Friday dinner with my other half. It was crowded but we were seated right away, at a two-top in the main dining room. Ambience: Cool brick walls and lovely lighting; seems to be going for a rustic modern look. Sound seemed to bounce off the walls a bit, though, which made it hard to have a conversation at times. After dinner the bar was way too loud, with the sports channel blasting commercials (they must have forgotten to change the channel when the Hawks game was over.) Service: our waitress was just so-so. She was attentive and came by often to refill our wine and take more orders, but she looked and sounded like she was bored, and she definitely wasn't engaging. Food: Some good, some average, and one really bad. The mussels were outstanding and came in a lovely wine sauce. The pizzette supposedly came with mixed seafood, but we counted all of five tiny pieces of clams. Then, thinking we were still hungry, we ordered the grilled polenta with mushroom sauce. The polenta was bland, and the mushroom resembled thick, pasty biscuits and gravy that has been sitting around a T&A truck stop buffet for days. Overall, I like the concept of nice wines, beers and small plates, but they need to step up the friendliness of the service as well as get some new chefs.

Great food, great service, very friendly staff, reasonable prices. Had Fried olives stuffed with Gorgonzola , charcuterie platter, mussels ( fantastic !) and a pizzette . They were "small plates" but there was plenty to share. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I have been going to 1913 since their opening night earlier this year. My credit card statement tells me that I have been there about once a month. I have always found that it was a great dining experience. I think that there were some initial growing pains, primarily the reservation policy and food service in the bar area, both of which have been resolved. I could go on about the food in general, but most of the reviewers have commented about the small plates etc. What I have discovered is that the seafood items are outstanding! I mean downtown Roselle, who da thunk? Last night we had the salmon swordfish combo and it was fantastic. We have had the mussels a number of times and they have been out of this world, and the slice of french bread in the bottom of the bowl is something special. The wine list is a fairly expansive collection of reasonably priced French and Italian wines. Roselle locals should support 1913 as the immediate area is a culinary wasteland, save 8000 Mile and Hacienda de Roselle! Finally Bring back the Bread Salad!

Hmmmm hard to write this buttttt pork shoulder had a very off putting smell.. 4 cheese pizza was great. Lobster Mac n cheese was dry( I'm used to capital grille, maybe I'm spoiled?;) shrimp was ok.... No food served in the bar really?? I know harsh review but I give this place a year... The gelato was amazing but they don't make it....Too pricey, when I'm paying over $100+ for a meal ( which I do frequently) I expect it to be good... This however was not

So glad Roselle finally has a restaurant that's got excellent food with a city restaurant feel to it. The owners and wait staff are pleasant and professional. Outside seating is available and lovely. Perfect for a date night or to catch up with friends.

We had dinner here on sat.night. the hostess was very sweet, the atmosphere was really nice and our waiter was wonderful. As for the food, what we ordered was just okay for the price. The portions were small and we left still a little hungry. We had the mussels appetizer which was good. My boyfriend had the shrimp with pasta and goat cheese. Very short on the pasta. I had the scallops which were good however they only gI've you 3 smal/med ones. I also ordered a side of spinach and garlic. Again no taste and it was swimming in oil so i didnt finish it.. The risotto my scallops came with was flavorless. We had the chocolate cake which was so dry for desert. I was excited about this restaurant but all in all it was to pricey for what the give you.

Everything from the wine to the gelato was amazing! We make homemade ricotta and theirs was just as good and fresh! Everything has so many different flavored that go great together! Can't wait to go back

Had a great meal this evening. Since there were 8 of us, we got a great sampling of the menu. Everything, including desert, was fantastic. We shared it all. A great wine and beer list and awesome menu with small plates and entrees. I highly recommend and will return many times!

I loved this place!! I went here on a Tuesday night around 6 oclock with one friend. I got the mushroom pizza and it was delicious! It was a lot of food for only about $11. My friend got the lobster mac and cheese which was about $13 and delicious as well! The wait staff knew a lot about the drink options and seemed very knowledgeable about both the drink and food menu. We each got an entree, 2 glasses of wine, and then a dessert to split. In total our bill was only about $60 with tip. We were very surprised and happy with that! I would've thought it was going to be more. So worth it and will definitely be back! Also, the table next to us had 4 adults and 3 young kids and they seemed like they go there a lot so it would say to me it's a good place for kids and groups!

Food was good but not great.... They needed more help. Our waiter was over booked with tables. Poor guy. It was VERY VERY cold..... Me and my girlfriend ate dinner with our coats on :(

Nothing exciting. My food was so bland i couldn't even eat it. Im super disappointed and I hoped for so much more. The best part was the fries. Can you believe that?! Plus our server was so concerned about her larger table of 10-12 people that she forgot about even taking our money. All the other servers have addressed their tables around us 3x's more than our server has come to us. I give 2 stars just for the wine. I'd just go next door to 8000 miles instead of here. Honestly thats exactly what we are going to do. And we just spent $140. Bummer.

After a second dining experience, I did want to update my review. I originally gave it 3 stars for ok food and decent service. I'm going to assume that perhaps my first experience was a one off ( maybe the chef called in sick who knows ), but this time the food was great! However, I did stay away from everything I ordered last time to avoid a repeat. The only item I took another chance on - was the cheese/meat board which was great a second time around. The desert also came out fresh and on point, we got the rice pudding and creme brûlée. Pizza is great, when in doubt here - get pizza! Escargot was just ok, but only because I've had better. We also had the herb chicken, pork belly, and scallops none disappointed. Service, last time was better.

The food was excellent and the wait staff was excellent as well. It was a Saturday night and with a full restaurant, the noise level was just short of painful. They should definitely consider putting in some decorative noise absorbing material as the wood and brick just resonates the level of conversational noise to an unacceptable level. We will not return on a weekend.

Food was good, service was very attentive. Please figure out a way to fix the noise issues. It'll increase the customer service and customer experience overall.

Several people in my neighborhood had spoken highly of this restaurant. We were excited it was so close to home as we live 5 minutes away. We finally went last night for dinner with my parents. There were 6 of us including our two kids, and we were seated immediately. The food is served in a sort of tapas-small plates style. We ordered several dishes including the lobster mac and cheese (delicious) and the mussels (It's been a long time since I've had mussels this good). The waitress suggested the mushroom polenta dish. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was and was glad we took her recommendation. The wine was excellent too. The people that were there seemed to be having a great time. It was just the right amount of loud--I want to be around people having a good time instead of in a place that makes you feel self-conscious for laughing too loudly. The restaurant itself was beautiful inside. We loved it, and we'll definitely be back.

