I just ordered a roast beef sandwich- of which half of the roast beef was fat! Gross! This one is so close to my home which is unfortunate. I'd rather drive a little further to get better quality. My sandwich orders are usually wrong from this location.

This is a pretty decent Jimmy Johns, the employees are friendly and the food is usually great. I come here for lunch all the time, due to the fact that its is the only place that is not only fast enough for my half hour lunch, and at the same time it does not make me feel sick like most fast food places. The only gripes I have with this place is sometimes the bread can be a little under, or over cooked. Also occasionally they seem to be short in staff, which at lunch time, it can become very hectic. When that happens, this place loses its speedy turn around.

First and LAST time our group orders from JJ's (at least this location), and we will never recommend it to others. One star because the customer service was WRETCHED. I work at a large business in the area, and we do frequent catering orders, some of which can get fairly hefty. We have ordered frequently with other soup/salad/sandwich type competitors to the JJ's chain. Monday, our admin attempted to place a small 9 sandwich order for an anniversary celebration. The person the lunch was for had specifically requested JJ's. The admin went to place an online order, but noticed there was no ability to place special requests (one person had something specific on their order). No problem, the admin thinks, "I'll call up and ask." WRONG. She called, and NOT during the lunch rush - it was after that time. Point 1) the person on the phone had difficulty communicating in English. Point 2) the person asked to put admin on hold, which is okay, JUST NOT FOR TWENTY MINUTES. Yes, the person put the phone down on the counter FOR TWENTY MINUTES. My admin could hear music playing and food being made. I think she should have hung up far sooner, but again, JJ's was specifically requested by our anniversary-celebrant and the admin was not aware at that time that there was a different JJ's location we could go to in the area. The admin finally just placed the order online and made a note to call the shop Tuesday (yesterday) with the one specific request. On Tuesday, when we both went to pick up the order at 11, we were the only individuals in line. The admin asked to speak to the manager, and she strongly suspects it was the same person who placed her on the counter for twenty minutes because again, there was difficulty communicating. We didn't get so much as an apology. Just an "Oh, oh, that's too bad" and can we basically pay now? The other associates in the store, who were listening, looked far more embarrassed that what the manager did. We then went further and contacted corporate as listed on the JJ's website. My admin just spoke with someone this morning who coordinates between the store and the franchise owner and it was about the same: "gee we're really sorry and we'll talk to the manager". I'm sorry, but that's just not going to cut it. We should have at least had a discount or credit given to us as incentive to give them another try. JJ's has lost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in potential repeat business from a large corporation for catering orders. I know for sure that neither I nor my admin will recommend this location to any other staff in our building. We will continue to order from Panera and Einstein's as they have better service and make amends when a problem arises that was not of their client's making.

This Jimmy John's often makes me freak, but not for their advertised reasons. I have consistently poor experiences here and yet it's so close to home that I can't ignore its convenience. They do not have posted hours, which makes any attempt to procure a sandwich in the evening a shot in the dark. On one hand, I understand wanting the flexibility to close if you're slow, but on the other hand, customer service. The music in this location is so loud it's difficult to hear the staff when ordering. I know this is a "thing" for this chain - loud music in an upbeat environment - but most have found a sweet spot where you don't have to yell across the register. The staff often seem startled when someone walks in (maybe they also don't know the hours?) and it can take several minutes for them to determine who is playing which role. I had the strangest experience here around the holidays. They were having their staff holiday party during working hours so they were clustered together in the back and someone would have to peel away when a customer came in. It also became obvious as I waited for my order that they were using the bread warmers to warm personal food brought into the restaurant. I'm fairly certain that's a health code violation.

Why isn't zero stars an option!? Ordered 4 sandwiches and a pickle for lunch at a local business. The delivery took over an hour and a half! If we knew they weren't freaky fast, we wouldn't have tried ordering during our scheduled lunch time. When the sandwiches finally arrived, 2 out of the 4 were incorrect. They also forgot the pickle. We called the manager, thinking that this is unacceptable and the order should be freaky FREE but he was unapologetic, stated they were down a driver, and that there was nothing he can do. If you have 2 hours to wait for your lunch, the subs, overall, are not bad; however, if you have that much time I'm sure there are better options for you to enjoy.

Minus one star for Jimmy John's in Waukegan. I work down the street in a dental office and we placed a large order for delivery last Friday. Unfortunately, they got one of our sandwiches wrong and gave us a Slim 6 (bread with provolone cheese) instead of a Skinny 6 (veggie sandwich). When we called to inform them of the error, they said that they would bring us a Skinny 6 but we would have to return the Slim 6 AND give them $1 because that is the difference in price for the two sandwiches! What kind of customer service is that?!? They should have let us keep both and our $1 since it was their mistake! Wow, is all I have to say.

A year or so ago, a co-worker and I stopped by to pick up a couple sandwiches. It was past the corporate lunch rush so the place was nearly empty. The service, however, was so slow and we didn't not get our "subs so fast that we freaked". It really was the worst service I've had at a JJ's location that I filed a complaint via the website. Since then, nearly every time I've gone to this location, the place was fully staffed and the service was improved.
