We walked in and up to the hot food counter. We waited. A large man came out of the back with some hot food. He didn't acknowledge us. He had an athletic type shirt and an apron on . This means his arms (including arm pits) and shoulders were bare. I couldn't help but think "I wonder if this guy has bathed recently?" The large man came out again. He looked at the hot table and went back into the kitchen. He didn't even see us standing less then 3 feet away. We waited some more. The person stocking shelves didn't acknowledge us. After 6-8 minutes of this we decided to just leave. My Ukrainian wife was VERY disappointed. P.S. They only have two types of pierogi.

Amazing home cooked European food with a lot of variety and always fresh and low priced. I highly recommend this to everyone. They also have a nice deli of cured and smoked meats and cheeses among other european products like sweets, home made pickles, etc.

Awesome Polish deli. Grab a snack or whole meal. It's some of the best Polish food you'll find outside of the city. Prices are fantastic, and you can get some items brought over straight from Europe.

Again a visit to Solty's resulted in a fantastic home cooked lunch of meatballs in brown gravy, sauerkraut with sausage, potato cakes with sour cream and potato salad Less than $10 Highly recommended Another lunch at Solty's Delicious!

After being out of the country for two years i decided to come back and try this deli once again. Boy has this place gone down hill, I should have smelled & tasted the deli meat before i bought it.... it was basically spoiled! I can't believe the deli server sliced and packaged this old meat for me without getting a new fresh one out from the back. Terrible! Terrible! you don't sell your customers expired meat on purpose and think you can get away with it? I won't be back here ever and a good lesson for everyone TASTE and SMELL any deli meat you are buying no matter where you go. I spent $17 on this trip to Solty's and $15 of it went straight to the garbage i didn't bother to drive back to complain I was so disgusted! -Sebastian

If I could I would give negative stars. This place is just the worst. I bought half a pound of Gouda cheese and it had a weird gritty texture. I also bought a half pound of Krakus ham it too was jacked up! It appeared a pale color and the taste was peculiar. A pound of cheddar cheese has white crystals and what appears to be sweat it is also questionable. Sorry I ever stopped there. But at least 20 years ago my aunt would shop there and I was in the area. Should have gone to Caputos. Can't imagine why they are still in business.

It's a small, traditional, Polish deli and grocery that also offers a surprisingly wide assortment of cooked food. My coworkers and I went there for lunch and everyone was impressed by their hot entrees. The consensus was the breaded pork cutlet was absolutely outstanding. It's impressively tender, moist, nicely seasoned and not greasy nor grisley. I'd dare to say it was a perfect pork cutlet. We sat around after our lunch and the lady behind the counter brought over a plate full of potato pancakes, on the house! It was a very nice gesture, especially since they were warm and delicious. My gripe would be they didn't have pierogis on their lunch menu. No hot pierogis at a Polish place! They did have a huge section of homemade pierogis in a fridge, so you could take them home. Also, the seating area was a bit small and dated. Personally, I don't see why anyone would care, but I'm guessing 1 out of 10 people may feel differently.

Great Prices! Awesome polish deli! I stay away from ham, but they have a nice selection here. Other than the deli, there is a nice cafeteria service that serves polish dishes at low prices. Unique bakery goods are worth exploring, and the bread is fresh and flavorful. I recommend this place to anyone who moves to the area.

I have to say I was rather HAPPY when I discovered this cool little Polish deli. I come from a Ukrainian background (my mom is 100%) so when I see a place that has sausages and Pierogis (we call them something else) I am a happy girl. Now they are NOT my Baba's but they are good. The first time I was in there I picked up some dry sausages which were like beef jerky which he loved and I picked up my mom some potato dumplings. I had to remember they were for her so I would stop snagging a few from the container. :) I have been here a few times and will definitely go back many more. In fact I picked up more sausages for my dad and uncle for Christmas. They loved them! This place has fresh breads, lots of deli, hot entrees to go. I mean like full cooked fish, beets, sauerkraut, soups, breaded pork etc. Just go in this place and walk around. You will want to buy something! :) The staff speaks Polish and English. Cheers!

It hurts me to write this review because my mom used to shop here for our Polish food when I was a child, but things have gone downhill. Perhaps it is because we went on a Sunday and the food was not made that day, but absolutely everything we got from the prepared foods section was a disappointment :( The paczki were so hard and stale, the woman should have known better than to sell them to us. The fried fish smelled terrible upon heating up in the oven, tasted a bit better than it smelled but I couldn't get myself to eat it. I am giving it a extra star for the selection of coffee, tea and Polish mags. Also, she gave us the wrong kind of cheese which we didn't notice until we got home. This was not a communication error either, as I speak fluent Polish. Really disappointed and will not be returning. Kolatek's on Harlem is far superior.
