I did NOT enjoy eating here at all! I went to eat brunch with an old family member of mine there and it was absolutely horrible! Before the waitress came to take our order, she turned to the table aside from us to take that family's order & before she turned back she scratched her behind like nobody's watching! Then!!....as soon as the waitress brought out meals, she put the check on the table as if we were going to pay already! The food wasn't even very good, the hash browns tasted frozen and were really crunchy as well. Don't recommend this place to anyone who barely arrived to Chicago!

The service was good, but the place was gross. I was given dirty silverware. Seriously who ever rolled them in the napkin should be paying more attention. The lid on the A1 sauce looks like it had never been clean! They said they had a vinaigrette dressing, no it wasn't, it was straight balsamic vinegar. so I asked for oil and vinegar, the oil dispenser was so nasty. It too looked like it had never been clean. I will say the food was reasonably priced. I had a glass of wine that only cost me $1.99!! Now that's pretty unheard of. My advice, the wait staff should take off every lid on the condiments and and let them soak in hot water while they wipe the bottles down. Also turn the lighting down, it shouldn't be so bright in there.

I guess we caught them on an off night. It is usually a solid place for a meal but this time nothing seemed to go our way. Our waitress forgot one of our meals completely, she did offer to have them make a new one right away, however it was the pork chops, which usually take some time. It can't be whipped up in 5 mins. I guess she tried. I ordered there largest salad (garbage salad) and to be honest it wasn't that large. It was slightly larger then the dinner salad. To end the experience, I used the 10% off yelp coupon (woo-hoo) and no one at the restaurant ever saw it before. Four people looked at me like I had 2 heads. In the end, they accepted the coupon.

This is only my second time dining at Jedi's Garden. The first time was years ago around 2am after a night of drinking. Not sure what we ordered but it was greasy and hit the spot. This time we made the mistake of coming during daylight hours. We arrived around 10am and were seated immediately. My toddler son loved the fish tanks and luckily we were seated right next to one. The service was fine. The bathrooms needed a good cleaning. The food was adequate. I do have to give them props for trying to theme the new gaming room. The cardboard cut out of Elvis really gives it a nice touch. I don't plan on coming here again.

Ordered an aged T bone steak. Ya what ever you do don't order it. It's terrible. I had to dump a bottle of A1 sauce due to no flavor and was as good as a piece of card board. Service sucked. A lot of missing food. Don't go here for lunch. Not worth the money. Stay away.

Waitress was brand new so everything was very slow. But food was not the best. Avg.... Ruben was extremely fatty, fries were cold. Drinks came in 6 oz glasses and it took forever to get a refill. And our check was incorrect. Probably won't be going back.

I was very disappointed in my first visit here. We were seated quickly but the service was very slow. For 9am breakfast with a half empty restaurant I was expecting better. The server was slow. I only had my coffee refilled once and it took a while to get that refill. The toast was under cooked, the bacon heavily over cooked. The busser came by and picked up only one of the many empty plates. I certainly won't be back.

We love this place! Great steak night deal on wed. Plus, this year for thanksgiving they had a turkey dinner special that they delivered. 5 of us ate for $100 plus we gave a generous tip for the holiday. Definitely should try the place out!

Wish I had taken a picture of what we ordered. My husband was very satisfied with his brontosaurus burger, we ordered hot wings they tasted 1000 times better than buffalo wild wings! That's what motivated me to write this review. Waitress at wild wings got my order wrong and brought me bone in wings instead of boneless and I was terribly disappointed. Jedis wings are delicious left me licking my fingers which I usually dont do! Try the wings! Oh ya and great friendly service.

This is my first review and I usually do not post reviews however I feel the need to do so. I went to Jedi's with my 2 year old today. The brunette at the front desk did not acknowledge us at all as we waited to be sat. Instead she flew by us to the door, more concerned about closing it. I asked her should we just seat ourselves as they only had 4 tables of guests in their restaurant. She said know and I had to lead the conversation by asking for a booth please. Still no welcome or even a polite smile. It would seem if you are going to have someone representing your restaurant as the first contact with your guests you may want someone more personable. When we were sat Jessica was our server. She was great! I stayed because she had the right personality. The food was fine. We had soups and salad. When I went to pay, I again was not acknowledged. This time by a older man with gray hair. Not only did he not acknowledge me he sat a single man instead! I had to ask if I could pay the bill. He took my payment, never asked how things wet or thanked me for coming in. He ran the card and gave me my copy. I had to ask if I could please see the original to tip the server! If he was the owner I see why the restaurant was almost empty at the dinner hour! What a shame. I looked forward to making that a regular stop for our mommy/daughter play day. Guess I will have to choose from the many other restaurants in the area.

