I really enjoyed my visit here today. My mother was in town from Phoenix and figured I would take her out for some authentic deep dish. It was a toss up between Lou's and Georgio's. I figured since we were closer to the Barrington location we would give it a shot. The service was great and the pizza came out scolding hot within 30 minutes. It was absolutely perfect. Probably the best deep dish I've had. Very impressed with this restaurant today and looking forward to retuning again in the future.
Georgio's does it right. The service here is always great and the pizza is always made fresh and served piping hot. Geogio's is one of the best deep dish pizzas in the area. They load it up with cheese and have a nice light crust. Unlike other places the crust here doesn't feel like it sits in your stomach for days. The service here is also always great. They are good with refills and always friendly. The cheese stix here are also very good. They have a slight hint of garlic which gives them a great flavor. The dinning room is inviting and has plenty of tvs around to catch up on the games. Over all Georgio's is one of the best Pizza places in the area.
This is the only place my husband and I will go for thin-crust pizza place in the vicinity of West Dundee. I wish they delivered! We usually get the medium pepperoni and giardiniera and have a few slices left to take home. I think the cost is a little high for pizza, but then again, it is in the Arboretum in South Barrington. We've also tried their deep-dish and the truffle fries, neither of which we are big fans off. But who can beat Emmett's truffle fries or Lou's deep dish? They have a good craft beer selection and the service is always prompt and with a smile.

Love, love loved it! Everything about this place was top notch! Love that the managers spend time at the tables, offering suggestions on the menu, love the little dish of olives that comes out with the bread- those little touches go a long way to making dinner that much more special. Our server Tracy was great- on the ball with everything and also offered some great suggestions on the menu. My husband ordered the Asparagus Risotto and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Rigatoni with Sausage and it was delicious! The noodles were al dente which was such a treat since most restaurants tend to overcook their pasta and it comes out limp and soggy. Decor in the restaurant is classy and elegant. I thought the prices for some menu items were a tad too high, so this isn't a restaurant I would come to often, but instead would save it more for a special occasion.
This rating could go up as we went for lunch. I had the slider trio Panini (Meatball, Filet, and veal) which was fantastic. My wife had the veggie Panini which she really liked. Can't wait to try dinner as they have live music on the weekend. Really nice relaxing décor with laidback jazz playing over the speakers.
The Schaumburg area is filled with chain restaurants. Even if they are high end, they are still chains. I can go a few miles and find the same steak houses or mexican restaurants that I see at the Arboretum or anywhere in Schaumburg. lnContro offers a family run restaurant with homemade pasta and sauces with recipes passed down through the generations. The service is wonderful. The bar is beautiful and offered entertainment the evening we were there. It was a man playing the guitar and singing covers. He was so good that at times I wasn't sure if it was just the radio or live music! Best tirimisu I have had in a LONG time. Light and fluffy marscapone with just the right amount of liquor to soak the ladyfingers. Definitely will be back.

The Lucky Monk is a great place to stop before or after a movie for some good eats and a cold beer. They can get pretty crowded on the weekends and parking will be a challenge. You should be good if visiting during the week though. My friend and I were seated at a table in the bar area. I was going through a healthy kick at the time I visited so I ordered a Waldorf Salad (but not before munching on some cheese curds - not exactly healthy). The Waldorf Salad was actually amazing and the blueberry cider I had (they had it in tap at the time that I visited) was surprisingly great. So catch an early movie and head to the Lucky Monk!
While working for a week in Schaumburg I made a visit to The Lucky Monk. Walked in and was promptly greeted by the hostess. Took a seat at a high table near the bar. My server greeted me (He resembled Jason Segal by the way) and I had already seen the menu online so I knew what I was looking for. HOWEVER. I was sadly disappointed when I went to order a beer. They said due to a busy week they didn't have any of their beer available. Only one. I opted for what they had. I was slightly disappointed. But nevertheless IF I ever make it back out to Illinois, I will stop by and give it another try
This place is delicious! I planned a party of 20 for a Friday night, and they were extremely accommodating! They were able to seat everyone at one table, provide separate checks and had multiple wait staff helping our group. The food and drinks were wonderful! We had a great time. Thank you, Lucky Monk!

Panera Bread

Reviews:
I love to visit this Panera. They have a relaxing atmosphere, as all Paneras do, but I especially like the layout. We've used it for our writing critique group meetings, but my daughter and I like to go there for our special dates, whether it's for a bagel or for lunch. (My husband and I also like to drop by there occasionally.) My favorites on the menu are the green iced tea, the strawberry smoothie, the asiago bagel, and every kind of scone they make.
I am not a fan of panera bread generally. That's probably because I worked at one during my teen years plus the panera near my home in DC is horrible and turned me off from all paneras in general. My friend wanted to grab some grub together (she treated) and this was the closest to where we had been hanging out that day. The store is located in the beautiful promenade on route 59. Lots of shopping in this area. From LOFT to sur la table! Here are the highlights: 1. Plenty of free parking (you gotta love the suburbs ) 2. Clean store 3. Friendly staff 4. Average soup 5. Above average salad (my Thai salad was awesome) 6. Unique decor (at least I've never seen such art in other panera breads). Most panera breads deserve a two star rating but this place earned itself a little more. Thanks for a decent experience
Fresh food, friendly service. Love having the option of Fresh food versus the standard fast food. This restaurant is clean and the service is quick, even during lunch hour. Location is convenient & easy to get to with plenty of parking. I really like the new flatbread sandwiches!

