Capannari Ice Cream

This place is supposedly rated the best ice cream in Chicago and I can see why! The ice cream here is so good! Very creamy and flavorful. There are a ton of flavors, and they are very generous with their serving sizes and prices. The location is in a cute little house in a little park. It is really nice to explore the gardens in the park while enjoying the ice cream. I recommend the chocolate peanut butter. Delicious! The waffle cones are really good too (and they even have chocolate ones!) Plus, the logo is super cute! :)
Super creamy, thick ice cream. A good selection with mostly traditional flavors (chicken & waffles being the outlier). I've tried their flight ($4.75) and large sundae ($4.99 for 2 scoops + 2 toppings). Flavors tried: praline pecan, java chip, mediterranean sea salt caramel, lemon/black raspberry sorbet, malted butter fudge, pistachio, chicken & waffles. Enjoyed all, pistachio being the weakest link (Ben & Jerry's pistachio is my go-to). Service good/meh depending on who you get.
Great ic cream, some unique flavors and they let you try. I chose the flight option - thanks yelp reviewers for letting me know this was an option. I Had the chocolate peanut butter crunch - big yum!!! - malted butter fudge - delish - salted caramel - tasted like butterscotch - and black raspberry chip - which was good too. Tried the coconut chip - yummy! Hubs had mint chip, rocky road - filled with nuts and marshmallows, pralines & creme, and chicken & waffles - he liked all but first two listed were his favs. My son had cake batter which was incredible. I don't think there is a bad flavor Quintessential ice cream shop in a house with a park next door. I have lived in area for 7 years and just discovered cant wait to go back

Dave’s Specialty Foods

Reviews:
I rarely take the time to write a review but this catering service deserves 10 stars. I threw a special surprise B-day party for my wife and invited 40 of her lifetime friends. All the typical restaurants and wineries were booked so a friend recommended Dave's. It was local and it was special. We met Dave and Sue and they immediately took a personal interest in the theme of the party and our plans. They helped with suggestions of very unique and eclectic choices for appetizers, and other dishes. The rumaki, the cheese puffs and everything were interesting and delicious. Moreover, Dave's supplied a fantastic staff of bartender and server that set up tables, the bar and made everyone at home. They completely cleaned up, packaged leftovers and took down tables so we had no followup work left to do. The reasonable quoted prices for food and services were fair, and maintained. By providing our own wine and liquor, with Dave's help, our party was a huge success and far more reasonable and personable than any restaurant or banquet room.. Not only will I call Dave's first for any future events, but my guests indicated they would too..
Dave's Specialty catered our wedding and they did a phenomenal job! Everyone LOVED the food and the service was superb. They were super attentive - we missed the hors d'oeuvres but they saved a plate for us. A family member who is in the catering business and knows how tough it is was really impressed with the service. We contracted a separate person for the desert table and they like quadrupled our order! There were sooo many deserts, I am not exaggerating, it was like a dozen cookies per guest, not to mention cake! Dave actually ran out to get zip lock bags for us so the guest could take home goodies! He really wen above and beyond! I would hands down recommend Dave's Specialty again!
"Best wedding food we have ever had!" overheard by many guests and requests for the chef's quinoa recipe are great signs right?! The staff made our event run smoothly, eagerly assisting in any way to improve the quality of the event outcome and insure the guests were well attended to. I enjoyed working with Dave's knowing with confidence something needing to be done would not go unnoticed and would swiftly be taken care of. The attitude of this company is kindness not formality, relationships not rules mentality. Great attention to detail and fantastic food create a seamlessly run event, creating wonderful lasting memories by all. Many thanks for our successful family function.

I've been there with my friends today and we were little bit disappointed . In that cold weather we expected hot soup instead of lightly warm . The portion were served on large platters However they tiny mini ;-/ not what you expect for that (high) price Service ...so so ....
This is a newer place and we decided to give it a try. Their decor is fabulous! I wish the place was a bit bigger inside. The food was delicious and the portions were large. The prices reflect the certain higher end look and feel of the restaurant. This definitely isn't your fast food Pierogi place :)
Finally!!! Polish food that's not boring, blunt and uninspired. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but will keep coming back until I do so. If you crave some polish delicacies that don't come from buffet, or deli freezer, you must check this place out, you won't be disappointed ..... Btw, (cream of horseradish soup is a good start)

Best submarine sandwich in the northwest suburbs!
Love, love, LOVE this place! Best non-chain sandwich joint around. Fast and friendly service truly stands out. Corned beef, roast beef, and turkey subs are delicious. Bread is soft and baked fresh. A side of potato salad will also knock your socks off. The chili is fantastic on a cold day. Submarine Express, you forever have my patronage. :-)
This place is legit! The bread was a bit doughy but that could be because I got wheat instead of Italian. The oil and hot peppers are spot on. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a quick sub.

