Local townie bar. They all know each other so if ur new or never been around don't go in. They won't respect u unless they know u. Truly crap dingy bar
Laid back neighborhood bar with friendly service. A few televisions with sports. 4 Gaming machines available. Dimly lit but clean environment. Limited food selection to include individual pizzas. Complimentary snacks - pretzels and tortilla chips. Great drink prices.

I stopped in last minute for a cup of coffee. I was on my way to work & cutting through the Morton Grove neighborhood & came across this little gem! Was a good cup of coffee with cream! There were a couple of locals hanging around. Everyone was really friendly! There is espresso drinks with all flavors available. I saw wrapped muffins. He gave me a card to come back for a discount on my next cup of coffee. I will use it!
Nice people and good hangout for seniors but not the spot if you love good coffee. Definitely not for espresso drinks.
Sure, the owner lives across the street from me, but he makes it easy for all his customers to become regulars with friendly service and witty conversation. On your first visit to the shop, Bill will give you your first cup for $1. That includes lattes and such. I'm a cup of regular and a donut kind of guy myself. Stop in on your way to the Metra station, but don't take the last double-chocolate donut or I'll hunt you down.

- double mango- like a smoothie -chocolate banana- like a milk shake -i didn't like the little fruit balls
Avalanche Bubble tea- formally known as "Oh Bubble"- formally known as Chill Bubble Tea -always the same owner- this super nice Korean man named Jay. The drinks are amazing! Best tasting bubble teas IMO in Chicago. Better than what you get can get at the mall. I believe it is because they use a specific type of powder formula. I do know they have a gazillion flavors that you can intermix. Their chocolate peanut butter tastes like a Reese's. sooo good! You can ask for extra tapioca or none! I used to enjoy them but I read some stuff online about the production of tapioca balls and it's a huge turn off. No worries though- the drinks are still amazing without them!
I love this place! Quick and friendly service and the only place I've found that makes the milk tea just the way I like it!

Pequod’s Pizzeria

8520 Fernald Ave
Morton Grove, 60053
Reviews:
Pequod's was the first Chicago-style pizza I had upon moving here and I will admit that the first couple times, I wasn't much of a fan. I didn't know what I was getting into. My initial thoughts: too much sauce, the cheese on the crust is burned to a crisp, it's so thick, it's messy... However, what I did not realize then was that these are precisely the things that make Pequod's pizza so AMAZING! It is hands down the BEST PIZZA I have had in Chicagoland. No joke. I don't know if it is "genuine" Chicago-style and I don't care. It is delicious and that is what I care about. The restaurant itself is quaint and friendly. I began going here on occasion with a group of friends who were all introduced to Pequod's by one member of the group whose family has been going every Friday night for years. The dining room is small and does get crowded, but it is convivial. With pizza like this, how can a person not be happy to partake? I couldn't tell you the price range, but I do know they have a stellar lunch special! (At least they did 4 years ago.) A one topping personal pan pizza (about 8 inches) and a drink (soda or beer) for only $5 or $6. I dare you to find a better deal. Skip the thin crust and go straight for their specialty: the caramelized crust. Oh, god. It's so good! Sausage is my favorite topping. Mmm...satisfying. It is especially comforting to step into the warm little nook that is Pequod's on a cold and gray Chicago night to enjoy the greatest pizza you will know.
Oh, yum. This was classic. We stopped on the way from Madison, WI, to Evanston on a college tour road trip. The crust was the design element that made all the difference. Picture a pizza with a doughy interior crust, tons and tons of tasty tomato sauce and a crust that tasted a little like a piece of warm parmesan flat bread, and there you have it. I was there on a snowy Monday night, but I think the ideal time would be a late Sunday afternoon during football season.
It's a whole in the wall with great deep dish pizza at a good price. The decor has seen better days which gives it a gritty charm. Speaking of charm our waitress didn't have much, though she wasn't rude. She just kept her distance and did the minimal, but for an informal, cheap meal, that can be overlooked. They do rush you out at 2pm so it's not a place for a late lunch. The comforting, filling doughy crust with a good tomato sauce is the reason to go.

Biggies

6004 Oakton St
Morton Grove, 60053
Reviews:
The food here is much better than the cafeteria at the B&G factory.
I was starving after work so a co-worker and I went to grab a bite to eat. We went to "Biggies" located @ 6004 Oakton in Morton Grove, IL. This is a fast food place that has a pretty decent double bacon cheeseburger. Of course there were 2 burger patties on a toasted bun w/cheddar cheese & bacon. I had an everything burger with lettuce, tomatoes & onions on a toasted bun. I added Sriracha hot chili sauce. What a great way to start the day a true breakfast of champions (as long as I don't have a heart attack). It was a pretty good burger.
This was our pit stop while yardsaling today. It was very bare bones, but clean, and reasonable priced. I like that you can help yourself to free drink refills. Ordered the hot dog special (2 dogs, fries and large drink) for $6.15. Everything was hot & fresh! Will return!