We've been several times for dinner and will return frequently. The grilled romaine salad is awesome as well as most everything else we've tried. Service is good. The owner is friendly and makes a point to visit our table. Very good wine list and the desserts are great.

Happy to report the service weirdness here seems to have been rectified. I came by for drinks and dessert a few weeks ago--something I always feel a little nervous about, as I know from my past waitressing that it can be disappointing, as a server, to get a much smaller tab than expected. Happily, our waitress was completely pleasant when we told her our plan and was a total delight the rest of the evening. A friend I've visited 1913 with also went recently and had a similarly improved experience. Hoping for good things from this place!

I have gone to 1913 twice and both times were very enjoyable. I love the wine list and we could order a decent bottle for a decent price. The first time we went, we had the scallops, lobster mac and cheese and escargot. The scallops and escargot were amazing. I didn't care for the lobster mac and cheese. I thought it was a little dry. The second time I went I had the crab cakes with fries, which were amazing and the angel hair pasta which was also very good. I had the gelato both times I went. I have been to Italy and tasted the gelato over there. Let me tell you 1913 was very close to the gelato in Italy. I love this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

After previous review, someone from 1913 responded on Yelp to let me know they had changed their policy on the bar dining on weekends. The menu is now available at the bar at all times. I commend the management for addressing such an obvious problem and reaching out to inform guests of the change. I will be in soon to enjoy some dinner solo at the bar!

The fried olives were great, the prosciutto arugula pizza buonissimo along with the wine. The owners were very nice as well.

Don't normally do online reviews but today was not a good dining experience! Apparently even a decent place must have an off day. Dined there today and experienced a big disappointment across the board. First of all, gettng anyone to take our drink order in the bar was a challenge this evening. The partners chatted up customers but we sat and waited. If I was a partner, I'd focus on customers getting served! Now onto a pet peeve... I always check all wine glasses for lip prints and smudges, even at home! Yes, call me anal retentive, but I do check! Today, I sent one glass back because of crusty stuff on the glass. Bartender brought another glass of wine. This time around, the stem base was crusty. Doesn't anyone check these before use? Anyway, I sent it back. I was comped a drink. Management couldn't be bothered to come to the table personally. Note to mgmt: Please ensure clean glasses and I'll happily pay for my own drinks! No table side visit required! I look forward to dining out 4-5 times a week and 1913 happens to be a restaurant of choice. Today's service made me rethink something...going there too frequently increases the chances of a disappointing experience. It may be time to take a break. One more note to mgmt...Please don't get too smug or comfortable in your success; even good things fail.

Great place and wine list. Atmosphere is just wherenit needs to be. However this is my second time coming here . We decided to give them second try because we live in the area. However we got the same results. Food is awful. Pizzas are greasy and bacon uncooked. The filet medalion were dry and over cooked. We expected more by this place.

Very original menu with outstanding flavors. Local owners who great you by name with a warm smile. Excellent values on the wine list. Fast friendly service and dinner for two with drinks won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I was SO pleased with the meal at 1913. I took my dad for his birthday. He's a foodie, wine specialist, and cocktail connoisseur so it's always nerve-wracking to dine with him. Aside from a "mediocre" old-fashioned and pork belly that wasn't cooked correctly, everything else was great. The house-made ricotta with honey was unreal. The creamed corn is the best I've had. The star of the meal was the pork shoulder over polenta. I wanted to lick my bowl. He had the same and said it was "wonderful." The pork is cooked with dried cherries, which adds a juicy burst of tartness every few bites. We were stuck between two different bottles of Sancerre, and asked the waiter for a recommendation. He suggested the Chateau Sancerre; It was delish. We had zeppoles for dessert. I didn't expect much but ate three of them. The texture is crunchy on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside. Great meal. I'll definitely be back!

There's one thing that I have to update because it's about the single largest complaint that I'm seeing about 1913, and it's been fixed... THE BAR IS NOW SERVING FOOD ON THE WEEKENDS! ALL WEEKEND! Patrons rejoice. Also there are new menu items since I last posted and they are great. With that said, I will now re-post my original review, edited for this update. ************************** 1913 is an Italian tapas restaurant with a wonderful selection of wine, craft beer, and premium spirits. It's a great date spot with excellent service that offers an upscale atmosphere and experience for a surprisingly reasonable price. There are maybe a couple of hangups to 1913, but I think but they are totally forgivable in light of the big picture. Also, I can't bring myself to dock them a star because the people there are just way too nice. 1913 has overtaken the storefront that once belonged to one of (I would argue) the worst restaurants in Roselle, the ironically-named "Impecca." Admittedly, my opinion of Impecca was so low for so many reasons that after they closed shop and 1913 opened, my residual discontent for the former occupant kept me from giving 1913 a chance. At this point, after 6 visits to 1913, I see my anger for the foolishness that it truly was. 1913 is a really successful concept with so much to offer. The food is great and affordable. I have not had anything I didn't like, and everything that I have tried just seems to hook me even more. I love good escargot, and theirs is outstanding. But then I tried the roasted mushrooms (my wife ordered them, actually- I don't even care that much for mushrooms) and just about died of joy. The pork shoulder and polenta was very good, but then I had the Duck confit pizza (DUCK CONFIT PIZZA!!!! FOR $13!!!!) and I new that 1913 had something that only they could give me. Sweet mercy that pizza is amazing. My wife, however, would argue that even that pizza is not as good as the homemade sausage pizza, and while I can't be sure if I wholeheartedly agree, I will also recommend it without the slightest hesitation. For dessert, try the zeppoles- house made doughnut holes with real cold custard and warm chocolate dipping sauces. The plates are small, but rich and flavorful, so it's easy to fill up. The bill, with drinks, probably won't run much more than it might at a place like Maggiano's or Macaroni Grill, and the food is so much better. 1913 has a really terrific bar too. Wines are largely French and Italian, and you can drink by the glass or by the bottle. There's also a really really great selection of craft beers, including one of my all-time favorites, Unibroue's Fin du Monde. It's a full bar with a lot of top shelf stuff to enjoy. I was also excited to see that they have Campari bitter liquor- a lot of places don't have it, and I'm a big bitters fan so this was a huge win. This is not a sports bar. They have a couple TVs in the bar area that do usually have sports on, but it's not a sports bar. It's a wine bar. It's meant for conversation. In fact, the spirit of the whole restaurant seems centered around conversation and culinary exploration with people you care about. And if you go it alone, the servers and bartenders are all too happy to recommend food and talk to you about how you're enjoying your meal. And the managers seem equally involved. Everyone seems to care that you're having a great experience. Food is one of those rare near-universal things that brings people together whether you're eating or not- and it's refreshing to see a place in the burbs that knows how to bring that out in their restaurant. My only complaint is that they aren't open for lunch, even on weekends. I hope that's just a temporary strategy until they pick up more traffic- after all, as I write this, they are still fairly new. Whatever the reasons, they are fine with me, because at the end of the day I don't know how to make duck confit pizza and 1913 certainly does. If you had told me even a few years ago that Roselle would offer dining expereinces like this, I wouldn't have believed you. 1913 is an exciting change of pace, and definitely worth a visit. Enjoy.

