We used to order in from this place. 10 to 15 times a year. They had a re-do after a 'fire' in the kitchen. After that their service dropped off so far the we no longer use them for our go-to delivery restaurant. Poor communication when you order and NO HELP about special requests. Once we got something completely wrong on our delivery and instead of complaining then, we told the order taker upon our next order about the problem with our past order....no help. If your order gets screwed up, and it might, call them immediately and request a fix.

Ordered delivery this past weekend and was soooo disappointed. First of all, it was expensive. $38 for 2 entrees - Mongolian Beef and Curry Chicken. And each entree was very bland, little to no spices. You expect a curry to have some spice, maybe a little kick, and all you tasted was chicken, no flavor whatsoever. The quality & cut of the beef and chicken was great - thin and good quality - which is more than you get at the usual chinese place. Don't think I'll be back, though, due to the lack of any flavor or spice.....

Gotta love this place! We order from here about 5-8 times a year and get delivery every time since we live nearby - I've never set foot in the place. Speaking of delivery, for once - a place that always delivers sooner than the estimated time! They will *always* tell you "45 minutes" but usually show up 15-20 minutes early. Good to know in case you're going to take a quick shower before chowing down! We usually order the chicken fried rice (YUMMMMM!!!!!!), egg rolls (best I've ever had), sweet & sour chicken for the kid (although we all nibble on it) and then my husband usually gets either the Governor's Shrimp or Sweet & Sour Trio (chicken, shrimp & pork). We tried the crab rangoon tonight for the first time - amazing!!! Everything has been outstanding. My one and only complaint about this place is the cost. Yes, they have great quality food, but still - $60 for a family of 3 for the above-mentioned items seems a bit much. That being said, it absolutely won't deter me from ordering from them in the future!

Went to Szechwan Kingdom last night for a pre-planned birthday party. I ordered everything ahead of time and expected a wonderful evening. NOT! The waiter was rude and disrespectful. The service was terrible - almost an hour and a half to receive our entrees. Although the food was good, everyone was too upset to eat by the time it came. Might be okay for 2-4 people but definitely not for a large party.

If I could give it no stars I would. The food was bad and then when your sister comes in and gives you a look like she saw a cockroach crawling across the buffet and then you find out she did, that about kills your desire to ever eat there again. My family loves chinese food and have eaten at many different chinese resturants all around chicago this was by far the worst. The fact that they have a cockroach problem also doesn't help.

Atmosphere: Beautiful interior and high-backed booths that make you feel comfortable if you're dressed for a date or just in jeans. It is never very crowded (which surprises me) so you can always get a seat right away. Service: So polite, attentive and professional. On one visit our waiter left us alone a bit too long but that was definitely the exception. Food: Good variety and excellent preparation - never greasy or overly salty. They season the food very well, but despite the name "Szechwan", the heat ranges from mild to moderate. That's fine with me but if you want your food Szechwan hot, I think you'll have to convince them that you know what you're asking for. Value: Two of us usually spend $30 (+ or - $5) which I feel is terrific given the upscale atmosphere, attentive service and quality food.

I never write negative reviews. Most reasonable resteraunt owners will accomodate you for poor service, but these people are not reasonable. We arrived for a 6:30 pm reservation and did not get seated till 7:15 pm. Then almost everything about our order was screwed up. Our appetizers came after the meal as well as the fried rice. We got things we didn't order and the things we did were prepared wrong or without sauce. We never got refills of water or tea unless we practically tripped the waiter. We spoke to the owner who refused to make any type of accommodation on the bill for there incorrect ordering or late service. They did not even say they were sorry or apologize in anyway. Without being rude we told them how unhappy we were with the service and they just didn't care. WE WERE THERE FOR THREE HOURS thats how long it took to get our check. My mother was practically in tears when she got a bill for over 100 dollars for really really bad service for things we did not order. In my 50 years of eating out I have NEVER experienced this level of bad service and they just did not care at all how we felt.

