High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

I have eaten here many times and I try to order something different each time. Tonight we got the Brussels sprout salad. I was a bit hesitant but it is amazing! I loved it!

Great trendy atmosphere in a traditionally non-trendy town. The beer is very reasonably priced and the variety was nice. Burgers were decent, not too notable. The overpriced sushi selection consists of items that are fried, filled with mayo or cream cheese or covered in sauce, which shows they serve lower quality fish. The fries were inedible - not hot and tasted of old fry oil. The shining star is the dessert, Girls Best Friend, a $7 tempura fried brownie stuff with ice cream that is large enough to share. I would come back for the drinks and dessert and skip dinner.

Bash is awesome. The Macaroni Hamburger is delicious, the sushi is creative, and the sake it always best served hot.

Ok for the area. Loud, Noisy and not always customer friendly. Takes a very long time to receive food. I'm saying 1 - 1 1/2 hrs once you have ordered. And don't ever send anything back you don't like because you will pay for it and still have to pay for another dinner.

The food is awesome! Some deal no exaggeration it's gourmet and is an excellent mix of various styles. I've been here about 5 times now yes it's noisy and yes it's crowded but I didn't go there to relax like I was sitting on my living room couch. It's has some uncomfortable flimsy chairs but honestly the food and drinks are so out of this world for this area I could really care less. It's a great place to take your significant other or friends. It's not for kids it's kind of that bar atmosphere and really something to leave the little ones at home. If you have children 8yrs and up your good they'll enjoy the atmosphere as well. To sum it up.. Just go! If your a foodie this place rocks if your looking for a a family place for little children try down the street.

My boyfriend and I ate here coming back from a day of hiking at Starved Rock. My bf ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the crispy salmon salad. His dish was well-prepared but nothing special. A juicy grilled chicken breast with lettuce and tomato on an artisanal burger bun with truffle/parmesan fries on the side. But, my salmon salad, on the other hand, was .... incredible! Starting from the bottom of the bowl: baby spinach leaves, un-dressed coleslaw, Japanese-style crab salad made from REAL crab, a huge piece of crispy-coated salmon cut into diagonal slices, a whole sliced avocado, and ikura eggs for garnish. I asked for the BASH sauce on the side (because I like to control how much goes on my salad) and it was delicious. It's a combo of three sauces typically used to dress sushi rolls. This place could be in the middle of Wicker Park, with its hip/retro decor and young staff/clientele. But, the very reasonable prices and friendly, down-home service makes you glad it's in Ottawa. We'll definitely be back to try their rolls.

Excellent food, great service. The menu is really very diverse. I had the sushi, my husband had a burger and my daughter had mac & cheese. Everything was really great including the lemonade which was some of the best I've had. I believe I may have found my new favorite restaurant.

We love this place!!!!! The staff is great, even when they are super busy, which they always are. Who new that Ottawa Il would have a place like this. The sushi is fresh, the burgers are perfect. I even tried a burger, that had p-nut butter and jelly on it. What a great place in a small town.

