We just tried it because we always noticed how crowded it is and thought it must be good. Incorrect. It was very gross. None of the food was warm or good ans the floors were so dirty. The whole experience grossed me out and I'm never going back.

I honestly don't know if it was us arriving one hour prior to closing, but the food was ICE cold, the floors were filthy, bathrooms were atrocious w/excrement all over the last seat in far stall, children running wild, the displays of food were clustered (trays over lapping onto one another) food particles littered the food wells, filthy utensils, loud obnoxious parties w/their equally obnoxious children..the sushi looked and tasted like it was hand rolled last year...the fish they had laid out for (human?) consumption I wouldn't serve to my dog...mega disappointment, do yourself a favor...save yourself the 30.00$ (the price I blindly paid for for myself & my partner) & go to Longhorn across the parking lot..at least there you know WHAT your eating! This place has most certainly gone downhill compared to our last visit a year half ago. Sad, PLEASE get it together people I HATE giving negative reviews but this was BAD start to finish....B.A.D. No bueno

This place is horrible. Worst resteraurant I have ever eaten at. If I could give them no stars, I would have. People using there hands to get food. People not washing there hands after using the bathroom and yes im talking about the waitstaff and customers. Not to mention the staff sweeping the floors right next to me while im eating. Staff putting food off of people's plates back in the buffet. Alot of foreign people . With very little English. Not many Americans at all . Just a cheap crappy buffet in a strip mall. Save yourself the $14.00. A headache or even worse a disease. Unless your a cheap person from another country who doesn't mind eating disgusting food at a dive hole in the wall.

Nastiest place, cups arent washed good and spoons and forks arent cleaned either. Besides the fact that it smells really bad as soon as you walk in. As soon as i got in i lost my appetite.

I went here yesterday and it was one of the worst buffets I have been to. The dishes are unclean, there was hair in the food (which is somewhat expected from a buffet), and I saw a large rat. The host saw that I observed the rat but did not do anything. This place is not only filthy but the layout of the food is disorganized and jumbled. Consume at your own risk.

A inexpensive ($13. 26 plus tax includes beverage and desserts) Chinese Buffet with a large variety for everyone to choose from. Children 10 and under half price. Over 10 year old is full price. Same price on Fridays and Saturdays 5-9 p.m.when they offer Crab Legs. Only thing they serve you 3 clusters at a time to make it fair for all to enjoy. Great idea! The clusters were small but very tasty not too salty or bland. Delicious with a dash of warm butter as well. Yum! One of the largest selection of seafood I've found for a Chinese buffet (at this price point) in the Chicagoland area (salt and pepper shrimp, coconut shrimp, cocktail shrimp, baked salmon, sushi, crawfish, mixed seafood in white sauce, and several varieties of fry fish-not sure which kind). Other foods options includes- pork fry rice, vegetable fry rice, white rice, variety of Chinese soups, sweet n sour chicken, orange chicken, fry chicken, chicken and vegetables, beef n vegetables, pork chops, mixed vegetable, salad bar, pizza, french fries, hamburger, sweet potato, fried plantains and lots more. They also feature a create your own stir fry section. Just pick your ingredients, tell them your preferred sauce, and they will cook it for you. Lots of seating but it seems very busy on Saturday evenings. We had to wait a few minutes for a table. The staff stays busy clearing tables and replenishing the food. Clean but very basic decor and bathrooms. However, I didn't have high expectations considering the price. We had a enjoyable meal and will return to try other items. It was too much items to try in one visit.

A surprisingly good deal on the weekend. For $13.50 on Saturdays, they have snow crab legs and that includes a beverage. A great deal! There's a guy who stands there and limits your crab to 3-4 clusters. That's actually great because it means you're not standing around waiting for more because someone snatched it all up. The hibachi grill is also a nice addition. I always appreciate a buffet with a hibachi.

It's convenient. It's well-priced. And we keep coming back for more. Out of all the asian buffets in the area, this is a pretty good go-to. For $12-$13/person, you'll definitely get full. This is even the price for crab legs nights on friday and saturday evenings.... the meat isn't that juicy, but the flavoring isn't bad. not too salty, but not as sweet as i'd like either. I like that they have chop chae noodles as an alternative to plain boring rice and fried rice. They have americanized foods (ick! why would you get pizza or mac n cheese from a chinese joint... but whatever. probably to appease spoiled kids) But seafood galore! They have the best clam soup from a buffet that i've had. They offer both chinese and sushi.. oh. and hibachi and some dim sum. oh. and hot dogs. hahaha i digress. the food is actually pretty decent, and they are sooo plentiful in the number of dishes they serve. just don't be surprised that everything good is threatening to clog your arteries. this is not for the healthy of heart. in recent times, however, my parents have notoriously been getting sick from the fish. don't know which, but it's been multiple times. so buyer beware!

  • Francis F.

I like this buffet place because that have quite a selection of American/Chinese food and seafood, included is a sushi buffet, hibachi grill option and lots of deserts. Food tastes fresh the multiple times ive been here for a quick bite! And there's just so many seating options!

  • Dwyer W.

