I went with my 3 girlfriends to this place after dinner. And this is just my opinion, but I thought it sucked I was so f'n bored outta my damn mind. It is a small place with a small ass dance floor (supposedly that's what it is) and my ass likes to dance but there are like 30 and 40 years olds on the dance floor dancing to the shitty ass music the dj was playing. Okay, a shitty song every other like few minutes whatever, but this was consistently one crappy song after another. my friends had to hold me back because I wanted to go take my stool and bang it into his head and ask him if he really thought this was good music he was playing!!?? *sigh* Dont even get me started on the overpriced, foul tasting alchol. There are soooo many other places to go to in Suburbia than here!! ugh.

I am a fan of features. While the drinks can be a bit pricey the atmosphere and crowd usually make up for it. I would have given this place 5 stars however, I had a bad run in with a rude bartender and he kind of tainted my view of the place. I would still go back when I am in Naperville I would just avoid his bar. There are a couple of bars in the building so it does make it convenient but if you want a table you'd better get there early or you'll be SOL.

3 stars because I am completely on the fence about this place. There are times I like Features, times when I hate Features. The crowd: as Evelyn said, the twenty & thirty somethings but also a dash of the forty somethings that try to be the twentysomethings. Drinks are not cheap here, also of the times I've been here, trying to get a drink at the bar seems to take F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I find that trying to get a drink at the back bar is a lot less cumbersome or stick with beer. For the most part, this is a fun place but I don't make this place my usual.

I like that this place has a bunch of different things going on (dancing, booths, outdoor patio) and it's connected to the bar next door. The people are annoying napervillians (young, cute, overdone makeup, rude) but what are you going to do. The drinks are not cheap.

  • Catie C.

Been here twice. ORDER THE FRIED CHEESE BALLS. You have not lived until they have danced upon your tongue. Also there's an open patio upstairs. Drinks and food are good, bartenders attentive. French fries have been better, but I recommend.

My first time here was about 5 years ago for my birthday. I came for dinner and my first legal drink in a bar! We had a large table full of family and friends. The food was good - but nothing to write home about. The drinks though - delish! Those bartenders know how to make a good cocktail, and martini for that matter. If you get here before 10 pm you are guaranteed to find a good seat or post up at the bar, but later on in the evening though it gets pretty packed. My favorite thing about features is that you can basically be at three completely different bars depending where you sit and what time you come in. If you come in early you'll get a great spot to have a decent meal and enjoy a cocktail. If you come in a little later, the DJ will be going and the dance floor will be rockin'. If you head up to the roof top bar, you'll find a casual atmosphere that is fantastic in the summer. I personally enjoy the mixed venue. It's lively regardless, but the vibe does change depending on the time of night and where you choose to hang out in the bar. It's totally worth checking out! I've never had a bad time.

Meh. This bar is just OK. Went here last Sunday and had a couple drinks at the bar, then switched to the 'patio' seating. Its still indoors, but they open up the front windows so its like your sitting outside. The bartender didn't have a lot of personality and she spoke so softly I couldn't hear a word she said. The mai tai was good, but I swear she gave me a corona and not a stella. The murmuring bartender swore up and down it was stella, but even still it came in a corona glass, not a stella glass, and the taste was not the same. Wasn't happy about that. I'll have to come back a second time and try the food to really give this place a proper review, but for now, three stars will suffice. Average service, average atmosphere, average drinks.

This review is specifically for the bar on a Saturday night. Go here if you want to be set up with a Sergio, Juan, or Pedro. You'll love this place if you love being in the presence of young 21 yr. old douchebags. Also, if you want to spend money on 4 shots that have barely any alcohol in them for $24, go here!

I've seen a line out to the door to this place a few times - once full of girls all dressed in dresses and heels so I assumed it had more of a club-type atmosphere. We did our own bar hopping for St. Patrick's Day weekend and made our way in as it was before midnight...and everyone was out just to have a good time sporting our green so it wasn't going to be a dress & heels night in this place regardless. After The Lantern & Jimmy's, we made our way in for more beer...and well, food. There were several tables open and I'd say it was more of a lounge-type place. It took some time to have our server come by to get our drink order and give us menus. It wasn't even crowded - that is my only complaint. Big props to the $5 24oz bottles of Miller Lite, now that was awesome! I don't think I've ever been to a bar that sold that size bottles of beer! The menu was good - in fact I couldn't even figure out what I wanted to eat but settled for a buffalo chicken sandwich. I can't really give more info about this place given it wasn't a typical night here but I'd probably stop in again.

  • Drew N.

Poor service. Asked for a drink menu, was told that they didn't have one and was told the only beers that they offered on the roof top were Oberon and blue moon. A couple minutes later we see and hear the couple next to us order off a drink menu. Ordered a whiskey sour, short poured with about 95% sour, 5% whiskey. 20 minutes later we see another couple order 2 draft beers that were clearly not blue moon or Oberon.

Along with all of downtown Naperville, Features isn't what it use to be. The bar is crowded and don't even think about getting on the dance floor without a spill or a heel to the foot. The DJ was ok at best, he liked to take frequent long breaks. If you like hot, sweaty unmovable spaces go ahead and check this place out.