BASH (Burger and Sushi House) is a recently opened fusion restaurant that offers gourmet crafted burgers and made-to-order sushi. While the concept of a burger house and sushi restaurant does not normally sound like a match made in heaven, BASH is able to make it work, offering great gourmet burgers and delicious sushi rolls. While the food is deliciously avant-garde, the service is divorced from this exceptionalism. Like most restaurants, BASH was not invulnerable to the poor, flustered, inattentive service that can come from the pressure and traffic of a newly opened business. To be seated our wait time was 1 hour and 30 minutes - with no reservations - so I was told. Our server did her best, with the pressure of the restaurant, but some further training could be needed for attentiveness and dealing with busy hours. Especially odd was our food delivery time (some plates as late as 50 minutes) and the manner it was delivered. Those at our table who ordered burgers received them about 25 minutes before those who ordered sushi, basically finishing their meal before others had even received theirs. With this type of food delivery, it's almost as if BASH is operating as two separate restaurants. Perhaps more kaizen in the kitchen? Their burger list offers many unique and appetizing toppings such as mac-and-cheese, sriracha mayo, potato salad, and mashed potatoes. I tried their #7 the Watts Up? burger featuring spicy chorizo, pico de gallo, jalapeno, habenero jack cheese and avacado, and it was very good. While the burgers are delicious, the real performer here is the sushi. Their sushi list is very extensive offering classic traditional sushi rolls - think the California roll - and many of their own specialty creations, both in cooked and raw sushi options. From what I sampled from their Sushi menu, I would say hands down, the True Blood Sushi roll, was the best thing I had at BASH. Spicy, flavorful, and delicious, the True Blood roll - spicy tuna tempura topped with shrimp tempura, spicy mayonnaise, unagi sauce, sriracha, scallion, masago and cruchy tempura flakes - was something I would go back for again and again, and seemed to stand above all the other sushi I tried. I also had The Spicy/ The Busy Bee which was decent and sampled pieces of spicy salmon tuna (good) and spicy salmon (okay), and pieces from the Classic Spicy Tuna roll (2nd favorite) and Eel roll (okay). Now for the downside. As I stated before, they are recently opened restaurant so I'll be forgiving of their service and wait times, however meals coming out awkwardly at separate times is something they seriously will have to work at. Presentation of the sushi was average and looked a little rushed, most likely (and hopefully) due to the bombardment of their recent opening; don't expect a Jiro Dreams of Sushi presentation, but still above anything within an hour's drive. The restaurant was rather annoyingly loud from the chatter of patrons and we found ourselves not fully hearing members of our own table during conversations; "what did you say?" being the common phrase of the evening. We felt that for a sushi restaurant it was strange that they did not offer real chopsticks at the table, but only cheap wooden chopsticks that you split yourself which notoriously split unevenly, with splinters; the chopsticks being less quality than I've received from area takeout Chinese restaurants. Their minimalist chairs and bar stools were also not the most comfortable to sit in, with a few members in our group realizing they are the same stool chairs used in high school chemistry labs. Adding to the need for improvement in their service, when our waitress brought back the change from our bill, she gave me my change but told me that some of the quarters had rolls out from bill holder on her way to the table and wanted to know "if I wanted this change or not, as she would have to reach under the bar to find it". I have never experienced anything like this from a waitress before, as a customer should never have to be put on the spot, in front of guests and asked if they want their change back. The proper action for the waitress should have been to simply go back into the cash register after she dropped the change and marked that some change would be missing from the drawer, and then delivered the exact change to me, the patron, never mentioning of mishap. Additionally BASH offers a decent size bar area with feature cocktails, sake, draft Chicago beers, and bottle imports - even a Japanese Beer: Kirin Ichiban. If you're feeling adventurous, try their sake bomb, it's well worth the fun of simply banging your hands down onto the table to get your sake shot (suspended by chop sticks) to fall into the pint glass. Overall, I give BASH 4 stars due to the quality of the food and its innovative concept for the area. Their service can use improvement, but their food pulls this restaurant up from being a 3 star to a shining 4 star rating. I shall return.

This was pretty good sushi! We got a tip from a friend that this place was worth trying, so we made the trip out, and they were right. We were seated promptly, although the place was packed on a Tuesday night (most likely as a result of the $5 wine or $5 beer flights they were offering). We saw a lot of people eating the burgers, but we decided to order a few courses of sushi. I like sushi - I've had it a lot. This was some pretty good sushi - it was made fresh at the sushi station on the south side of the restaurant. My favorite was their Dragon - it was colorful but most of all, tasted great. We'll be back!

Big fan of this place. Only place in Ottawa with an IPA on draft. I hear a lot of people saying the burgers are bland, which surprises me very much. I consider myself a particular critic of burgers and really love these. I had their spicy burger (I forget the names) and their one with hash browns, bacon and an egg on it. They both were phenomenal. The fries are great as well. Also, love the sloppy mess, or whatever that appetizer is called... Pulled pork on fries... Delicious! Glad it is in Ottawa!