The grill guy intimated to me that management takes for themselves the tips in the square plastic jar that customers put in there intended for the grill guy. That did it for me. Other than that, proles pack the place full at all times. This place WAS the cat's meow before its prices went sky high! Now it's a rip off and a fool's paradise no matter what you find there. Watch and see how everyone figures out that only about four dishes out of the endless choices are everyone's favorites. The grill part is deceiving. That's because the square slices of beef there are tougher than shoe leather after cooking. Only the sea food and the veggies cook up good. You find that out from experience if you have really gone there and used the grill services. So then in effect, it is strictly a seafood grill, that is, if you want to count what's edible from it.

It is what it is. I haven't found a chinese buffet yet that would get above two strars, but I have to say I was expecting more from this place. Went on a Friday, sort of late (9pm) but there were quite a few people there so I would have expected they would put out fresh food. Other than sushi they didn't put out any fresh food and much of it had obviously been sitting there awhile. The sushi wasn't bad but I didn't test anything raw. Can't believe I fell for the "house special" egg role. The inside literally looked like they put the scraps from the floor in a food processor and used it to fill the egg role, quite possible I suppose! None of these places are clean and this one is no different. It is what it is.

Super China, Super China, Super China Buffet!! I really like this restaurant. It's convenient, well priced, and has a lot of food options. This is a really good Asian buffet and I love it :) It's also beside the mall, so whenever you are shopping and felt hungry you can just stop and go to china buffet and eat whatever you like. It's a really great restaurant to go to, they have a good variety of food, and it's cheap. Thank you.

  • Antonio A.

The place is nice. Big and we'll set. I would have given it 4 stars maybe but there is no fried shrimp. Every other place regardless of the time serves fried shirt so I had to eat noodles only. -_- sorry guys

    (2)
  • Ty R.

The variety on the buffet is amazing. They have everything you could possibly want. However, the flavors and quality are sub par. The fruit was fresh and sweet. For the price you do get your money's worth if you can get pass the first plate.

Remember not to go on a Monday you will get all the left overs from the weekend and nothing is fresh.

Every time I come here the food makes me sick. It is always crowded and the space is small and the buffet is always full of people reaching over the food. That is pretty gross because you don't know if these people are sick or have clean hands. I will no longer go to buffets. The pizza is nasty. I took a slice for my daughter and the cheese was like gum. It would not separate! They don't have a big selection of food. It's mainly seafood. If you don't like seafood like me you will not have much to eat from. If you like sushi and seafood and crowded buffets then you will like it here.

    (1)
  • Tanya M.

I have been here a few times, and I am surprised that it does not have better reviews. I love that there is a lot of variety, specifically the sushi station and hibachi grill. I never had any bad experience with staff, or food being sub par. The only thing that I didn't really like was that the water tasted kind of dirty, but for some reason I find that common at many buffet style places. It does get pretty busy so at times you cant have a decent conversation but when your busy smashing some Super China Buffet there's not much room for talking ;)

    (4)
  • Andrea S.

What good is good variety when the place is dirty? I did not enjoy watching the staff walk around the isles of food "inspecting" if their version of inspecting is picking up bits of food that came out from the pan (or someones plate!) off the counter and putting it back into the food for people to eat. They did this countless times and my stomach started to turn, with deep regret of spending any money here to eat. Granted I know not everything is perfect with every establishment but I do believe that it's common sense not to pick up stuff that fell and put it back in the pan to contaminate the rest of the food. I guess that's what I get for going to a buffet, seems inevitable. -Kids touching EVERYTHING, like the fruits, grabbing jello with both of their hands like they picked up candy from a Pinyata. Let me regurgitate for a moment... Common sense unfortunately folks is not all that common. -Go somewhere else.

I've been to a lot of china buffets, this one one of my favorites!! Love the variety!!

    (5)
  • Ashley C.

Crabs are served on Saturday: 5pm-9pm!!! && the hibachi grill is always a plus when one isn't too huge on the typical Chinese staples and sushi is pretty good for a buffet. But the crabs are worth the trip. Servings while limited are delicious since the moment they're ready to serves, in seconds it's gone!

    (4)
  • Jay S.

This place is disgusting. Would not go if I got dinner for FREE! I found a long hair in my noodles, there are kids running around putting their fingers in the buffet food, the glass above the buffet is filthy, the serving spoons are always gross and sticky because people touch them without washing their hands. I only went because it was a friend's birthday and I was extremely grossed out. I picked at my food and didn't enjoy a single dish after I found the hair. Before that though, the food was really unremarkable. Not fresh and poor quality. Go elsewhere!!!

  • Natalia G.

I grew up coming to this place, I used to look forward to it every Saturday. I would even go out with my friend's family whenever they happened to go. But over the years I noticed that the food became more and more tasteless. Trying the food, you can tell that not a lot of effort is put into it. Yes, they are well known for their wide selection of food (which is pretty impressive) but so what if they are made so lousy. Honestly, I prefer going to a much smaller location with less variety but made right vs. a lot of choices and just made to fill up the plates. Surprisingly they are extremely busy, which makes sense to bring the family and eat endless supply of food to fill up. But when it comes to taste it's not worth it. It's a shame because I used to enjoy going there.

  • Allison R.