Great place. I've only had breakfast there but it is very good. The food comes out fast and it is pretty cheap. My only complaint is the tiny glasses but other than that I would recommend this place for a nice, quick sit down breakfast/brunch.

While they appear to have good food. My beef sandWich was in edible. So dry and had no flavor. Service was fine and my friends seemed to enjoy their food. I was not impressed and thought the food to be unremarkable. Their lentil soup was good.

I am sorry to report that my brother & I went for breakfast. Normally I let things slip if it's hella busy but that was not the case at all with only 6 tables being used. There was just no excuse for bad service. The food was stale, they didn't serve us the complimentary rolls & muffins with butter, the coffee was super super watery, the wait staff was a little grumpy (though the staff that assisted us actually were not), & the hash browns tasted of old oil! I guess I won't come here for breakfast again though I will be coming to see if lunch is still as awesome as it has been each time I have been here.

The soup here alone is worth the trip -- far better than you usually get from a family restaurant. This is my favorite local place to order from, as my food is always good and comes quickly. I rarely ever eat there, so I can't speak to dining in, but I never wait for my food when I order out and they now deliver. The food is not gourmet but it's quality food. I am often disappointed by Oak Lawn restaurants and the terrible quality of food I get from them these days; I've never had quality problems at Jedi's.

I had no issue what so ever with the food, it came out hot and tasty. The menu is absolutely huge, and very diverse. Our waitress was attentive, not overly friendly, but very accommodating and professional. The prices are pretty decent, and it was clean. The decor is a little dated, but cozy, with a lot of colorful fish tanks to look at. I only had 2 issues with this place. First issue being the catty, young girls at the front counter, that seemed more interested in gossiping and giggling with one another, rather than helping cash out the line of customers waiting to leave. Second issue was just some of the other patrons themselves. Throughout our entire dining experience this "couple" allowed their child to scream and whine every 2 minutes as they just sat there and ignored it, which after 40 minutes becomes more than just a little irritating. From a female perspective, watch for wandering eyes from some of the other patrons, ages ranging from high school to retired...I'm talking outright thirsty at times lol. I will have to visit a few more times to determine if all of this remains consistent, as it was my first visit.

I got dragged here on Mothers Day and it was a madhouse. They appeared to be understaffed because there were multiple tables open but the wait was a half hour. To top that off some crazy belligerent old couple decided to sit themselves rather than wait their turn. The server told them that is not how it worked and the couple through a fit. The manager was called and for some reason allowed them to stay and served them. This pretty much infuriated the crowd of 25 people or so waiting in front of this couple. Once we were sat the service was very friendly but poor. Multiple mix ups of food items and not bringing what was ordered. Food came out fast but was sub-par and nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is stale and dated. However, there are interesting fish tanks and a sweets window at the counter. Overall experience not bad but nothing that would make me go back.

Yuck! I went here for a birthday celebration and ordered the chicken parmesean with spaghetti. It was disgusting! It tasted like canned spaghetti - spaghetti-o's... So I just ate the chicken, that was somewhat decent. Needless to say, I won't be back no time soon.

I agree with most of the latest reviews.... Jedi's has lost its edge as being one of the best restaurants on the South side. We were sat at a booth that still had food remains on the table top and on the seats. The coffee mugs and cream containers had chips in the glassware and they were not clean. Water glasses had a film over them.... probably not washed long enough in a hot temperature. Flies circle the tables but it is cold out.... so they must originate from the kitchen. Waitress was nice but overworked and didn't have time to pay attention to detail. Food arrived in a timely manner but some was cold.... needed to be warmed up... also vegetables were from yesterday or the day before.... as they were wilted with signs of not being fresh. Could this just be an off day for Jedi's???

I recently gave my girlfriend a "70th" birthday celebration at Jedi's. having made the reservation in February. When we arrived May 24th another party was in the room so I inquired as to when we could get into the room to set up for our party. The waitress went to get the manager who told me "what do you want me to do throw them out?" I thought that was strange since we had made reservations. One thing led to another and the manager then said "I guess you people are going to use the race card" and if you do you can leave right now. It was too late to do anything but accept his rudeness and disrespect because guest were arriving and I did not want to cause a commotion. Needless to say, that's my last visit to Jedi's..