I'm teetering between a 3 or 4 star for 1913, but I decided to give them a 4 because of certain reasons. First off, I will say this restaurant is definitely meant for couples, or very small groups of people. There small plate are where it's at! Each one we tried was great! We got the lobster mac and cheese (phenomenal), braised pork shoulder, medallions, and meatball sliders all of which were great! But, we had 5 people with us so it was very limited with how much we could eat. The small plates are pricy, so if you want to get your money's worth, I recommend only going with one other person. Because there were 5 of us, we got a main dish as well which was ok, but not stellar like their small plates were. I do not recommend the campenelle (chicken with vodka cream sauce). Plain and dry. I got the Champagne Risotto with pan seared scallops which was fairly good but not great. Stick to the small plates. But, don't get me started with the salted caramel gelato. A must try if you go here! It was amazing. I was in heaven while eating it! Now, they've definitely got some service bugs to work out. This is why I would like to give them a 3 but their amazingly sweet and nice hostess makes up for that. She was awesome and made sure we were taken care of while we were waiting for our table. Which leads me to my next complaint. We waited for 40 min in the bar area for our table to ready. Not a big deal with a brand new restaurant opening in pretty much a restaurant desert. BUT, the bar area is half the size of the restaurant AND has plenty of large tables and the do not serve food at the bar. Are you kidding me? I saw so many people walk out and go somewhere else when they were told they couldn't eat at the bar. Figure that out and you'll get more business! And no Lynfred wine...really? I know they're sticking with the italian and french theme but you have an AMAZING winery right down the street and you're not going to utilize it. WHY? I hope they work their service out because this place has GREAT potential in this area. The atmosphere is amazing (original hard wood floors, exposed brick)... beautiful, the food was delicious (the small plates at least)! But their service could really turn people away.

Though I appreciate that Roselle is upping it's game in the restaurant business, I didn't find anything terribly memorable about this place. The wine was okay, service was decent, the food was pretty good. There wasn't much else to judge on. I know there are a lot of places out there that want their food to speak for the restaurant, but if your food isn't mouth-wateringly incredible, have something to tack on to your name that will make you memorable. I would probably come back here, as it is one of the better places to eat when I visit family in Roselle. But I wouldn't go here again if it weren't for it being a couple of miles down the road.

Roselle really needs more good restaurants and I really wanted to write a great review. Having read the mixed bag of reviews I was hopeful that some people just hit an off day. Instead I found they were spot on. No food service in the bar seemed just odd and the TV's were distracting. Our server was ok but the food was bland. Generally with small plates you order a few, then order more if needed. Our server seemed to think this was a strange concept. The prices were way too high for Roselle. I've eaten small plates in Chicago and our total bill with cocktails was less than we paid here. If we're going to spend that kind of money, I want an exceptional rather than mediocre, experience. Sad to say we won't be back.

Not what I was expecting... Came here for my birthday dinner, honestly this place is good if you're just coming to have a few glasses of wine and some appetizers (small plates) in between glasses. But if you're coming here wanting a nice entree then you're in the wrong place. There were maybe 3 or 4 "entree" type choices on the menu. And even those did not come with any sides. We ordered these sautéed mushrooms and flatbread for appetizer and that must have been the best part of dinner. For dessert we got the creme brûlée and fruit tart with gelato, nothing extraordinary. Like I said before, go here only if you are planning to have a few bites to eat with your wine. Also, the owner should really look into putting up some sound absorber panels on the walls or ceiling because this place gets REALLY loud! Otherwise the interior ambience is really nice and the outside seating area is great on a nice day (besides the passing Metra train every 10-15 minutes). I still have hope for this place since it is a fairly new business. A few changes and additions to the menu as well as doing something about the noise issue and this place can be a hit!

I really liked this place. Good food, drinks, atmosphere and location. A bit overpriced but absolutely worth checking out over again. Some unique and delicious choices. Pizza is very good. Lobster Mac an obvious hit from all the reviews.

Eh. Leaves much to be desired. 5 of us. 2 had lobster Mac and cheese. Eh. Not bad but nothing special either. Kind of flavorless. Asparagus was very good. Pizette was fine but overpriced. Filets were good at best but overpriced again. Nice atmosphere but for ok food that is overpriced, we won't be back. Also....Didn't a wine bar and an Italian joint that occupied the space preciously fail?? Hmmmm.... Wish them the best, but can't see throwing my money down the tubes for mediocrity to help support them.

Not only is this a great place to dine out with friends and family, it is a business that supports local community groups. We Love the food. Everything we've had here is amazing. The wait staff is attentive while the management tries to stop by everytable to get to know you and you can get to know them. Roselle is lucky to have this fine establishment as part of thier rennovated downtown area. Hope there is more to come and that 1913 is here to stay! Love the outdoor seating!

It was my first time visiting 1913, and I could not have been more impressed. From the local art on the walls, to the amazing (and affordable) wine list, this restaurant made many great first impressions. The service was fast, knowledgable, and super friendly. Our server had great recommendations for us regarding wine and food. The food was amazing, and the portions were perfect. We had several courses, and left feeling full but not over stuffed. The owners also made a point of checking in often, and we felt more than well taken care of all evening. If you are looking for fresh, authentic, local fair; this is the place to frequent.