This place is disgusting! I can't believe it hasn't been shut down for health code violations. After witnessing a worker wipe down the buffet counter and slide all the food back into the pans, I couldn't even make my first plate. All the silverware and glasses looked like that were just rinsed and not washed. I should've have never stepped into this place just by looking at their filthy windows.

    (1)
  • O. M.

Decided to try this place for the first time, bad idea! At the register they charged me $5 for a 4yr old, $2 for a barely 1yr old and almost $10 each adult. I could not believe they charged me for an infant. After sitting down, you see the rugs are filthy dirty, the food selection is minimal and just OK when it comes to taste. The absolute deal breaker was the ghetto @$$ people sitting behind us. Kids running all over, screaming like it chuck e cheese or something and the staff doesn't even say anything. Talking about staff, the mute cashier only says a price, no one ever came to clean our used plates(which weren't many) and when she did pass she got an attitude when asked a simple question... This place doesn't even deserve 1 star!!!! All around disgusting!

  • Farida Y.

I've been here several times, every time I come here the food and customer service get worse and worse ....(((( the waitress was shouting to my bf because he put dirty place by ice cream table because when she passed us she didn't see the dirty plates... We tried to get her attention, and she was yellowing !!!!! About the food - it doesn't taste good, anything you eat has the same taste , and prices are high, we were thee last night Sunday so on weekends you pay 13$, for two of us it was 28$ and honestly the food is not good at will, doesn't worth the high prices . I will never come here again.

  • Anthony W.

It's ok not as horrible as th other reviews. I will the one thing you do want in a buffet is it to be busy then that way you know the food is always fresh. And this place is always busy. I don't particularly like the seating because it is more lunch room style as oppose to having piracy. But it's ok.

A friend of mine likes to go here... so I keep quiet and go with the flow. After taking it all in.... I am impressed with the overflowing quantities on the several buffet stations... a very extensive fish and seafood assortment... that is really nice! Plus your favorite standards of orange chicken, chop suey, fried rice, egg rolls.... etc... No going hungry here! Some of the items seem to be put there to just too fill in the blanks, I guess!? ... For what other reason would basic canned corn or macaroni and cheese be doing at a Chinese buffet? Sushi is good but, I of course had much better... but this a buffet.... Not some 5 star restaurant we're talking about. Desserts were blah, American jello or little petit fours seen at most Polish buffets in the area...Remember, Chinese is one of the cuisines that doesn't shine very well in the pastry and desert dept.... Sweets are not their cup of tea, I guess. ..... But reading some of these reviews about how people got sick... PLEASE... I saw you folks come in here like it was your last supper during the Great Depression, shoveling food into your mouths, mixing everything imaginable at record speed.... ....And you're all wondering why you got sick? HELLO, pigs at the pig trough! Eat less, slow down, enjoy your meal.... there is plenty of food here....! Nobody will deny your rightful share! I think the food choices need to be better labeled and kept warmer... I agree with some other reviews... .... The place needs improvement but all is not lost for what it is.... a standard Chinese buffet.

Place sucks! Worst ever dining experience. I was afraid to eat their food! I paid the ten bucks to get in and walked right out! I would not even eat there for free!

    (1)
  • Kelly L.

For the price and all the varieties, I think it deserves 4 stars. The food was good and I like the rolls. Also, surprised me with free drinks as most Chinese buffets charge you drinks. Will definitely come back!

I want to give some helpful advice to the management of Super China Buffet. Please train your staff, particularly the guys at the stir fry hibachi grill, to be more polite and pleasant. They are so rude... until you show them that you're actually leaving a tip at the tip jar.

Came on a Sunday afternoon on the last Sunday before Christmas. It was packed with a line at the door almost the whole time I was there. Probably difficult to do when so busy, but there was food on the floor. Server did clean it up when I said something. Wide range of food. Ate typical Chinese food and it was all good, along with mac and cheese that was pretty tasteless. Sushi was included. Again large selection. Dessert area also had lots of options. Overall good experience but I (and others) were startled a few times when one worker yelled back to cooks when food need replacing on the buffet. Surely there is a better way to do this than screaming thriugh a small window to the back.

Worst place ever!!!! Food sucked No labels on the food And saw customers eating out of the buffet trays!!! Yuck will NEVER come back!!!!

  • AJ M.

Can here couple days ago and was surprised to how much stuff they have! They got all the Chinese staples including burgers pizza sushi Mac n cheese! It's more like a old country buffet with its variety which I have no problem with. For around $12 you can have it all. I was only able to eat 2 plates "MSG"might have something to do with that but it still worth the $12. One negative is that they do not always label dishes which is a pet peeve of mines. And with Asian food you might have no idea what your eating. If your by the HIP and crazing Chinese come here! Gotta try the Japanese spot next door.

