You know what's rude? When you're standing at the bar, very patiently waiting for the waitress to acknowledge you anad realizing that she is tending to three other people (who arrived AFTER you) before you. To make matters worse, when we asked if we could order a drink, this waitress very meanly responded to my bf, "Yeah, can you HOLD on a minute?" She even held up her hand to his face. Oh, no, honey. Do NOT put your hand in MY bf's face when he was waiting for you to merely acknowledge us. Believe me, I was ready to leap behind that bar. I don't know her name, but she was one those stereotypical snobby, b*tchy Asian (probably Filipino) girls who thinks she's hot sh*t and too good to deal with people. Luckily, when my bf mentioned it to the manager, Kyle, he apologized and bought us drinks to rectify the situation. So that was nice. Anyway, we were there for 2 hours and the waitress we had was nice and attentive. Beware, however, that they automatically add 20% gratituty on your bill. (I must've missed that disclaimer on the menu....) Drinks and food were reasonably priced ($7 whiskey/ginger and $9 whiskey neat). The venue is really nice with lots of tv's, comfy seating, great music and very nice lanes. Great place to bowl or just hang out and watch your favorite sports game.

First time here. It is a really nice place, but really expensive! So if you have a lot of money to spend, this is the place to do so.

Alright, so I visited here on the last Saturday of February. I had called in prior to arriving because I was searching for a bowling alley with a big TV to watch the Blackhawks game while I bowled. Specifically an HDTV, but we were told they had multiple projecters, and one humongous one, behind the bar. So we gave in and visited. Sure enough they had a "humongous" projector. But, apparently you had to make reservations, which we didn't know of. Anywho, we got there around 9:00pm. The person at the front desk told us we won't get a lane till 11pm.. Let me say that again, ELEVEN PM!!! That's 2 hours after!! Anywho, I had come here with my friend in search for a low-lit place, ambient place to watch the game and we did just that. However they had given us a "light-up" pager that would flash and vibrate had a lane opened up. I opted-in. In the meantime my friend and I took a seat on the comfortable couches lined up by the bar. I was most impressed by the projector, because it really was humongous! But for some reason, it seemed very dim. What was cool, was that above the projector screen, there was a large ticker, that showed current event in sports. So it gave a sport-bar-ish feel, which was nice. What was not nice, was the service. I know that when we sat down, the bartenders and waitresses saw us come in, but still they chose not to tell us anything. Later we found out after 15 minutes of waiting for service, that you have to go up to the bar to order!!! (At least it killed some time to the 2 hour long wait for a lane!! haha) Anyways, we ordered some drinks. They have few beers on tap, (about 5-7), including Guinness,, Budlight, Miller Light, some others I can't remember. They had a bunch of domestic bottled beers. And they had a large menu of mixed drinks, for the ladies. I ordered a beer, while she ordered a mixed drink. We then made our way to the food menu. We had ordered some Tacos, some Fries (special type) and some Artichoke-type dip. The food was alright, I mean, its a bowling alley, I wouldn't expect much (3 out of 5 stars). It hit the spot, we had the munchies so anything is good! Any ways, halfway through our meal the Pager rang and we reserved a lane. The lanes were nice. Each accompanied with comfy sofas. And each lane already had various bowling balls. Saved me the trip! The music playing that Saturday night was mainly electronic music. Dubstep/House to be exact. The likes of some Calvin Harris and Skrillex and Avicii-like tunes. The waitresses still weren't that attentive. You had to grab their attention. They wouldn't come ask you if you'd like anything. Which I thought was odd, and not very helpful. Even when I did get the beer, they told me I'd have to go get the beers from the bar, they wouldn't bring it to the lanes. (even though people were allowed to drink by it) So all in all, I enjoyed the atmosphere and feel of the place. It was mostly dark with accents of red and blue lighting. The lanes were separated by curtains, so it gave your booth/lane some privacy and helped you concentrate while bowling. I could care less about the service of the bartenders/waitresses though. More so the waitresses... because the bartenders did their job right. So because of the poor attentiveness of the waitresses, I have to drop my rating to 3 stars. So for new visitors keep these things in mind: 1) Call in ahead of time and reserve a lane 2) Get ready to spend over $22 (for 2 or more people playing) 3) You rather get your drinks and food on your own OR come stuffed to the alley 4) Emphasize on point number 3 ---------- Short version of my review ------------- - Waiting time sucks when you don't make a reservation. - The place is low-lit, ambient and chilled-out looking. There are many booths, sofas and tables to choose from. - Great place to come watch a sporting event, there's a humongous projector behind the bar and smaller projectors in between each bowling lane. - They have an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to choose from, especially in the mixed drinks menu and the bottled beer menu - You can care less about the waitresses, they really don't care to help you at all. - The food is tasty if you have the hunger for it, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it - If you're not an electronic music fan, you may not enjoy Saturday nights Oh yeah and they have billiard/pool tables too.

Love this place. We have my daughters birthday here every year. It's fun for the kids and the adults. The food is very high quality for a bowling alley and the atmosphere is upscale and comfortable. Be warned there are a ton of up charges for a party, expect to pay double what they initially quote you for set up fees and then fees on the fees. If your looking for an affordable party-- this IS NOT the place to go. I gave it 5 stars because at the end of the day, we keep going back because it's fun, high quality and everyone enjoys it. I go knowing it's going to cost a fortune so it doesn't bother me. If you want budget bowling go somewhere else. What other bowling alley offers high end Caesar salad, mini sliders w/bacon, fancy drinks - your chilling on the couch watching the kids bowl like your in your own private lounge??Now this isn't the place to go for league night but if your looking for something nicer than the average then I recommend it. But be warned you will be charged for it. The cost is CRAZY high but everyone has fun so I feel like it's something I'm willing to pay. The service has always been good to us and we've been multiple times. The manager and our server was extremely helpful and followed up throughout our party. 5 stars- with a 5 star price.

The service is so bad it overshadows anything good about this place. Only one waitress fir the entire place so you are forced to walk to the bar for a drink and wait 15 minutes each time for the bartender to catch up with everyone waiting and the place wasnt even busy. The worst part is they aren't short staffed but most employees are sitting around and not working, very frustrating! The lanes are fine and I could see this place being fun if it was run better. I would have liked to ordered food but didn't have the opportunity. Save your money and go to Brunswick!