My girlfriend's and I love this place. We have been here twice in two weeks and still look forward to coming back in the future and trying more items. This is a nice sized restaurant space with a more casual feel. Both times I came were on Wednesday evenings. About 75% of the tables were filled up during both visits. The first time our service was on the slow side, and the second time it was better because we came a little earlier in the evening and it didn't get crowded until we were almost done eating. I think it is possible that the restaurant is a little understaffed, which accounts for the slow service. Hopefully they are better staffed on the weekend. Their wine list was pretty big, and there is also a decent selection of cocktails and beers as well. I enjoyed both the whisky cocktail I had during my first visit and my glass of wine during my second. The food was excellent! The fried olives had a good flavor and were non greasy. The braised pork shoulder with polenta was savory, but the lobster mac n cheese is my favorite so far. They put large chunks of real lobster in this dish and the cheese sauce was delicious. You must try the lobster mac and cheese ! The creme brulee came with fresh berries and was big enough to share. This dessert was a nice way to end the meal

Was here for dinner and ordered the white bean dip to start. It's served cold and while it's okay, it needs more flavor, some garlic or anything-flavor please... Also ordered the duck confit pizza and have to say it was delicious. The prices are way too high. If they don't adjust the prices I don't see this place lasting in this location for very much longer. Service was just ok.

1913 has potential, but there is certainly lots of room for improvement. It needs both more and less: a little more flavor and food on the plate and a little less of those menu prices. We ordered the escargot to start followed by the shells on shells and the pan roasted scallops for our main course. The escargot was good though not great. The broth was well-balanced but the escargot was chewier than desired. The shells on shells pasta dish had clams, mussels, shrimp, artichokes, bacon, parsley, and a white wine butter sauce. I loved all of those things; I just wish I had a little more. It also just missed the mark on seasoning. The pan roasted scallops were paired nicely with the white bean ragout, though it was seasoned with more ground pepper than my girlfriend liked. All in all, the food is pricey for both the portion size and the quality of the meal. As for dessert, I've tried to get crème brûlée twice here, and each time, the restaurant did not have it. (Maybe the third time's a charm.) If you, like me, can't get your mitts on that crème brûlée, order the pistachio gelato - it's delicious! Aside from the food, the service was great - our server was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the restaurant is surprisingly noisy so it did make chatting a little difficult. I am glad we checked 1913 out, but it's not a place I'm itching to revisit any time soon.

My duty as a 5th year Yelp Elite member, is to help direct my "fans", family and friends to the best businesses and restaurants I can find. A few weeks ago, we had plans with friends for dinner and didn't know where we were headed. Being the Yelper, its usually up to me to find something but this time, my girlfriend TOLD ME about this new place in Roselle!! WTH? Where have I been? We have a new place in Roselle? Where is it? What is it? What is it called? 1913!! I immediately jumped on the closest technical device I could find and got on their website to make sure it was appropriate for children and found a kids menu right away, so I knew we were headed in the right direction. We got all done up for a night out and as we left the house, the 150th storm of this year's winter decided to hit the Chicagoland area. As we skid our way to Main Street Roselle, we decided that our hunger was more important than our safety so off we went for din-din! Thank you to my hubby for dropping me at the door whilst he hunted for a parking spot! The signage on the building is minimal. Almost a little difficult to find as it's unlit and quite small, but don't let that deter you! You will not be disappointed when you enter. The raw brick and original floors that make up this building give it such charm and elegance in a subtle but obvious way. I grew up riding my bike on the sidewalk in front of this restaurant with my friends after we shopped for candy and fun treats at the then pharmacy known as Howard's at the other end of this strip. Roselle is where I grew up and I love to support the local businesses that make up this town (check out how many times I have been to Lynfred winery)! We perused the menu, debated on cocktails, and landed on on ordering a pizzette with prosciutto and giardinara. When we told the server that we were thinking about this particular pizzette, she lit up and said oh yeah, that was one of her favorites, so we ordered that to share between 4 adults and I have to say, even with our large appetites, it was quite perfect for 4 of us to share. The bottled water on the table is a nice touch. It alleviates cheapening the establishment with those plastic water pitchers you see everywhere else on earth. The boys both ordered pasta dishes and ate them up!! I selected their half chicken served with stuffing and my girlfriend ordered the scallops. When everything arrived, I immediately noticed my chicken was quite overcooked (and my stuffing to be cooked on top/burnt on the bottom) but I really enjoyed the pizzette so much that I dug in to make sure it was not just the appearance to find that sadly, it was, in fact, incredibly dry. As I was cutting into my dry chicken, my girlfriend began to rave about her scallops!! She said they were awesome! Unfortunately, as she started to eat the risotto that accompanied the scallops, she found it to be incredibly undercooked and full of PEPPER. So much pepper it was unbearably for even me who blackens her eggs with pepper every morning. After tracking down our server, she offered to take the entire dish back but she wanted to keep and eat the scallops. I found this to be SO WEIRD! After requesting a different pasta, they took her whole plate back and received her original scallops back with unseasoned, unsalted, undressed, plain pasta in place of the risotto. It was weird and thoughtless. After witnessing the mess it was to get a replacement side, I chose not to say a word about my meal. I snagged a few bites of our friends' little girl's pasta and a few of my hubby's, I ate enough of the dry chicken to satisfy my hunger. I decided to mention the burnt stuffing and overcooked chicken to the server at the end of the meal to which she did take it to show the manager. They ended up comping our two meals but nonetheless, there are some major kinks to work out here at 1913. I would tell them to stick to pasta and flatbreads but I know they are trying to do more and I completely respect that. I didn't know about 1913 until a few hours before we came so I truly did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the facility, the pastas and the flatbreads and look forward to returning once they have worked out the kinks.

1913 Trying to bring downtown cafe feel to the burbs. So far I'm not impressed, On the pricey side too. Service was good. Crab cakes where just ok, tasted a little like tuna. Came with a side of fries. Which were the shoe string kind. The waitress up-selled the side of asparagus, because the meal had no vegetable that came with it. Came about 4 min after we got our food, they were which were just ok, kinda sad looking. not the big think ones, the really thin kind. Also they don't give you bread, most Italian places do offer you bread with oil . I may try this place again, but they will have to twist my arm to go.

1913 would have gotten more stars if it wasn't for an incident that occurred at the end of our meal. For Mother's Day, we ventured out to 1913 which is a new Italian restaurant in downtown Roselle. We were excited when we walked in to see the interior well decorated with exposed brick and dark wood accents. The menu was reasonably priced with a good variety of entrees, pizzas, and pastas. Our food was decent and everyone left satisfied. At the end of the meal, we noticed a tall gentleman with a goatee who I presume to be the manager greeting each table. Oddly enough, he went to each table but ours - he literally greeted the tables right next to us. For a restaurant that just opened recently, this is unacceptable. By being the only minorities at the restaurant and the first diners for the evening, you send a negative message with that kind of service. To the manager of 1913, you just sent Roselle back a hundred years.