Ottawa is lucky to have a place like BASH. The ambience is fantastic (something most other local restaurants majorly lack) with hardwoods floors, exposed brick, and brushed silver with understated, contemporary decor. The setting certainly attracts patrons, but the food is what makes BASH a local favorite. Both burgers and sushi are interesting and delicious. Stand-outs are the Foxy Roxy burger, and the Two Rivers roll. I've ordered a few things that I didn't enjoy (Salmon Burger, Mad Debate roll), but those are definitely anomalies in an otherwise delicious menu. The bar is on par with the kitchen, and the few mixed drinks I've tried have been tasty. The service is efficient and the waitresses are friendly and helpful. I've never waited long for the hostess or for food to arrive, even on busy nights. On weekend nights, the place is packed, so expect a wait at the door, especially for a larger party. Bottom line: you have to try this place.

Our new favorite place! Finally tried it today!! We live in Peru and would normally travel to Chicago for Sushi. This place is great for a small town like Ottawa! It's about time we had good sushi close to home!. We love the Two Rivers Roll... fabulous and the Spider roll was one of the best we have had in a while. Salmon nigiri was perfect. We also had the Cajun Siracha edamame and loved it. Alex was our server today and her friendly, cheerful personality was wonderful! Fun atmosphere, simple modern decor, wonderful service.... we will be back! I can't wait to come back for the burgers!

Went recently for sushi -- the shrimp tempura roll, Philadelphia roll, and spider roll were tasty. Not the best I've ever had but definitely good enough when I'm craving sushi. It's wonderful to have a sushi joint in town (they also have burgers, mac and cheese, and other goodies).

Excellent for casual dinning or date night. A friend and I sat outside to enjoy nice weather that comes around every blue moon around these parts. I had Basarita for cocktail, Crab Rangoon, and Vacation sushi rolls. Specialty drink was delicious. Food was excellent! Not just any place can pull off sushi. Very tasty. Love the special sauce that was on sushi and with crab Rangoon. Friendly staff. I just a came from San Diego and this place is comparable to some of the finer restaurants I've been too in the city.

Right off the highway in a super cute town, we were put off a little bit by the idea of burgers and sushi together at first but it's absolutely a good choice. Coming from people who know sushi, it's above decent. Slightly Americanized preparation and flavors and defiantly American sized portions but worth the trip! Very clean, great atmosphere. EXCELLENT service. Everyone was so nice from the first person to the last, everyone was smiling and very helpful! Highly recommend!

I'll be honest... We were looking for something to eat after visiting Starved Rock. A local couple pointed us towards Bash and we thought"burgers and sushi"? Well we went in blind. * the layout was great. *Hostess was helpful * waitress was great and friendly * I had the Watts burger. Honestly, the burger itself had no taste. The chorizo was more like chili. * The Cajun fries were a bit peppery, I love seasoned fries but gosh they were awful * she had the mac and cheese burger and she loved it. * truffle Fries were amazing * we had the deep fried iced cream and that it self redeemed

We have been regular patrons since it opened and really keep going back for the sushi. Their raw sushi is limited it the types of fish/seafood that is offered but the quality is top knotch. And my wife enjoys the variety of cooked "sushi" they offer. We have tried a few of the burgers, they haven't been much to write home about...not a lot of flavor in the meat and a chewey texture. I wouldn't waist your time on the burgers, the sushi is the winner in this strange combo of offerings! Try the house made crab ragoon as an appitizer, you won't be dissapointed... They also have a good selection of beers and drinks.

Felt very rushed. Place was busy about half full. Our waitress git our drink orders. Came back and took our food order. Ordered two burgers. I forgot to order my rare to medium rare. grabbed another waitress and asked her to fix the order. That didn't happen. The burger was well done. It was not bad just not how I requested it. Also ordered the onion straws they were hot. I don't mean temperature. I don't mind hot. I have 6 different hot saucces in my frig as we speak but these were not the onion straws I have order over 6x prior. I don't know. This place is not consistent unless you mean consistently inconsistent. It will be awhile before I come back again.

