I was really hoping for something different than every other standard Mexican joint in Peoria but no such luck. The food was standard, and my margarita was BAD. I kept adding water to it to try and make it less sweet. It pretty much tasted like strait sugary margarita flavored syrup. Probably one of the only times I've not finished a drink.

Excellent Mexican restaurant in north Peoria. Authentic menu and highly recommend the Molcajete specialities. The Parillada was incredible. As well as the chorizo, queso, and salsa. Great work on the ambience and location. There are 2 rooms and a bar with specialty cocktails.

We drove out of our way to try this place after reading it had 4 out of 5 stars... We were very disappointed. Our food had no flavor. The meat was dry and chewy. Our food turned cold after two minutes. While paying for our ticket the person behind the register asked how our meal was, we gave our thoughts. His reply was "maybe you weren't in the mood for Mexican food...well what you ordered wasn't really a Mexican dish..." I ordered tacos and my boyfriend ordered a burrito. (Tell me that isn't Mexican food) my parents were also born and raised in Mexico and I grew up eating Mexican food my whole life. (I think I have an idea of what Mexican food is and know that it should have more flavor. We will not be going back to this place

My husband and I moved here a year ago from Southern California and have been searching for a comparable, authentic mexican food place here in Peoria. I was just about to give up when we tried Los Cabos. I felt as though I had been transported to the delicious restaurants lining the border. Oh my goodness, the white cheese.. I have gone back several times, trying a few different burritos, and on my last trip, the tilapia fajitas. The tilapia fell apart easily under my fork and was seasoned so perfectly. I am a pescatarian and am usually underwhelmed by options available to me, but Los Cabos caters to every eating habit, and if I've wanted something tweaked from the menu, they have always been happy and quick to make it to order. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely seems happy to be there. Also, their midweek drink specials help too :) I would definitely recommend trying Los Cabos!!

We went to Los Cabos with a party of ten, one hour after they officially opened and the experience was flawless! The lunch menu offers so much more than the typical combinations, the service was quick and friendly, and you can't beat the prices! I've been three times now, the Arroz con Mariscos is out of this world, they make their own rumchata, and the queso and guacamole are the best in town! Also, my dining companion declared her seafood the burrito the best she's ever had, and she considers herself a connoisseur of seafood burritos. This is my new go-to for great Mexican food!

Horrible food. Meat had no taste. It felt like they just put boiled meat in the food. The portions were also too small for dinner. Complained to manager and he said you're the first person to complain about the taste of food. Only tasty thing was the salsa

I had a taco and 2 enchiladas. The beef was very well seasoned and very lean! Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! Loved it and will be back soon!

I didn't realize this was in the old Jalapenos location, which explains a lot. Decor is generic and a little cheesy. Many menu options, but overall heavy on sauces and cheeses, which is typically used to cover lack of culinary talent. The food was overwhelmingly salty and lacked authenticity - definitely another "Americanized" Mexican restaurant and completely interchangeable with several other restaurants in Peoria. Service was very attentive though.

I received a coupon offer through Peoria Journal Star and there is no mention of an address or phone number for the restaurant. I googled them and visited their facebook page and from what I see there, it appears they are closed. This is all very confusing.

Holy seasoned steak!! Great flavor of the steak bursting your mouth however you have it. I am big in the steak and cheese nachos that are so flavorful it'll make your tongue dance. The servers speak very good English and will even remember you name and drink/food order if you go in enough. The flaming queso is so cool and tasty I have also tried the chicken tacos which were very tender. The fajitas are very good as well. I always order the steak fajita it's without the peppers and I still get all the flavor.

Stopped in here on a whim after seeing it next to Fox Pub, glad we did! They were having a special of the mixed grill fajitas for two for $16 which is $4 off the usual price. It was sooooo much food! Heaping sizzling platter of shrimp, chicken, steak and pulled pork which was unusual but outstanding in flavor and tenderness. The complimentary chips and salsa were tasty, the chips seemed fresh (i.e. greasy ;) and crisp although the salsa was a little too pureed for my taste. The food came out super fast, par for Mexican restaurants everywhere and we had a couple of servers that came by with extras/refills. We had quite a bit of leftovers and were also given a $5 off the next visit coupon. This is a really great little Mexican joint up north and we will definitely be back again soon!

Excellent food! I've had the parrillada, the pollo vallarta and many more dishes here and they all are simply off the hook! I've not had such tasty Mexican food in a while.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