    (3)
  • Genevieve L.

There are 2 sections to this place. One side is live music and the other is some attempt at a club scene. Both are decent considering this is the burbs. The drinks are cheap and the shots are half the size of a normal shot so expect a decent buzz not a huge rage.

    (3)
  • Angela P.

The bar specials could use some work as they are extremely limited to things like Miller and Bud lite, $4 rum and coke, and another beer thrown in. The bartenders are friendly though and on the Monday before Christmas, it was dead in here so we got our drinks quickly. Features has been the first stop on our pre-Christmas Eve bar crawl for several years. I like the lounge feel to it but the identity suffers with all of the TVs tuned to ESPN. The bar is huge, and there's so much potential, so what pisses me the f*ck off about this place is that they aren't making the best of their prime real estate. The bars in downtown Naperville just aren't that impressive once you're out of college. Celebrating your 21st birthday? Bachelorette party? Sure, go for it. But Features, and downtown Naperville bars in general, aren't for grown ups. Go over to Jackson Avenue pub and have some real food and real beer.

  • Ryo S.

Went outside for a smoke, waited in line for a half an hour to get back in and the bouncer said I couldn't get back in because he said I had too much to drink tonight. I had four beers.

    (1)
  • Jay n.

The food here is consistently good and there is no better place in town to watch sports on multiple TVs from every angle. Sit at the bar, pick a table. Play some pool. Sure , it turns into more of a dance club late at night, but this is a college town and the owner is still able to cater to families during the day and through dinner, then the college kids at night.

Been here tons of times and I really enjoy dancing with my friends. The dj needs to be better. If that changed if would be even better here.

First time going to Features on a Saturday night, and I didn't find the music/dance portion of this place impressive. I heard from fellow friends this place is fun and the music is good, but I was disappointed when there was no DJ until one hour before close. Their music consisted of Carley Rae and Taylor Swift; that is not dance music. If you enjoy dancing to good music, this isn't the place. People didn't know how to keep to themselves, and were rude bumping in to you on the small dance floor. I guess that's what happens when you're young and in your mid-20s and can't hold your liquor. Features is only good for drinks and food. Our server was attentive, and gave us good service. Prices on alcoholic drinks were pricey. I won't return for the entertainment; bunch of light weights who get excited over Taylor Swift music.

The only reason this place even gets two stars is because a couple years back when I turned 21 I had a nice time dancing and getting drinks here...then again everyone has a great 21st usually so I wouldn't say this place was the main reason. I've gone here a couple times to get drinks and some appetizers with friends, but literally you get ignored by the bartenders and all the staff. I'm bringing you business and what would have been a nice tip and literally not even a, "hello" or "what can I get you to drink?" I'm all about second chances...thirds...not so much.

    (2)
  • Taylor B.

We come here often to watch games on the many TVs inside. The staff is very nice so that's the only reason for the third star. The food is subpar AT BEST. Do not order the hot dog. It claims to be Chicago style and is missing vital pieces of what makes a dog Chicago style but substituted with cucumber and ketchup. Ew. Also ate the buffalo wings with sauce that lacks the spice of a buffalo sauce and is instead sweet flavored. Come for the ambience and the drinks maybe but if you want good bar food while watching a game skip Features.

  • Suzanne Z.

I do not enjoy going to this place. It's a dance club atmosphere, which gives some guys the impression that its ok to feel up on innocent girls. The vibe of this place is kind of "jersey shore"-esque, if you know what I mean. I try to avoid this place at all costs. Hard to get a drink too. Don't waste your time.

This bar complex (Features / Club Mamalu / Frankie's Blue Room) is a goldmine waiting to happen. It's by far the best venue in Naperville, with the most potential, and it has no viable business plan. It's all over the place. Please, I'm begging you! Please either hire a new general manager, or give someone with a creative mind the authority to make this place what it could be. And for God sake, please do something about that God awful website! I don't think you have any idea how important a functional website is in the 21 century. I want to love this place! I have been trying for years, but someone with focus and creativity needs to take the reins of this misguided thoroughbred!

So this is how the far western suburbs get down! I am very rarely go to a bar/club in the burbs, and this place reminded me why. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time, but it was mostly because of the company I was with. The music was not very good, I mean where did they get the DJ??? He didn't do a good job of hyping up the crowd with good music, and the volume was too low. I mean I could actually here conversations...from across the bar!!! I thought this was Naper-Thrill. This place was snoozeville.

I came to features with a few of my friends. We came in early and sat at the booth like seats by the "dance floor". Every time I leaned forward the booth seat would come up. The fact that I am only 4'11" made if difficult because sitting back I couldn't touch the floor. Also the seats were ripped and put back together with duct tape. Very dirty. From where I was sitting the "dance floor" (quotes because It is in the middle of a narrow room that makes it impossible to pass to get to the back of the bar where outside access is and the pool tables are) I noticed men standing there by themselves video taping girls dancing. The bouncers did absolutely nothing about it. It made me incredibly uncomfortable to the point where I didn't even want to walk to the bathroom. My group ended up leaving early. The waitress was very nice. drinks were expensive hardly any alcohol put in them and mostly mixers. Not worth my time. Will not be returning. Tell the bouncers to watch the creeps by the dance floor!!!!!!!!