After viewing a few of the other reviews, I will agree that it is a bit expensive but if you don't like it...DON'T GO! I loved this place and would rather keep it my own little secret hangout! The food was decent. It is your typical "munch while you drink and bowl" food, with some outstanding dipping sauces! I didn't go there expecting a gourmet meal, but what really made our day was the service! Our server Langan (sorry if i spelled it wrong) and our busser Julian really made our experience that much more incredible. Kudos to the manager on duty, Andrea, for running such a wonderful shift. I don't care how good or bad the food is in an establishment, if the service is bad, the whole night is ruined. The service Langan and Julian gave us, really made our night that much more special. Thank you very much and great job! The environment is very laid back and comfortable. Comfy couches instead of hard plastic seats make you feel at home. Beautiful bar and excellent service. Definitely going back.

Well the bowling lanes have zero oil. So have fun with any ball that hooks. I would not recommend this alley to anyone of skill

I don't go to LS to bowl (don't like to bowl) my coworkers and I go there for a couple drinks occasionally after work (we work in the mall). Andrea and Melanie are fantastic. I think Andrea is a manager and Melanie is one of the bartenders. We've been there several times over the past year and every time we have a great time. The food is a bit pricey for bar food but we don't go for the food either. lol. But is this a great place to watch "the game" as it has 3 large screen tvs and multiple smaller tvs (big tvs over every lane as well). This has become my new favorite bar! You have the option of bowling, playing billiards, or occasionally bags (aka cornhole). They have some really nice couches and tables near the main bar (there's a secondary bar by the pool tables) and there's a whole separate area next to the main bar that's a large room of couches and tables great for lounging around in privacy. Under 21 is allowed before 9:30.

Went to Lucky Strike after being turned away from Pinstripes in Oakbrook. The bowling alley was really dark, but they did have projectors showing all the football games at the end of the lanes. I am strange in that I own a ball and shoes. I still suck at bowling, but I never have to pay for shoes. Everyone always assumes I am good which is laughable because I average about a 120. I like the style of this alley. It isn't your usualy alley that is full of fat smelly old guys and high school kids. They have couches and servers who come to your lane. It is more of a club vibe/experience with bowling that occurs simultaneously. We had a fun time until we realized how tiring bowling on a full stomach really is. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for something to do on a rainy/snowy day.

I will keep this review quick and simple. If you have a ton of cash burning a hole in your pocket and like average food within a now standard disco bowling environment, you have found your heaven on earth! Lucky Strike is numbingly expensive. We have been here twice and will not be back. Two games for two kids and an adult was more than $50 and dinner for six was $75 without any drinks. I am getting ill typing this review it was so expensive. Live and learn. I am at a loss to why anyone would drive to the mall for a mediocre experience requiring this much cash, especially with so many other options available elsewhere. We visited the Tuesday night prior to Thanksgiving and while other restaurants were busy, we were one of three small groups there. So, heed our warning, avoid. Unless you just won the lottery!

I was SO impressed with this place! It's not yo' mama's retro bowling alley. It's a 'pimped' bowling alley complete with rainbow lights streaming up and down the lanes, cool light fixtures, comfy, cushy SOFA seating on all the lanes, electronic scoring, BIG---no, GIGANTIC screen TV over the bar with multi-sports channels running....I mean, its an orgasm for the senses! And OH, I forgot....cool, dance tunes rockin' at a CONVERSATIONAL level, pool tables AND a dance floor! My son took me here for a quick drink on a last minute whim. (I was thinking, 'bowling alley'? I'm a little overdressed for this scene) But I felt totally appropriate in the midst of the decor and atmosphere. We arrived about 11pm, low crowd but energetic atmosphere. Just what I was looking for. We didn't try the food but people seemed to be enjoying a variety of better than bar food appetizers. The drink prices were really reasonable, yet the bowling might be a little more expensive than you're used to. But I think given the 'setting', the higher prices are worth what you get in sexy, bowling ambiance. :-)

Had a great time here, everything was surprisingly good! The service was awesome first of all...had a really nice waitress who was extremely helpful with drink/menu info. Everything we ate was so good! I'd come back just for dinner if there were no lanes available. Had a huge salad and the jerk chicken app. Also enjoyed the Mac n cheese bites and pretzel stick things. Bowling was great and music was good. A little pricey but really a good time!

So this location is really weird in the York Town Mall across from Marshall's. The bartender made really good Mai Tai's, the staff were very nice except for the girl at the front desk, she had a funky attitude, did not greet me nor acknowledged me when I walked in even though she glanced at me and continued to talk with her co-worker. Other than that I had a great time at my friends B-day party tipsy bowling, WAY more fun! They also have some app that's connected to the place where you can choose which song you want to hear playing in the whole bowling alley, I thought that was really cool.

There were so many positives about this that I feel bad for giving them just three stars; however, I think what Lucky Strike lacked really ended up hurting the overall experience. My friend booked my 25th Birthday Bash here. I would have been content to just go to a smaller bowling alley, but when she brought me to make the final payment I was quite impressed. It oozed sexy and the managers were super friendly. While our paperwork was being done they gave us complimentary drinks and chatted with us. I was so excited! We went with the $39.95/person party package which included pizza, chicken skewers, battered chicken nuggets and an array of sauces, spinach dip with chips, cookies and unlimited soft drinks. I thought it was a bit pricey, but a good deal for two hours of bowling and food. Only complaint about service was that the food was taken away at the end and no one asked if we wanted any of it boxed up. There was a good amount left, too. Kind of annoying, but no big deal. So what's the problem? With a dozen people we were given two lanes for bowling. That in itself isn't a huge deal, but the couches were so crammed together that there was just enough room for your legs. Every time someone needed to bowl they either had to go around through the seating area for the two lanes to our left or right, or the people sitting down had to stand up. Even when you stood it was a squeeze. Half the time everyone had to get up and move out of the seats or you had to crawl over everyone. Once parties took over the lanes next to us there was just no other way than to molest your fellow bowler as you tried to make it to the front. We could have easily bowled at least two games, probably even three in two whole hours. We made it through one game and three frames before they shut it down and time was up. With that said, I love the concept, but I would not come back unless I have a very small group of people. The lanes are just not built well for large groups that actually want to spend most of the time bowling and not just eating or climbing on top of other players.

Went there with a large group of adults and kids on a Sunday night. The place was DEAD and despite that, the service was absolutely horrendous!! Spoke to the manager on several occasions (young guy/mid-20's) who was less than helpful and comped some chicken bites (Whoa!!) Went to the bar on our own several times to get our own drinks (it was WAY faster), bowling lanes/screens kept turning off, poor poor customer service!! Sad because the food was decent, but will NOT return!!

I didn't eat here. I bowled and I drank. It isn't great value. I feel like go are partially paying for the name, but with the name, you at least know you won't be getting a dump. This is not a dump but I'm not sure it is worth 3 bucks a game plus shoes either. They have a great selection of bowling balls and enough space to enjoy yourself. The beer list is a bit weak, coming from a beer snob, but I suppose sufficient. It could be worse. They have a huge selection of mixed drinks but seeing as that isn't my thing, I didn't partake. Overall it is an ok spot for bowling but nothing about it stands out to me.