Tried their lunch buffet. As expected, everything was fried. The disappointing part was that less than 1/4 of the buffet had food, the rest was just empty trays needing to be refilled. I waited 45 minutes and only 2 items were replenished.

i set out today to find real cheap/gross/delicious chinese, but instead of happily surprised when I ordered from here. high quality food, very nice interior. They have a buffet that looks great. Their luncheon specials are about $7.50 total and you get a soup, an egg roll, and the dish served on steamed or fried rice. man their food is yummy! I'll def be going back.

My family has been going to this restaurant for over 8 years and LOVE it! The owners are so friendly. The food is fresh and they take no short cuts on the sauces (the Empress sauce takes hours to prepare and is a favorite). There are a lot of great vegetarian options in addition to the standard meats. They are very accommodating with special requests (extra spicy, substitutions...). In the land of food chains it feels good to support a family owned business that really cares about their customers.

carolynne, you're crazy. i love this place. i know like all of my reviews start with me saying that i love something, but i really mean it this time. there food is sooo delish. i used to live in a closer suburb and this was my fave. Chinese place, and next to one in LA that i love more, it is my 2nd fave place EVER. The sizzling rice soup is awesome, so is the sizzling trio thing which is like scallops and shrimp and chicken, i think, and the tea is really good, the almond cookies are delish... i think it is just all so yum. granted i haven't been there is quite a while, and not since i've gone vegan, but i imagine i would still love it in reality, as much as i do in memory.

After being a fan for so many years I made the biggest mistake of my dieting career, I got a job here delivering when home from College. Now, it is the place I go back to when I come home to visit my Mother and Grandmother. This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. It is a little heavy on the sauces sometimes but the flavor is spot on. Try the Crab Rangoon and the Beef Chow Fun. If you are around for lunch there is a great lunch buffet (but if there aren't many people eating it, the food will get a little cold sometimes, so make sure there is a crowd). All in all a great experience just about every time - just avoid difficult questions. Some of the servers are still working on their English.

this restaurant is probably the worst i have every experienced. yeah, thats right im calling you boys out. The food was an hour late and when I called, the guy was being a turkey ass. I have to say my family almost passed out from starvation. Definetely no tip being given tonight! Im out, peace And I was not going to tip the driver but he was very sweet so I did.

First time I ordered from here was last night as take out. I ordered 2 kung bao chicken, one regular and one extra spicy. Got home to feed the family and not only was neither dish spicy, the chicken tasted rotten. It's the only word i can use to describe how bad it tasted. It tasted the way it smells when you forget to cook some chicken and it's now gone bad in your fridge. I called the restaurant just now, not looking for anything complimentary but to simply give him a heads up in case anyone calls saying the food made them sick. The guy on the phone could not have cared less and no, there was no apology. Good think I wasn't expecting that either. Look elsewhere, or at least don't order the kung bao chicken.

Despite the bad reviews, I went anyway. I admit t had my trepidations. The building was old and the decor was about 20 years old. The restaurant didn't seem dirty. Food was great and I was extremely happy that they served dim sum all day. Of course the menu was limited but it had just what I needed. It was all fresh and yummy! The staff was friendly and the service was great. They also tried to joke around even with their broken English. I would go back again.