We stopped here for lunch the other day and our overall experience was pretty good. We all enjoyed our food and the burger that I had was really good. Our server was great despite having many tables at once. The only downside was the cleanliness of the place. The table and floor were not as clean as they should have been. Other than that we enjoyed the food.

Went here for NYE. Had a great time! Packed with people the dance floor was hopping! The drinks were huge and I was really drunk after a drink and two shots. It was a fun atmosphere with friendly people, I think the only time I could name half a dozen people I met. Definitely would come back.

came here for a tennis dinner with the team. We had a big party and i think our waitress was a bit overwhelmed. I dont think i'll come here again unless its for the tennis team. im not sure if there are any drink specials and the food was okay.

I've never ate there only gone there on weekends for drinks and what not. The owner Riff is a cool guy who knows how to keep a hoppin night club. They do a good job of keeping the thugs out but I do warn people about going to the roof top bar. Last year there was a murder up there and an innocent young school teacher was stabbed by a local hoodlum. You can see exactly where it happened because the area is power washed and everything else is not. Oh and don't use the bathrooms, very dirty.

Hefty pours of wine for $5... guess this place is alright. It was a bit cramped inside, but the outdoor area was nice for a big group to congregate in. After a few drinks it is easy to get a little lost; this place is broken up into several areas. Also noticed there wasn't a main dance floor...that I could find. I think I will try somewhere new next time I am downtown.

    (3)
  • Caroline M.

I've only ever been on the weekends at nighttime. It always seems empty otherwise. The dance floor is pretty small and always very congested. I honestly can't comment at what the drink prices were, as I've never had to actually buy myself a drink there. There are a couple different bars inside so it's less crowded. Also, there's a bathroom concierge which is good for the weekend; it gets messy in there.

Service was slow, food was served way to hot and I never received the water I ordered twice. IPA beer was served in an ice tea glass. Overrated.

This is my bar that I always frequent when in downtown Naperville.. at least it used to be. My group of 10 were celebrating a birthday this past weekend. We arrived about 11:15pm to find a line at the features entrance but no line at Club Mamalou, score! We walked right in. Although I have always had good luck with the bartenders, always fast to wait on me and always strong drinks, this time was not the case. I was at the back bar on features side waiting for a cranberry vodka, pretty simple. I was looking at the bartender and had money in my hand, typically all you need for a bartender to come up to you for your order. She constantly kept on skipping me over and I was getting frustrated. Apparently she "lost her card" not sure what that meant but that lead to her leaving the bar for 10+ minutes, leaving just one girl behind the bar. All the other bar areas were packed, so I waited until she came back, only to get skipped over again! When I decided to say something when she was making a drink for someone else, she decided to take it upon herself to cuss me out about being an "Asshole" and that I needed to chill out. Excuse me, but waiting 20+ minutes for a drink is not acceptable as well as staff that is rude! I will be rethinking a future trip to Features in favor of another bar in the area next time.

  • Jill B.

We had terrible service here. My fiance and I took his parents to downtown Naperville for the first time and we decided to try Features. We spent most of the night ignored and ordered four sandwiches--no alcoholic beverages. Our intention was to get in and out, but four sandwiches took over two hours. We were never apologized to and it was, frankly, the crappiest and worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in DuPage.

    (1)
  • Shannon H.

I'm going to be straight up honest and say that Downtown Naperville is NOT my favorite place to party. That being said, Features is actually all right, and probably my favorite Downtown Naperville bar. Features is usually pretty busy at night which is nice. They have plenty of space as well as plenty of places to sit down and rest your feet. They have a DJ and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights and the music is usually pretty good. The bar is clean, and they pretty much have the best drink prices in the area on weekends. The only real downside for me is the crowd, which can't be helped because it's the usual Downtown Naperville crowd. If Downtown Naperville is your scene though you can't really do much better than Features.

    (3)
  • Stacy O.

The only good thing about this place is you can possibly get a window seat. The service is awful. There are 4 waitresses standing around in an empty place and you can not get service. I would go elsewhere.

    (2)
  • April P.

Meh. This place is big. Perhaps too big. I just want to dance. If I can hear a general hum of the crowd around me over the music, the speakers are not doing it for me and I. will. leave. I need to feel the bass, and I was not feeling it 'hear'. It was really disappointing because the venue was amazing. It was a beautiful building that has kept many bits and pieces from ages past - which I appreciated very much. I will say that the crowd was fun and not sketchy which was a relief compared to some other bars that I will not mention here. So thank you Features for that : ) My drink was the least strong I've ever had it.

    (3)
  • Alexa E.