Never again... First visit (a Saturday night): -- Our lane kept messing up due to computer glitches. It took 3 hours to bowl one game after an hour of waiting for a lane. We kept hailing staff, but found out that many of them were "managers". One such manager informed us that each person could only bowl twice per turn. It seemed difficult to get the message across that we knew how to bowl and that the scoring system was messing up our lane. -- Paid about $8 for guacamole that wasn't nearly enough to justify the price. -- The women's bathroom was an explosion and it wasn't cleaned once while we were at the place. -- Luckily, I found a coupon for shoe rental that covered multiple people, but the cost for 1 bowling game was over $10 per person. The 2-times-per-turn manager gave us $200-valued certificate for a 8 people and 2 hours of bowling (with food included) to come back within a month as amends. I didn't really want to come back. I just wanted a refund for the terrible gaming experience. We accepted the certificate anyway, as that was the right thing to do. Second visit (a Sunday afternoon): -- We were assigned a lane next to the largest and loudest children's party I've ever seen at a bowling alley. As such, all the low-weight balls were taken. -- We were given a hot plate of mac n' cheese heart-shaped fried appetizers with a marinara sauce. Friends did not like that dish. We were given a bowl of salsa, which was a paltry size for our party of 6 people. -- Drink orders were mixed up with no explanation of type. For example, alcoholic drinks were brought in same glasses as water, so it was difficult to distinguish for the non-alcohol drinkers. We were given a rum and sprite instead of the ordered rum and coke. -- Bathroom still a disaster. -- Unable to finish the second game of bowling, as the system abruptly froze stating that our time limit was up and that we could consult them about starting it again. We elected to pass on that option. This is upscale bowling? I don't think so. Everything is outrageously overpriced and low quality.

I went to place a take out order on Friday. There were a few people at the bar. I placed my order and the bar tender never came back. I flagged her over a number of times so I could pay my bill, run some errands, and come back to pick up my food. No dice. Worst service I have had in a very long time. I will not be going back despite the convenience. Awful awful awful.

Not a huge bowler, but this was a new experience Kind of a lounge feel, laid back but a different type of patrons. Bowling was bowling, but the drinks and atmosphere was fun.

I went here for a birthday party Saturday night. Although we had a good time among friends, I would not recommend this bowling alley for large groups, even if you have a reservation like we did. It was pretty expensive ($15/bowl $4/shoes $7-11/appetizers $5 beer) which I am ok with if everything else runs perfectly, but it did not. Firstly we were overcrowded in the two lanes we were given for 16 people. It was hard to move around to even get up to bowl. Combine that with the fact that we were also chatting, etc, so we did not go as fast as we could. 8 people per lane with less than 2 hours to bowl meant we only got in about 1.1 games. Also the little clock timer up on the screen made me feel rushed. Secondly, our waitress was not competent. I understand that it is hard to serve a large party, but she actually told one of my friends that she could not handle anymore tabs coming at different times. I went to the bar and ordered food and drinks from there so I did not have to deal with it. The bar tender was very fast and efficient. The best part of the night was that my tab actually got lost and the manager said not to worry about it. (If only we had put our entire bill on the tab!) Despite the fact that our waitress said she could not handle the tabs, the bussers/kitchen was great. I had the pretzels with a trio of dip, and the pretzel sticks were nice and fluffy and hot when they came to the table. One of my friends had the trio of goat cheese truffle mini burgers which were very good. The mac and cheese bites were also a fun appetizer to try. The bussers were great at bringing the food, clearing away plates and drinks quickly. This place looks great, and could be the perfect spot for cool twist on a typical bowling party, but it is just missing some key aspects. If you choose to go and make a reservation, I would ask that they put all of your names in beforehand so that time is not counted against your group's two hours. Also ask if you can only have at most 5 people per lane.

We went here on a Sat night to celebrate a family member's birthday. After spending over $300 on bowling and over $200 on food, they turned our lanes off in the 7th frame because we had gone over our 2 hour reserved time! I spoke with the front desk and they said another group had those lanes reserved, so they were kicking us off. I talked to the manager and he gave us 10 more minutes to finish our games. They shut it off again and we moved to the table area to quickly sing happy birthday. 20 minutes later, gathering up our kids and coats, no one had cleaned up our area and no other group was waiting to bowl! The food was great but I'd rather save my money and bowl somewhere where we aren't rushed. We won't be back. $55 per hour per lane is ridiculous!

I came here with a group of friends a while, back and it was a blast. Do make reservations ahead of time and do be prepared to spend a little money. This is a classier bowling alley that does have a dress code to follow. Basically, no hats, no holey jeans, etc. If you go, it is much more cost efficient to go in a bigger group than to go alone. It is nice because you do have a personal waitress that comes around to your lanes for drinks and food. The food and drinks were priced just right. Each lane as a table and long couches to sit at which makes it very welcoming. But, it did make it hard to talk amongst one another and to get up when it was your turn to bowl. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd go back again.

  • Greg W.

I really liked the food here, even though it's pretty expensive. I would come for that. We had to wait two hours to bowl since the lanes were full which was fine as we had dinner. However, it cost my wife and I $25 dollars to bowl one game. ONE GAME! That absolutely ridiculous. When we finished we asked if we could bowl another and they said no and if we wanted to bowl again we would have to go to the end of the line again (another two hours). You can't make reservations here unless you have a "party" according to the front desk girl. come for some grub, but stay at home and bowl on the wii, it's a much better experience.

The main problem I have with this place is that its extremely expensive and they charge tax at the bar which makes no sense. The lounge by the bar is nice and I like that its an adult bowling alley since its annoying dealing with kids when your drinking. The wait is so long for the lanes though so if you go just stay by the bar but brong double the amount of money you would bring at any other bar

This place is WAY over priced! The bowling ridiculously expensive..The food is absolutely awful..and so over priced that I actually laughed out loud when I saw my bill. The $12 nachos had about 3 tiny pieces of chicken...90% of my chips were completely dry..with NOTHING on them! My $6 fries were completely raw. The place itself was pretty nice..and the servers were all very pleasant..but there is no justifying those prices.

We had a company event at Lucky Strike, and that is the only reason that I know this place exists. On a Tuesday evening, it wasn't busy and the servers were attentive. There were two other bowling parties that evening, and they appeared to be highly skilled and focused players. If you are bowler in the burbs, this is probably a good to exercise your skill set. Because I am not, I probably won't return, but had a fine experience with my co-workers.