This restaurant is just not my cup of tea. The prices are on the high side and, as has been mentioned before, portions small. (YES, I get the idea of small plates.) I started with the Escargot. The snails were prepared well and tasty. Unlike most escargot preparations I have had where the snails are nestled in delicate puff pastry, here you get four pieces of toasted French bread. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not great. As my main course, I ordered the Margherita pizza. It was not like any Margherita pizza I have had. No tomato based sauce, just a bit of EVO. The cheese was good and it was topped with orange and yellow plum tomatoes. It lacked any seasoning that I could taste and other than the sweetness of the fresh tomatoes I didn't find it particularly flavorful. I notice that they have thrown their neighbors, Lynfred Winery, a bone by including three Lynfred wines on their wine list. I just don't get their devotion to French and Italian wines.

I am in the Roselle Library Book Club and this is one of the restaurants we frequent. The first couple times we came here, I was in love with the Four Seasons Pizza. They have taken that off the menu and I have not been able to find a substitute that I love as much. Everything I have tried has been good, but nothing stands out to me as much as that one pizza did. I like the large selection of wine here, especially since I like sweeter white wines. The service here has always been great and they give us separate checks. I love the ambience and decor. I think the prices are a bit steep for the area and what you get though.

I wish there were more places like this in the burbs. The space has a nice vibe, I'd say it would make a nice first date place. Pretty decent beer selection as owner is a craft beer fan (found out after a question on Delerium on menu) food options nice and lots of small plates. Living in a near by suburb this is a close place to stop in for tapas and a drink while avoiding the chain restaurants. Support local business in Roselle; we have in twice over the last few months and very pleased. Stop in! You won't regret it!

Fantastic food and a cool atmosphere. Service is a little dodgy at times but not bad enough to prevent me from returning again and again. Definitely one of the nicest restaurants out here in the burbs.

Really good food! Four seasons pizza was phenom. Also the beer and wine is cheap and the decor is trendy. I was happy to find it!!

Came back for my birthday with my parents, husband, and 4 year old son. It was even better! We had better seating in the back, next to a wall so it wasn't as noisy. Also the food! The food was INCREDIBLE!!! Everything we had was amazing. Even my kid went to town on octopus salad! Best server! Great owner! Definitely we will be back.

I'm a restaurant owner and I must say I like this place. The atmosphere is great!! The menu is probably something not much appreciated in Roselle, however I'm glad I don't gave to go all the way to wicker park to get this menu. I really enjoyed sitting at the bar, having a few cocktails and meeting new people. I have a good feeling about this place. Will eat in restaurant tomorrow and update the food and service.

No food in the bar room?!?! No happy hour specials?!? Sometimes you just want to sit in the bar and watch the Blackhawks. And at 1913 you can do so, but just don't expect to have any food with that beer. I guess you can order food Monday through Thursday BUT not on Friday and Saturdays. SO if you are dining alone on a Friday or Saturday, you must sit alone in the dining portion of the restaurant INSTEAD of blending with the chaos of the bar nightlife. I enjoy the menu. The value of quantity to price though is something to be desired. The entrees overall are pricy, especially considering they are "tapas" and you are supposed to order several to fill a hungry tummy. Another annoyance it the wine menu. 1913 is trying to create an authentic Italian/French dining experience; therefore, those are the only types of wine listed on the menu. It's a neat concept EXCEPT I have no idea what all these wines are like. I am used to seeing familiar titles like "Cabernet" "Merlot" "Chardonnay"... do not expect to see these names in their wine menu. Every time we go here I have to just trust the waitress/waiter that the wine they are suggesting is similar to the Malbec I really want... We have been to 1913 several times. We have discussed these concerns to the staff. The bartenders are phenomenal and listened to our concerns but no change has occurred. There is a male bartender and a female one whom are by far the most friendly people in the entire establishment. Speaking of being friendly, we have never been greeted or welcomed by an owner since the opening week. (Every time we have gone here since, there is an owner present. We know so because they introduced themselves the opening week. I guess they are exhausted at being friendly.) Our last dining experience: My husband and I rolled into 1913 at 4:30pm on a Friday. We are 2 of 5 patrons in the bar, no one in the dining area. Sure they've only been open for 30 minutes.... but this is why you SHOULD HAVE A HAPPY HOUR. I was assisted in finding a glass of wine. My husband ordered a beer. What would go well with this? A flat-bread pizza! "Sorry ma'am you can't order this on the bar side, the kitchen may become overwhelmed." HOLY COW. We are the only people here?!?! "We are kind of hungry and really want to sit the bar area, if you're being serious, we will probably leave." The bartender was professional and apologetic but was unable to allow us to spend more money. SO we paid our check and headed to another restaurant in downtown Roselle where we can drink and eat in the same room. Did I mention there must have been 6 waiters and waitresses just hanging around the bar waiting for business to come in? Overall, I want this restaurant to thrive. I was very excited when it opened. I hope they begin to listen to patron requests and offer what customers want.

Another restaurant addition to downtown Roselle?? Woo-hoo! It's about time. I waited months for this place to open. Once it did, it was a few weeks before I finally had a chance to try it during a book club meeting. We were tucked away at a table in the back of the restaurant. It was very dim, crowded, and loud. I was a little bit miserable. I don't handle dark and loud places very well. Right away, I knew this was not my kind of place. On the plus side, our waiter was good, the owner came over to say hello, the wait for the food wasn't long, and the food was absolutely marvelous! The menu is filled with various small plates, so I wasn't sure how filling my dishes would be -- but they were perfect. I ordered the brussels sprouts and mac & cheese dishes. Both were absolutely divine. My taste buds were dancing. The dishes were large enough for leftovers, which I was excited to finish the next day. Oh, and the silverware? Freakishly huge! I don't nornally notice the size of the silverware, but they could barely fit in my mouth. It was so weird. My main complaint is how pricey everything was. I realize that the dishes are meant to be shared, but if you order three or four dishes for two people, it adds up quick. Meh, like I said, not really my style. Overall, not a bad experience, but nothing amazing. I wouldn't mind coming back with my husband to get a better sense of what it feels like to have a meal here and try some wine, but we're three weeks away from moving out of state and I won't be around. Hopefully, the rest of the Roselle is able to enjoy 1913 without emptying their wallets.