Not a fun time, this place. It's a big place with plenty of room so you aren't dancing on top of people, but the crowd just ruins the fun. The service isn't anything special either. I ordered a beer that was on special, and after a couple sips I realized that nasty ish was expired. When I asked the waitress for a new one that wasn't expired, she told me since I had a few sips I would have to pay for a new one. -.- Really?! Needless to say, that was the last beer I paid for at this place. The crowd is pretty blended, from 20's to middle aged, which I can appreciate. Yet, I had an interesting encounter with an older gentleman the first time I came here which my friends love to retell. While standing around with my girlfriends by the bar, just talking, a middle aged man (who was most likely married) came up behind me and whispered, "You're looking good in those pants, and coming from me that's a compliment!" Yeah, kinda hard to forget that... Just not my kind of place.

Did an excellent job handling our large group outing yesterday! Absolutely knocked it out of the park! Flexible to our needs and the servers were very attentive and urgent the entire evening. I was impressed and hope to schedule future events at this establishment.

I have been in the service industry for nearly 10 years and have never heard such an outdated DJ. I understand limiting the type of music, but this was awful. Management needs to address this..

With Features it can be a mixed bag for some. I have only gone on Saturday nights. I personally enjoy the feel of the bar and music played. With the right crowd this place is great and really fun. You have to want to dance and be a bit crazy. This isn't a chill bar to hang out at and talk in. It is nice too because it is attached to 2 other bars. All 3 bars are similar but different at the same time. Features is the loudest and most energic though imo. The only bad things I come across while there is that if you don't show up early enough you will not have a table, and sometimes the people who come in can be a bit uptight and snobby. Being downtown Naperville though that is kind of expected.

    (4)
  • Morgan M.

I came. I drank. I danced. All with a forty in my hand, because I'm super classy like that! Okay, Features, I want to really jam on you because, when do you ever come across a bar that is serving up a beer super-sized that isn't Pabst or from the 7-Eleven? With a group of people, I ventured into Features for the first time and have to admit, it was an experience. Getting drinks, despite the crowds is easy as pie. The bartenders pay close attention to the mass swarm of people that are lookin' to hook up. Eye-distraction everywhere, be prepared. You'll feel a stigmatism come on, and it's more than welcomed. Basically all bars in Naperville turn into dance clubs or bars with club music, this is something I am becoming used to on a general basis. It's no different here. The music and lights dim, it's loud and everyone is either dancing, or they're standing by one of the three bars with their group dancing in place. Don't deny it, it happens to the best of us! The surprising factor-the massive beers that made me feel like I was about to get my crunk on. That crunk-was hop-induced. Major wow-factor that also stood out....the ladies washroom. Whoa, do I see an attendant? Yes, there really is someone there. Are there lights under the sink? Yes, stand back a few feet otherwise your drunk ass really does look drunk with wrinkles. Definitely a bar that would be listed on a pub crawl if going through the area, you kind of can't go wrong with Features. Whether you want a frilly cocktail or a beer, they've got you covered.

Let's just say I had a nice time. The reason.......I actually was crunked up! First time I went into downtown Naperville with some old friends. We pregamed at my condo.......then we went here. Compared to Wrigley bars.....these bars are less crowded. The crowd tends to be mainly white.....some minorities......unlike typical Chicago bars. So I told my friend about some of the conspriacy theories I usually talk I about on the yelp forums.......and since we were wasted.......he said it was "hilarious" and messed up. And we ended up talking about the Federal Reserve and fractional reserve banking. LOL. I need to come up with better drunk topics. Also, my friend asked one dude.......who kept on staring at him......"Do you have a problem." It looked like a fight would occur.......luckily nothing happened. So my friend asked him........where you from........he said "England." lol. he was joking. The guy asked me........you English too.......I said you know it. His drunk friend said........"naw, he's Pakistani and some shit like that. The friend told him to knock it off...lol. Yep. That was my night there. Also, the other thing is that the bars close at 2AM. Only down part.

Okay - great place for young suburbanites to hang out with other suburbanites. I'd personally take the extra 20 minute drive to the city. Music is good and if your a sista who likes white boys... this is your spot :-)

  • Jill T.

Features is nicely decorated and clean for the most part. BUT the empty bottles and glasses rarely get picked up - resulting in broken glass all over the floor. Especially near the dance floor. I've never seen that much broken glass in a bar. Young and dirty dancing crowd. If you're a day over 24 you're out of place. "DJ" was terrible with transitions, making dancing feel really unnatural. Wont be coming back. Features is the reason I can't wait to leave the suburbs again.

    (1)
  • Mark R.

As for the previous reviews regarding the music. I do not think it is the DJ's choice in what he gets to play. Until they change that we will never come here again. No Hip Hop? No R&B? They seem to discriminate at the door. There was a bar in Chicago that did this very thing, and along came a heep load of trouble. Every other bar in Naperville plays club music. Why not you Features? If you complain while you are here, maybe a change will come. A bunch of biggots. I think. P.S. The food is half ass.

    (2)
  • Andrew T.