Last night we had my company's annual bowling party at Lucky Strike. Every year if each employee raises $100 towards charity doing various company organized events then you get to participate in the bowing party at the end of the year. This year we had 72 bowlers, and this is the first year we had the party at Lucky Strike. This place is great! The atmosphere was cool, and the food was good. The servers were attentive and the food was constantly being replenished as it was eaten. Hopefully we will be back again next year!!

Enjoyable, classy fun. Now, we came on a Wednesday night, although I imagine they were busier than usual considering it was Dec 30 and a lot of people are now off today, New Years Eve. But on a weeknight, at least, the prices for bowling are fairly reasonable - 4.95 per bowling game, 3.95 for shoes. We had a friend from NYC along and she said "so cheap!!" So we got our lane and our games -- minor bit of awkwardness when we had to shoo away the people sitting on "our" couch -- and looked over the menu. Because this isn't your typical bowling alley; it's got a great upscale vibe (but still fun, not snooty, and still a bit loud) with modern decor, great lighting and great loungy couches all over. Our waitress was friendly and not at all pesky (hey, we're trying to get our bowl on here) and was available whenever we needed her. The food, honestly, was pretty delicious. We ordered cheese fries, nachos, Key West chicken skewers and tomato-n-cheese "s'mores" to split among the four of us, plus a couple beers (them) and a glass of wine (me). The fries and nachos were slathered in a delicious artery-hardening cheese sauces, with nice seasoning on the fries and a scatter of tomatoes and some zippy salsa with the nachos. The "s'mores" were like little caprese toasties, with crunchy bread rounds, ripe tomato, melty mozzarella and fresh basil. Yummy. And the Key West skewers seemed to be the biggest hit of the night -- they had a flavorful seasoning enhanced by both the squeeze of lime juice and the sweet chili dipping sauce. A quick note on drinks: the beer enjoyed by my party was said to be quite tasty. My pinot grigio (selected because they 'didn't have' the riesling and I hate chardonnay) had no real body to it at all. But, it got the job done I guess. They have quite a selection of cocktails as well. The bowling itself, well, it was bowling! There are no cute animations between frames, but the lanes are well-maintained, there's some fun blacklighting for the neon balls, and a good time was had by all. One thing I noticed and found interesting was the fairly large proportion of kids around. Seeing as it's a loungey atmosphere I wouldn't have expected that. I guess it's 18+ after 9 on weeknights, 21+ after 9 on weekends, but we were only there till 8:30 or so, and saw a fair number of families. I guess if your kids like to bowl, great, but it just seemed a bit incongruous with the atmosphere. All in all, you wouldn't expect this inside a suburban mall, and I'm glad we tried it out. It would be a fun place to come for a bite to eat, a drink, or another round of bowling with friends.

I'll make this quick. Good atmosphere to bowl, that's all. I went there last Friday for my Birthday with 10 family members, 2 who were 13 yrs old. First, it was $45/hour to bowl plus $4 for shoes, so for 2 hours to bowl and shoes were $127 before we even ate or drank. 2 hours later, after some appetizers (which were sent back for being cold), and some overpriced drinks, we ended up forking out another $291,,,,, Now, for $300, I'd expect to be puking drunk. We left there kicking ourselves. Also, if you have a large party, don't expect to finish your bowling game, since they turn it off right at the 2 hour limit. You also have to share a small half table with other bowlers sitting right across from you since the lanes are so close togeather. The staff and waitress's were actually very nice and attentive, so I can't complain about that. But, I will never be returning here for some time, if ever, there's too many other places to enjoy ourselves for a cheaper price.

Lucky Strike is a fun atmosphere and the food and drinks are good. That being said, they make it very hard for me to leave a good review. First off, they make it ridiculously difficult to make a reservation in advance for bowling. They email you a 'contract' where you have to sign your life away and agree to their charges. Along with that you have to give them a credit card for a deposit. Ok, that's fine but you cannot fill out the form online, you have to print it and fax back or scan it. That can be difficult if you don't own one of these devices or you are out of printer ink, etc. and they can't take a credit card over the phone. So we went, sans reservations. The young lady that we checked in with for dinner was hardly welcoming. We got there early because we didn't have reservations and wanted to make sure things went smoothly but it was all just weird. The hostess didn't have a clue what to do because the whole party wasn't there yet. Holding a table for 20 minutes is obviously not one of the courtesies they usually afford their customers. After that we checked about getting a lane after dinner. Well those are on a first come first served basis. Understandable, but if someone is already there spending money in the restaurant, can you not hold a lane? Or come up with a solution so that people can go right from dining to bowling. They were not busy when we got there but were likely to as it was a Friday night. If we had to wait longer than 30 minutes in between dinner and bowling we would have left, fortunately we didn't. When the hostess sat us for dinner and it took quite a while for a server to greet us and ask if we wanted drinks or appetizers, I forgave her that because she is the only person we had a good experience with. When she did come, we didn't have any menus to order from because the hostess forgot to leave them, fail. Like I said the food and drinks are good but ridiculously expensive. $300 is a bit much for bowling alley food and we mostly ordered appetizers. The bowling area is very nice but the lanes are $55 an hour per lane plus fees for shoe rental. At those prices you would think they could throw in the shoe rental. We have not hemorrhaged money like that since our last visit to Disney, but at least at Disney the employees are more than accommodating and ridiculously friendly. Not the case at Lucky Strike.

Well. This is a tough one for me. As a whole, I did enjoy my visit here. I am not a bowler at all (went to a gathering there). If you don't bowl, then you could either play pool or watch games on the big screen TVs. The atmosphere was nice. The food was not cheap by any means but was very good. The nachos, onion rings, & some of the party specific items were well done. I didn't bring my cue that evening so I just decided to enjoy the games on TV. This isn't a place I could go to weekly (based on price alone) but an every now & then stop at the very least is what I would do. Some things you need to know: 1. 21 & over after 9: PM Friday & Saturday. While I do appreciate that they want to cater to adults (believe me, it's a great thing). I would say move it up an hour (say 10 or 11:PM). You may have some people in the younger demographic (in particular those 18-20) another hour to enjoy themselves. 2. This is not Gala West (no offense to the good people there). Dress code is pretty strictly enforced- no white T-shirts, MC Colors (of ANY sort), athletic wear including team jerseys (not in your home market). To me, there could be some grey areas as it relates to this. I'll give it 3 1/2 starts. This would be good for a party or special event. There were a few events the evening I went. I appreciate the intent to create the upscale bowing concept but it might be a bit much for me. I still did enjoy myself.