The first issue was that there was no waitstaff in the dining room, and after waiting for a while to order, my father got up and got the manager, who said he would send the waitress, who entered the dining room and completely ignored us to go do something else for a while. Eventually, after he called her 3 times, she came and took our order. Mine wasn't any trouble, but then my dad ordered steamed vegetarian potstickers, which seemed to perplex the waitress and he had to reiterate a few times. He also wanted vegetable fried rice, which she had trouble understanding. He had to repeat that too. The only thing she seemed to understand was "egg rolls." My mom, being unable to eat soy along with a number of other ingredients, asked if she could just have some plain steamed broccoli. This appeared to be too much for the waitress. She kept pointing to menu items and my mom kept saying she couldn't have any sauce and it just escalated to where the waitress was arguing with my mom. When my mom said they could put garlic and salt on the broccoli if they wanted, the waitress clearly had no idea what she was talking about and started to leave. I tried to order my nephew the fried turnover dumplings, and the waitress kept insisting it was the same thing my father had already ordered. We got tired of arguing with her and said, fine, whatever, please bring food. The egg rolls came out fast. They looked mass produced and I did not sample them. The potstickers that came out were fried pork and my parents are observant Jews, hence the vegetarian order. The waitress had disappeared again and when she came back and my father said he hadn't ordered fried pork she started fighting with him again and insisting that he had, which he obviously hadn't, because he hasn't eaten pork since the early days of the Reagan administration. He didn't want to pay for the pork dumplings but my nephew was already consuming them like popcorn. Eventually they brought some vegetarian ones, which were not worth the wait. They were so heavy and greasy, the dough thick and overly chewy, the filling bland. Of course, when my mother's "plain steamed broccoli" got to the table, it was a plate of mixed veggies in a thick sauce. When she tried to discuss this with the waitress, the waitress again insisted it was what she had ordered, despite the fact that everyone else heard her say, "plain steamed broccoli" at least 5 times. The waitress finally asked if she wanted steamed vegetables but my mom just sent the food back and told them to forget about bringing her anything; she ate white rice and the 3 pieces of plain steamed broccoli on my plate. My orange peel chicken was edible, although it was more breading than chicken and there wasn't anything praiseworthy about the meat. The sauce had a nice degree of spice. I seriously hope my folks remember this experience and stop coming here to get yelled at by the waitress. How do places like this stay in business? Why would you argue with someone about what they ordered? Does she think people come to restaurants to pretend they want things they don't eat and then start fights? Because we could have done that at home for free. I know my folks can be annoying in restaurants sometimes, but their dietary restrictions should not warrant an argument. The food was pretty mediocre; I probably would have rated it between 2 and 3 stars if the service had been normal. But it was not. This is a "never go there again" place.

Pork belly with the bun was awesome. They also have a daily buffet for 12 a head but instead you should ask for the authentic Chinese menu. They have a lot of hidden dishes on there that are so good. The lady working there Sulan is great. So sweet... Just ask for Sulan she will help you explore new dishes.

Worst place ever. No customer service whatsoever. The place was dead quiet when I came in, yet nobody came to sit me down. Made me wonder if I was invisible. I stood long enough to get pissed and left. The woman who talking on the phone in chinese the whole time then realized to walk out after me. I did not go back in. I understand she is on the phone but could you at least notice me?? She look at me and plain ignored me. Rude

Poor Customer Service, Just Average Food - Go Somewhere else For several years our family frequented this restaurant for both in room dining and take out orders. We even hosted dinners for our office and luncheons at their facility over the past 10 years. However, recently, the care of the management and the food quality has slipped into territory showing little regard for the customer as the agent of choice in making or breaking the restaurant business. On the last two occassions we have ordered take out they have failed to deliver a properly executed order, forgetting to add sauces to a dish and shorting items on one visit. While the last visit they wrote the wrong food order because the management cares more about juggling multiple tasks than focusing on the care of the person on the phone. Then when it was brought to management's attention by a phone call there was no apology and I was placed not on hold but the phone was left with the receiver open so I could hear the ownership taking other orders and paying no regard to their mistake. Moreover, if anyone had a food allergy in our home, the order they sent would have potentially sent a food allergic individual into an episode. When I returned the wrong order and asked for my money back, the owner took $11.00 and tossed it at me and said here and goodbye! There was no apology or how can we make it better. The care for a customer of 10 years was disregard. I would estimate over 10 years or more we probably invested $10,000 into their business but now we walk and take our business somewhere else. Good luck Szechwan Kingdom. You will need it if you keep running your business this way. There are plenty of anxious chilnese restaurants willing to give better service, better value, and superior food.

Ok.. service may be an issue but it's our 'go to' for good, satisfying takeout and we've never had a problem.

