Get the oysters! Had a steak, oysters and a beer. Not impressive salad bar but the entree and appetizer was great.

Meh. Not too impressed. There's a lot of talk about eating local at this place, and I think they're mistaking features for benefits. First, a disclaimer: I hate chain casual restaurants like 'bees and TGIF. That said, you go to those places because you know there are nationwide minimum standards for modern fixtures, clean bathrooms, and service levels. I really didn't feel like Timbers met any of those standards. The food was ok, but nothing amazing. The "timber tots" were nothing amazing and the nacho cheese was crummy. The burger itself was pretty good.

Decor is what you would expect, nice staff food came out in a timely manor. Very mid line food for a country mom and pop place. The only dig I have is the special seasoning kind of had ash tray undertones. Prices are ok but I've had better for the same amount.

Tried this place when I moved to the area in 2013. Food and service were good! I went a few months ago, and my food was way overcooked, the bartender did not know how to make a dirty martini and the service was very slow. I tried it again yesterday and I will not be back. The waitress was very friendly but two in the party order manhattan's to drink. they took forever as I am assuming the bartender, Jasmine, had to look it up. Salad bar is average, the manhattans came and the glasses were filled with ice, we tried them and after one sip the glass was empty and the drink was awful. We could not grab the waitresses' attention and the bartender brought our food over and asked how we liked the drinks and we told her they were awful. She had no comment and she just left. The food was oversalty. one person ordered a steak cooked medium and it arrived medium well and was full of salt. Won't be back, don't waste your money.

We went on a Saturday evening at dinner time. It was self-seating despite how crowded it was and finding a clean table on your own was a bit of a task. It took 10 minutes before the server noticed us in her area. Service was extremely slow and our drinks were not refilled a single time. We ordered New York strip steaks. The quality of meat was low and the sides had sat a bit too long before serving. Our order came out wrong the first time and had to be sent back. Other patrons in the area were loudly complaining about the lack of service and extremely long wait times.

We were on a roadtrip, heading East and decided to take in some of Indiana's local eateries above heading to the derigeur chains. It's important to support local businesses and it seems like this one is hit and miss with the locals. Our server was overworked, the menu selection of food was varied and true to the seafood, steak byline for the restaurant's name. It was nice to have soup and salad included in our entrees as the wait time from the kitchen was too long for how many people were in the joint. Potato soup was great. Salad bar was kind of generic. Had double portions to wait for our food. Main entrees of steak and burger were well sized. A bit too salty for my taste and unevenly cooked. Our alcoholic drinks were served up fast and we were able to get a buzz on while eating our appetizers in a nice environment. The locals all know each other going from table to table. My paranoid tendencies made me think there might have been something behind our food arriving so late in comparison to other tables'. I liked the ambience and the decor was great, but a bit dated. And the restroom facilities could use a touch of bleach; it was kind of smelly. I could smell it from the anteroom connecting the women's and men's places. Overall, the waitstaff are very good, but the food needs some sprucing up. Maybe they'll take some advice from this review. Good luck to them!

Timbers in Angola - how can that possibly be wrong? It's one of these places that you really want to give a good review to - after all, it is essentially the only non-chain restaurant, or non-chain anything in this NE Indiana burg. Problem is, Timber's management seems to be all-too-aware of their unique status, as they have banners proclaiming this all over the place. If only some effort were spent making the parking lot a bit more presentable... I had a hamburger which was serviceable, but nothing special. The lemonade was ok, but the server did not offer any water, which is always a bit discouraging. Waiter was friendly enough, and given that it was about 2PM, it wasn't that busy. If we return to Angola, we'll visit, but I can't say a trip to that neck of the woods is in the forecast anytime soon.

While waiting for my van to be repaired I had the fortunate experience of eating at the Timbers. I was greeted with a pleasant hello. I had chosen the country omelette for breakfast to my surprise it was of huge proportions and very good. My van not being fixed I came back for dinner this time a slab of ribs. Very good with steak fries and a side of slaw. They also have a good selection of local craft beer and German imports. I chose the Hacker- Pschorr.

Timbers is by far one of the best places for breakfast in Angola! The service is always fast and friendly, and their pricing is more than reasonable! If you are looking for some good home cooked breakfast then look no further than Timbers!

Great breakfast place. This is one of the few places to go to have a basted egg done correctly. The timber's special is my favorite ! Fast service and tasty food. The atmosphere is pretty gloomy - bring a flash light.

While in Angola, my kids and I were looking for something different as far as restaurants go. We found Timbers on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. Don't be fooled by the name or the pictures. This is not an upscale restaurant (we were concerned that we were a little under-dressed). It's a casual restaurant with an extensive menu offering anything you would want to eat. A full bar with a great beer selection. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great. The all-you-can-eat soup and salad bar was adequate, and the food was very good. I had the ribs. Very tasty. The prices were very reasonable. If you're looking for something to eat in Angola and want to stay away from the same-old-same-old chain restaurant, try Timbers. You'll be pleased you did.

I was here late on a Wednesday night last October for the first time. I was not expecting much, but it was a pleasant experience with no regrets. While the dining room was not full, the server, a woman named Rae, was very sweet and attentive. She customized the salad for me, because of some diet concerns and it was delicious. The burger was awesome as well. I suspect that burgers are one of the top items on the menu. I left satisfied and the prices were "Indiana" sane and reasonable. I like the cozy, woodsy feel of the place inside. The lighting was comforting. After many hours of driving, it was a warm and welcome sight. Another trip back would be appropriate if the distance were not so extreme. If you're your looking for a comfortable, clean and friendly place, without pretense, then you might want to give this place a go. I imagine the bar is also good because it seemed busy and the laughter and merriment was obvious.

Great place to have a steak and a beer. Very family friendly. They have a nice private area upstairs for business meetings and parties.