WOW! I was very hesitant and nervous to say the least. We had my son and daughter-in-laws rehersal at this location in Lombard. Lots of out of town guest and family. I have read some of the reviews on staff and they were not great. I talked to Erin Seal one of the Managers, she assured me they would have 2 managers and a serving staff for our 40 to 50 guest. I want to be sure everyone was being served and taken care of. I was very impressed and extremely satisfied. We had great-grandparents to teen-aged adults at this event. Everyone LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!!!. Something for everyone, Bowling, Pool, Food, Drinks. Well Worth the Money. They were awesome, wonderful on top of their game. I was so happy and pleased of all they have done for us. great food, customer service, special request was outstanding. Thanks to all the Manager and their staff . I cant say enough, We will be back. We went to Lucky Strikes for a relatives birthday party gathering. Although the atmosphere was on the cool side, the dining portion left something to be desired. We had a large party, about 20 guests, and the waitresses could not figure out the orders and took about 30 minutes after dinner to finally get the checks taken care of. My bro in law got his appetizer AFTER his meal was delivered. The menu was very confusing as well. Unclear as to appetizers via entree items. They just need to make sure that the waitresses can handle big groups with confidence and experience. Afterwards the party moved to the bowling area and finally we really got to relax and enjoy the rest of the night.

Sunday, March 30th, 2003. My bestie, Alicia B, takes me out for my B-Day and we are ready to rock the alley like the cats we are. I ended up bowling the best game of my life, missing only 3 pins the entire time. I was a turkey bowlin' sunuvagun and Big Ern had nothin' on me. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we took the crusty ole bowling shoes... ya know, as commemoratives. Whatever, we were young, lucky, and fresh off the buzz off a great game. Can you blame us? Now, flash forward to present day, 2010. It's my B-Day again and Alicia B, (still my bestie) is taking me for some bowling fun at Lucky Strike. When we first walked in I was sort of in awe of the place. I'd never been in a bowling alley that nice or clean before. I was pretty pumped. Then I saw that Leesh had surprised me even further by having both our BFs there and waiting to get their bowl on. It was such a fun surprise and something I'd always wanted on a B-Day (I'd been begging for a surprise party since I was a little kid). This surprise party was intimate and perfect... until I got to bowling and realized that in my old age, I'd lost "the touch" and now just plain sucked at bowling... but I'm blaming it on ball selection here. Almost all balls were 12-14 lbs and that's just WAY too heavy for me. I don't weigh that much so for me to be manhandling 13 lbs is quite the task... and all the 9 and 10 lb balls they had, had little, teeny, tiny, minuscule finger holes... boo. Those balls ruined my game. I liked the cute bar and couches next to the lanes, though the drinks were the smallest vodka sodas EVER and the server jokingly pulled the "no, we don't have water" schtick... but then didn't ever bring water- not funny to a thirsty gal such as myself, who had taken down quite a bit of champers pre-game. No worries though, our gentlemen callers went up to the bar to get it for us. I think we all had a great time bowling till we got thumb blisters, having a few drinks, and posing with the too big balls for photos that will ensure none of us can ever run for office. I would go back with friends for a special occasion, but I haven't been converted away the regular old dive-y alleys either. Plus, we were all pretty disappointed that the screens don't have animations when you bowl fun stuff like turkeys. Bring me some turkey graphics and I'll take into consideration adding an extra star. ;) ***No bowling shoes were harmed or stolen during the reviewing of Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge.

Went to Lucky Strike because a friend "won" a birthday party here. Of the food that was supposed to be included, they "ran out" of half the items, including the only thing the birthday boy could eat due to food allergies. When I tried to talk nicely to our server about it, the guy was really rude. So I asked to speak to the manager, who never came. I went up to the bar to talk to the manager, and waited and waited until giving up. I won't be spending my money here ever again.

Played a little pool here over the weekend at $14/hour. Average for pool. I love the decor. It's very upscale and has a loungy feeling to it. I've bowled here before as well and that's a tad pricey for my likings but once in a while is ok. The food is good, again, pricey. The waitress took a while to come to us, actually I had to get her. There are definetly other alternatives to bowl and play pool.

As far as bowling alleys go, this place isn't bad. They have a lunch time promotion where you can bowl a game, rent shoes, and get an entree and a drink for around $10 -- I'm not sure if that's still going on. The food is definitely a step above the fare you'd expect to get. Order the pizza and you will actually get your own personal pizza that's big enough to share, and it's fresh and very cheesy. Once I came here and got put in a lane between two kids' birthday parties while all the other lanes were open. One of the staff could see I wasn't happy and corrected the problem. The service is usually pretty attentive and quick. The furniture and layout is very low to the ground and a tiny bit cramped, so if you have trouble moving around or sitting in low seats, this is something to consider. If you have kids or people with special needs in your life, this place is definitely a great spot to come during off-hours, for the aforementioned lunch special and serene atmosphere.

Very nice high-end bowling "destination". I call it a destination because it's much more than a bowling alley - nice restaurant and bar, very nice pool tables, top notch lanes. The prices are top notch as well, so be ready to lay out more here than you do at most bowling alleys. Only three stars because it's expensive.

Overpriced? Yes. Snobby teenagers with apathetic attitudes running the place? Yes. A decent place to bowl? Yes, if you're desperate. Managers: Please inform your apathetic tween workers that although they would rather be discussing Channing Tatum's ridiculous abs (OMG!), delivering satisfactory customer service is their job. We didn't really appreciate the attitude and sneers that we received on Saturday from the two girls working the front. Fortunately, my teenage nephew was with us, so I had to bite my tongue and display a fake smile. Yes, we know it sucks that you have to give people ugly bowling shoes for 4 hours a day. I'm sorry honey, but you gotta start somewhere!!!

Maybe I'm just not used to life in the suburbs, but thought this was a cool spot with pretty affordable prices. We did the "9 for $9" lunch deal (weekdays between 12-2pm) which includes an entree, one game and shoe rental...what a deal! The place was pretty empty (granted it was the day before Christmas Eve) so we got a lane right away. We got the cheese pizza, Caesar salad and mac and cheese bites. They were okay - nothing to write home about, but they kept us full. The guy who gave us the shoes set up the screen for us with our names so we didn't have to tinker with any buttons. It was easy finding bowling balls light enough for us. The seating area in our lane was a little cramped but it was okay since there was no one in the lane next to us. With regard to the game itself, everything ran smoothly. Though we did not come during the "prime" time, which I presume to be the evening (very loungey/sleek looking) we still had a good experience. I would recommend Lucky Strike's lunchtime special for the great value.