After seeing a picture of a cricket in the reviews I had my reservations, but gladly the food turned out to be really good. An orange peel beef had a blend of spicy with sweetness. The chicken in garlic sauce had a nice array of veggies and cashews. The dinner servings were enough to have lunch the next day, even if I had to figure out how to microwave it in a tiny hotel space. If you are staying in the vicinity stick to the traditional menu items for a solid meal.

The food definitely did not live up to expectations for the price. It was not good in portion size, flavor, temperature, texture, nor ingredient quality.

The food here is horrible. The fried crab wonton was cold. The dim sum tastes bad. The regular food is not that great either for the price. I know the burbs are not known for their Chinese food but as far as this place goes, it's probably the lowest quality of food you can find. I would not recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the taste of food. The staff is friendly so I do feel bad that I have to give them a bad review of their food.

Gotta love this place. The lunch buffet is a smaller selection, but the quality is superior to any other. Today I enjoyed the Broccoli Shrimp. The appetizers are well prepared but how can you pass up a shrimp dish that's 88% shrimp. All the dishes are excellent.

The best Chinese food in the area in my opinion, fantastic customer service, when I walked in there late to pick up my food they were very generous, and helpful about it. Definitely going back here again!

Wow! It's amazing that this place is reasonably popular. That lunch buffet for an outrageous price of $10.75 was awful. Everything from the noodles to the chicken to the shrimp were all worse than those Chinese Buffet Only places. Greasy and gross. I expect a real Chinese restaurant to have at least an average buffet. The food just tasted liked they used the cheapest possible ingredients. The Chinese restaurants that have buffets in the northwest suburbs for only $7 are much better. Skip it.

Went here during lunch buffet. Service was excellent food was good. Ice cream wasn't very good, but didn't really go there for that. Definitely worth a try and next time will get there earlier for the buffet (stops at 230pm).

Visited the second time for lunch on a Sunday. Ten dollar buffet. Not a huge selection, but a good variety. Food is decent, though some items, such as crab rangoon, are not crunchy at all. More steamed than fried. Service is attentive and courteous, though not exceptional. Food was monitored fairly closely, as most items had full trays - though we did eat at the beginning of their lunch service. Overall, a good place for an inexpensive buffet. The wide variety of items makes up for the smaller buffet and average flavors.

Don't order from here- I don't normally do this but I was floored with a response from a delivery. First of all I get my delivery and the driver only gives me the credit card receipt, I assume the itemized receipt is in the bag and I gracefully give him a tip and then I open food bag. My fried rice is missing. And go figure my itemized receipt is not there. So I call. The owner picks up the phone and when asked about the receipt he says oh I'm sorry most people don't want the receipt. Excuse me, I guess I would have been fine with this if I got all my food requested but since I didn't now I assume I paid for it and they wanted to rip me off a few dollars. He proceeds to explain to me that each of my dinners I ordered were $12.95 and came with rice (I only got 1 rice dish). This brought my total to $26 then said there was a $3.50 delivery charge (oh ok I wasn't told about that) and tax got me to my total so I wasn't charged for the rice. This place is very sneaky and over priced. Go somewhere else and get more for your money.

Went here for my lunch break with some coworkers. The buffet isn't particularly large, but there are quite a few options. The food varies in flavor and quality, but I did enjoy the sesame chicken, pepper steak, and generals chicken. It was only $10 for all you can eat. I enjoyed it, but it isn't anything outstanding. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

This is our "Goto" place for "Chinese Night", and we are never disappointed. I would add that we always pickup. It has been a long time since we have eaten there. Looks busy most nights. Like Chicken Two Delights, simple straight forward good and 'black Mushrooms. But everything is good, really!

3 reasons Szechwan Kingdom gets 3 stars: 1) General Tsao Chicken was ok. Not crunchy, not enough veggies, but tasty. 2) Veggie Fried Rice was decent but didn't have much flavor. 3) Moo Shu Beef was AWFUL! It tasted like they mopped the floor and then cooked our meal in the water. GROSS!