There is only one way to go from the bar in the front to the bar in the back, and that one way is right through the very crowded dance floor. The place is also littered with empty bottles and glasses everywhere. If you are over 23 years old, you will feel old at this place. It is a giant raucous shindig The DJ is probably a local college student trying to make ends meet. The place is understaffed, probably because someone up top is trying to cut down on overhead. They have good bouncers though. The last time I went there someone threw a bottle and it shattered right next to me. Two huge behemoths swept in like angry elephants and made short work of the belligerent patron. Apart from chatting with one of the bartenders on which Disney princess would make the best wife, there really is little to really savor from this place. Also, EVERY TIME I come to Features, some moron spills their drink on me. If I do return to this watering hole, I am going to wear a poncho.

Worst service I have ever had. We went to Features for a birthday party and had about 7 people. When we requested a table the waitress actually said, "I'll be right back when you're done moving the tables". I could NOT believe she acutally expected me and my friend, paying customers, to move the tables ourselves. I came there to relax not work!! Then we ordered a round of drinks, they came out and were fine. Then we ordered apps and they came out fine as well. Things were starting to look up until she kept forgetting our drinks. One by one, she seemed to stop caring about her job. When it came time to pay the bill- she split up everything incorrectly and then accused me of not paying one of the tabs when we all knew we had. So rather then cause a scene I paid it, again. I will never set foot in that restaurant again!! I would never recommend it, and I hope that no one ever has to experience that! Susan D

My boyfriend and I stopped in to get a drink and a light meal last Sunday night. I'd been to Features a couple times before (in my pre-Yelping days) and wasn't too blown away, but we thought we'd give it a chance anyway. I ordered a Cosmo - an uncharacteristic choice for me, but I was feeling like something obnoxiously "girly." It wasn't bad, but it was garnished with a lemon wedge (I thought lime was standard) and a couple seeds had fallen into the drink. Not a deal breaker or anything, but it was kind of annoying. For my meal, I had the small bowl of lobster bisque, which was surprisingly good! Very creamy and delicious, with lumps of lobster meat. My boyfriend got the nachos, which were far too big for one person to eat, but came with plenty of toppings (let's see...cheese, salsa, guac, sour cream, chili con carne, queso dip, jalapenos...I think that's all!). I have to echo S. M.'s criticism that service was "earnest if a little clueless"...our waitress had no idea what the drink specials were for the night. Features may not be the best bar or restaurant in the area, but it'll do in a pinch!

Great atmosphere! I liked the place as soon as I walked in. I went this summer so they had it all opened up and lots of people everywhere. I enjoyed the music and everyone seemed to be having a good time. However my drink wasn't all that tasty... And the bartenders were very inattentive. I really didn't appreciate that. The best part of this place is that you can go drink somewhere and come here to dance.. Unless of course their bartenders start recognizing that they have more than one customer at a time....

I really just like to dance and when I don't feel like dressing up and going into the city, I'd definitely pick features for a dancy night out. On friday and saturday nights, the place is pretty packed and has good DJ music (mainly hip hop, top songs) until 2am. Drinks are fairly cheap . . . $5-$10 depending on the night and what drink you order. But overall, I've always had a good experience when I go out to features.

Came here for dinner the other night with a friend; it was a day that we'd just gotten the first big snow, the roads weren't really plowed yet etc., so the place was pretty empty the whole time, so I don't think my experience is representative on that front based on the others I see here. Wasn't loud, only a couple of other diners. Our waitress was about 19 and I asked her if the bar could make a hot toddy (usually bourbon or rum, tea, lemon, etc.). She had no idea what a hot toddy was, but since it was a full bar I didn't see why not and sent her to ask the bartender. She came back saying they could, and shortly came back with the most pallid-looking hot toddy I'd ever seen. Tasted ok; I don't know if they used white tea or something, or just didn't steep it long, but it was very blonde in color. At least it was hot. I ordered the lobster bisque and a fish sandwich. The lobster bisque was very tasty: creamy, complex, not fishy, with actual chunks of lobster meat in it. The fish sandwich was ok, but not really exciting. Better than a Filet-o-Fish, but nothing thrilling. Environment was classy-cozy, with ambient lighting and a big fabric-padded wall to absorb sound that also served as decor. Our service was earnest if a little clueless. Overall, Features was about on par with Rizzos or such in downtown N'ville as far as food and service. Not bad, though you could probably do better if you tried.

Not too long ago I ventured into the downtown Naperville to experience the bar scene, as I heard a few great things about it. Yet, I wasn't impressed. Features was probably the biggest bar we went too. The space is pretty massive, both in the front and back. There are three (or more?) different bars inside to order drinks from. Even with the many bars, it took way too long to be serviced a few beers; and I'm an extremely generous tipper, so I was upset when we were serviced poorly. The "dancefloor" area was slammed the whole time, making it nearly impossible to dance, and more impossible to pass through to the other side of the bar. I had come here when it was pretty cold out (beginning of December I believe), and the line was still out the door and about a half block down. But I noticed them allowing certain people to bypass the line and get inside. [Sarcasm] Yeah, cause I'm fine with freezing my ass off for an extra 20 minutes for no good reason, sure. [/Sarcasm] The music was fine. The crowd was very very mixed. Ehh, nothing I'd go back for.