We decided to come here for my Aunt's birthday after finding out there was a 2 hour wait at Cooper's Hawk (my family usually goes there for lunch on weekends, so we had no idea it would be that busy on a weekday, but it is the last week of the year..) Any way, parking spaces around the restaurant were very limited so we parked far. There was no wait so we were seated right away, but it took about 5-7 minutes before our server stopped by our table and said "sorry, I'll be right with you." She wasn't as attentive as you would like your server to be throughout our stay. We told her we would be ordering an entrée to go and she said "tell me later, it will take about 5-7 minutes to prepare..." She wasn't even attentive with filling our glasses of water. Then, I think he was a manager? Evan? He attended to our table a lot due to the matter that I had an allergy to seafood. Jodie, our server, said she would check out the ingredients in our appetizers and entrées, but nothing appeared out of the blue.. until 30 minutes after we ordered and Evan came back and told me that there was fish sauce already mixed into my mango sauce in my entrée. He did discount my entrée. But we waited another 15 minutes for our entrées to come. The food looked amazing in color and smelled great. It was all delicious, but the time it took, when the restaurant was not packed was apparently not worth it. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern and I love the hanging lanterns, but it's super cold in the building! Every time someone opens the door, a huge gush of cold air flows in and even if there door isn't open, there is a breeze! Not sure if I will be recommending nor coming back any time soon. Very displeased this time around.
If I would have written a review after my first experience here, I would have given Wok 'n Fire 4 stars. This last visit left a bad taste in my mouth. The waiter was pretty terrible. We ordered drinks. I ordered a Drunken Pomegranate Ginger Ale and it was pretty bad. It was overly sweet and tasted flat. When the waiter finally came back, I told him. He offered to add soda water to give it carbonation, but I was afraid that would just make it taste watered down. He then offered to make me a different, so I ordered a Dragon's Milk. It was much better! For appetizers, we ordered soups. I enjoyed my Hot and Sour Soup. I was disappointed in my boyfriend's Spinach Egg Drop Soup that for some reason has no spinach in it. I asked the wiater about the missing spinach and he told me there is no spinach in Egg Drop Soup. I then asked when it is called "SPINACH Egg Drop Soup" then. That was our whole reason for trying it. It sounded different. Our noodle entree the first time was out of this world. The Signature Sushi Roll we ordered was just okay. The second time we returned, all the dishes were lacking. I had to add the red chili paste to all the dishes and I never add spice to my dishes. Even those that had the "spicy" sign next to them in the menu. Everything was lacking in flavor this time around. The Pad See Ewe was bland, so I added soy sauce. The Curry Wok Dish was bland and definitely not spicy. The Korean BBQ Dish was also bland. It did not come with much meat and the chunks of meat were cut huge. Too big to use with chopsticks. I had to first cut the chunk into three pieces before they could be eaten with chopsticks. I asked my waiter about a green bean dish, which was amazing our first time here. It was our major factor in us returning. He didn't know what we were talking about. Finally we found "Wrinkled Green Beans" under sides. They were okay this time, but not as amazing as I remembered them. The service took forever and our waiter was missing most the time. We kept having to ask bus boys and other wait staff when we wanted something, including the check. Overall, our dinner service took about two hours (and 2 people were an hour late, so I was there 3 hours). So why didn't I complain more when the manager stopped by? We were celebrating my grandma's birthday and I didn't want to cause a scene. Although, I did respond that the food was "okay..." instead of my usual "great" which I think should have tipped her off. That is why I gave them two stars instead of one. Well that and because no one got food poisoning and it is a cute atmosphere. And the birthday banana fritters they give you were pretty good! It is always disappointing when restaurants start out great and go downhill so quickly.
Love it here! Great quality sushi rolls at a reasonable price. Wednesdays from 4-9pm is 50% off specialty rolls...which is truly a fantastic deal. It's really nice inside. The service is really good. All the staff have been super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. It's super clean inside. Highly recommended.

rack of lamb was very good wife had fish which she says was great asparagus was very good, broccoli was a little mushy service was top notch althoug their handicap entrance is a little goofy. we were seated within 1 minute of our reservation all told good night
Generous wine pours, cold food. We went to Millrose at the invitation of friends. I had the salmon. The piece of salmon was small, smaller than the 6 oz portions you buy at the supermarket. It was lukewarm and sat on a mound of even colder mashed potatoes. Both items were flavorful, but they were too cold to enjoy. Because I was with friends, I did not want to make a fuss, so I took most of it home. Another friend at the table had the ribs which he also mentioned were cold. I am guessing they have lots of pre-prepared food which they reheat, but not very well, prior to serving. Never again will we eat here.
A country like feel to a classy restaurant. Located right across the street from the South Barrington AMC theatre and right off the I-90. Decor: A very clean and neat place first of all when you walk right in. Has a woodsy look to it which gives it that pure country Americana feel to it. It is a wonderful looking place that has a very cozy feel to it. Service: The service was impeccable and impressive. There is nothing that I could complain about when it came to the service. The wait staff was kind, polite and down to Earth. When you needed something they brought jt out right away. Absolutely excellent service. Food: The food was fantastic. I had the oven roasted chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I could tell the chicken was well seasoned amd had been cooking for a good while before being served. I always like places that care about quality over profits. Also the portions are extremely generous since they give you half a whole chicken. There had to be rosemary, pepper, salt and butter in the chicken. Can't go wrong with this dish here! Price: I can't tell what the price was since I went here for a wedding party. However, you can always call in and ask for the prices. Overall experience: A very good place with good food and excellent service. I had a wonderful time!