How is this cool place existing in .... Ottawa?!? Used to be the old Montgomery Wards catalog store. This place is super cute and the food is excellent. Odd combination of gourmet burgers and sushi menus but I like it! Very trendy decor. I ordered a Lincoln Yellowtail roll and it had some sort of red sauce that was HOT!! Loved it also ordered a Philadelphia roll. My friends ordered some rolls which I can't remember what they were -- see my pix. Also had Thai Donuts mmm mm Service was fast and friendly. Our server was helpful in recommending rolls and burgers. She was honest about some items which I appreciate including the red wine. I would be back the next time I'm in town!

Really really enjoyed my dinner dining experience (always do when I'm with my Love, especially on vacation!)- but delicious, fresh Pescatarian fare makes it even better! The only thing that makes me not give a perfect 5 star is that the restaurant was so so cold on a 75 degree day turn 70 degree evening, .. and that my table lacked place settings (plate, silverware or chopsticks, & napkins) and I had to ask the Server after my food was served. But the Server was otherwise good (I asked her name, but negated to remember or record it). The ambiance was good. And the food was really quite impressive (and I'm a rather particular pescatarian - mostly organic, gluten-reduced, whole food Integrative Nutrition Girl). :-)

Waitress was amazing. Super friendly and on the ball. She knew the menu well and answered questions. Drinks never went empty and food was delivered to the right person without asking who had what. Dishes were removed promptly and she regularly checked back to make sure we had everything we needed. A real class act! Can't help but think she got screwed though. We went with a group of 10 people and the restaurant doesn't take reservations. That's ok. But they wouldn't let us order under separate checks. We took at least 30 minutes passing the bill around so everyone could add up the amount owed. Another group was standing around waiting. They could have been seated and ordered in the time it took us to pay. BASH apparently doesn't want groups of people and I felt bad for the waitress who probably wanted to turn tables faster. It was a huge negative after a meal and we all left mumbling to each other that we won't come back as a group again. The food was okay. I had the Bash Burger, fries, and some salmon sushi. The burger was cooked well and it looked good. Salmon sushi was good as well. Not outstanding, but good. The sea salt fries were excellent. Crunchy and flavorful. I hate to continue, but lastly, the chairs were uncomfortable and I kept slipping out of my seat. My wife and I may go back with the kids. But we will consider other options when with a group.

This is a review on carry out service and food. The first two times I called in, I was hung up on. The 2nd two times I got a recorded voice mail message to punch in a code. The fifth time, I finally got a girl. I asked for an order of chirashi (as recommended by another yelper) and was told they don't have that or make that. I told them others have ordered and she said no, they don't make it. Not the best at customer service. Defeated I hung up. Then I called back and ordered a spicy salmon ($7) and a jalepeno roll ($16). $23 and change for 2 rolls. After sticker shock, my husband went to pick up the order. He commented on how rude everyone was. Interesting to me because he usually doesn't comment on such things. The only special request I asked the girl when placing the order was to include a menu. When I got my food, no menu. Food was decent. I've had better spicy salmon that was actually spicy and far cheaper. The jalepeno roll was stuffed with a lot of sweet fake crab. Not a fan. I don't think I'll be back, not for $16 tiny 8 piece rolls. Better to drive to Joliet, Lisle, or Naperville and get all you can eat for $10-$25 for better quality and NICER service.

This place is cool for Ottawa but not somewhere that I would rate high on a foodie list. My main complaint is that the sushi is low quality fish which really ruins the entire appeal. Stick to cooked shrimp or veggie rolls and you'll be golden. I've never had the burgers but my boyfriend is a big fan. The waitresses are all about 12 years old and don't seem very interested in the enjoyment of your meal. I was there one night when they left the paper in a friend's cheeseburger and when we told the waitress she just said "oh sorry." I mean at least bring a new burger? Anyway if you're in Ottawa go to Bianchis as a first choice and this as second.