This place scared me. Really. I've had a lot of really good Chinese food. This was NOT good. There were two types of fried rice that didn't even taste like fried rice. They had a few beef dishes and a few chicken dishes that were strange - instead of beef with broccoli, it was chicken with broccoli. Instead of Mongolian beef it was Mongolian chicken. The crab rangoons were very yellow but I thought, hey who cares, as long as it tastes good....they were below average but that was due to the fact that they were ice cold. They had a lot of dishes that were strange to me and some that were alien to me; shrimp (with legs/uncleaned), some sort of cockroach looking seafood, clams, fried tilapia (complete with tails/scales)..... I'm not a sushi person but I did notice they had a ton of it. They also had an area where you could pick your own meats/veggies to stir fry but it did not look appealing to me so I stayed away. The dessert section looked promising but i was wrong; a few pastries, a large variety of fruits, puddings and jellos. All of the fruit was too hard/not yet ripe and the pastries didn't look so good. I was very dissappointed :( Go to Canton Tea Garden in Park Ridge instead.

For a buffet they had way more than I even imagined. It was an experience at least for a Buffet. I was really pleasantly surprised that the selection was so vast. I mean, where do you find stuffed lobster heads and tons of various sushi in a buffet? I also thought that the $17 I paid for myself and my mom was just perfect in a Sunday Afternoon. I was told by one of the owners that the place was expanded because the owner thought he could do more, and what a thing he did. If you want to enjoy a day at Harlem and Irving Mall, this place is across the street and well worth the trip. Go early though because it was almost 2 PM and it started to get busy. The selections here are vast, so come hungry.

There are abundant of Chinese buffets in the Chicago suburbs. This particular buffet offers tons of food. The problem of finding good buffet place is that the food in buffet restaurant starts to taste the same after the first plate. They become saltier as the previous bite. That problem persists in this restaurant as well. My first taste was the eggdrop soup to warm my appetite on cold Chicago weather. To my surprise, I realize I found their secret ingredient, wax paper. Yes, a piece of wax paper was in the batch of eggdrop soup. I alerted the staff and she simply said "sorry about that," and continued her collection of dishes. Samplings of sushi is also offered. My suggestion is just pick any because they all taste the same. No matter what's in it, same taste unfortunately. The only dish i went for a second trip was the rotisserie chicken. I ended my trip there with some watermelon and cantaloupe which were alright. Needless to say, at the end my stomach wished to return all I had given it. The only reason I go here it's because, like any standard Chinese buffet whether Super or not, it's cheap.

This place gave me an upset stomach and the next day my boyfriend woke up with weird red bumps/marks all over his body. My bf was the one who insisted on coming here and at first it didn't seem like a bad idea, we were both really hungry so we stuffed our stomachs until we couldn't walk and felt guilty afterwards (ha haa!) We definitely got our moneys worth but the end result wasn't worth it. I've never really liked going to buffets to be honest.

I'm not a fan of Chinese buffets but this I will say was pretty decent. They have a pretty large seafood selection, including clams, mussels, baked fish. On Fridays and Saturdays, they serve AYCE crab legs. And they have a plethora of asian cuisine, not just Chinese. They have some freshly made Japanese sushi rolls, some Korean noodles, some American cuisine and even some Chinese dim sum! What I like most about this place though is the custom stir fry in the back, as well as the fresh off the grill seafood and meats. I can stick to the back and leave the greasy Chinese dishes to everyone else. Stick to those items and your review will be a 4 star as well. Add the front of the house, and sorry, I can't help you there if your review is 3 or under. I also must add that I went here for lunch. If the food sits out here all day, then that must account for why the food tasted better for me earlier in the day

Yeap I am Chinese and I like this place. Compared to most buffet in our area, this place has lots of options, especially salt water fish. If you don't like them cooked with tails and heads still attached, maybe you won't like them. But I like them. The other two items that you don't see often are clam soup and pig feet. They also have dimsums. I don't go there for crab legs though. I agree it's really disgusting to see someone sit there and eat crab legs all night long.

This Buffet goes on the bottom of the totem pole. When we first walked in, it was hotter than Satan's bedroom. I thought that maybe it just might be hotness from the food and when we sit down it will be better. It wasn't any better, in fact, it was worse. It felt humid and sticky. The vegetable dishes were the only thing I truly liked and they were mediocre at best. The dishes that Incorporated meat was salty and over cooked. I was glad they had pot stickers and shumai, so they get one star for that. They don't get anymore stars though because the soft serve ice cream thing was being cleaned (at 730 pm). Maybe they should clean it when they close, wouldn't that be...dare I say...SMART. This place totally needs a new decor and it reminded us of a flashback from the seventies. The place most indefinitely needs new booths because I just don't like getting stabbed by a loose spring in the caboose. No bueno Super China Buffet, No bueno. I am disappointed but I MIGHT give you another chance to act right. I hope the owners actually read this. I beg of you, remodel, revamp menu, then I will RE-do this review.

This was probably one of THE worst buffet places I have been to in a very long time. We arrive early in the day, thinking we would get a chance at the freshest selections. WRONG! A majority of the food was cold. Wontons were very cold! Fish was not cooked properly. We will make it a point to NOT go back. Hmmm....I am sure there was a Panda Express that would have been more satisfying!