I am giving features an extra star because I have, in the past, had some really memorable times there. Had lots of fun in the past....... BUT lately this place has been awful. I have only been denied access to a bar twice in my life and both times it was features and both times I wasn't too drunk to gain access to a bar by any means. In fact both times I went next door to the lantern, was welcomed in, and spent mone and had fun and didn't do anything that would resemble the destructive behavior I can only assume the rent-a-cop out front of features thought I would do. I put features barely above Rizzo's on the worst bars in downtown naperville scale.

This was my second or third time being at Features. I have had a good time every time I have came. We arrived here after going to Jilly's piano bar and we just walked over since they are only blocks away. One of servers quickly accommodated our growing party of 15. He asked us if we wanted any specific music that the DJ could play for us...and of course we did and they delivered. The DJ was great. He sent out some shout outs for my friends bachelorette party. The drinks were great prices (only $6 for amaretto stone and sours...yes!) We stayed here for like 4 hours and had a great time. Music never got dull...we enjoyed our games with the rest of the crowd we met at Features and I almost didn't want to leave the fun. Naperville does have some great bars!

Probably the best bar in the burbs and the only one that can resemble a trendy bar. This place is humongous and has two huge pool tables. There are plenty of large screen television sets along with many smaller ones. Plenty of servers were noted on the very slow Sunday I went and they were very friendly. the prices were reasonable and the place looked magnificent. Naperville doesn't really deserve a bar like this.

The space is huge. Big bar and tables in the front, a dance floor where a small section of it lights up, not quite like Saturday Night Fever though, and then a back section with more bar space, tables and pool tables. A nice space with a good amount of TVs for watching the Bulls game. However the bathrooms were freezing. I was here for a birthday get together. We got here early evening and this place was a ghost town. Because of that, we got drinks and food easily. The servers were attentive and inadvertently funny too. The sliders were alright but could have used some toppings. The fries, chicken strips and mozzarella sticks could have easily come from the frozen food section of my grocery. The crudite platter was fresh at least. I stuck with beer as I was the DD to get back to the city, so I can't say how the cocktails were. But I can say this place had the option of a monstrous bottle of Miller Lite (24oz, not a 40). I'm sure it's better for the environment along with providing more alcohol, but the one thing lacking was Vortex technology, but that's Miller's fault and not Features's. By 10pm or so the place really started to fill up. From what I could tell it's a motley clientele of a wide range of ages and manners of attire. The steady stream of pop and dance music then started to pick up as the DJ started to spin; so the dance floor started to fill up too. Generally I don't care for mixed use bars. If it wants be a sports bar, be a sports bar. If wants to be a dance bar, be a dance bar. I can't quite tell what this place wants to be, but contrary to what yelp says, I'm leaning towards dance bar. I don't care for the lack of commitment to identity, but since it's the burbs I guess they must do what they can to get people to come in, so they have to be more broad. And watch your scarves, our party was down 2 for the night after leaving.

Ironic that after growing up in Naperville, it's only after I move out of town that I start enjoying the nightlife here. It turns out for a town known to be utterly boring, it's the downtown nightlife is pretty lively. Features is part of what makes it that way; their late night food is good, drinks relatively cheap (by city standards), and music/dancefloor makes for a great night. I've noticed that the crowd tends to trend in the mid-late 20s, along with some older couples in their 40s. There always was some very random people in the crowds too, so it could be interesting. Any night out in Naperville should have Features as a place in consideration. One big minus though; their pool tables suck. But ya can't have everything, I guess.

I usually don't go out to many bars in the Naperville area, but Features is one of the few places I occasionally hit up when I'm in town. I came here first for my Birthday a couple of years ago and ever since then have not been let down. There is copious amounts of space for a lot of people to fit in, so naturally gets crammed quickly. There are flat screen tvs everywhere! oh man, I've never seen more tvs in a bar before. Also, some cool pluses are you get peanuts you have to crack open to eat (which is very fun and addicting). They also have bags set up when it's not too crowded which me and my friends always take advantage of. Hmm as for drinks and prices, it's not really too bad, just your typical over-priced rich suburban bar. I wasn't surprised that i was over paying for beer, so if you're looking for somewhere cheaper, I would avoid this place. Overall though, a nice bar, fun atmosphere, lots of tvs and complimentary peanuts is always a plus.

There wasn't anything special about this place at all. The music was awful the night we were there. Drink prices were pretty decent. Nothing stood out about this place.

Good sandwiches and great Lobster Bisque! But... Late at night, it becomes seedy. I used to like this place, but the bouncers and staff are snooty, and it's impossible to get a drink after 11 without being up to the bartenders' standard of looks.

    (2)
  • Sabrina S.

The food was okay, but the services was kind of blah. Our waitress seemed totally uninterested in us. I could understand if she was busy, but there were only 3 couples in the whole place. I really liked their lobster bisque though. If you are in downtown Naperville I would say to try something else before you go here.

