My husband and I are normally Denny's eaters, however on our trip to Springfield I suggest IHOP because I had a huge cravings for Crepes. My husband got a Mexican omelet, and the food was amazing. The crepe, wasn't what i thought it was, but it was still delicious. The service was amazing, and the waitress was really a sweet person. My husband and I liked it so much we went back a week later. He had the same thing, while I had French toast. I was happily surprised by my eggs, i rarely eat overeasy eggs at restaurants, as they never cook them right. However, they cook made them better than I ever could at home, nice and yoky and no uncooked parts. The service was sup-par, but the waitress was friendly and got us our food. We had gone before with a group of friends over a year ago. We did have an issue with getting our waitress to the table, I went and complained to the hostess, and we were comped with free drinks, which was nice. My husband and i will defiantly be back.

We stopped for a sandwich. 8:15pm. Seated and by 8:40 no one had been to our table. People came in after us, were seated and drink order taken. We got up, walked out, not one server was aware we left. I guess there is a reason there were only 2 tables occupied. Done with this place. Went down the street to Denny's. Seated immediately, drink order taken, food order taken. All in less than 5 minutes and a very friendly server.

My grandfather is in the hospital and we ran to IHOP because the cafeteria was closed and it was late (9:30ish pm). The problem was not with the waitress, she was great, maybe slightly slow, but her section was surprisingly full. THE MANAGER. This guy started to help us ring out so we could leave and go be with my grandfather, but this rude....person, I'm not even going to call him a man, childish temper and behavior, ....walked away from us and started seating a sudden stream of people. 4 TIMES he walked away. I finally said "can we get rang out so we can get back to the hospital? " He wanted to know who are waitress was and went to go get her to force her to ring us up. That was just unbelievable. It took 5 seconds!! Not to mention my grandmother's biscuits and gravy were two flat, overcooked biscuits and a thin watery gravey with NO sausage whatsoever. I'd avoid this place. I think we should've risked starving.

My son used to take his wife and myself here every Mother's Day from 2008-2011. But just like his marriage deteriorated, so has this restaurant. I hadn't been here in a few years. I will probably never return. Our waitress was a goof. She couldn't tell shit from piss. I kept looking at the elderly couple sitting next to us wondering why she was eating and he wasn't. Come to find out, she got her food 15 minutes before his. Our food took almost an hour. My son passed the window looking for the restroom and saw our food sitting in there 20 minutes before it was served. It was cold, as in ice. My son didn't even get his fries until we were heading out the door. The waitress kept using corny apologies and giving us 20% off our bill for the trouble, but that didn't sell us the idea of ever returning. Springfield has a TON if good places for breakfast items, but this isn't one of them.

I just had the worst omelet I have had in 56 years. I ordered a garden omelet to be made with egg beaters. They were out of egg beaters so they used egg whites. What breakfast place runs out of eggbeaters on a Monday afternoon? The first omelet came out without any vegetables inside and just a few sprinkled on the top for a garnish. The next one came out with just a few more chopped veggies but was so greasy I couldn't eat it. This omelet was oily, buttery or slick from melted cheese, totally opposite from the healthy omelet I expected. The waitress argued with me saying it was not oil, it was water from the mushrooms. I explained I was 56 and knew the difference between water and oil so then she said it was butter not oil. I decided talking to her was a waste of breath so paid and left. I had heard this IHOP had trouble due to slow business and now I know why. Bad cooks/recipes and waitresses who argue with customers and don't try to make the dining experience right. I just got scammed for $14.11 for toast, 2 links of undercooked sausage, a soda and an omelet that wasn't edible. I paid for the meal, but no tip for a waitress with a bad attitude ... first time in 10 years at least that I have not left a tip. Also, I won't be back. Anyone looking for breakfast in Springfield, I recommend you trek across town to the IHOP off Dirksen Pkwy, Bakers Square, or Cracker Barrel for decent service and cooking plus other local places. There is no reason to put up with bad behavior with so many good and consistent dining choices. Whoever owns this IHOP should sit down with his employees and explain how lucky they are to have a job and to adjust their attitudes or the owner's investment will go down the drain as will the jobs of the employees. The 2 good parts of my experience today were the host who seated me and the toast I had was excellent, hence the one star.

Welcome to the neighborhood! We had a great dinner tonight and enjoyed the fact that the servers were far less surly than those on the other side of town. All items were prepared properly and arrived fresh and hot.

A great alternative with excellent service while on a road trip. It is iHop, but the staff will make it stand out a bit.

I have to disagree. The servers on Sunrise are more polite and respectful than the ones at Wabash. At Wabash I felt like a couple of them were goofing off, cussing, and not caring about the customers around them. The food was great but thought the service was amateur.

Whenever I think of breakfast I always think of iHop. It has every breakfast option available. Their food is great. It's open late. Their omelets are enormous and so good. They're service is overall good and they're pricing is very reasonable.

Let me tell you about this IHOP, I'm not from Springfield, but I stopped here for brunch with a friend..and we had the WORST service ever! Took us 20 mins to get waited on, and after our waitress only took our drink orders, she was gone for quite a while, then returned to take the orders of another table nearby who came after us!? we were ready to order and finally she did take our order but she was lazy and gave us such poor service I was very angry but did not say anything for the fact I was with a friend. When it takes over 20 mins to bring our ice water to the table? People who showed up after us were treated very well from what I could see. My eggs were cold and the bacon was not cooked to what I asked for. I did not give this waitress a tip at all because it was that bad. You get a tip based on their service and it was awful. Lucky for me I never have to go back to this IHOP again, but the one here in St. Louis is not much better at all. I cannot believe I'm saying this, but go to Denny's..there is one nearby I heard. Fail.

We usually go to the IHOP on Sunrise near Dirksen Pkwy in Springfield but decided to give this newer one a try again. My wife's first comment when I told her we were going there was " I really don't like that place because it's dirty". We arrived at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was less than 1/4 full at that time of day. We were promptly seated at a table and my wife was right. Tables on both sides of us had dirty dishes and dirty floors from previous diners. I counted 5 tables around our area that were dirty. We ordered our food, it was delivered to the table in a reasonable amt of time, we ate it, and by the time we left the other tables had still not been cleaned off. We never have any problems ate the IHOP on Sunrise St. across from the Crown Plaza hotel so I guess in the future that is the one we will patronize.