Wow! What was I thinking. I wasn't! I always loose any sense of good judgement at the end of the day. It was 9pm on a Saturday after an all day shopping excursion. We were hungry. We were tired. So when I saw the sign that said sushi, I thought, yes, sushi. My sister, bless her heart, she suggested we go to the other sushi place, the place we went to earlier in the week. I thought to myself, I can't bear to drive all the way over there when we're over here... OK, let's go in and God help us. All I can say is wow! They had about 20 or more people working there but they were all either talking in corners, eating or reading the paper. No one came over to great us except the guy who took our 10.99 per person. My sister and I walked over to the sushi area. No one even looked at us. We just grabbed a couple of pieces of I don't know what and although I saw a tip jar, I didn't see anyone eager to make anything fresh for us. There was a section for stir fry but there were a few people in line and we just went back to the other side with all the ready made food. There was a huge selection. I don't know what anything tasted like except for the fried calamari which was from some huge squid or octopus or something. Each piece was either sliced into the circumference of my hand or as long as my hand. Just not that great. It was too tough and too salty, etc. My sister had a huge plate of mashed potatoes and a spring roll. I had one too and it wasn't very good. My mom had some type of fish and she was complaining that they didn't even take any of the scales or fins off. It was tasty but very messy. And then, they had whole boiled crabs but no crackers so we had a horrible time trying to open it up. I didn't eat from it, it was yellow and orange inside. Too creepy for me. What do I know from whole crabs. My mom ate from it though. It's 9am. 12 hrs later. I hope she's alive. By the way, I don't have the shits yet so that's positive about the sushi, right? Oh yeah, they have bubble drinks too but you have to pay for them separately ($4!) but you have to decide while you're walking in and paying for the buffet since no one will ever walk by to see if you're OK, even though the plates are 4 high stacked at the edge of the table. Whatever, it's my own fault. We should of just went down the road to Ihop or to the one right there in the parking lot. Not a favorite of mine but at least I know what to expect there. Wow. I can't believe we ate there.

Oh. my. God. I am not one to complain about things but this place is disgusting. I don't know what possessed me to go into this place yesterday but I totally did. My boyfriend ate here with me and miraculously, he was totally fine. However I am still recovering nearly 24 hours later. I shudder to think what would happen if we had actually eaten the sushi. I have eaten LOTS of sushi in my life, but I have never seen shiny, iridescent sushi in my entire life. Quite certain something was wrong with it. While I didn't see anything questionable happening here (others say they have seen food safety violations) there must have been SOMETHING going on because I'm super-sick now. Never. again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great place, the low rating is not deserved. if i were to move away, first place i'd come to eat would be this place. very busy, too busy on the weekends. I like the chow mein noodles, the tilapia in ginger and scallion, the clams with some sirachi, and the crab legs are plentiful on the weekends. I do not eat buffet sushi. As i'm writing this, i'm considering stopping by for lunch. Eventhough, it's a cardinal rule not to eat yesterday's leftovers.

This buffet is good, the food is great. But the only thing is this buffet is kind of pricey. But is totally worth it. They have tons of foods to select. Its a big place ! Great for people to eat, if you have the munchies..

So we went to Super China Buffet on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The girl greeted me with "Happy Holidays" I thought she was being premature - then she said "$24.26" I said - this is an $8.00 buffet - how did the price go up by 50 %. She said it was holiday pricing. On Veteran's Day? Really? That constitutes an $8.00 buffet becoming a $12.00 buffet? I told her to cancel my order and give me my card back. "What kind of deal is that? You raise the price for Veteran's Day"? She said "This is my boss's Holiday Special." If they were donating the extra four bucks to a vet's home I would gladly spend it - but their holiday is special is special for them not for their customers. They just lost two.

I would give this place a zero if I could. The food was barely edible and I wouldn't be surprised if I got a major stomach upset from it. Sushi served warm by a guy talking on his cell phone and making sushi...gross. Bring hand sanitizer too, its dirty in there too.

My go to Chinese buffet on chicago's northwest side. Big plus is the Mongolian grill they put in after the renovation. There is a few seafood choices for the mongolian grill which is pretty rare for buffets. The place is usually crowded so you know the food is always fresh. I love their hot and sour soup and coconut shrimp. The only reason I am not giving five stars is becouse there could be more traditional Chinese dishes(as in kung pao chicken or something). Oh did I mention rib tips and sushi.

This buffet...yuck! It felt dirty inside, food was not enjoyable at all. The only thing that makes me give it one star is that the diet coke was drinkable. Overall, prices okay, yucky food. Will not go back for more yucky food.

came here yesterday with a friend because we was hungry and didn't want to spend much money.. i used to like this place until yesterday.. most of the food we got was cold! some of the food was either over cooked or under cooked.... it was just bad! maybe because it was a weekday but even that, it is unacceptable... i will no longer come back here... and the service is bad too... the ladies that suppose to walk around to grab people's empty plate just sat at a table talking to each other .. walked around maybe after every 15 mins when every ones plate piles up..

I have been to so many bad Chinese buffets I cannot count but this one takes the cake as the absolute worst. There were so many food safety violations. Food was everywhere where it should not be, barely luke-warm, scattered outside the trays on counters a half eaten rib was sitting on the window sill in the entrance. Tables were sticky , floors extremely dirty. The food was so bad I took maybe two bites and watched as my poor husband tried to gulp his food down because he couldn't stand to see his hard earned dollars go to waist.