This place is a dive diner. However, too bad the quality of the food does not match the quality of the service. Their French onion soup is made with beef stock. BLT and breakfast items are typical diner options. The music and random fish tanks are cute.

Jedi's is a great family restaurant. My personal favorite dish is the gyro plate. Good food at a reasonable price!

I came here many years ago and I was hesitant to come in again. It started off well and so what can I say? Well here goes. We were seated and of course they sat us towards the back near the ice machine and let me tell you, it was cold. So I asked if we could move due to my mom being a senior and I knew the draft would not suit her. So after some talking to we were told (of course not without a SIGH from our waitress) that okay let them find me a table. There were tables everywhere by the way. So we moved to another table and it was better. We ordered our food of course and this took 20 minutes and I was thinking it was because we moved. But others sat around us and were served in less then five minutes, ummm what about us? Finally 15 minutes later our food came out, and yes they were cold plates (we ordered breakfast menu) and even the grits with cheese were tough. My spoon took out the whole grits as if it froze in time. I guess it was sitting too long. I didn't complain because I was hungry but well, maybe I did when she asked; "How is everything?" So I told her. Not a big deal but I figured I might as well say something. But I did it in a nice way though. Still, I gave a tip and that's that. I don't think I will be returning but I thought I should at least do a review, good or bad I always say it as I see it. So if you want a breakfast or lunch spot, this place is really not bad, but of course its best once you get a seat, Shut your pie hole up and sit there. If not you may have to wait a long time for your food and sometimes that is not a good thing.

I love lemon rice soup and I'm really picky when trying it from new places. But I must say their lemon rice soup here is the best!!!

We've been eating at Jedi's Garden for about 25 years. More often breakfast than lunch or dinner but a couple recent dinner trips had me deciding to do a review. Many people describe this as a "Typical Greek restaurant". Now with exception to the Saganaki, that is just melted cheese in a pan (flames and "Opa!" started as a Chicago thing and not really part of the traditional dish), I couldn't find much that would be found in a Greek restaurant (not a single grape leaf anywhere on the menu). What this place should be described as is a traditional diner with fancier entrees and desserts. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean and there is always an excess of bus boys and cleaners throughout the restaurant. My recent dinner interactions have all involved a waitress named Vee. This woman is a great diner waitress that goes out of her way to make her customers happy and is a great conversationist on most any topic. I now request to sit in her section if she's working. Not every waiter or waitress would be classified as great here. Some would even find it difficult to be classified as good. Your quality of service may vary greatly. The food is usually quite good but the menu selection is pretty big and not every item here is consistent. I've found that ordering the daily specials always results in perfectly cooked and presented food. A few things we had on this last trip was creamy lemon rice soup with a nice depth of flavor and great consistently. A daily special of lobster ravioli was really good and had great lobster flavor, a mild lemon marina sauce, and four nice sized shrimp on top. The pork chops Vesuvio was good but diminished a bit with gloppy gravy and dry peas on top. Fudge eclairs have been pretty good, and the lemon meringue pie is very tasty with a very high and dense meringue. A couple things I don't care for is a "two refills only" soft drink policy (with just 10oz glasses) as each glass of soda costs them less than $.10 cents, and their refusal multiple times to accept the 10% Yelp check-in offer stating "I'm the owner and never offered anything like that!" Not the worlds best customer service to end a visit. Over all a good quality of food for the price and having the right waiter or waitress really makes a difference. I'd toss the rude owner right out.

I had a spur of the moment breakfast craving for dinner and I jumped on grub hub for a delivery and saw that they delivered. I haven't had much experience with this restaurant so I was a bit iffy on getting food from there. I have no doubt that in the future I wont hesitate. Everything I ordered was great. They gave me everything I could possibly need to have a great meal. Great service even out of the restaurant.

If I could, I'll give this restaurant no stars! Horrible place. I came here with my family for my brothers graduation for the first time. When we were next to get seated, we got ignored by the host and took the people that were on back of us. We never tried the food, we stepped out and felt like this was not a good environment. Wouldn't recommend this place even if it was the last restaurant in town. We tried Fox's next door. Best friendly place to go. If you're looking for great and friendly staff, go there.

