It's April 5, 2015 10pm. An african american male serving the drive-thru told me "drive-thru is closed". I asked what time does it close and he said "around 8pm". What kind of business give a wish-washy answer like that...I can't tell if these are just lazy employees or if there's really drive-thru hours. I have never heard of it from a fast food joint. The worst part is that the gentlemen had a condescending tone in his voice. I'll never go to this business again.

Sitting here in the drive thru for the second time I have ever come here before a wrestling tournament for my son where I was told "there's no breakfast today" - it is 6:30 am on a Sunday and breakfast here is supposed to start at midnight. Then, she had me pull forward to get my son's changed order of a bacon double cheeseburger because I guess the ZERO cars behind us - or within a mile of the place - may need to get past us. If you're not going to ever have breakfast then why advertise it?! We could have gone to another one. Edited to add: they didn't even put the bacon on his burger. They weren't kidding when they said no breakfast.

This place is getting a little more disappointing each time. Beware if you get seasoned fries, they will either have hardly any seasoning, or they will have so much it's basically inedible. Today the wait was long as hell, about 20 minutes at the drive thru. I go early, about 11:10, to avoid the lunch rush, but the 2 people in front of me were enough. I got the chicago hot dog meal with iced tea. The iced tea had no ice, the hot dog was cold, and the fries were filled to their normal sad level. C'mon steak and shake, get it together.

Went in at 6pm. By 6:30 my wife still have received her shake and the waitress, who was working her butt off, said the orders were coming out slow. People, who had been there longer than us were just getting their food by this time. At 6:45, we decided to leave, like some of the other customers were doing, after hearing some arguments from the kitchen saying "that's not my job". One of the employees, who left right after we did, saw us in the parking lot and asked how we liked our meal. We told him the service sucked. He laughed and as he ate his french fry's out of his to go bag. Put this place out of it's misery and don't go there. They don't care.

I've been here since I was six, and I love the burgers. My favorites are the Oktoberfest burger and the Portobello and Swiss burger. The shakes are wonderful as well. My favorite is the peanut butter banana flavored one

Stopped in today for carry-out on August 9, 2014: - burgers okay to good. Pricey tho at 2.99 a piece. - vegetable beef soup. BAD. Almost no water (seemed more like oat-meal consistency), and it was SO SALTY I couldn't even eat it. I ended up throwing 80% of it in the trash. * I have had this soup many times, and it has never been like this. Always been a tad salty yes, but NEVER like this. So it wasn't made correctly this batch around - they must have also forgot to add water. Of course, it has to land on me... I don't go here often, maybe several times a year. So it's no big loss, but I kinda wish I had my $11 back right about now.

I love Steak and shake and would cgive the one in Naperville five stars but this one has a few issues. The service is slow and I think a few of the servers smoke pot before they come in, or when their on their break. Have on at least two occasions have had a high server. Otherwise would have to say the burgers are better the five guys and everywhere else.

Don't understand the low reviews - this is a 24-hour fast food place. You get what you pay for. That being said, I think this location is awesome. For whatever reason, it seems like I deal with the manager every time I'm there. Once he gave me and my sisters a free cheese fry because our to-go order was taking a long time. Another time, he recommended this giftcard deal to us that actually left us with $10 in free giftcards to use another time! Also, I think their food is WAY better than other fast food joints (i.e. McDonalds, Wendys, etc.). Just my opinion. Shakes get me every time.

A complete embarrassment to the franchise. After a hot day, we decided to treat ourselves to some shakes and burgers here. We arrived and the restaurant was empty. We were seated and quickly placed our orders. My cup of chili came and I enjoyed it. There were now thirteen people in the restaurant. Then twenty minutes later the food came out. The sides were wrong and we had yet to get our shakes. Forty minutes after we had sat down, the shakes came out, we asked for to-go cups. Other people had come in, ordered, also, did not get shakes or food and left. In total, I would say, conservatively, a half dozen families or couples had come and left hungry. I went to pay and stood alone at the counter for an additional ten minutes before they took my money. We left feeling embarrassed that we came here and will not return. It was quite obvious after the first ten minutes that the issue was management. The place was very understaffed, the staff that was there was so unmotivated that one individual was sitting at the counter in full uniform, occasionally getting up to seat customers. Our server was beside herself and was running around like a headless chicken. If I was the manager of this establishment, I would commit Seppuku. Look it up.