Ok. A sushi place in downtown Ottawa. Well that raised a red flag but decided to give it a try. Starter no reservations. Well let me tell you for a Tuesday it was pretty packed. But we got seats at the bar so all was good. The only suggestion would be a paging system. This place is very busy and that might help. Just saying. We only had to wait about 20 mins and then got a table. Appetizers. My hubby got the tuna tower and I got the tar tar. OMG so yummy. The tuna tower was huge. And delicious. The tar tar was yummy and had a good hit of heat. For main courses we got the Lincoln and the Crabby Monday rolls. Both were delicious !! This is a gem in Ottawa and I hope that it stays because there are lots more items that I want to try !!

I went to BASH last weekend. I had heard good things from a friend. I ordered a BYO burger and the sea salt fries. My burger was good and I loved the brioche bun. My fries, however, were quite cold. I asked for a new batch, and they complied. For dessert I shared the Mochi ice cream, which was good. The prices were not outrageous. Our bill came to about $28 for our dinner, which was very fair. I didn't find the restaurant as noisy as others, and I am very sensitive to loud noises. I quite liked the scenery in the restaurant. All the drinks are served in Mason jars which is also cool. There is a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, but I just had diet Coke. Next time I'll try a micro-brew or foreign beer for sure. Neat restaurant -- needs growth in some areas but perfectly acceptable as is.

BASH is a fantastic concept; its owners are very smart and clearly considered their clientele when conceptualizing the menu. While burgers and sushi are not a match made in heaven, it makes perfect sense for north central Illinois, where out of towners like me can enjoy a spicy tuna roll while less adventurous patrons opt for a bacon cheeseburger. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sushi was very fresh and tasted great. I would have preferred less spicy mayo, as this seemed to drown out a lot of the fresh ingredients, but our party still finished off all the rolls we ordered. The rolls were also a little sloppy (I am fairly adept with a pair of chopsticks, and a couple of the rolls simply crumbed when I tried to pick them up). All in all, however, I was impressed. Other members of our party went the burger route and seemed happy with their meal. A word to the wise: the burgers will be prepared medium well (the menu said medium, but they looked to be a couple degrees past that point) unless instructed otherwise. A few minor gripes: service was incredibly slow. Our beers didn't arrive for at least 20 minutes, and our poor frazzled waitress chirped "can I bring you anything else?" after she delivered only half of our table's food. It's also terribly cold inside BASH (we visited 12/26), which isn't helped by the patrons who seem oblivious to the wide open door through which they have just passed. Close the door, folks. Better yet, note to BASH: come visit us in Chicago, where all restaurants invest in temporary foyers to keep some of the frosty air outside in the winter months. All in all, the good far outweighed the bad. Bravo to Ottawa and the people behind BASH for trying something new.

This is just a great place for the area. Great, unique burgers, awesome sushi, and a great atmosphere. Good beer selection as well.

I have been to BASH and really enjoyed it in the past. My boyfriend and I drove the 45 minutes from Yorkville to Ottawa in a snow storm last winter to get there. The food was great, drinks were good and we had a lovely evening sitting at the sushi bar. In fact, we held it in such high regard that whenever anyone mentioned sushi, we always brought up BASH. It is a pain for us to get to so we considered it a treat to make the drive to go to BASH for sushi. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience last weekend. I called to see if they took reservations on a Saturday night around 7 because I knew it would be busy. The girl on the phone said no but we decided to go anyway. When we got there, it was packed. The girl told us it would be a 45 minute wait for a table and an hour and a half wait for sushi since one of the sushi chefs was sick. I get that things like this happen, what I don't understand is why she didn't tell me that on the phone when I called to ask about reservations. It would have saved me an hour and a half in the car and a lot of disappointment. We did not stay and wait and after this experience, we probably wont' be back.

Fish was fresh and tasty, rice needs work. Not sure if they were making proper sushi rice.... (rice was bland, did not taste vinegar) It is a nice restaurant, very busy, a bit noisy... I will return, and enjoy their maki sushi

5 out of 5 stars for the food, drinks, and prices. 3 out of 5 for customer service because the girls I've encountered (so far) aren't very friendly or smiley. But the food comes hot, quick, and exactly as described. I recommend the BASH burger.. Best burger I've had in awhile. The interior design is very trendy and industrial. Overall it's one of the best in the area, by far!