The Lucky Strike business model is an awesome one which lost direction over the years. When Lucky Strike first opened, I worked in the mall. Company meetings were made very cool here. It was the chic and hip place to hang out, they had live dj's the screens over the lanes displayed local works of art, and the music was always bumpin. Dim lit, like bowling alley meets night club meets hipster bar. They have lost points over time due to lack of maintenance, operational management going south, service deteriorating and over all cost to value ratio. Newer group hang out alternatives like Top Golf have Lucky Strike showing it's age.. Unless they bring in some new changes and revamp the service instead of just short skirt servers, they might have a place in Lombard for longer than I feel they will. Good for hosting private parties for overpaid bachelors who want to bring in girls caked in make up.. I totally just made that up but really paints a picture doesn't it. I live very close to this place to want to go there and pay the same amount for a dinner, movie, and bowling at Brunswick!...

Nice bowling alley BUT REALLY expensive. They did away with the red pen parties which gave u the opportunity to win a free PARTY so now it's all about expensive food & drinks. Tip: Tuesday night is $2/game

Bowling + Food (Not Typical Bowling Food) + Bar + Atmosphere While overpriced, it is a fun diversion every now and then. The food is decent by restaurant standards, and exceptional by bowling alley standards. The atmosphere is fun and upscale, and the service attentive; at least during the non-peak hours. It is fun for kids and families earlier on, but "adults only" at night. I did notice on our last outing that the lanes are not level, which I guess could be a downer for serious bowlers.

Awesome place! Loved it! Computerized bowling is great... loved the giant monitors. Although I wish someone would've explained the red pin thing. There isn't much walking room in between the couches. The tables in between are too big limiting walking through without tripping over people. The service was great. We tried the cheese pizza and tomato & mozzarella s'mores (basically little caprese sandwiches) and they were both marvelous. I'll definitely be back!

This is a place for people who think they are too good to be seen at a regular bowling alley. too expensive for a lousy sport and the food is not that great. If you want a loung setting there are other alternatives. if you want a bowling setting there are other alternatives. These two do not mix well

Holy Cow, talk about empty for lunch. If you want to go to a place where you're guaranteed not to wait, try Lucky Strike Lanes for lunch on a Tuesday. My good friend Carlos said it best, replica of the Lucky Strike downtown, just smaller. I had the Chinese Salad and it was pretty good. I'll go back sometime soon.

Upon arrival, we were told it would be two hours wait to get a lane...so we decided to sit down with our party of 11 and eat while we waited. It took about 15 minutes of sitting and two requests of other waiters walking by to get a server to apporach us. After getting our drinks and food, and one more stop to see how we were doing, the server disappeared without explanation and never returned (including bringing the additional rounds of drinks we ordered). We tried numerous times to find out where he was only to be informed that he had to leave for personal reasons (having not handed us off to another server or anyone having come to explain to us what was going on). Every employee that walked by who we tried to get answers from seemed to want to pass the buck to someone else and walk away unwilling to help us. Finally (2 hours and $300 later on food and drinks) we were given a lane to bowl on. In the third frame, having just settled in and began to wave off the terrible service so far, without warning our lane suddenly went dark (in the middle of someone throwing a ball down the lane). We looked around stunned trying to figure out what was going on. A few minutes later a staff member came and carelessly informed us that we had to switch lanes as our lane had been reserved by another party. What? Seriously...after a 2 hour wait, dropping $300 and crappy service now we have to pick up our balls, coats and shoes and saunder across the entire bowling alley to another lane? I could go on ad on and on about what happened after that, but let's just say that none of the nose-ring wearing, crazy-haired tatooed tweenies that worked there seemed to care about their jobs, or how much money we had dropped for a ridiculously lousy time we had. When we complained on the way out, they seemed VERY disinterested in the problems we incurred, and were once again pointing figers at each other about who to present our complaints to. We finally reached a manager on the phone who could only muster "sorry that happened...what else do you want me to say?" He promised to check into what happened and give us a call back...the call never came (proving that the clueless employees are being lead by a less than caring manager as well). So, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM A BUNCH OF ENTITLED KIDS WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR JOBS....and our group probably dropped over $500 i this crap hole. Brunzwich Zone has ALOT better service for about half the cost, and you will never see me or my friend darken this apathetic places door again.

Do you love being part of 'The In Crowd' but you hate feeling plastic and snobby? Well, Lucky Strike has a cure for you! When I rolled into this place, I saw all of the 'cool kids' prancing about with their 'how do you do' noses stuck on the ceiling, but I also saw all of the down to earth peeps mingling in the same jungle. I was shocked at first and then realized that I was home at last! The atmosphere of Lucky Strike Lounge of Lombard is amazing - high energy, high society and classy with an over-the-top dousing of cheeky and cool that's doesn't leave you shuddering and saying to yourself 'why the hell am I here?' But this isn't where just the 'cool kids' own the night, it's where anyone does! Ok, so I found one drawback, there is a strict dress code: - No Sweats or Sports Jerseys - No MC Colors - No Sleeveless or Excessively Baggy T-Shirts - No Construction Boots - No Headgear - No Excessively Baggy Clothing It's understandable that they want to protect such an extravagant funhouse from hooligans and thugs, because seriously, who wants to be 'that guy who got shot at a bowling alley' - Seriously! There's a few security guards running the door and enforcing the law (dress code) and checking ID's, but they're actually pretty cool, a lot better than a lot of the wannabes I run into at most night clubs. Alright, so you like throwing a sphere at 10 harmless innocent pins? They've got 18 amazing lanes to satisfy your need to lace up your hottest pair of bowling shoe rentals and stick your fingers into a few holes. They've got flat screens above the foul line in every lane with a very flashy presentation of score! At the end of the lanes, they've got projectors illuminating white screens with a grip of nonsensical nuisance that'll appease your eyes (and every now and then they'll throw in a clip of a great movie here and there - Kingpin was very fitting!) What's that? You're not a shoe person? Well how about grabbing a long hard stick and hitting some balls around on a felt plain? There's 3 pool tables for all of you pool sharks to chalk your tips and put some balls in your pocket. There's two bars, countless screens where they have the history channel running (or a ball game if one is on) and ESPN, they've got an awesome LED score ticker running above all of the screens at the main bar. Did I mention what the lovely ladies of Lucky Strike sport? I have a horrible fetish for knee high boots and short skirts - was I in trouble when I walked through doors here. The girls are beautiful, and the service is amazing. The rest of the staff is just as excellent, the managers are extremely pleasant and friendly and even tbe bus boys are helpful (no, like really helpful, they'll actually get you something if you ask them). There's a Dj booth in the middle of the whole place just behind the bowling lanes in front of the main bar, they had a couple of cute girls mixing up the music the last evening I was there (it was a mockery to Dj'ing, but they were having fun doing it and it showed, so I at least respect their effort). Lucky Strike of Lombard is decked out with couches EVERYWHERE! While you wait for others to bowl in your lane, kick it on the couch! There's no hard plastic seats or benches to place your tooshy on - your rump receives royal regal treatment on a soft couch! Makes an evening of bowling and drinking pretty interesting too =) Hungry? But you're in the middle of your game and you don't want stop sporting your fancy rental kicks! Not a problem, they serve you food AT THE LANE! There's a table between every pair of couches per 2 lanes so you can partake in some sustenance while you continue your domination of upright painted phallic wood. Grease up your fingers with their excellent food, then grease up your balls throw on the hardwood! By now, you've got to have worked up an appetite right? Well then, you're still at the right place! So if you don't want to put on a footwear fashion show or handle a hard stick, they've got plenty of space to partake in a fine dining experience. They've got an awesome assortment of food that is unbelievable. Food was thrown in my face and it was one step away from being shoveled directly into my mouth directly, but it was all so D-LISH! My group ordered a boat load of everything and then we just went to town on the ridiculous amounts of plates we had at the table. The Potato Pie is awesome! They've taken potato skins and thrown it on a pizza. The Cobb Salad was hella fresh! Grilled cheese (I know - Who orders that? I do!), sooo yum! And the Lucky Strike Club is rather unusual for a 'club' as they toss a fried egg into the sandwich, but it's damn good! I was quite surprised. And remember - It's called Lucky Strike - Not Lucky Spare... So order 10 of everything! I can't wait for my next trip back to Chicagoland so I can get lucky in Lombard! Plus, they've got some real pimp kicks that you won't find in Von Maur's shoe closet!

