Location: It is a bit hard to find because my GPS put me right in front of a soccer field for some reason. Keep going down to the end of the street and you'll see a banner that says "pizza" near the entrance to their parking lot and across from some residential houses. The restaurant looks like a small house and is right next to a church. I walked in at 6pm on a Wednesday night and was hesitant for a second because I was the only person there. It worried me for a bit but before I could even process the surrounding, I was quickly and warmly greeted by one of the owners. Looking at the menu, I knew I wanted the Grigliata, grilled octopus, calamari and shrimp as an app. but had no idea how awesome it would be. By far, the most perfectly cooked/grilled seafood I've ever had on top of a bed of greens, olive oil, garlic and fresh squeezed lemon. This could easily have been a meal, especially with the warm basket of bread to soak up the oil mixture. Get this and share it with fellow seafood lovers and you won't be disappointed. I also ordered the rigatoni amatriciana which had pancetta mixed in the perfect red sauce. Yum! I can't stress how much the owner (the son) was concerned with my dining experience and made every effort for me to feel welcomed. In the middle of him running around, making pizzas and taking phone calls, I found out that the restaurant has been around for only 2 years. However, his family has been a vital part of the Italian Culture Center and the nearby community for a much longer time, cooking up delicious Italian dishes when they finally decided to open up an actual restaurant. It definitely has a real Italian feel, with his family walking in and out of the kitchens to the point where I felt like I was eating at their house. While waiting for my food I ended up watching Wheel of Fortune with his super Italian mother who would say cute things in English at the TV contestants. I would highly recommend trying this place out. Come show some support to some lovely people who really need it.
I enjoyed the food . Great authentic Italian restaurants a hidden treat . You will enjoy it.
This is a family owned and run restaurant adjacent to Casa Italia in Stone Park. If you're looking for ambiance, this is definitely the wrong place. The interior reminds you of a banquet hall. But, if really good Southern Italian food at really reasonable prices are what you crave, you'll be very pleased here. The menu is reasonably diverse with antipasti, soup, salads, pastas, pizza (red and white), sandwiches and a couple of entrees. The night we dined, there were also a couple of specials written on a white board. Ten different pastas range in price from $10.95 for Spaghetti Pomodoro to $18.95 for Linguine Pescatora. Another option is the Build Your Own Pasta, where you choose your pasta and your sauce for $14.95. My wife tried one of the specials, Crab meat Ravioli with Vodka Sauce, which was really tasty. I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca. We started our meal with the La Salsiccia pizza, one of the many on the menu. This is the best pizza I have had in a long, long time. When I mentioned this to the owner, he suggested that it's the brick oven, and based upon the crispiness of the crust and the tangy tomato taste, who am I to question that. The owner is a native of Palermo, Sicily, and he and his family not only provide excellent food and reasonable prices, but there is a personal touch in the service they provide. It almost feels like you're walking into their home. In addition to several tables inside, there are additional tables on an outdoor patio that seems like an excellent option on a nice evening. We will definitely return to try other menu options.

From out of the state and wanted some decent mexican food. Found Cilantro's on Yelp and glad I did. A small hole-in-the-wall, but awesome food! Had steak tacos and they were perfect. Would highly recommend.
We tried this place on a whim since we were coming back from O'Hare airport and I loved it! I got a steak burrito a vanilla churro and a chocolate flan cake and they were all delicious! If you're ever out that way towards O'Hare go ahead and try this place out for good Mexican food!
This is a sweet find! Love this place. It is a small, hole-in-the-wall place that most people drive by, but it is great. Not a whole lot of seating in the winter, but they have a nice outside patio for the warmer months. They have a great menu with excellent food. I have the Cilantro Platter which is a Taco, a Tamale and a Quesadilla. You can choose between wheat or corn tortillas, and you can also chose your meat. Comes with Rice & Beans. Under $8 for lunch is awesome! I had the Steak Taco which was simple and yet extremely flavorful. The Chicken Tamale was excellent, and the Quesadilla was fantastic. I even ate all of my rice and beans, which I don't normally do. And then there are the three sauces. The red sauce has excellent flavor, but not kick to it. The first green sauce is creamy, and has a bit of a kick. The other green sauce has a good kick, and is also extremely flavorful. I had a burrito once, and it was huge, dripping, and full of amazing flavor! They also have pickled veggies on the counter. Carrots, onions and peppers. I love this place!

The wife wanted to go to this place. I have visited other Islas Marias but never this site. I must say it was a dissapointment. First off, they had a live band playing, at noon!! So having a conversation was hard since the band kept playing and the drunk guys there were totally loving it. We had little kids so that was hard. The food was OK, nothing too great. The shrimp empanadas were too greasy and with scarce shrimp inside of them. I had the shrimp cocktail, it wasnt all that great, very little shrimp in it. Not worth the price.
Nowhere near as bad as expected after reading earlier reviews. The place is cleaner than most taquerias, but it is nowhere near as cheap. If you are stuck in this industrial area a outside Chicago, you could do a lot worse. Your meal comes with tostadas in a basket with Saltines and a ceviche-like substance to scoop up. The salsa verde has a decent amount of heat. Almost everything on the menu involves shrimp somehow, probably a nod to the region around Nayarit, Mexico. My Garlic Shrimp involved what seemed to be jarred garlic and not amazingly-fresh shrimp. But the rice and sides were amazing. The place wasn't packed, but there was a mariachi band. My service was great, despite my horrid reenactments of Spanish lesson monologues when ordering.
So far I've come here three times, and I will probably continue to return. This place is so yummy, and I've had good service so far, except for one cocky waitress. I like the ceviche, and the camarones rancheros! Watch out for that green salsa though, too spicy.
