We stopped here because of several Yelp reviews. We were a little surprised at the location (truck stop), but trusted the reviews. My husband had the chicken fried chicken and loved it. The chicken was crispy but not dry, and the mashed potatoes were real! In addition, he ordered a piece of blackberry pie and said it was the best he ever had! I, on the other hand, was not so lucky. I ordered the broiled chicken breast - flavor wise it was good, but the texture was rubbery. Fortunately, it came with a salad so I didn't go hungry. We would definitely stop here again.

Good food, good people. Don't let the location fool you. Grab the crispy fried chicken, worth the wait and heart attack.

All around perfect diner. They are inexpensive and everything is made from scratch. No instant potatoes here. Many many choices. Greek restaurant at its best. Don't be fooled by the truck stop exterior. Pecan pie is some of the best anywhere.

The food was great I had a buffalo chicken horseshoe.... And they gave out free biscuits that where delicious! However! I had to ask the waitress 3 times to bring me a refill and our food including the appetizer was brought out together so the table was a mess... Definitely a take out restaurant! -2 stars subtracted for bad service.

Star 66 Cafe, if it was legal to marry a restaurant, I'd marry you and we'd have breakfast and homemade fried chicken babies. That's how much I love you. What really started off this experience right was the fact that they are located inside of a truck-stop, which means...truck parking galore! Nothing better than finding roadside cafe's where we're actually allowed to park. Although we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to open up (they are THAT popular), we were seated and immediately greeted by our kind waitress. Ordered two teas (which were fantastic and strong, just like I like my tea) and perused the menu. My husband decided on the "Sunrise Special" which came with fluffy biscuits and gravy, three eggs over medium and two strips of bacon. He devoured it in seconds and was full for most of the day. I overheard two other people ordering their "famous homemade fried chicken" so I followed suit and ordered the same. It was wonderful, flaky, juicy, and so delicious. Mine came with fresh corn, mashed potatoes with gravy and a warm roll. I was wary of the light brown gravy on top of the potatoes but it was awesome. I'm ordering this again! Star 66, I'll be back....and soon.

So this restaurant made me so grateful for yelp reviews! We wouldn't have known about this place but it was amazing. Huge menu, super friendly staff. And food was soooooo good!

For the money, you can't beat Star 66. The thing that impressed me was that the cook actually read the ticket, and cooked my bacon CRISPY, like I asked. The fact that they serve breakfast all day puts it higher up on my list. Nothing fancy though, it IS a truck stop diner.

If I were just rating the food I would give this restaurant 5 stars. The lasagna was the best I think I have ever had. I live near The Hill in south St Louis which is the Italian section of our city and this lasagna even tops the finest restaurants there. It had all the right components, cheesy, saucy, meaty, bursting with flavor. It came with a side salad with homemade ranch dressing and a slice of garlic toast for $8.49 (unheard of). My friend ordered 1/2 fried chicken which is the restaurants claim to fame. That chicken looked and smelled delicious. It also had all of the right components, crispy skin, juicy meat, seasoned perfectly. It came with soup or salad, he chose the chicken noodle soup that was homemade and real good. The sides were mashed potatoes which were real mashed potatoes, however not seasoned well and were watery and green beans, again no seasoning there either. But the star was the chicken so it is easy to overlook the lack of seasoning on the sides. Now for the downside, all four of the wait staff were behind the counter bad mouthing the other employees that were not present. I don't really need to hear the politics of the restaurant. Seems there is discontentment with the employees. One of the waitresses said "I'm not going to lick anyone's a$$", really???? I'm eating here. Even though our waitress was in on the gossip, she was VERY friendly and curtious at our table and I do appreciate that. The decor was old dated country truckstop diner, which is what I expected but hey I even liked that. Reminds me of days gone by. Our tab included the meals and coffee and was only $20.15, I am taking note of this place and will definitely go back!

Awesome food and tons of it. Be sure to save room for homemade pie. Also ask for Hannah. One of the best waitresses we've ever had.

Amazing. Not just good for a truck stop. Everything you order here is fresh and delicious. Huge menu, if you can't find it on there, it is not diner food! I am very particular about how my eggs are cooked and they got them just right. Stopping here will not disappoint!!!!

I am an Over The Road truck driver and have been coming here for 6 years now. The tilapia is fresh, the mashed potatoes are real, the soups are amazing, most of the desserts are homemade, the location is superb and the staff are super friendly. I love this place and will continue to travel out of my way to come back again and again!

Love the food, Italian owned and operated the menu is large for a small family diner, Lot's of choices from 24 hour breakfast to homemade Italian dishes. The deserts are to die for, another great spot to add to my favorites!

Kind of hard to rate the Star Sixty-Six Café. It's a very friendly place with very average food. We had breakfast there. The omelets tasted of the oil they were cooked in. Toast is plain, and the potatoes very good. The decaf coffee was way too mild. Very friendly place with gemütlichkeit!
