So my dinner start it off bad, but Thomas the manager saved the dinner. He was very professional with fixing our issues. Olive Garden, you have a great manager. Hopefully Thomas doesn't have to fuze many issues. If so you are lucky to have him.

I never thought I would be reviewing this restaurant, because it was not one I frequented. Well, I heard about their new menu, their new decor and decided to go for lunch. In the immediate vicinity of where I live, Bravo, one of out favorite Italian restaurants, closed, and Johnny Carino's is not a place I frequent, so maybe this place will do. I was impressed with the new decor. Much more contemporary, with a great layout. We ate in the bar, which was equally different from before. The sunken and raised portions were all changed to be level with the rest of the seating area. Good. The menu has changed; however, for this visit, we had a coupon for a '$5 All You Can Eat Soup, Salad and Breadsticks.' I have always liked their minestrone soup, so I had two bowls. Still good, although two bowls was close to the recommended RDA for sodium. Salad was the same, with maybe a couple of more tomato slices. Breadsticks were the same. The staff was extraordinarily cheerful and friendly and made us feel welcome. Our server, Steven V was excellent. Just this makes me want to return. As for regular food, we did not order any but plan to try some of their lighter fare and small plates. All of this will not prevent the late night talk shows from poking fun or the CSPI from complaining about some of their dish's saturated fat and calories or other criticism about it not being 'authentic Italian', but at least, we now have a choice. I'll update this when I try other menu items, which will be soon.

We had a really great experience at Olive Garden this week. First, our server was fantastic. He was courteous, quick, and attentive. The food was delicious! The salad and breadsticks were fresh. I had the fettuccine Alfredo and my wife had salmon. I was happy to see they are finally giving enough Alfredo sauce again. For several years I had to always ask for extra. The dining room was clean and relaxing. I would have preferred the lights to have been dimmed, but that is minor. The only negative is they changed the music. The old, classic Italian music was better. The new music doesn't match the atmosphere at all. Overall, I was really impressed with how much this location has improved since our previous visit.

The bread and salad is fantastic. The waitress we had (tonya) was probably one of the best servers we have had ever. I had chicken Alfredo and my wife had the 3 cheese ravioli. Both were awesome. Only complaint and it is a big one is the seating arrangement. They pack you in like sardines and with the arrangement it makes it hard to have a conversation when you are sitting in the lap of the table next to you. I do however know everything about this years version of the bachelor thanks to a group of high school girls that was sitting next to us

I know Olive Garden gets a bad rap but I like the eggplant parmigiana and the service here was excellent.

I had a really bad experience here. I went on a busy night and was with a large party. We were quoted a time of over an hour, which seemed reasonable. But as we sat and waited, the manager on duty (a rather loud and portly woman) had some friends come in - a six top. They were told that the wait should be an hour, but they would get them a table right away. And they were. Not that this is a HUGE deal, as we were given a table fairly quickly, but it lets you know the caliber of the manager. So, we ordered and I was carb loading for a triathlon, so I got .... wait for it ... spaghetti with meat sauce. Nothing fancy. When the food came out, only 9 of the 12 entrees came. The waitress left quickly, without asking if things were okay, and we figured she was getting the rest of the food. WRONG. Order was messed up. The waitress returned as the other 9 were finishing. We asked about our food and she went to retrieve 2 of the entrees, and forgot mine ... again. I finally got the food 45 minutes after everyone else. If it was REALLY good, that's one thing. But it's just *meh* corporate food. The waitress apologized PROFUSELY and said that all the food was being comped, just not the alcohol. We were happy about that. But as the bill came, the food wasn't comped, but discounted by 10%. When asked, the waitress said that that was all the manager would do. But why would they tell us one thing then do another? So, the management seemed to have been horrible. Service? Forgetful or incompetent. Food? Meh. So why bother? Should have gone to the fast food italian place. At least it would have been CHEAPER with bad service and meh food.

I know the rep Olive Garden gets but I like their Moscato, I like their changing specials, love the salad and breadsticks. Good service, four stars well earned.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