Make a reservation at least 1 week in advance if you plan on bowling on a Saturday. Drinks are crazy expensive for a bowling alley also.

Did a family outing at this Lucky Strikes and I have to say the service was refreshing. Our server was nothing but nice to us. I loved her attitude and we didn't have to find her to keep our drinks filled. Bowling was awesome. Its such a big place and there was not a lot of people there. I would totally have a get together at this LS it was awesome !

Call me a cynic but I was pre-determined not to like this place. I mean, really, a bowling alley in a mall out in the burbs? And this is going to be fun? Hmm , , , , , , , Well- pour me a cold one and hand me a pair of shoes!! This Lucky Strike Lanes rocked!! I am not a bowler by any means. But you know what? It doesn't matter. The bowling alleys seem to be ancillary to what this place is all about. It's more like a lounge. Cool sofas and chairs, intimate seating areas, great music, a sound system that rivals some of the clubs in the city and food that is really quite good. Oh- I am not talking gourmet fare- but hamburgers, deep fried macaroni and cheese puffs, pizza, salads, veggie sandwiches and more all freshly prepared and coming out in large supply! The bar is huge and runs the length of the place. On the recent Tuesday night when I was here- the place was pretty much empty so lanes were easy to get and the service was fast and efficient. The serving staff also looks like they are headed out to a club with their short dresses and high heels. So head out to the western suburbs and check this place out. It's a bit hard to find as it's located on the western side of the new addition to the Yorktown Mall between the Adobo Grill and Carsons. You'll know you are heading in the right direction as you will will hear the beat, beat , beat of the music which almost drowns out the crashing of the pins and the yells of the people as they high five each other over a strike! Oops! Gotta run- it's my turn to bowl!

I was here Friday night with a small group from work. All I knew is that we were going to a bowling alley; hence my decision to outfit myself in jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt. Immediately upon arrival I was impressed by how swank and hip this place is, and then painfully aware of how underdressed I felt. At a bowling alley! I then thought to myself, "Next time I'll wear something nicer...." - but I don't think there will be a next time. When we finally got our lane, we set out to find suitable bowling balls. This really irks me: why oh why must bowling balls weighing less than 10 pounds have finger-holes that would fit a six year old? Don't tell me I'm the only person out there that doesn't have the wrist strength to hurl a 13 pound ball down the lane. I was forced to go with an 11 pound ball, therefore bowling a miserable game in which I didn't even break 100. The seating was also a source of frustration in that they have these long couches with an equally long coffee table in between, making it really difficult to get up when it was your turn without stepping on everyone's feet. Think big, dark movie theater. Sitting in the middle of a long row filled with people, and then having to get up and shimmy your way over to the aisle to use the bathroom. The snacks were ordered were pretty good; grilled cheese sliders, potstickers and fish and chips. That was really the only positive thing worth noting. The shoe rental and 2 games of bowling came out to be about $22 per person. Yowzers! Not worth it, in my book. I'll stick with the bowling alleys of my youth: flourescent lighting, walk-up bar, club sandwiches, and prices that are a far cry from Lucky Strike.

I have a really hard time determining whether or not I care for Lucky Strike. In the pro column, it's lovely to look at, they play good music, the digital art displays are cool, and it's easy to get a lane if you come early. As for cons, it's frickin expensive as hell (especially if you want to reserve a lane in advance) and the service is extremely spotty. On my first visit, our group of nine was visited by the waitstaff maybe twice over the course of three games. The next time I went back, our appealingly skanky waitress was a constant yet unobtrusive presence. My brain has a hard time dealing with the hip club/bowling alley hybrid. I guess I prefer my bowling in a more traditional (i.e., cheap and dirty) atmosphere, but Lucky Strike isn't a bad place to hang out and have a few drinks.

A fun, upscale way to bowl. I enjoyed myself when I went to the opening for this location it was a good time. Its like a night club/bar/bowling alley you feel like your in the city ,not in the middle of the burbs. They have a nice big bar and quick drink service. Comfy couchs to chit chat on and food is suprisingly good. The food and drink prices are resonable. The bowling not so much but you pay for what you get. I hear that during the week bowling is cheaper but I have always gone on a weekend. The waiting for an alley is out of hand, once we were told we could have a lane in 2 1/2 hrs!? F that we left and if you are planning a date there on a weekend I suggest you make a reservation to insure a good time.

This place was great until they got a bearded mentally challenged manager. He's the most rude unintelligent unacomadating asshole out there. Not only did he not accept our free red pin certificate he actually threatened to take it away. How does he call himself a manager?! Until hes fired I will never go there again.

I agree with Joy G. I "won" free game for 6 people. I called and made a reservation for Friday night. I mentioned over the phone my winning card. The person who took my reservation acknowledged the fact that's its Friday reservation & I won free game. Anyway got there on Friday with 5 friends. Surprise.......the kid at the front desk wouldn't take my ticket saying its not valid on Friday & Saturday.......WTH. OK since I already had a reservation, I asked if we could still play? The Answer was NO they were fully booked & we had to wait for 2 hours. Apparently we lost our spot because the person we spoke to is no longer working there. Yes I asked for the manager after 2 hours wait, & wait, & wait, & wait, never showed up. Never going there again.