Wonderful food and friendly staff. The prices are spot on, though I've found the buffet to be spotty (I'm a vegetarían, My wife who is not always finds the buffet wonderful). However, the dinner menu is full and the quality is both high and consistent. Don't be afraid of the hole in the wall exterior. You would be missing out on a great meal!

This place is yummy! Okay, for Chinese food it is yummy. I am not a big fan of Chinese food in general, as I prefer Thai and sushi anyday, but this place does a great job for a family owned Chinese restaurant. If we want to carry out Chinese, we go here always getting our favorites-hot and sour soup, crab ragoons, mangolian beef and kang bao beef-all consistently deelish. We hardly ever eat in, but one time we had a huge graduation party here for about 25 people in their private room and they were very attentive and provided us with yummy chinese food that was served hott and the wait was just right going from soups, to appetizers to entrees. Overall a great time thanks to their service. I know they also deliver to areas close by like northbrook and deerfield which is also a plus for a fee of like $3 bucks, now you can't beat that! Not 5 stars bc I'm just not a lover of chinese food in general, but would i eat here again once in a while when i have that random chinese food craving, sure, why not!

I don't know how good the food may or may not be. We never received it. We ordered through GrubHub at 6:40pm on a Saturday night and were told the food would arrive by 7:40. At 7:50 we called to find out the status of the food. The person who answered the phone insisted all orders had gone out, so our food would be there any time. At 8:10 we called again, and were told they didn't know where the food or the driver was. I asked if they could call him, and they said they would, and they would call me back in 5 minutes. At 8:20 I called again, and they told me the driver was supposed to have called me, and that he was 10 minutes away. When I asked if we would be receiving a discount, he was very non-committal. Finally, at 8:30, we called and cancelled the order. At 8:40pm, the driver called me to let me know he had arrived. We had already made other plans. TL;DR - We ordered at 6:40pm. We cancelled the order at 8:30pm, when the food still had not arrived. The driver arrived at 8:40pm, two hours after we'd placed the order, and an hour later than we were told it would arrive.

For years, we switch off between here and Szechwan North for north suburbs Chinese food. A couple years back, we celebrated my father-in-law's 60th birthday here. They have a nice party room that will seat three tables of roughly 10 people each. We recently came back here over the weekend to throw a red egg & ginger luncheon for our son, and the service was excellent. They were very helpful and even let us into the restaurant half an hour before they opened up to the public so we could begin setting up the decorations. We had a huge meal (10+ courses) and each part was simply delicious from the appetizer plate with the cold beef, jellyfish, tofu and duck to the seafood egg drop soup to the steamed fish - they have an authentic Chinese menu here where the food is much better than the regular menu. They even made the Taiwanese glass noodles for us, too. Overall, a great experience with both food and service. I'm looking forward to our next family Chinese event here.

This place needs to be shut down. Extremely rude service, dirty environment, and unorganized/unprofessional staff. Left the restaurant within 5 minutes of being seated because the staff had a full out argument in front of all their customers because of a very minor serving mistake.

I was surprise my friend decided to have a 10 course chinese celebration dinner here instead on somewhere in Chinatown. Too my delight everything that came out was really good. The lobster was amazing. They give us rice at the beginning of the courses too. The Tofu stir fry was really good. The whole fish had great favor. To end it I was pretty happy with the beef chow fun and the combination fried rice too. Good comfort chinese food.

Anytime you bring a party of 22 into a restaurant, one would think the restaurant wants to make a good impression and provide great service and quality of food. After all, advertising by word of mouth spreads like wildfire. So my mouth spreads these words: If you want to dine on subpar food, then come here. We ordered a 10+ course meal, and out of all the dishes, the duck was the only one that showed that Szechwan Kingdom can put out a good dish. I usually look forward to the lobster platter, but my hopes were squashed when I found the lobster was pasty (read: unfresh). You can get better quality food for the rest of the dishes - the fish, veggies, beef, seafood - at countless other places. If you want slow service, then come here. The restaurant was half full, and it took a while before our soup and appetizer dishes came out to kick off the meal. And if you want to experience rude actions from the waitstaff, then come here. Case in point: when has it ever been okay for a waiter to scoop the leftovers from a dish onto your plate so he can clear it away? Especially when you're plopping stale lobster scraps onto my plate. I've never encountered that before. P.S. I wonder what take out containers are for. This place left a bad taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally.