All the people complaining is a little ridiculous. You're paying 8 bucks for lunch at a chinese buffet. What were you expecting? Dinner at Japonais or Dim sum at Shanghai Terrace in the Penninsula? Get over it people! The quality and selection of food you get here far surpasses what you're paying for. And as far as chinese buffets go, this place is near the top if not the best in the area.

It's a pretty standard Chinese Buffet for the area. You have the staple Chinese dishes, plus the staple American dishes. The food is... passable, I suppose. The sweet and sour chicken and General Tso chicken were good, though the Tso was not spicy at all. The lo mein and fried rice was good, too. I tried a bit of their sushi. It was... Well, I probably wouldn't go there special for that. The soup was good, though. The price is kind of high, though. All in all, it's a pretty standard Chinese Buffet. You aren't missing much by not stopping by.

Overall, definitely worth going at least once. They had a HUGE variety on food: chinese, sushi, stir-fry, 'American', and dessert. The sushi fresh wasn't that fresh but nonetheless the rolls were good. You can get your own veggies and meat to stir-fry and ur choice of sauce. Fruits were really fresh. The bathroom however was pretty nasty. Also, while I was there a fight broke up between the workers working there so there was a huge, kind of scary, scene. Definitely a great place if you love buffets though.

All the bad reviews are NOT exaggerated. The food is cold, greasy, and all-out terrible. The general tso was ok, but still didn't really taste like general tso should. ALL I wanted was crab rangoon, and when I finally found where they were hiding it - it was soggy and gross. I can see why so many people had salads, jello, pizza, and generally American food. Even the coffee wasn't good! I'm honestly surprised none of the reviews mention food poisoning. My bf and I almost told some of the people waiting in line to get in there just to get out while they still could. $12 and barely a plate of food. All-you-can-eat quickly becomes all-you-can-stomach-because-you-paid-so-much.

I've been coming here every once in a while since they opened. They have their ups and down days. The best is the weekends because it gets crowded and more food gets made freshly. On week days their food is not as good and i'm guessing it is PROBABLY left overs. But I actually like it here (On weekends)...their sushi is a variety and good.. :)

I'm not one for buffets, but this was pretty good. I went here to try something different from the usual. We went right when opening, so the food was fresh. I ordered a smoothie, and the fruit did not taste very fresh for a place that just opened for the day. Also, it was only Tuesday, So I am not sure how long they hold their fruit for? Since my smoothie wasn't what I expected, I did not have desert. Price was good for a lunch buffet. Will I be back? No, just because I am not a fan of buffets.

Compared to some other chinese buffets that I have been to, I thought the taste of all the dishes were sub par. But I give it 3 stars because 40+ dishes including crab legs for $10 is good value. I kid you not, there was this African American lady sitting by herself and she must have had at least 40 crab legs. We had to shift our seats a little because every time she cracked a leg, there was crab juice christening our food and foreheads. She made the most of her $10! There was one noteworthy dish, the laughable sushi. They used a molding box to mold the nigiri. So the nigiri was a huge block of rice topped with paper thin salmon. I don't really want to berate China Buffet for that, but I thought it was hillarious.

I came. I ate. I got sick. I do not expect every dining experience to change my life, but this one did-and most definitely not for the better. My stomach protested for three days after eating here. That was several years ago when it first opened. I cannot imagine how many layers of bio hazard exist there now. Do yourself a favor and go to Shooters,if you have your heart set on a buffet. At least your odds are better there. Not by much, but a bit.

This place improved greatly with the addition of the sushi place & stir fry corner. There's much more seating too. Food is always warm and plentiful. There are a lot of choices for even the pickiest eaters.

Thank you!!! This place always save me when it comes to catering. Always on time and open. Price is reasonable too. The person taking the order walk us around the buffet to make sure that what we order is what we want. Having a Medium pan can feed between 50-70. You will only need the Large pan if you are feeding over 100 people...I learned my lesson with my daughter's baptism. This time the Medium pan was enough.

Went there late one night, and the place has a huge selection, fish 10 different ways, bunch of shrimps, and lots of other good stuff. For a cheap buffet I thought it was pretty darn good, yes workers were hanging out, but it was late, and we got great service. If you are picky don't go there, if you want something decent for a low prices then its pretty darn ok.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS CHINESE BUFFET. I would have given this place no stars of possible. Not a fan of Chinese buffets but the kids wanted to try it so what the heck how bad can it be? Well, without question the worst restaurant of any kind I have ever been to in all my life. They had customers on Wednesday night and the only thing I can think of is that they had never been there before. They offer a wide range of food that your should not eat, really you should not eat it. Other reviewers had it right when they said that everything was strange. Nothing tasted like normal Chinese food or any other kind of food for that matter. The cold side refrigeration must have not been working on the salad side that night because the prepared salads pans were bobbing up and down in water and nothing was fresh. After we left we all vowed to never return here again. One good thing I would say about this location is that the women clearing the tables in our section was extremely polite and pleasant.