This place kind of feels like some cheap vegas diner that hasn't been updated since the 70s. The staff is nice and friendly, but the food is not very good. The menu has this gorgeous picture of a of a perfectly cooked and garnished steak with sautéed mushrooms and all the fixings. When it came, it was the piece of meat by itself on a giant plate floating in oily water. It was so unappetizing. When I asked for the sautéed mushrooms, I was given a plate of soggy canned mushrooms. Their fries were good, so maybe it depends on what you ordered. The "manager" or owner - a sketchy looking character who looks the the kind of guy who'd come after you for not paying your gambling debts - was just kind of standing around staring at everyone too - especially the ladies. It was unsettling. The staff was hard working and friendly and I feel bad that they have to work in such a cheap place. On another occasion when my mother in law went here with her kids (she is from another country), they brought her the bill right away like they were afraid she was going to dine and dash.

Tasteless! I've been to this restaurant 3 times giving it the benefit of the doubt. I was with a group of friends and we all got different dishes and absolutely no one liked their dish. I'm done giving this restaurant chances.

Cold coffee, not even a refill on free water and bad service. So, I needed a spoon. I asked an employee for a spoon and she directed me (the costumer) to go get one from the bus boy rather than her being a good employee that exemplifies good customer service and getting the spoon for me. SERIOUSLY??

I give this place a 2.5 stars. Recently went with my girlfriends grandparents and myself. Menu is very very diverse and you would be hard pressed to not find at least 2-3 things you would want to order and the food is really not the problem at this establishment. All is reasonably priced and about the quality you would expect, tasty but nothing special. The problem is the management with this place, in particular the service. Our waitress was stretched incredibly thin between it seemed like every table in the place. She was very helpful with us but it seemed like she was the only one in the place who was waitressing even though they had amble staff hanging around the place. Just not sure what everyone else was doing. This place is great for a cheap bite to eat just don't expect the service to blow your socks off.

Came here for my moms birthday breakfast, it was okay. My hasbrowns were cold but that's it. The staff and waitresses were nice. Wouldn't come back unless i had too.

My shrimp was burnt and still had shells on it. My husband's chicken on his waffle tasted like a rubber tire. The restaurant appeared to be clean but the food was not worth the wait.

Living in the Chicago during the 90's early 200 ' my family would go to Jedi's once per week. The food was heavenly... Five star heavenly. I left Chicago in 2002, and during a recent trip to Chicago we decided to treat ourselves to the comfort food from Jedi. Total disappointment! I know restaurants change owners and management but this was suck a thrill kill. The food was not good. Moreover, the service sucked. We even asked if the restaurant changed hands it was so BLAH.

This place is the epitome of hit or miss. It's a nice little greek joint to be sure...but sometimes the execution of the food is so-so. Old people love this joint, and I love old people, but I might have to wait a few years before popping in here again.

Typical Greek-owned restaurant. The couple of times I've eaten there, everyone in our party thought the food was good, not great. The turkey bacon club I had today tasted pretty good, but the toast didn't have any crispness at all and the bread was actually flattened. I did enjoy the cream of chicken soup. The rolls and butter were also tasty. I would have given it 2 stars, but I am giving 3 due to our wonderful server, Diane. She was genuinely nice and told us that she loved us...and I really think she meant it! She repeated our entire order to make certain she got it right and kept the soda refills coming. Diane should train the other servers on how to do it right. Our entire bill for 7 people for Sunday lunch was $86, which is a pretty good deal. Like with most of these types of restaurants, the menu is way too huge. If you offer 20 of your top sellers and cut the other 100, the quality is bound to improve.

I'll go maybe 3.5 stars. Going over the menu, the prices and portions seem a bit cheaper than most other places. Jambalaya - Not your typical jambalaya, but it was okay. They do not skimp on the meats. I just wished they chopped the chicken pieces a little smaller. Blackened Prime Rib Special - My guy got this and it was good. Very tender. Service is a bit spotty. She was pretty good until the end. She came by and asked if we needed anything and I told her refill and napkins. She disappeared and started to help two other tables and took her a while to come back. She came back and asked if we needed anything.....and I had to tell her again. If I do return, I would like to try something else and definitely try out one of their desserts.

Pretty decent place. Went for a Sunday dinner. Many choices to choose from which can be a good or bad thing if you're indecisive. Waitress was on top of her tables which was good could have been friendlier but she did her job well. Food was good and not to expensive.