I've only been here for a night out, not for the food. There's an area in the back with two bars, two pool tables and a bunch of high boy tables. I would suggest leaving your coat in the car because there's really no place to put it, unless you snag one of the tables with chairs that have backs. The crowd is especially diverse here, at least from my West Coast perspective. Maybe I just never noticed how mixed the crowds were back at home because I was always with my own friends and I wasn't people watching as much as I did here. It was really entertaining to watch everyone go about their business. The waitress came by several times so that was nice. I wasn't particularly keen on the company that ended up lingering around our table for most of the night, but nothing against Features for that. The drinks are cheap (I think I paid $5 for my well drink with tip), there's a modest sized dance floor (awkwardly placed in the walkway between the front and back of the bar) and some TVs that play sports and music videos. Your typical bar!

This place is probably closer to a 3/5 but gets an extra star because i watched the 2003/2004 Fighting Illini vs Arizona game here. Drinks are kinda over priced, food is better then your average bar food. Bathroom is kinda sketch, everything is always wet somehow. Schedule for dance floor on a friday/saturday night 9-10pm: people dancing to be humorous, they are not successful at this 10pm -10:30pm: cautious dancing, testing the waters 10:30pm-11pm: drunk girls arrive 11pm - 11:02pm: Russian dancing 11:03-12:00AM: Creepy dudes stare at drunk girls dancing, normal people stare at the creepy guys 12:01AM - 1:00 am: ????? 1AM - 1:30 AM: PROFIT

go upstairs to the outdoor patio and get an AMF. they do it right, and i could drink that all night

It's always a hit or miss. Getting a drink is nearly impossible which is surprising since there are 3 or 4 bars. The music is alright and I often gravitate towards the Club Mamalu section. There are less creepy old men and cougars oddly enough on that side. It's never too packed so that's nice but you have to be pretty drunk to appreciate this place. Sidenote: Why is Miley Cyrus playing and everyone seems to know the words..VERY STRANGE!

Every 20 something year old drunk within a 10 mile radius ends up here. Although the place is big in contrast to the other bars on the block the dj sucks, the music is horrible and the dancing that goes on in this place is just embarrasing. The best thing about this place is that it is free....and now I know why.

High School Reunion! This place is pretty cool to go get some drinks and see your entire High School graduating class. They drinks are pretty pricey and the food is meh. Features has some cool "Features " and that's why I am giving it three not two stars. When you order your drinks the price displays on a large monitor with your total. It has a green background if you are leaving the tab open and a red background when you are just paying for one drink. The bar also has a corn-hole set to play indoors.

I gave this place 4 stars, but let me preface my review by saying I've rarely been here sober, and rarely before 11 p.m. I've also never eaten here. The times I've been here on a weekday, or before 11, it was pretty tame. But this is a great bar to come to wasted, and see some characters. Usually a pretty good dance floor and they play some good tunes. I'm amazed that the place doesn't look as shabby as it should, as they haven't really redone it in years. (There's still that crack in the glass tile on the dance floor.) There are a few bars in there, which cuts down on wait times for drinks, and even a decent outdoor area, which is nice. The bathroom is really clean, which is surprising given the number of people there. My friend from Wisconsin was offered coke in the bathroom. Kind of embarassing but whaddya gonna do, this is Napervegas after all. They also have beer bottles on ice for those that just need something to take on the dance floor. Overall, fun place if you don't take it too seriously and like a good crowd of skanks, skeezers, wankstas, and tough guys. This place is not laid back at all, especially after 11. A great source of entertainment if you are drunk, looking to dance, or looking to score.

My first impression of this place, was wow.. a lot of fine looking people here, so it must be good! I don't like the idea that when at capacity, there tends to be a line. So pretty much we had to wait 20 minutes to get into a bar. Though, I did enjoy the ambient and how there offer tables to sit at and optional to visit the top deck. I also enjoyed that the have 22oz. Beer and the pricing was cheap! I was astounded, maybe for I have never seen that. Can you say, drinks all around?! The music could have been better, though I think it had to do with the DJ playing that night.. I mean the dude looked as if he enjoyed 80's far too much. Back to the future was probably his favorite movie. Overall, good place to go to get a good buzz and meet new people, though I doubt you will have a Blast here.

My fiance and I were looking for somewhere fun to watch a Bears game and stumbled upon features. He loved the TVs everywhere. Each big booth has its own TV, which I must admit is pretty cool. The waitresses are nice and the food is good, if not typical, bar food. Yummy mimosas...perfect for a Sunday morning! Features has lots of space and is perfect for hanging out and watching a game.

Features makes me laugh. I've been coming here with my girlfriends forever, and it is the place I go when I want to relive my shady college years. It's the quintessential girls' night out/bachelorette party spot. Service is good, music is dunk-screaming-college-girl good, drinks are good.

I would love to know why anyone would wait in the super long line to get into this place. It's a bar in downtown Naperville, not a club in Chicago. Features is endurable when all the drunk people aren't there yet. I've only ventured into this place three times and one of those times was just to pee. Speaking of pee, the bathrooms are grody to the max. The stalls are made out of this opaque/frosted glass. I'm sorry, I don't want the other ladies in the bathroom too see my silhouette while I pee and I certainly don't want to see theirs. No thanks! The bouncers are always nice, but then again they're always nice to me, its probably my sweet, innocent looking face. It's a pretty huge place with a long bar and pool tables in the back. The dance floor is a decent size but none of this matters when the place gets packed. You will be elbow to elbow with people who get offended if you so happen to breathe near them. You will find every type of person in here: young people, cougars, old guy creeps, general creepers, girls in stilettos who think they own the earth and some decent people who just want to have a good time. If you want to have a good experience here get there before 10pm because it gets packed after. I honestly won't come back here unless I'm forced by a friend because I can't stand most of the clientele.