Better than what others say. My wife's coworkers at work invited to this place and off course their treat. I was hesitant at first because it was about 40 minutes drive from where i live and after reading the bad reviews i really didn't want to go. But finally had to go and was surprised to see that the place and food was not bad as other reviews say. For a buffet restaurant, its a decent place to eat and food are great!. I guess some expect to see a fancy restaurant.

This Chinese buffet restaurant is tucked in a strip mall in Norridge. The buffet is not bad, but not great either. There is a decent variety of food here, but nothing that will make you forget about your grandmother's cooking (especially if she is Chinese). The plastic cups are small here, so you have to get up for lots of refills if you are a thirsty boy.

  • Andrious W.

Not the best buffet I've ever been to but i do like the food and the price is right. So its not the highest quality food or even really authentic chinese food. For roughly 10 bucks for all I can eat I really don't complain.

I have read several of the negative reviews on this restaurant. I have to say I am surprised at their reaction. I've been here several times, and the food is decent. It is in the $8-12 range depending on when you go, and they are so popular that they expanded a few months back and added a stir-fry station. They have a bigger selection than any buffet in the area. They are not a "sushi" restaurant. Yes, they have something that they refer to as sushi, but I can't believe some of the other reviewers expected all-you-can-eat sushi for under $12 to be any good. Like any buffet of this caliber, the sushi is mostly rice and no expensive sashimi. Some of the meats are a bit overcooked. That's why you take small tastes of everything and stick with what's good. I can understand the guy who was upset for being charged more on Veteran's Day, but when I read these bad reviews, I really would like to know what their expectations were and what they are comparing it to. If you want a better buffet, spend the $50/person and hit up Brazzaz, or even $26/person for Todai. I challenge anyone to name a better buffet within 10 miles and within this price range (don't dare mention Shooter's).

  • B. L.

The food itself is OK. Some of their items were cold. They must have a problem keeping the food hot. I know it's a challenge at buffets. That being said, that does not stop them from have a crowded place almost every time I have gone by. The times I chose to go in were off times so it wasn't so bad. The food items that were hot are Ok just not that memorable. I do especially like their jasmine tea and their cold items like the salads and deserts.

OMG!! let me recommend the mac n' cheese, french fries, and pizza. Fish head on the side for dippin'. This place is super as evidenced by the name of it. Coming in on the crab leg days is like watching the discovery channel. You get to see all sorts of whales dining on their prey (the crabs), and the sound of dozens of shells cracking makes this the best dining experience i've ever had. So good that I couldn't sleep for weeks after and developed mild post-traumatic stress. Also, best soft serve machine in town, I guarantee it.

If you looked up Super China Buffet, the words abhorrent, abominable, creepy, cruddy, disagreeable, disgusting, distasteful, foul, funky, grody, gross, hateful, hideous, horrid, loathsome, mortifying, nasty, nauseating, objectionable, obnoxious, odious, off-putting, pugnacious, repellent, repulsive, revolting, sickening, sleazy, stinky, ugly, undesirable, unpleasant, unsightly, vile should automatically be included in it's description. It offends me because I am Chinese. I do not want people to think that this is what Chinese food tastes like. The clientele? Gypsys, Tramps, and Thieves. That is all that I will say. Okay...one more comes to mind..douchebags. I have lost all faith in mankind. I've lost all credibility. I hereby turn in my Asian card. I truly hate myself at this very moment. This restaurant is by far the worst place that I have ever eaten in my life. I could have been dumpster diving. I feel ashamed. Against my better judgment...I told my husband to pick where we would have dinner tonight. I have no idea what is wrong with him. Perhaps he was high? He said that he had a taste for BUFFET!! Chinese buffet. Somewhere in his past he remembered that they were really good. Whatever. We found 3 locations. One in the Brickyard, near the HIP and also one in the Menard's plaza. We figured that the one located near the HIP was probably the most desirable location. The windows were steamy and outside the restaurant smelled of seafood and garlic. Inside, not much better with traces of bad body odor. We located a clean table and I approached the area to serve my little one first. With 4 aisles of food, there really wasn't much that appeared edible. The salad bar area looked as if the food was spoiled, nothing was kept at the proper temperature. Cold food is warm, hot food cold. The dessert area? Ugh! It looked as if the food was left out from the weekend before. Smashed ice cream cones. solidified jello, brown pineapples and bananas, etc. There was even a selection of sushi if you weren't afraid of food poisoning. The meats had tons of gristle and fat, and the majority of foods were deep fried. I thought that I was eating a fried crabstick. My bad. It was more like a long hush puppy dyed red on one side. Even scarier was the fact that I could not see into the kitchen. There were 2 mysterious metal doors that would pop open where servers would quickly grab the trays and quickly shut the doors. I could not help but think of some of the 7 deadly sins while gazing around me. Sloth, Gluttony, Greed...it was alive and well here. They actually offered Alaskan King Crab legs here. The line for the crab legs were 16 deep. My husband and I watched with disgust as each time that the tray was replenished some foul uncouth f**ktard emptied the entire tray on their own plate with absolutely no regard for those waiting behind them. Absolutely wrong and disgusting. Without even attempting to finish my plate, I had enough. I could not subject myself to the bowels of humanity any longer. We were leaving. No ifs, ands, or buts. A yelper, Robert S. once said that buffet stood for Big Ugly Fat F**ks Eating Together. I could not agree more! P.S. My husband had the nerve and audacity to tell me as we were leaving that we were too good for this place. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and think, "Are you F**king kidding me? You subjected us to this dinner! You had no issue before!" P.S.S. In response to Curt S., have you eaten there, or do you just work there? If not, don't post your opinion. For 8 bucks I don't expect 5 star cuisine or service. I've been to Vegas and have eaten better food at buffets for $5. Even dives have had better food. I expect a restaurant to serve edible food kept at the proper temperature, not congealed, gristly mystery food. This place is a health inspection nightmare.

