i agree, portions are not very big, and i have been to at least five or six other chipotles. this one doesn't taste very good. theres just like no flavor, i dont care if they brag about their local food fresh blah blah blah, i pay for my food to not be tasteless. some of the workers are rude and arrogant, but i suppose thats what young people are like, I'd rather go to taco bell or the other local mexican places like good tequilas. that place is deeelish~

My family just relocated here to Peoria and I was thrilled to see a Chipotle. I have never been to a location that didn't have great service and food. This location, however, is just about the worst. The food was poorly prepared and the staff members were extremely rude. I understand it's hipster chic to treat people like you're better than them, but when you're in the service industry you're supposed to uphold a standard. To the girl who waited on me today, I hope someday you realize YOU have the ability to make or ruin someone's day. You treated me like garbage and I left feeling awful. I will never return and wouldn't recommend.

The only reason they're getting one star is because I can't give them none. This was my first experience eating at Chipotle. I heard great things about it, so I decided to give it a shot. My husband I went to this location around 2pm. It wasn't very busy, so the service was fast. The restaurant was pretty clean as well. I got a chicken burrito with black beans, rice (cilantro-lime is the only choice they had apparently - bummer for those of us who aren't keen on cilantro but want rice), salsa, cheese and sour cream. Bland, bland BLAND. I even added some of the green Tabasco to it and it was STILL bland. The amount of meat that they put on the burrito is less than half as much of the beans/rice, so you can't even really taste the meat. I managed to pick a couple of pieces out. No real flavor except a bit of char from the grill. The price is ridiculous. Two burritos (no extra meat) and two sodas was $19. Even if the food was good, I probably wouldn't go back because of the cost. Not worth it to me. However, the blandness and cost were only part of the issue. I was eating the leftovers at home (I'm not wasting a burrito that expensive) and I chomped down on a BONE. Thankfully it didn't break my tooth, but it was highly unpleasant. I certainly won't be going back to that location and probably won't go to ANY Chipotle again.

I love Chipotle but this location's customer service is TERRIBLE! I was actually stunned at the register with how rude the manager spoke to me when I mistook barbacoa for steak and did not give my money to her quick enough. When I asked for her name to write the company a comment she declined to tell me... I wonder why.

Ok, I lived in California for 3 years where Chipotle is available on nearly every corner, which I def took advantage of on close to a weekly basis. When my mom told me we were finally getting one in Peoria I was elated!! Chipotle, as a whole, is doing great things for the fast food industry. I actually love their "food with integrity" and am fully willing to pay a bit more for better quality, really food. Their food has never made me feel all gross and heavy like after thoe greasy hamburgers and fries. I appreciate when they let their customers know where there food is coming from. I think Chipotle is taking a big step forward, and other fast food chains should follow suit. As for this location, well it is obviously brand new and looked pretty clean and organized on my visit. Employees were nice, everything was working, and items were stocked. I actually thought the quality of their ingredients was even better than what CA locations had to offer. The portions were consistent, if not more than what I am used to. There is also an outdoor dining area. I fully supporting downing a massive burrito while soaking up some sun. Chipotle, don't ever leave Central Illinois!

We are normally big fans of Chipotle but tonight was different. The food tasted great like normal but the employees were rude and short with us. They gave us small portions and rushed us along even though there were few people in the store. The employees need to get it together and grow up.

Worst seating ever.. Can't take kids there for a dine in because the seating is poor

I worked at Chipotle for a year so I understand when it's busy it's easy to overlook the small things. My seat was full of chips and food. The floor very dirty and wet. Soda station is a mess. No one wants to eat where it's so messy and dirty. Get a broom and a towel also a wet floor sign would help too. Food is good but portions are smaller than any other Chipotle I've been to. Also standards yo. Chipotle always had high standards for food. But they seem to have forgotten that here. You can do better, Chipotle.

First time eater. Good food. Terrible service and stingy portions. Employees rushed us and we're very rude. I do not recommend this location to anyone. Will not return.

For fast food this is a good place! It's a little sensory overload for me because it's so fast-paced, but when I make it clear I need more time, the employees have always been patient. As for the portion sizes, they are huge. The people who say they aren't big enough-my God! I would feel so bad about myself if I was complaining that a ridiculously huge burrito wasn't huge enough. You people need to look into a thing called moderation. In any case, it's a decent place.

30 minute wait? On a Tuesday? Here? Seriously? ! I guess I should have read the reviews first before even coming! Have never been to Chipotle in Peoria but love the chain...I will never be back

This one is the worst Chipotle I've visited. The burrito is only 1/2 or 2/3 of normal size. Service is bad. Chipotle in Bloomington-Normal is much better than Peoria's.

I was sent a coupon and this time was better! Service can be quite a bit better but the food was a HUGE improvement! I had the Chicken bowl! I love, love, love the bowls! I am so glad I gave them another chance!

I got the salad bowl with chicken and it was ready before I was. Leave off the dressing and you save 300 calories.Food was great.

Comparably smaller portions to other Chipotle establishments. Been here quite a few times and each time their Pico De Gallo lacks vigor, the tomatoes are flaccid and appear spoiled to the eye. This certainly does not pay homage to their mission statement of freshness. Disappointing to say the least.

The Employees are Rude and Lazy. It shows also in the quality of the food. Chipotle in other cities are great. This one falls way short.

