Healthy Meal suggestions for Ruby Tuesday

It's a chain - so you're getting standard American chain restaurant food - but it's a solid option for good food and good service. Have been here twice and love the option of the salad bar with your meal. We've tried the steaks and been pleased at how they were cooked, I enjoyed the fish tacos and my mother had the salmon and also enjoyed it. My husband enjoyed a burger. The service on both visits was very good. All in all, a good choice if you're in the area.

Let me start by saying I am a big fan of Ruby Tuesday & have been to this store 4 times in the last 2 years. I always eat at the bar & the service has always been great. Eric did a tremendous job serving me this evening. Salad bar was as good as ever & made for a great start to a disappointing meal. I ordered the rib eye steak, it was to be cooked to a med. rare. It came out with not much sear on the outside, lacked flavor, & was tough (very tough). I kept digging through the steak looking for that great flavor and tender meat (after all it is cut from prime rib of the cow). Couldn't finish it or the red wine (Apothic Red). Had the baked potato, it was OK also, but I didn't care about this. Also no bread/biscuits with my salad. I guess I learned my lesson to not look for a steak at a burger joint. I 'll be back, but not for a ribeye steak. $20.00 dollars for a steak that was flavorless and tough. $10.00 for a glass of pretty disappointing glass of wine. Should of spoken to the manager, but didn't - my bad. Eric, sorry for the 15% tip, but it was the food & drink that just didn't measure up. And you didn't asked for my feedback, when you took the plate away with a steak half eaten & a 1/2 glass of wine. Will be back to a Ruby Tuesday, somewhere in my travels, but hopefully my dining experience will be better than this meal.

@@Update - Contacted Guest services, as requested, on 9/8/15 and never received a response. I'm not sure if the below response to my original review is an attempted PR move bluff or a mistake but I'm definitely not pleased about being requested to waste m

Meets expectations for a chain restaurant from a menu perspective. Lack of vegetarian options but they are flexible and accommodating for modifications. Late lunch with minimal staff. Once the food was on the table they didn't go back to ensure everything was alright or if you needed anything. Staff was friendly and brought the food out quickly and hot. I would come back again.

Had a great sirloin and baked potato. Really good brocolli. Great salad bar. Clean and friendly with modest prices. Go there.

First, let me warn any of you Yelpers that try to find this place using the App on your phones, it maps it in the middle of a residential neighborhood. While sitting in the restaurant, I couldn't check in because I was too far away. After our meal I had some free time and for fun I drove to where Yelp maps it.... Way off! By about 3 miles. My wife wanted to go here for lunch on Saturday, and I was more than happy to oblige her. We were seated right away, and our waitress was fantastic and patient. We had our 8 year old with us and you know how they can be. The atmosphere was what you would expect from a chain restaurant. You have movie posters and trinkets hanging on the wall. It's the same style decor you find in any of these style of restaurants. It was very clean, the bathrooms where nice and maintained, floors where swept and the tables and chairs were wiped down. Their menu was wide and what was really nice is that for those that are watching your calories. they have a items that are under 700 calories marked and give their calorie count. It makes for eating out and making a reasonably healthier decision. My wife had the herb-crusted Tilapia and I had the Sirloin. My wife raved about how good her Tilapia was. Her sides were the white cheddar mashed potatoes and the steamed broccoli. Which she that was okay. Hard to mess up steamed broccoli. I liked my steak, it had a good flavor. I did order it Medium and confirmed with a warm pink center. When it arrived it was more like medium well. to well done. There was no pink in the middle at all. Now, I don't complain about stuff like that because it really doesn't do any good and I'm always afraid that the replacement steak will come out with an extra helping of floor seasoning. That's why I always order my Steak Medium, because I know it can get it just about any way that I'd eat it that isn't raw. Even though it was cooked a lil more thorough than I wanted it still had a good flavor. My sides where the white cheddar mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini. The potatoes where okay, it was a mildly cheesy potato nothing all that impressive. The Grilled Zucchini on the other hand was very delicious. Even my 8 year old loved it. He could get some as a side to his meal and he did. His main course was two small cheese burgers that he seemed to enjoy, but trying to get a kid to describe the complexity of the flavors of a meal is like trying to communicate with a cat. This is what he had to say about them, "They are delicious.... but they need salt!" Over all it was a good meal.

Worst food ever. My wife and I ate there about 8-10 years ago, ordered a burger and sandwich for lunch. both of us were sick for 2-3 days after that from what I believe food poisoning. Will never go back.

Had soup and salad bar. Soup was chicken tortilla which essentially was microwaved grocery store salsa. The salad bar is good but over priced, only complaint there which pretty much happens at every location is that the croutons are stale. Waitress was nice.

Food was good but the pricing and portions were terrible. Everything on their menu is over priced. I got a bowl of chili that arrived in something similar to a cat dish, tiny portion for a $6 bowl of soup. A burger is prices at about $12 and everything is on up from there. I will pay for food and service when it's worth it but this place isn't worth the prices being charged. They changed their menu so there are a lot more premium choices, more fish and other high end items, but its still just a crowded, packed in feel to the restaurant. I practically had people tripping over our chairs trying to get past us because the tables in the middle of the isle dont have as much room as they really should have. The restaurant is trying to be high end by changing their menu items and uping the prices. Like I said, food was good but if I want this kind of food I can go else where for lower prices and a less crowded feel.

I have dined here on and off for over 15 years. Initially I loved it. The food was good and the salad bar was exceptional. That was 1998. 2013..... Ruby Tuesday's needs to find a menu concept and stick with it. It seems every time I go the menu has changed. .Often to the negative. They just always seem to be trying to reinvent themselves, when all along they were pretty decent. Fish tacos come and go (a fave), hamburger buns vary on a whim. What can I say. Seems they have a inferiority complex with the constant changes......I still appreciate the salad bar and "ok" dinner selections, but this restaurant clearly needs to figure out what it is......