Well, it seems other people either like or loathe this place. I would fall in the middle. They had quite a bit of food here, including some American mainstays like Mac and Cheese and Pizza, which to me is weird because this is a Chinese place. But I digress. What about the Chinese food? Well...it's OK. I first tried the sweet and sour chicken, because that is my favorite and was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty darn good. The white rice was fine too so no complaints. How were the eggrolls? Another thing I love to eat when I go for Chinese. They were absolutely horrid. I've had ones that were frozen from Jewel that were better than these. Some of the other stuff was ok, but some of it looked pretty disgusting. Not quite Temple of Doom beetles and chilled monkey brains disgusting, but still not quite appetizing. I would probably stick to getting endless plates of the S&S Chicken. The price was...ok. The price of admission would probably be the price of a single order of something at a normal restaurant, and here you could get as much as you want. Though that being said, I would probably rather go to a better Chinese place, because in this area there would probably be a much nicer place where ALL the food is good, not just some of it.

Hmmm....I am sure there was a Panda Express that would have been more satisfying!

great place, the low rating is not deserved. if i were to move away, first place i'd come to eat would be this place. very busy, too busy on the weekends.

Thank you.

The place is nice. Big and we'll set. I would have given it 4 stars maybe but there is no fried shrimp. Every other place regardless of the time serves fried shirt so I had to eat noodles only. -_- sorry guys

  • Natalie S.

  • Kat L.

    (3)
  • Francis F.

I like this buffet place because that have quite a selection of American/Chinese food and seafood, included is a sushi buffet, hibachi grill option and lots of deserts. Food tastes fresh the multiple times ive been here for a quick bite! And there's just so many seating options!

    (4)

    (2)
  • Ty R.

The variety on the buffet is amazing. They have everything you could possibly want. However, the flavors and quality are sub par. The fruit was fresh and sweet. For the price you do get your money's worth if you can get pass the first plate.

  • Rachel C.

We just tried it because we always noticed how crowded it is and thought it must be good. Incorrect. It was very gross. None of the food was warm or good ans the floors were so dirty. The whole experience grossed me out and I'm never going back.

  • Frank C.

It's ok not as horrible as th other reviews. I will the one thing you do want in a buffet is it to be busy then that way you know the food is always fresh. And this place is always busy. I don't particularly like the seating because it is more lunch room style as oppose to having piracy. But it's ok.

Not the best buffet I've ever been to but i do like the food and the price is right. So its not the highest quality food or even really authentic chinese food. For roughly 10 bucks for all I can eat I really don't complain.

I like this buffet place because that have quite a selection of American/Chinese food and seafood, included is a sushi buffet, hibachi grill option and lots of deserts. Food tastes fresh the multiple times ive been here for a quick bite! And there's just so many seating options!

Thank you.

The place is nice. Big and we'll set. I would have given it 4 stars maybe but there is no fried shrimp. Every other place regardless of the time serves fried shirt so I had to eat noodles only. -_- sorry guys

  • Ty R.

The variety on the buffet is amazing. They have everything you could possibly want. However, the flavors and quality are sub par. The fruit was fresh and sweet. For the price you do get your money's worth if you can get pass the first plate.

  • Angelica D.

    (1)
  • Allison R.

This place is disgusting! I can't believe it hasn't been shut down for health code violations. After witnessing a worker wipe down the buffet counter and slide all the food back into the pans, I couldn't even make my first plate. All the silverware and glasses looked like that were just rinsed and not washed. I should've have never stepped into this place just by looking at their filthy windows.

    (1)
  • Anthony W.

It's ok not as horrible as th other reviews. I will the one thing you do want in a buffet is it to be busy then that way you know the food is always fresh. And this place is always busy. I don't particularly like the seating because it is more lunch room style as oppose to having piracy. But it's ok.

I want to give some helpful advice to the management of Super China Buffet. Please train your staff, particularly the guys at the stir fry hibachi grill, to be more polite and pleasant. They are so rude... until you show them that you're actually leaving a tip at the tip jar.

  • Jovia F.

I beg of you, remodel, revamp menu, then I will RE-do this review.

great place, the low rating is not deserved. if i were to move away, first place i'd come to eat would be this place. very busy, too busy on the weekends.

I like this place better than the one with the ice cream. The selection of food is better here

OMG!! let me recommend the mac n' cheese, french fries, and pizza.

Not the best buffet I've ever been to but i do like the food and the price is right. So its not the highest quality food or even really authentic chinese food. For roughly 10 bucks for all I can eat I really don't complain.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