Ambiance is nice. I've read complaints about noise level but the volume wasn't a problem, although we were there at an off time. The water bottles on the table are somehow a wonderful distinct touch. Something I would like on the table that wasn't there was bread. They have this wonderful garlic toast. I'd love to have a plate or basket while waiting, because yes the service is just a bit slow, just a bit, and not to the point I was annoyed. Best filet I've had in a long while. Pot roast my wife reported as ok. Kids menu is nice and makes it family friendly. Price is on the high side, but so far not obnoxiously so. I do agree with another yelper that the shrimp, although delicious, is a little light for the price. Pizza concoctions are not bad and reasonable. Not a wine person so I cannot comment properly. I want to go back and try something else.

Excellent Food, I enjoyed a couple of small plates before an entree. The roasted wild mushroom with polenta was amazing, earthy and balanced. The Crab Cakes with the red wine butter which was amazing. Also ordered the Arugula Salad with fresh mozzarella, awesome. Finally got the quattro formaggi (Four Cheese pizza) Stole the show. Wine list was huge, and I did not feel intimidated with the help the staff for recommendations and dinner pairing. Craft beer list was awesome, this is the only place in the suburbs you can walk in and get La Trappe Quadrupel on tap! Will be back. Cheers.

I've been here twice, once with a group and once as a party of two. My first trip there, with the group, I had a glass of teraldego that I wasn't too impressed with. The food, however, was pretty good. I got the lobster mac-n-cheese, and it was good and satisfying, but not very flavorful. My husband had the carne pizza and he loved it. The rest of the group liked their food quite a bit as well. For dessert, we all had different dishes and shared them amongst our group. One friend had the gelato and didn't particularly care for it, but everyone else loved their desserts. I had the creme brulee and it was so good that I ordered a second one to split with the group. The second time I came here, I had the roasted mushroom small plate and a glass, per the waiter's recommendation, of the Barbera d'Asti. The wine was FANTASTIC, especially for the price. The roasted mushroom dish was good, but spiced a bit too much. The service was very prompt and, of course, the waiter really knocked it out of the park on the wine recommendation. I will agree that the place is in desperate need of some acoustical paneling or batting, as it does get too loud when there's an appreciable number of people in it. But all in all, the food is good (some minor tweaks to the recipes would make it great), the desserts are for the most part really delicious, and the wine selection is generous. Also, there are some really good wines on the list, and the prices aren't horrible.

1913 had only been open merely a week before I ventured in, excited to have a new, restaurant open in downtown Roselle. Those of us who live in the area are well aware of the "good restaurant" drought we've had. So let's get to the good stuff... + Gorgeous redesign. The space is used far more effectively and decorated in a modern, yet rustic way. Props for the art on the wall being designed by a local high school artist. + The owners care. Like, truly, deeply care. They themselves are from Roselle and passionate about their restaurant having great food and a lively atmosphere. + The menu has a variety of items - pizzettes, small plates, pastas, flatbreads. You name it, they've got it. + Pasta. Pasta. Pasta. I love a light pasta dish that packs bold flavors. + Roasted mushrooms were a total plus. + Meatball sliders + Great service. Mehs: - Prices on most dishes were kind of high. Especially on the pasta dishes. For $15+ I expect more than a cup's worth of pasta. - The French Onion Soup. If you like good ol' fashioned French Onion, this isn't the soup for you. It definitely wasn't bad, there were just nontraditional flavors. - Mortadella and toasted pistachio pizzette. Just meh. I felt like it was a piece of crusted with a lot of cheese and a sprinkle of fried mortadella and crushed pistachios. 1913 is off to a great start, and I definitely see a promising future for them in downtown Roselle. I'm looking forward to seeing the restaurant grow, trying more food, and finally having a cute, delicious, customer focused hot spot to hit up that's only a few minutes from home.

I recently relocated to Roselle from the city and 1913 was such a great find for a foodie stuck in the land of corporate restaurant chains. It's Chicago-level cuisine without all the stuffiness. Great atmosphere, thoughtful wine and beer selection, and wonderful food! The space has been beautifully restored and has a nice cozy ambiance. To start off, the wine and beer list are well curated and go well with the menu selections. I had the pinot noir, and my boyfriend was pleased to find a stout from New Holland Brewing (Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel Stout if you're curious). We started off with the mussels which were cooked perfectly and accompanied by the most delicious broth. Only complaint here is that I wish there had been more bread served with the dish to soak up all that goodness! On to the entrees. We both chose the pork shoulder which is served over polenta. The pork shoulder was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The polenta was a great compliment in both taste and texture. I wanted to lick the plate! My boyfriend also got the trout which he was pleased with. For dessert we split the banana espresso bread pudding. Perfect ending to a great meal! Not to sweet, and served with your choice of vanilla or chocolate gelato. Service was fine. Nothing outstanding, but I suspect the place is still trying to fall into a groove between the kitchen, waitstaff etc. Overall, our server was friendly, attentive, and any minor details (people have mentioned their water wasn't poured...really?) were overlooked by the overall great experience of our meal. Looking forward to coming back often and taking advantage of this gem that's so close to home!

LOVED it. And it's about time, too, that we get a decent restaurant in Roselle. My husband and I shared small plates: Mussels, which were truly outstanding, grilled shrimp, cooked perfectly, and filet medallions... delish! That was MORE than enough food, but after sitting and chatting we decided to share a dessert... but then ended up ordering two bc we couldn't decide. He got the donuts with custard and chocolate sauces which he really enjoyed and I had the gelato (salted caramel) and really, what's NOT to like about that? I highly recommend! We will definitely be back. Soon.

This place is a nice addition to downtown Roselle. It's very loud, but it has a great ambiance. The menu has a nice variety of items, including Small Plates which are great for sharing. I particularly love the Charcuterie Board, which is different each time I've been there. The carpaccio, mussels, and Pizzettes are also very good. I wasn't impressed with the escargot or lobster Mac-n-cheese, both of which were practically tasteless. Overall, I enjoy have a couple glasses of wine and some good bites each time I've dined here.