This is by far the most unique and hyped restaurant Ottawa has ever seen. The atmosphere was lively and busy. There were three of us, and after a bit of confusion by the wait staff, we were seated. The decor is very modern and warm. The beer list is one of the better lists I've seen in Ottawa. I went with the Anti Hero IPA on tap, and it was the highlight of my dining experience, sadly. The wine and sake list is atrocious and embarrassing. I'm not looking for Grand Cru Champagne, but come on. I saw my favorite, hamachi. Yes please! I let my hosts choose everything else. I've been a blessed diner and have eaten at some awesome restaurants. The hamachi they served me was lukewarm, not fresh and was sliced far too thick. My stomach is still turning. The quality of the fish was low grade. I'm not surprised, it's Ottawa... My hosts went with True Blood, which was overly rich and greasy. I had this exact same dish at Aodake in Romeoville. (Looking at their menu, their dishes are very similar to BASH.) A unique scallop roll with a warm piccata styled sauce, topped with melted cheese was a good idea, but the melted cheese was hard to cut being served in foil. Good idea, but it falls short. The BASH Bowl is a salty, hot mess that includes fake broth, soy sauce, frozen vegetables, noodles, soy sauce, cold eggs and soy sauce. Just bad. We didn't do anything on the burger side. There were some interesting looking burgers and sides and I'll give that menu a shot. The sushi side of BASH is a cookie cutter sushi house that falls short due to low quality ingredients. Raw fish needs to be high in quality and fresh. Food poisoning isn't pleasant. I'm interested in trying out the burgers and sides. Our server was polite and attentive despite being busy. I don't know if it was intentional, but the chairs my hosts and I sat in were extremely uncomfortable. Is it to keep those tables turning? 2 stars for the beer and service being generous.

This place is EXTREMELY loud. We wanted to sit outside but were told we must order at the bar and serve ourselves. The problem with that plan is ...you have to be served. We waited at the bar for a very long time and never were acknowledged. The last thing I want to do is pay money to eat at a place that ignores me and is so loud I can't hear my friends. Too bad thin place has so many negatives. Ottawa needs decent places to eat. Hopefully some day thy will learn what good customer service means. For now, I won't bother ever going there again.

Traveling and decided to use yelp on where we should have dinner. Picked BASH because of the variety. We ordered a little bit of everything. The sushi was good a little pricey but fair. We also split a byo burger... Very good. I recommend to order it medium due to we didn't specify and it came out fairly well done. We also split an order of there house Mac and cheese. This item is huge! Very delicious but wasn't served very hot. We ate it anyways because it's Mac and cheese. Drink prices are very reasonable and we would come back.

I LOVE this place! Awesome sushi, great drinks, and good atmosphere! I highly recommend the Fire Ball'in Roll, Dragon, and Volcano Rolls. The Basherita is both delicious and strong! I love the atmosphere. The wait staff is always cheerful and on-the-ball. My only complaints are that the chairs are uncomfortable and the service can be a little slow.

We didn't try the burgers, but instead just sat at the sushi bar. I have been eating sushi for decades and have had sushi all over North America. This place has been by far the worse....sorry for being so harsh but for the price point they are charging the quality should be much higher. For the quality of fish, they should be charging half what they are. Typically I ask the sushi chefs about the seafood and its origins, most places can't answer, which generally implies is just came off the sysco truck.

I had the Bash burger and tried the true blood & golden dragon sushi. The food was really good and for my first time having sushi, I loved the true blood! The service was good, waitress was attentive. The only complaint I have are the seats! What in the world were the owners thinking?! They are the type that you would find in a garage like a stool...my butt still hurts! Otherwise I'll definately go again, just with a seat cushion next time!