Sri Siam

9253 Waukegan Rd
Morton Grove, 60053
Reviews:
In spite of living super close to this place, I've never been here until this past week, when I went for lunch. Their lunch specials are great - enough food and reasonably priced. The pad thai was just okay, but the crab rangoon and holy basil beef were delicious. I also love that they offer brown rice for a small surcharge - not all Asian restaurants do that. I would definitely come here again and try some of their other dishes.
I abandoned Sri Siam a couple years ago after a negative customer service experience. A few months ago my husband got take out from Sri Siam. When he came home he told me they had new owners but same chef - he convinced me to give it another try. Their menu is great - all the standards are there but some more unique dishes are making their way into the menu which is refreshing. Very good service - friendly staff who try to please every customer. My favorite dishes so far: noodle soup, chive dumplings, tom kha soup, noodle soup, cashew chicken, and pineapple fried rice. I have to mention noodle soup twice because it so easily overlooked but it is oh so good on a cold winter night.
WHAT A FIND! It's so easy to miss this place - I've driven past this strip mall daily for 2 years and just noticed it a few weeks ago. I'm always looking for a good Thai place in the suburbs but I've always been disappointed...until today! The pad see ewe here is perfectly seasoned, slightly peppery, a little salty, not too heavy on the soy sauce flavor. The restaurant actually lets you PICK what type of broccoli you want (regular or Chinese) which is a first for me. The yellow curry here is probably one of the best curry dishes I've had in this area. They have pretty amazing lunch specials: for ~$6.50 you get a crispy egg roll (vegetarian) - very light, not too oily, not too thick or too skinny - and if you dine in you get your choice of soup but if you get it to go you get cucumber salad. Portions are generous! Definitely at least 2 meals for me (maybe only 1 for the husband) and everything is really tasty. Unfortunately the poor lady who works here seems to be by herself? She's really sweet and friendly, but when there are more than 2-3 customers, it can take awhile to get your order in. YUM. I will be back for more :)

Maier’s Bakery

9328 Waukegan Rd
Morton Grove, 60053
Reviews:
Nothing extraordinary. All cupcakes & cake slices were covered in sprinkles....very kiddy. Probably why all were still stocked well into the afternoon. No grown-up versions, so I tried cake slice with apricot filling. Service was polite and friendly. No wow factor for me to return to. If you want run-of-the-mill, this fits your bill.
Maier's bakery is phenomenal! I was throwing a baby shower and was having difficulty finding a bakery that would create the cake I wanted at a reasonable price. I worked with Maier's and they were not only able to create a beautiful cake (and work with me on ideas), but the cake was absolutely delicious! I will not order a cake from anywhere else for future events. Everyone at the shower asked where I ordered the cake because it was so great. If you are looking for a reasonably priced bakery with great food and service - this is your place!
Their double chocolate coffee cake is good. Their other pastries are okay nothing special. I would have to say too I got a spoiled milk from there and all they said was they would credit me my dollar back, really ?? My friend also said that he got spoiled milk from here before too. How gross is that! I would not recommend to buy anything from the refrigerator from here!! It makes me wonder if the milk that is being used for the other pastries is even good. I don't know if I'll return back here since the spoiled milk I bought the other day from here. Was the first time for me to ever drink spoiled milk. It grossed me out completely!

The Great American Bagel

7184 Dempster St
Morton Grove, 60053
Reviews:
I come here rather often, but that is about to change, I'm fed up after today's visit. A bagel with some cheese sprinkled on top is now $3.49? Are you guys insane? Not worth it in the least. Everytime I come here, there is a variety of people running around, bumping into one another, everyone in a hurry, but no one actually doing anything. Today I stood in line for a good 5-10 min (and I was next to be served this whole time...no one ahead of me either). Everyone ran around in circles in addition to the manager. Finally I asked if they can help me, "yes one minute", few more minutes pass, no customers being served. I had to repeat my order a few times, the girl had no idea if she had the bagels I was asking for, all the while I stood there pointing to them. Finally she rang me up, and the total seemed high. I asked to her to re-check, she did on another cash register, entering same stuff and it came over $1 cheaper. Wth? I ask for a receipt, she goes to print one equivalent to a credit card receipt with just total due...while I was paying cash. I told her I wanted the breakdown of how much each item was, as I still thought it wasn't right. This took an intervention of 3 people. Geez. On a previous visit, I was being rung up for my lunch, and went to get an OJ to add, showed the lady, she rang it up. Out from the back comes the manager telling the girl "don't forget the OJ, she just went and got OJ". Thanks sherlock, I showed her, I wasn't trying to cheat you. I'm a regular here, think you would have noticed that. This place is awesome if you are retired folk (which majority of tables are filled with) cause they have free coffee refills and grandma's talk away for hours and hours. The bagels are meh at best. I just liked their cream cheese. I guess Dunkin is the way to go, and I wont wait 20 minutes in line!
Good. Fresh. Friendly. Angel is a great baker and great to customers.
Service is horrible. They r always messing up my order. Employees were rude and rushed things.