Almost all of the food we had was excellent. With that said, I only gave them 3 stars because we had a lot of service issues. However, they have only been open for about 5 weeks. When we go again I will definitely update if our service experience is better. We had a large party (was supposed to be 12 but dwindled to 8 before our night out). We called 3 weeks in advance to make reservations and they do not take them. This was very disappointing since we had such a large group. When we arrived the bar seating was mostly empty and they told us the wait would be 1 hour and 15 minutes. The gentleman who seemed to be the owner or manager said they would try to get us in quicker. We also thought he said we could eat in the bar if we decided to but when we asked our waitress she said no. We wanted to experience the dining room since it was our first time there but it would have been nice if we could have at least ordered an appetizer while drinking in the bar. Especially because it ended up being ONE HOUR AND 40 MINUTES for a table!!!!!! So much for the "but we'll try to get you in quicker". It would have been good to have had the opportunity to order a little something while we were drinking for almost two hours in the bar! In all that time we sat at the bar people were streaming in the whole time and at one point the bar was completely full. By the time they called us for our table the bar was almost completely empty. It seemed as though they were taking all of the smaller parties that came in after us and it made our wait longer to get a larger table for 8. They definitely need to work out these seating kinks. Also, I would HIGHLY recommend they take reservations for parties of 6 or more. We won't come with a large group again due to this - the wait was just too long. The bar waitress was very sweet and friendly, but she knew nothing about the wine list at all. My friend wanted a glass of wine that was on the "bottle" list and we asked if she could get it by the glass. The waitress said "yes" but then proceeded to bring the bottle to our table. She also brought a glass of wine that no one ordered. When we got our bill she had charged us for the bottle of wine that we returned and several of the other drink orders were wrong on our bill. By then they had called us to our table (finally!) and they told us they would bring the bar bill to our table. They brought it with our dinner check and it was still wrong, but it was actually less than what we ordered so we just let it be. The menu was a little confusing because several of the "small plates" looked like they were enough to be actual entrees. The waitress assured us that they weren't. Had we been eating with a smaller group they probably could have been entrees but since we had such a large group it worked out well. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The lobster mac and cheese was phenomenal. The Bolognese pasta was delicious as well as the pasta with mushrooms and pancetta. Unfortunately, we didn't try any desserts but will be sure to next time. The wine list was extensive and we really enjoyed what we had. But it would be great if there were descriptions. They were almost entirely Italian and French wines and most were names we were unfamiliar with so it was difficult to chose because we really didn't know what we were ordering. The waitress in the bar was not knowledgeable so this made it difficult to chose what to order. The ambiance is great - they did a beautiful job with the build-out. The food is very good and the wait staff in the dining room was good. They need to work on their seating system when it's busy and people are waiting and the bar staff needs more training. Lastly, I highly recommend they accept reservations for parties of 6 or more - this was a huge disappointment and until they accept reservations we will never come back with more than 4 people. But we will definitely visit again.

A great addition to that otherwise desolate stretch of downtown Roselle called Main Street. They did wonders with the building after the previous restaurant in this spot closed. The whole building has opened up space wise and it has just a better overall vibe to it. I like the fact that they preserved the original walls and floors and such..thus the name 1913 ...they year the building was built. Food was stellar on our visit. Its similar to tapas in that you order a lot of small plates to share. They also have larger size entrees as well. The variety is great too. we started with a charcuterie board , and ended up with a small duck confit pizza. We finished with some zepelles with two dipping sauces and some of their custom ground coffee. They also had a very extensive wine and beer list but be warned.. the wines are limited to Italian and French only . They have only been open a couple weeks but seem to be packing them in already. Service was outstanding . Our server was happy to leave the menu with us so we could order the small plates as we ate Only negative I could see is it can be a pricey meal for two. Those small plates and bottle of wine add up.. I would not let that stop me from going back back but I hope its not too expensive for Roselle. 2/21/14 Went back for a third visit and not quite the same experience as the first two. Even though the place was wide open we were seated for a table for 4 in the back with constant traffic from the bar, bathroom, and kitchen right behind me. We asked if we could move to smaller table further away which we were told was fine until our server came back and asked why we moved. When I told her why she seemed put out and said foot traffic would be just as bad at the table i moved to. It wasnt. Since we ordered a few small plates we hoped it would be timed appropriately like it was the first couple times we came here. Well we ended up with several plates arriving with a large charcuterie board all at the same time with no room to put them. they offered to hold them but I didnt savor all our food sitting getting cold while we worked our way through the initial small plates. The whole dinner was rushed and timing was terrible. Also funny how someone with little wine experience is always ready to recommend the the wine with the highest price point :) also stay away from the meatball sliders. they tasted no better than what you would get from a local fast food sandwich place .It was served on an oversize soggy bun that was way to large for the amount of meat. All in all i felt the place was really off this night but will come back since the first two visits were good. Personally they I think they need to drop the prices a bit as 100 bucks for two people to eat basically what amounts to appetizers seems a bit high to me. I would also like to see some different wine besides Italian or French .

My wife and I went for dinner on a Friday night and the place was packed, so there was about a 15 minute wait. Parking was also really bad because of the large crowd. We had a drink at the bar and it was a very pleasant wait. Nice décor and very comfortable. The bartender was very knowledgeable and suggested a wine that my wife really enjoyed. When we were seated at our table, we noticed how loud the place was ... I mean really loud! I would suggest they hire an acoustic solutions company to work in a means of keeping the place a little more quiet. It was hard for us to even hear each other without speaking a bit louder than in most restaurants. It's one of those rooms that all of the sound just travels everywhere. I don't think I'd enjoy going with a large group because half the enjoyment of going with a group is good conversation. Plus, they had background music going which added to the noise level. As for the server, Tyler was really good ... a perfect server throughout the entire meal. He had all of the answers to all of our questions. We started with a Spinach and Artichoke Pizzette appetizer which is actually flatbread. It was quite good, but the edges of the bread were slightly overcooked to the point of being a little burnt. So, we ate around the edges and the rest was quite good. We both had a pasta dish (Angel Hair for my wife and Rigatoni for me) and I would say they were OK. There were several spice combinations that caused it to taste a little different. I'm not sure if I liked the combination of flavors, but as I said it was OK. We are Italian, so we do know good Italian cooking. The portions were smaller but quite sufficient. As for the pricing, we spent only $40.00 plus the tip, so the pricing was quite good. Would we go back? Probably. If there was a 3.5 star option, I'd select that.