OK, we were in the area the other day and I couldnt think of any other Chinese restaurant to go to, so we tried this place again. Execution this time around was MUCH better - the dishes were more flavourful, hot mustard was actually...hot! And the service just as prompt and professional as always. However, still sad about the spice level. Even after requesting my dish to be "extra spicy", the Kung Bao Beef just had a few meager chili pods tossed in. Maybe next time I will just bring my own spice to add to it! Oh and try to come before 6pm if you can. At 6, practically on the dot, the doors opened and children started pouring in like riverwater from a broken levee. What had been a peaceful dining room turned into shrieking "MOM I want that!" and "WAH, he's touching me again Dad!". Yikes.

I ordered directly from their website. I was emailed a receipt that indicated my order was $21.75. When delivered the driver tried to get me to pay $2 extra dollars. I printed my receipt and sent him on his way with the amount my receipt indicated. Shortly after i get a call from the owner trying to convince me that I paid the wrong amount and owed them $2.00. He then tried to explain to me that the company that handles his web-orders messed up the delivery charge. I informed him that was not my problem and he needed to take it up with the company he hired to handle his web-orders. He then said well next time keep in mind the delivery charge is $5.50 not $3.50. Sorry fool but I'm not ordering from you again. Food was not that great, egg-drop soup was thick like egg whites, rice had a funny after taste and small portions. Although their tiny crab rangoon was great!! But due to the terrible, tacky, class-less customer service I will never order from here again. Some business advice...never call your customer to argue about a $2.00 clerical error!! Guess you'll have to take it from the tip I gave your driver.

A friend of mine had a graduation party here for his son. He is Chinese so just inviting immediate family fills up a banquet hall. The food service was the buffet. All in all I thought it was good but typical of Chinese buffets in the area. The hot dishes included your typical choices such as orange chicken, broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, string beans, egg foo young and so on. The place is in the mall immediately north of 94. Google maps has it south of 94 - there's no restaurants there, only forest. Also, there is no sign for the restaurant on Waukegan Road.

My visit to Szechwan Kingdom was hassle free. The food was good but it was nothing that really dazzled me. The decor is pretty hideous, but the service was good and the food your typical Chinese food that you can find at any of 100 places in the Chicago area. I ordered the Generals Chicken that the menu claims is quite spicy, but it pretty bland. Good, but bland. This is about the hardest review that I have done on this site, because it's such a typical Chinese place.

This was really good. I was staying up the street in a hotel for several nights and ordered Szchuan Beef. Just for comparison, ordered same from PF Chang tonight. No comparison. This was the real deal. PF Chang was mediocre in comparison, and more expensive too. Good Chinese.

What? Seriously? I can't imagine anyone giving this place less then 3 stars...at the least!! My family and I have been coming here for a loooooonnnnnnnggggggg time. They were closed several times and reopened...I was saddened in between. Why you may ask? Because in all my years of coming here I have NEVER had a bad thing here!!! Seriously!! Living in the city we have tons of options, however when we are up in this neck of the woods....this place calls to me every time!! I am a true fan. So...what to get here? These items are FANTASTIC! Crab Rangoon, Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Trio (Mongolian anything really), Moo-Shoo anything... Their tea is great and I love, love, love their almond cookies... Again, I think many of their dishes are really tasty, but I tend to stick with the above items. Their lunch buffet is a killer deal and is offered on Sundays as well. For about $10 you get to try a number of their great dishes, which will certainly entice you to come back and try their other menu items. They already had a ton of options, but with the new addition of a Dim Sum section, it took them over to the "i need more time to decide" group. Plus, their portions are large so we always go home with leftovers...mmmmmm...leftovers make me happy. This place is family owned and everyone is always super nice and accommodating, whether you are a party of 2 or 20. AND...you can't beat the orange slices, fortune cookies and yes...the always delicious and never disappointing almond cookies you get for free at the end of your meal!