I have eaten here for many years and the shakes are always great. I love the single cheeseburgers with grilled onions and raw onions and it always hits the spot. I love the slaw dog regular or foot long and they always seem to go light on the slaw as I can hardly see it or taste it. Servers are usually pretty good and I was served by Tiffany tonight and she was great.

Waited at the drive through window for 5 minutes while honking and no one answered even though it was open.

Steak and Shake is a solid chain. This location is just like any of the others. I'm a big fan of the 4 for 4 meals... great deal! Although I always have to order more food. I won't go out of my way to go to Steak n Shake. It's more of a vacation stop while driving. love the shakes, hate (with a passion) the small sized fries! COME ON GUYS!

Sat down, 22 mins later I got my meal. Kinda really slow for a sit down / fast food place. Order was wrong. Server was cool and explained it was a miscommunication. But then forgot my seasoned fries. After forgetting he brought me a soufflé cup with it to mix myself. Ok buddy.

We had a very good Saturday lunch experience at this Steak 'n Shake. Their prices are very reasonable and there are always coupons available. I like their reasonable serving sizes. Sure, most other places serve a larger portion of fries, for a higher price, but I prefer Steak 'N Shake's portion to price point. I had the 3 serving garlic shooter hamburgers and seasoned fries.Delicious! Wish I could affort (calorie-wise) one of their milk shakes. They looked great. Our server was very nice. Steak 'n Shake may be considered fast food by some, but we enjoyed this meal much more than a Mc Donald's, Burger King or Wendy's fast food meal.

We stopped at the drive-thru for breakfast. A very nice lady took our order and after waiting a while, which is totally worth our time, we received our fresh, hot food. It was delicious, and with our coupon, it was very reasonable. I think it would have been a good price even without the coupon. The parking lot and outside of the building looked very clean and nice. We would eat here again.

Horrible service and the food is of the same quality you would get if you went to the McDonald's across the street. Two stars because the shakes are awesome, the only good thing about the place.

It's a standard steak n shake. Strip mall, stand alone with its own parking lot and a drive thru. Maybe it's because I went on a weekday around dinner time, but it's pretty quiet. The staff was really friendly and checked up on us regularly. The staff brought out to-go boxes since they saw us with half sandwiches left. Food is pretty standard. I think recently, they've reduced their prices and the server mentioned that all sandwiches come with fries. They've added some more burger items which are cheaper than the Frisco Melt, which is what I usually get. Plus, additional beef hot dog items. Obviously, it's not destination dining, but for late night, it'll do.

Terrible service. Don't come here past 7:00pm bc the 16 year olds that work the night shifts are rude and always ruin my order. Also, the food is never served warm/hot when you go through the drive thru. I have nothing good to say about this steak and shake.

chalk another one up for the chains, Steak n Shake is one of the better FF places out there.... and, a little known fact for the uninitiated: They have a snack pack for about 2$ that is a single burger, small fry and small pop. Great lunch deal for those who aren't so keen on downing a gallon of pop and a pound of fries when you've got a load of work to do the rest of the day.

This Stake N Shake is disguised as a Jimmy Johns and they only serve Jimmy Johns here. Creative marketing I guess.

Standard chain hamburger place. Food is decently priced. This location tends to attract drunken frat wannabies at night who are loud, obscene, and like to pick fights. The staff, overall, is friendly.

OH My god! I had the worst experience here. Steak & Shake is ok, but this location needs some improving. On a Friday night around 8pm we go through the drive thru. We are sitting there which seems like forver with cars behind us. Eventually we think the speaker must be broken and pull up to the window. Eventually a lady comes to the window, opens it and in broken English shouts at us "inside only!" Then slams the window. There is no note on the drive thru speaker, no manager in sight, and no way to put our order in unless we go in the crowded inside. Not the first hassle with this location, but we will not be back.