Came on my own Jan. 12. Warmly welcomed at the front door by the hostess, again by my server, and the owner stopped by my table as well. Have not had this sort of service in quite a while! The bean dip is outstanding, as was the grilled shrimp. Next time I come in it will be for dessert because I hear these stand on their own. Wonderful place!

Food is delicious. Ambiance is very nice. The restaurant is beautiful except for the art in the dining room..it looks like someone's wife or kid painted it and really takes away from the esthetic of the restaurant . It's a new restaurant and definitely has some bugs to work out. The wait staff is excellent. My gripes are that when you order small plates they should come out separately and not in one giant cluster. We had to send back the first round of food because it came out cold, but I have to mention that our waitress handled it very well and brought us all new dishes piping hot. The manager seemed to hover at tables with people that he knew and the never came to our table regardless of the fact that we sent back all if our food because it was cold. Everything was delicious when served hot and not undercooked. The prices were not unreasonable and the dishes were flavorful and filling. The wine and beer selection was outstanding and the bartender was informative and knowledgable . I really want to love this place and I hope that in the next few months they work out the kinks, because I could see myself as a regular if they can work thru the imperfections. Bread on the tables would really help as well as a few cold appetizers that can be served quickly.

This place has potential. It was packed on Friday night with people giving it a first try. Very nice indoor space, warm and welcoming. Staff seems well trained which is a big plus. It's only open for dinner which is a smart move in this location. The wine list features some nice selections from Italy and France, and the pours are generous. Service was very good and food came out in a timely fashion. The menu is a little hard to figure out. It seems to feature a lot of "small plates". However anything with protein is priced in the $12-16 range which seems high if you are going to order several different items. There are also pizzas and "pizzettes" ( our server said they were flatbreads), and some pasta dishes. We had difficulty figuring out how much to order--how small are the small plates? How filling are the pizzas/pizzettes? It was tricky trying to figure out if we were going to order too little or too much. There were no actual main dish entrees featuring meat or fish; you must order a "small plate" and a separate side dish of vegetables if you want something resembling a full meal. Salads are also ala carte. I would encourage the owners to add full entrees to the menu. As for the food itself, our reactions were mixed: We had a panzanella salad which was mostly bread but enough for two to share. For our main course, the two of us decided to share a veal scalloppine "small plate" and a potato pizza. The veal was excellent but could have been sliced more thinly. The pizza was nondescript; the potato was sliced so thinly that you could not discern it on the palate. There was nothing at all notable about it which made me reach for the table seasoning....which is when I realized that there are none out on the tables. Anywhere. For dessert we decided to try the banana bread pudding with vanilla gelato. It was hot (good) and plenty for two to share, but the top was charred black ( maybe from a broiler?) The pudding itself was extremely dry, 98% flavorless bread and very little banana, and there is no sauce to add moisture or flavor. The added scoop of gelato did not compensate for this. It was a disppointment. The reviewer who said this place is crawling with young and hip patrons must have been there later in the evening than we were, as prior to 8 pm we observed a nice mix of all ages. Having a table by the window, we observed many people having great difficulty navigating the snowpiles at the curb, as well as sliding on the icy sidewalk. While a staff member did go out to spread some salt at one point, it made us wonder why this place doesnt seem to have a snow shovel and ice scraper handy? It was 40* and raining outside and the layer of slushy sidewalk ice could have easily been scraped away before the salt was applied, and there is a walkway area next to a handicap parking spot in front which at the very least could have had the curb area cleared in about 15 seconds for patron access without fear of falling. Let's consider those patrons who are not under 30, owners! Snow is on the ground in Roselle a third of the year so this needs attention. We will give it another try. It's only been open a week and there are always kinks to be worked out.

My boyfriend and I dined on a Tuesday night. I was happy to see that they were doing a good business, although the restaurant was not full. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, with a lot of ambience in keeping with the age of the building. Roselle desperately needs quality dining choices and this place has great potential. The staff was friendly and attentive and the menu intriguing. We first noticed there was no bread on the table and definitely missed this, especially for a country European restaurant. We were uncertain what to order not knowing anything about the portion sizes, so we skipped the small plates and decided to just go with a pasta entree each. Big mistake as we both left hungry. I had the campanelle with chicken in vodka sauce. The pasta has a good flavor, but the chicken was dry and tough. The other pasta, strozapolli??? Had a good flavor, but we each ate every bite. Next time I go back I will know to order more food. I personally am not keen on restaurants where everything is ala carte, because a meal tends to be rather pricey and this is no exception. Add some bread and a few meat dishes. Include a soup or salad with an entree. This place could be very successful with a few minor tweaks. The small plates are a nice touch, but you have to order lot of them to make a full meal. I will go back as I'm thrilled to have another choice downtown.

Just came in there to grab a couple drinks since they stopped serving food. Cute place need to come back to try some of the food!

Had a great meal this evening. Since there were 8 of us, we got a great sampling of the menu. Everything, including desert, was fantastic. We shared it all. A great wine and beer list and awesome menu with small plates and entrees. I highly recommend and will return many times!

Lovely atmosphere, good service, nice variety on menu. Been here 4 times and it's a great place for a date or to meet some friends and have a relaxing evening. Really happy to have good food in an enjoyable space nearby :)

This is the second time that we have been here. We really want to like this place. There are so few good restaurants in the area. This is not one of them. The people are so nice and the ambiance is great. The food - not so much. My wife ordered the pasta with shrimp ($17) and it was a small plate of pasta with ~6 shrimp. Really? My daughter had the angel hair with radicchio. It was virtually flavorless. I had the 4-cheese pizza. It was alright; nothing special. We compare suburban dining to the city. (You must). For our $70+ tab, we would have larger portions and better flavor at Filippo's on Clybourn. That's where we will go next time.

Cheers.

I had a very disappointing experience. The food was alright. But I received terrible service. We were met with attitude the very second we asked to split our bill. Because of this waiter I will not be going back.

Lovely atmosphere, good service, nice variety on menu. Been here 4 times and it's a great place for a date or to meet some friends and have a relaxing evening. Really happy to have good food in an enjoyable space nearby :)

Cheers.

I had a very disappointing experience. The food was alright. But I received terrible service. We were met with attitude the very second we asked to split our bill. Because of this waiter I will not be going back.

Enjoy.

Great food, great service, very friendly staff, reasonable prices. Had Fried olives stuffed with Gorgonzola , charcuterie platter, mussels ( fantastic !) and a pizzette . They were "small plates" but there was plenty to share. Can't wait to go back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