We love this restaurant. The menu selection is varied without being overwhelming, and we find the service to be attentive - we are generally remembered and warmly greeted each time we go. The lunch buffet has a great variety and is kept fresh. As a quick FYI - they make their own Peking Duck - most suburban restaurants send down to Chinatown for theirs!

My family and I have been regulars there for years. It' amazing. The owners are very nice people and so is every staff member. On the holidays it gets very crowded but most nights there should be no trouble getting in. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very comfortable. I usually get some type of chicken. The Kung Pao Chicken is fantastic. They give you a huge plate of chicken and fills you up quickly! I've tried several chicken/shrimp dishes and they were all great! I really recommend this restaurant. It won't disappoint.

My husband brought home carryout last night. Huge mistake. Absolute worst carryout experience ever. The only good thing is they gave us jasmine tea bags with the order. My daughter's beef egg foo yung was good but the gravy was inedible. It was the saltiest I have ever eaten anywhere and someone had a heavy hand with the 5 spice powder, just awful. My husband ordered sesame chicken (I had specified something like chicken with vegetables but an order deciphered through a penis turns into deep fried dried out chicken chunks.) Nasty nasty. Never again.

One of my all-time favorite places to eat! They have an expansive menu of authentic Sichuan Province dishes, and many other Chinese and fusion favorites. Their vegetables (my favorite part of every dish) area always very fresh, and masterfully prepared. Their meat and seafood also taste very fresh, and cooked to perfection. While Szechuan cuisine is know for bold and spicy dishes, none of their dishes are over seasoned or too spicy / salty, allowing you to fully appreciate every ingredient. Food is prepared quickly, they have a nice selection of drinks. If we get there early enough, we also enjoy all of their dim sum. All of their entrées are priced very well, and their special buffets are a fantastic deal. I've been going to Szechwan Kingdom for many years, and their staff has always been very friendly and attentive. They have a huge dining room, and there's lots of parking. I always look forward to eating at, or carrying out from, Szechwan Kingdom! LOCATION NOTE: Many online maps list Brookside Plaza (the shopping center Szechwan Kingdom is located in) further South than it really is. The entrance is just NORTH of the 94 overpass - just look for the big Brookside Plaza sign, and you're there. There are a several other restaurants, and stores, and the lot can get crowded during the day, but there's plenty of spots if you park at the Southeast end of the lot.

This was the restaurant that got me into buffets. They only serve lunch buffets, so the quality is better than most regular Chinese buffets. Feeling nostalgic, I recently went back and ate their buffets after years of absence and it did not disappoint. As I said before, you can tell that the quality of the food was superior to many buffets, along with the fact that it has cloth napkins and actually feels like a restaurant. The diamond in the rough are the steamed potstickers that are tucked into a corner that most people don't realize. They remind me of dim sum and is the best item on the menu. Just remember that the buffet is only at lunch, otherwise you will have to order from the menu. This place was the first to introduce me to buffets and has a special place in my heart.

The Sesame chicken is delicious! Chunks of white meat covered in a sweet tangy sauce go great with white rice! The Mongolian Beef is pretty great too, it's sweet and tender. Egg rolls could use some improvement. Overall this is a great place for the money. (And deliver pretty fast!)

I've ordered from Szechwan Kingdom a few times as they are close and quick for pickups. The easiest way to sum up their food is below average. I thought their General Tsao (Governors) was bland and the chicken quality was poor. Others who I've eaten with have noted how small the shrimp is compared to other places. It's not bad, it's just nothing special. The portions are large though and they fix you up with all the extras for free (tea, fortune cookies, sugar cookies, soy sauce). They've also usually been fast with orders and the wait isn't too bad inside. Decent enough if you are looking for a quick Chinese fix, but I believe there are just much better options available in the area.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