We went to BASH for my bf's birthday and arrived at around nine thirty. I understand it's a little close to closing, but it was a Saturday night and it was still full. As soon as we arrive the waitress was rushing us to order because the kitchen was closing, ok. We ordered carb Rangoon as an appetizer and it was brought out promptly and was very tasty. The waitress brought out our entrees and our desert (a girl's best friend) at the same time. My parents ordered burgers and thought they were good. My bf and I ordered sushi (shrimp tempura and two rivers) it was also quite good. We were forced to eat quickly since one; the waitress came by and mention they were closing in ten minutes and two; the desert was melting. Once halfway done with the entree she comes by gives the check and waits for it back! Giving us no time to discuss how we would split it. Takes the check, brings the bill to sign and never comes back. Once we got up to leave we notice there are still three tables. There was absolutely no need to rush us because we were not the only people left!! Overall the food is good for the area, but the service needs work, also they should probably stay open later on Fri & Sat.

Best place to eat in Ottawa, IL! Such a great concept, I'm a little jealous I didn't come up with it first. Came here on a Friday or Saturday (can't remember exactly) night with my fiancee and sister. Yes, the wait time was long, was told 30 min but I think we waited 20-25. To the people complaining about wait time: duh, if you come during peak hours you may have to wait, especially with a small place. The fact that they are that busy is usually a GOOD thing. I find that to be a ridiculous thing to complain about. And yes, it was quite loud in there so old people stay home lol. My sister is hard of hearing and she didn't say anything about it so I'm not gonna complain about it either! Drink menu is great, lots of yummy sounding cocktails and some craft brews. I couldn't partake because I'm pregnant but I will definitely be back to try some of the cocktails in the future. I am not a seafood fan so I got the burger topped with mac and cheese and the parmesan truffle fries. It was hard to pick one burger as they have a creative and delicious sounding menu of burgers. I was very happy with my choice but I'll definitely be back to try some of the others. The fries were awesome, only downside is I couldn't stop other people at my table from stealing them! My sister and fiancee shared a few different sushi rolls and said the sushi was great. They can't wait to come back either. The service could have been better, I could tell our server was trying her best though and was just very busy. It could just be because they are new and the servers are still getting the hang of everything, but they might want to think about having one or two more servers on busy nights and giving them slightly smaller sections if this is going to be an issue. Overall I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back!

Easily some of the best food in Ottawa with a very cool vibe. The limited hours and days of operation are all that keeps BASH from a 5 star review. Need to serve lunch and open on Sundays. Definitely worth a visit.

I didn't know what to expect when I first heard about a sushi restaurant opening in Ottawa; I've since been there twice and I was impressed both times. I especially enjoyed the spicy salmon roll; next time I go I'm going to try one of the burgers. It is a little pricey for this area, and parking can be dicey during busy hours, but if you can get past that, or you just want something different for this area, check it out...

What the hell.. that's all I can say. After walking in with my fiancee to set up a reservation at 6 PM on a Friday I was told it wasn't necessary because they 'weren't planning on being busy.' I said I'd like to have one just in case and she began to write down my info as if it were some sort of burden to her. So for some reason I put all of this aside and return at 6 with my fiancee. We were told we had to wait another 30 minutes for a seat. Incredible. At this point we wait around outside where the noise level is just a notch above tolerable. After 30 minutes we go in again and we are told there still aren't any tables available. I then look at her little makeshift notepad and she has penciled in people above us who made reservations after we did. We leave and walk right in to R Grottos just a block away and get a table without any problem or lack of care/enthusiasm from their staff. Horrific. I went back yesterday to try the food so I could write a review that wasn't entirely biased because of the horrible service (or complete lack thereof.) I was seated in what is probably the least functional chair I've ever had the displeasure of sitting in. The waitress was very friendly and it was a breath of fresh air to say the least. I don't remember her name but she should be commended. Great communication and interpersonal skills. I ordered sushi. Although, I do not remember what kind. It really wasn't anything special. No flavor from the fish at all, but I did like the basic presentation of it. Almost skill-less. Won't be going back. You'd really have to not have been out to have good food to enjoy this at all. Shack 'theme' is appropriate.
