will be hooked. they do have breakfast stuff but i can take or leave bagels. but they do have some good ones. they have some pretty tasty coffee too a few different flavors. they make all those fancy starbucks style drinks too. i have never ordered any because when we go its just the one man working and i dont want to overwhelm him so i drink soda. free refills. they do have the help yourself coffees and as i said they are pretty good.

This place is amazing! More people need to support such a great establishment! The food my friend and I got were awesome and the service was very homely! We both got a ton of food to eat and take home for an awesome price! And the muffins were very moist! SO GOOD! GO! SUPPORT! YOU LOOK LIKE YOU NEED A MUFFIN!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I'm in medical school and studying for my boards right now and spend a lot of time at Big Apple Bagels. I was getting so sick of studying at Starbucks and Panera (and they're so expensive!). I decided to check out BAB in Avon and I'm so hapy I did! I'll usually sit there and study for 6 or 7 hours at a time. I'll buy both breakfast and lunch while I'm there and it doesn't break the bank! It's delicious and I never get sick of it. They also have an awesome coffee selection (like Chocolate Avalanche and Caramel and Banana Creme Pie). Occasionally busy in the mornings and on weekends but they're service has never been slow. What's even better than the cheap delicious food? THE STAFF!!! They're so wonderful. They don't mind me sitting for hours and drinking coffee and studying. They know the majority of their customers by name and are so so welcoming. One of my absolute favorite places to eat these days.

I came in for a bagel, which I did order to go, but was impressed with the muffin selection! I chose two strawberry cheesecake mini muffins and they offered a sample of the boston creme and it was perfect! Just the right texture for the chocolate ganache, filling and muffin. Great selection of bagels- I got a toasted everything with cheddar jalepeno cream cheese.

Let me start off my saying I LOVE BAGELS! I can have bagels everyday. Buuuut, this place just doesn't cut it for me. I had the pumpernickel bagels with honey cinnamon cream cheese. The bagel was supposed I be toasted but it's barely warm and still cold in the middle. It is VERY dense, too dense that it's hard to take a bite without feeling like I'm chewing on rubber. The cream cheese flavor was good though, but I hate that they don't offer whipped cream cheese (I like my spread light and not sticking to the roof of my mouth- as it would if not whipped). I don't think I would be back again for bagels, but I might try their pastries as they look pretty good. And also their staffs are friendly and helpful. So yeah, I'll drive to downtown Indy for Einstein's bagels if I have to, but I don't think this place is going to be my bagel joint.

I stopped in to pick up some bagels and they had me in and out quickly. This was especially impressive because they were so busy. The bagels were good and made for some great breakfasts, plus everything was pretty reasonably priced. No complaints from me!

BABs bagels and muffins are always delicious, and I love the array of coffees that they offer. Plus, it's fairly priced and the people are friendly! I love this location. Also, it's fun to call it BABs.

My boyfriend and I come to BABs 3 or 4 times a month. We love the food - the Breakfast BLT is always loaded with bacon! We also enjoy the free mini muffins. The staff are ridiculously friendly, and we love seeing familiar faces in there each week! We enjoy taking people to this place when we have visitors in town. 5 stars from me!

My wife and I come here about once a year, we keep thinking maybe we came on an off day, let's try it again. The bagels here are ok, a little better than grocery bread aisle bagel. I did enjoy my jalapeno bagel. My wife's sesame seed was a couple days old we guessed. She asked for onion. No onion - WHAT, no onion? I saw lox on the menu board had been crossed out and asked about it because that's what I really wanted. The owner said he used to have it but he no longer had a supplier of lox....in a bagel shop.....called "Big apple". That is just embarrassing. The dirty tables did not help with our opinion of the place. The staff needs to brush up on their memory skills because they had to have us repeat our orders, our very simple orders. The coffee was good.

Stop here for breakfast occasionally on the way to work to grab a box of bagels or muffins. I think the twisted bagels are the way to go. I think they have a good selection of different kinds. And the muffins are more like cupcakes--good thing or bad thing?...cheesecake, sprinkles on top, streusel..... Also had the turkey havarti sandwich for lunch, on a twisted bagel of course, very filling

I brought my roommate here for the first time ever. She tried a sample muffin and exclaimed how much she loved them. The cashier brought over a bag full of them because she heard us talking about how It was my roommates first visit and how excited she was about the muffin.

I can't say enough about this place. I can honestly walk in and they already know what I want. They deliver and this is a blessing to avon. They always have the freshest sandwiches in town. I am happy this is a place I can visit on a regular bases and not get sick of it.

Love Big Apple Bagels!!!! Mini muffins are adorable and delish! Perfect for teacher treats or a snack for the office. Bagels of all sorts are fresh and fantastic. Try the french toast bagel......YUM! Service is great they are so cheerful and sweet. I recommend the lunch special so you can have a yummy bagel sandwich, drink and two cute little muffins.

I've tried to buy bagels here at least a dozen times over the years. I've never been able to put together a dozen bagels - they'll have 2-3 poppy seeds, 1 sesame, etc. I'm a BIG bagel fan, and have been to lots of bagel places in many cities/states. This is not a normal way to function - with so few bagels to choose from. And it's not like I'm coming during the last hour of the day or anything. If you're just going to eat a single one and are open to lots of options, you'll find something. If you want something specific and/or want to take a dozen or more home (my usual thing), then it's not for you. There used to be one in Terre Haute, and it was similarly managed - never having enough stock - it closed down several years ago. The bagels themselves - not NYC style or anything - definitely not the best chewy kind. They're perfectly edible - similar to Einsteins or something - but nothing worth the hassle they are to deal with. The muffins look cute, but I've never tried them.