I eat at chipotle at least once a week in Ohio, and I've probably been to at least 30 locations total because its my favorite place to eat. This location is the ABSOLUTE WORST I'VE EVER BEEN TO. The service is awful but the worst part is they only give you 1/2 the food, maybe even 1/3 that standard chipotles give you and when you kindly ask about why your bowl is 1/2 empty, you're sternly told that this is the procedure they must follow. Management has a lot of work to do, until then, I will not be bringing my family back. Its a shame that one location can have such a detrimental effect on the chain's reputation - I've never had anything but positive things to say about this place since my daughter first got me hooked 5 years ago. Please take note because this single location is adulterating the reputation of a company I love whole-heartedly.

Bummer! I used to eat at Chipotle all the time when I lived in Chicago, and I was so excited when Peoria got one. Unfortunately, the burritos are about HALF the size they used to be! For $7, they dabbed on a tiny amount of rice and meat. The burritos were so small, my husband ordered two with extra meat, and they charged us $9 per. Add $3 for chips and a tiny cup of guacamole and $2 for drinks. For two people to eat here was $30! No joke. $30 for 3 fast food burritos. Not to mention yet: The steak was tough, like gristle. I couldn't even chew several of my bites. I just had to swallow down the gristly hunks whole. Yuck! Ok, the staff: When we got there, there was almost a line out the door. It was Friday night, so we accepted that. However, as I approached the counter, I realized that the staff was practically moving in slow motion! I couldn't believe they could have so many customers waiting and still move with absolutely no sense of urgency. The (heavily tattooed) girl folded my burrito slowly and delicately like it was a baby, while the girl at the register made me wait to pay while she let an employee skip ahead to pay for his dinner. Could this not have been reconciled AFTER the dinner rush? Seriously. Was there no manager on staff to keep an eye on these jokers?! Last, but not least, Chipotle has clearly re-branded itself since the last time I was there about 3-4 years ago. Now, they are all about using hormone-free meat, etc. However, at the time I was there, there was a sign on the counter that said they were out of the eco-friendly steak, so they were using 'conventional' steak instead. Oh well. Morals are great, but we still gotta make that money! Right?! Yes, I can appreciate the 'food with integrity' initiative, but is anybody really buying the 'We're hippies' vibe from them at this point? Chipotle is a multi-BILLION dollar company that was backed by McDonalds corp until recently. Give me a break. Don't eat here. The food quality and portion is poor, the service is slow, and the company doesn't deserve your support.

Chipotle is a good fast food staple in most places. Like many other reviewers, I found the Peoria version to not be all that great. Everytime I've been there it's been slooooooooooow. The first time I went I had to wait for about five minutes at the counter waiting for someone to ring me up. Seriously, go stand at a counter and time yourself to see how long five minutes actually is when all you want to do is buy a burrito and leave. I also noticed, as many other reviewers pointed out, that the burritos are not as big as many other Chipotle stores I've been to. I've been back a few times so it wasn't that one experience, but they build the burritos like we lost a war or something.

Just know that it makes more since to get the bowl. yo get so much more and it seems better to me to be full off the food rather than the tortilla.

Had take out recently, had forgotten how good chipotle's food was. Just tastes fresh! Really good food for the price. Best kids meal in town.

I consider myself to be quite the Chipotle fanatic but that doesn't mean individual stores can or can't improve. I lived in the Peoria area for over a year before this Chipotle was built and would every so often drive to Bloomington, IL to go to Chipotle. Well, needless to say, I was very excited when I heard Peoria was getting one. Here are some observations I had tonight. Food: Great like always. They were out of some salsas but I just tried a different one, not really a big deal. Service: Just like every Chipotle, the service was great, the people were friendly, and I had my food in a decently fast period of time. The only thing slowing it down was the lady in front of me not knowing what she was doing but that certainly isn't Chipotle's fault. Store: This is where I would ding them. For being a new place, it didn't reflect that. They had a pop line not working, the utensils weren't refilled, the sauces were few and far between. I had to sweep off my own seat which was covered in chips. I don't mind sweeping it but the floor was a mess too and just not overall well kept. Price: You pay a little extra for quality fresh ingredients. Do you know why Chipotle doesn't do Queso like Qdoba? It's because queso sauce has too many processed ingredients. Chipotle is doing the right things and that constitutes a little higher price. Don't like it? Well eat Taco Bell then. That's all I got!

Floors dirty w/ trash, counters and tables not wiped off, line moving way, way too slow. Avocado skins on sidewalk. Trash and food all over, in plain view. I have photos, but too embarrassed to post This was high traffic lunch time. I left. I agree with other reviews. I gave 2 stars because I normally love this restaurant. Was so glad Peoria finally opened up, but, until they change staff, I won't be back..

Unfortunately the new Peoria Chipotle is a school of atrocious customer service. I was one of two customers in five minutes that left without ordering. One staff member spilled ingredients on the counter, then collected them and put them back into a customer's burrito. Yikes.

Love Chipotle, finally Peoria has one which is a big plus. Only thing that the service is kinda slow and can take some time to place an order. The food is good and they use quality ingredients and the taste is better than their competition. I will always go to Chipotle when i get a chance, cant go wrong with a good tasting burrito.

Not very friendly. Had to wait for veggies and chicken. Several others were waiting as well! The food was good though. Thank God

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