Went with a group. My wife was with her friends and couldn't find her. Thought she might have gone out so I went out to look for and didn't find. Wanted to get back in bar, to look once more ,bouncer said I can't!! I explained the situation, and asked again. Yes I used please word too. His response was talk to cops. 4 cops came in and they had the same response. Thought police was to help people! Police asked for my Id , I heard the other side saying "he is clear". And this guy asked other cop to write a ticket. I was not angry during the entire incident and was rather worried and never raised my voice. My crime is I asked to get in to look for my wife. I thought this great country show some humanitarian consideration. They talk about human rights and go to war to protect it. What about showing it a little at home. Either cops are getting paid by the bar owner or they are racist like the previous commenter said since I am brown. Country of Hippocrates boast greatest country on earth BS!

effen fun Think cute little pockets of partying. There are two front bar areas, a great dance floor (albeit small but hey, white people live in Naperville and they mostly just dance in their seats). I need a place like this in my suburbia downtown

The service was painfully slow. There were almost no other customers in the restaurant, but our laconic server didn't take our food order for at least 25 minutes until after we were seated. Our appetizer didn't arrive until we'd been seated for 45 minutes. We waited so long for dinner that I had to leave for work and wasn't able to eat. The manager agreed to comp my dinner and have it delivered to my office across the street. However, this was only after I complained. By the time the food arrived it was cold. =(

We stopped in with a group of friends for dinner and it was very nice inside. The Beer special were some of the best I have seen in quite awhile. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and wow it was tasty. This is a trendy bar and really not my speed anymore, but I would go back for some shenanigans if requested.

Fun bar, good music, moderately priced drinks. A lot of older, 80s and 90s music (Humpty dance and black betty seem to make it into the mix a lot) that I enjoy. Usually a lot of people, but also alot of room and three different bars to get drinks. Just found out this place has a rooftop that is very coozy also.

I've always had a good time at Features, despite the influx of pretentious, yuppy offspring. Whatever, I'll let it slide because the women are smokin'. 21...31...I don't care about your age, if you're hot, you're hot. It makes for a good change of pace from having to go down to the city, and other suburban areas like St. Charles or Schaumburg. I take a star away for the prices and small dance floor in the middle of a walkway.

This place deserves 4 stars because of Gabby the waitress. She hands down won my friend and I over during the 4th of July. We were on the roof top patio wanted to grab dinner and watch the fireworks, but there were no tables left. She looked around a bit for us and then disappeared in the back. Gabby returned with our very own table that she carried up a flight of stairs so we could enjoy an amazing dinner. Random acts of kindness are the best, especially on the 4th of July.

This place was cool, though the best thing out the night was the NO COVER CHARGE, lol. There is a good mix in this 5x5 bar....however with that small size came very little dancefloor. I had no problem finding parking outside or a seat at the bar once I got in, I actually went straight to the bar and sat which blew my mind away as its hard to find anywhere to sit anywhere on Friday nights. The bartender was cordial and nice but the Bar hand was a bit scary with his one long braided pony tail.....eeek. I would suggest if you live in the west suburbs and looking for convenience and a short distance in driving.

While the atmosphere is decidedly yuppie, my husband and I always have fun here and never spend more than $30 or $40 buck for food and drinks. When a sports game is on, this place gets really packed and loud, but always in a friendly competitive nature. The bartenders are great at helping you pick out a drink (I'm always in the mood for checking out a bars specials or recommendations). The food is typical bar fare, sandwiches, fries, burgers etc., but they're tasty and server up fast and with a smile. I've never been able to nab one of the pool tables in the back, but have been fortunate enough to hear some of the live music. Good time, good prices, and just an overall friendly place to be.

Like Nelson, I'm on the fence. Features seems to have a split personality, and itseems to be a coin toss as to if you'll have a good crowd (and a good time) or not. The space is long and narrow with the so-called "dance floor" right in the middle, so when the "dance floor" gets packed, its all but impossible to move past it. The "patio" area seems kind of like an afterthought, and its undersized. And don't even think of trying to use the pool tables after 7:00 PM. I'll agree with Evelyn and Cassandra on the "like, oh my god" quality of a good percentage of the crowd (I had one going for a good hour on the premise that I was Nate Dogg's "stunt double"! I was involuntarily forced to play wingman for a friend of mine, and I really had no interest in the girl OR her friend); but there are some people worth talking to. Staff is pretty friendly and accomodating, never had a problem getting a drink (I make it a habit to drop a $20.00 in advance; the barmaids seem to remember me throughout the night). Whatever you do, though- DON'T order a Mojito- they have no clue how to make one. Trust me- you'll thank me!