Amazing food and service! I had the bow tie alla vodka and it was incredible. The sauce tasted great and way better than your usual fast food restaurants. It's a small place and I'm surprised it's not much busier. It's definitely a hidden gem and would recommend it to anyone. They also have delicious gelato. I would recommend for dinner or lunch. Also has a our door seating area.
In the last year I've stopped in a few times opting for a nice sit down lunch during my crazy commutes between the city and burbs. I gotta say, they have really surprised my taste buds. Lately, I've been sticking with stuff that's mostly vegetarian, whether they be pastas, salads or Tostinos (grilled panini sandwiches). I really dig their roasted eggplant and portabello tostinos. When I'm in the mood for something a little different, I like to look into their display case and order randomly. So far, all good stuff.
Food is really good but underwhelming service. I get this feeling that they know their food is good and they don't have to step up their service. I've gone here a few times now and every time they are just so rude. So because of this I usually only order from here when coworkers are going to pick up. If their food weren't so good I would most certainly give them a lower rating and not order from here. They have a wide variety of food from tasty sandwiches to delicious pizza.

Chungkiwa Restaurant

1658 W Algonquin Rd
Mount Prospect, 60056
Reviews:
Chung ki wa has the best hospitality. The owner always wants to know that you are comfortable and satisfied with the food. Most of the dishes are well seasoned and ready for you to cook on your very own grill. This gives everyone the liberty to cook, their selected entrees, to the doneness of their preference. One is always greeted and served with a humble smile. Responsibly priced.
Great food! Great staff! Will most certainly come back again and recommend others..
Chungkiwa is a bit of a mixed bag for me. On one hand, the flavors are pretty spot on , everything seems to be made out of good ingredients, the dishes are presented well -- however the portions are a bit small, lacking in meat, and the prices are quite high. The dishes are also not very memorable in flavor -- satisfying but you wouldn't recognize them in a blind taste test against other local Korean restaurants. The service is relatively good, the food temperature and cooking speed is good, the dining areas are comfortable and decorated quite a bit (although I don't exactly understand the theme), the noise level isn't too high although the background music isn't Korean themed. I was served 6 banchan here, all fresh and light tasting -- a little small on portion size although we were offered refills -- nothing unusual you haven't tried elsewhere. The hot pot bibimbap had a light flavor to it with nicely crisped rice. The fried end was prominent in this dish but I wish that the sliced beef was more noticable. The lightly sauteed and seasoned vegetables did provide nice texture contrast in the dish. Jang gook bop had a good body to the broth with just the right amount of rice in the soup. Kalbi tang casserole was mixed for me -- I wish the beef had more flavor and the sesame oil was a little strong but the vermicelli in the dish did add a nice touch. Sam kyup sal - The slices of pork belly were prepared well, fatty but still having a bouncy texture to the meat and crispy edges. The taste of sesame was prominent in this dish but it worked well. Still, a bit expensive for the amount of meat you're getting. The meal ended with Lil'Drums, which appropriately matches the mixed East-West feel I got from this restaurant. Overall, it's a place I would return to for the quality of the food -- but still wish that the prices would be just a little lower.

Great Kalbi and side dishes. The fried mandu is not with usual thin flour wrap, I think it is a soy wrap that give it more elasticity and crunch - beef rather pork - and yes, I think they are home made. The lady who did everything in the restaurant is polite and friendly. Always a good sign when a lot of Koreans eat there. The location is hidden with only Korean sign visible from Elmhurst. Just turn into the shops behind chase bank if you cannot see it.
Came here for lunch. Amazing bang for the buck here on their lunch specials! I got a jap chae and it came with all the banchan that 3 of us could eat, and all the dishes were rather good. The only complaint, and probably the reason why they can keep the cost down is that there really isn't much protein in the jap chae and other dishes, so be warned: You will be full, but there's not a whole lot of meat. I'd pay a bit more to get some more meat in the dishes. I think I got out of here with around $10. I do very much enjoy the soup that comes with it.
Yookgejang here is a great price at $7.99. The soup wasn't that hearty or spicy, but it was pretty good and the side dishes were pretty good.