I'd give this 0 stars if I could. I've beern coming here for 3 years, but the new manager wasn't very welcoming at all. At first the girl up front wa allowing us to redeem our red pin, but the manager came in decided to not allow it. Even though we come there all the time. He was very unprofessional and very rude. Pretty much kicked out a party of 8.

Wow, unbelievable is all I can say. I'm normally so indifferent (and I'll admit it, LAZY) that I never write reviews (yes, a huge Yelp sin, I know). But Lucky Strikes in Lombard was soooo bad that I felt compelled to write my first ever Yelp review to warn any future bowlers of this overhyped and overpriced joke. The majority of my review will be on the bowling, so if you could care less about bowling, then move on. I went to this place for the first time Saturday night to celebrate 3 friends' birthdays. In the back of my mind I had a feeling it was going to be bad, but I had no idea how bad it was really going to be... Drinks: I was recovering from a week long "vacation" of drinking, so I passed on the alcohol. But my friend, notorious for being a "one-shot wonder", complained that her drink was weak. I've seen this girl after half a glass of wine, so if she didn't even feel the alcohol, then that's pretty bad. Service: Our server was very slow in taking our orders and getting us our drinks. The place wasn't exactly packed either. The part that made no sense was that when he finally showed up, he only had all the alcoholic drinks. Another girl and I had ordered plain Cokes and those took another 10 minutes to show up. Um, how hard is it to fill up two glasses with ice and fill it with pop? As opposed to mixing drinks?? Bowling: For the slightly more serious bowlers, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a bowling nerd. I bowl in two leagues and I own my own equipment. I'm not a spectacular bowler by any means, but when I go bowling I expect some very bare minimum requirements. Like normal lane length. And oil on the lanes. But at Lucky Strikes, the lanes are shorter than normal, as well as the approach. And there was absolutely NO oil on the lanes. Oh, and did I mention that after bowling 1.5 games, my ball was left with tons of crud on it and is completely scratched up? Thanks Lucky Strikes for messing up my brand new bowling ball. For the bowlers that don't care about lane condition, this place was still terrible. We had 12 people bowling and several more just hanging out. As other reviewers have mentioned, getting up to bowl was absolutely painful. The tables are located so close to the couches that it makes it impossible to walk around the people sitting down to get to the lanes. You have to climb over everyone each time it's your turn to bowl. As my friend put it, she felt like she was giving a lap dance to everyone each time she went up to bowl. Also, what's the point of the couches when you can't even get comfortable in them, since you have to struggle to move your legs out of the way every 2 minutes for someone to walk around you? The couches are a good idea, but they either need to make smaller tables or move the couches further away from the the tables. Oh and another annoying thing. We had a "Battle of the Sexes" competition going on. We're at about 5th or 6th frame, and the lanes completely shut down - apparently our 2nd hour was up. No warning, no message of "Prepaid limiting approaching" flashing on the screen (as I've seen at other bowling alleys). So we never found out which team was the winner. And for some odd reason, they shut off the ball return as well, so my friend's bowling ball was stuck in the back. So he had to ask the counter to turn on the lanes long enough for the ball to return. Summary: If you appreciate the sport of bowling or are actually looking to bowl, then never ever come here. The place is filled with douchebags and trixies trying too hard to look cool and be pretentious. The concept of the place is great, but execution was horrible. It would be a nice place to chill and bowl with your friends, but for $45/hr per lane (or possibly more, since my friend said the total for 2 hours on one lane was $112 and from what I understand, everyone paid for their shoes and drinks separately), I expect much better lanes. If you're not looking to bowl, then I can see how it would be a decent place to chill at. But then again, that's what lounges and bars are for.

Okay so when I heard someone mention this place I thought it was a cigar bar or something to do with smoking for the simple fact that there's a cigarette with the same name, so wrong! When i walked in I thought that the rumjungle night club and a bowling alley in vegas shacked up, had a baby named Lucky Strikes and moved to Chicago. Chic interior with hardwood floors. Soft leather couches in lieu of plastic booths. Bright strobe lights and laser beams cutting through the room. Random clips of movies and artsy pictures flash on the screens above the lanes. There's a full bar and food service, all can be brought to your lane. The bartender that night knew how to make a good drink however, the food is average. The burger was tasty but not impressive. The fries were a little cold so I had to end it back. The crowd is a good mix of mid 20's who don't want to go all the way into the city for a drink to the late 40's who want a fun night out. There is a dress code and age restriction during after hours since it does turn into a lounge. If bowling isn't your thing there's pool tables (I managed to win a couple games of cut throat against some local boys..yay for me). Call one of the serves when a red pin appears and if you get a strike you get some sort of prize (free drink I think). The servers wear cute little outfits (I wouldn't mind rocking one of those). I wish they would open one of these in the Bay Area.

Coming down the escalator my husband points out ' Hey a bowling alley that sells lingerie" - a reference to the posters outside. As we get in, the guy behind the counter chimes in "I love this PLACE it ROCKS!!" when we reply that we haven't been here. All these add up -he looks as though he probably can't get laid - and the waitresses are dressed like they aspire to work at a strip club some day - or be extras in Christina Aquilera's "Dirty" video. I defintely like the idea of having comfy couches and pool tables in the bowling alley, but this place is not for me - even more I shudder to think of the parents having "X Kids Parties X" as the sign states - I think the signs are to let you know they are XRated based on the servers' outfits. I could just hear my son now "Mommy, why does that girl have dental floss between her butt?" - Yes that is indeed how short the skirts are on the waitresses - who only serve at male dominated tables, the male staff hits the female tables - Quite interesting. 1 game for my husband and son was $23.95 - not really worth it to be bombarded by huge screens hawking modern art and loud speakers. I don't mind bowling alley noise, but this was just pointless, 10 big screens behind the bar and each lane had a projector screen on it. The decor is defintely chic and lounge style - if I were 5 years younger and not married with a child I could see spending time here - but this really isn't a family place in my mind.

I'm confused. Is this a lounge that you can bring your kids to? Why is the music playing at a defeaning volume? Is this a bowling alley or a club? Why is that party of eight year old boys being served by a half-naked woman? Why are there servers? Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I like bowling alleys to be old-school in the Big Lebowski sense: well-lit, patroned by a handful of regulars and quiet enough to hear the pins drop. I don't want expensive cocktails and I do want to hear if someone is talking smack about my game. I say no thank you to Lucky Strike Lane & Lounge. No thank you.

Lucky Strike is a breath of fresh air for the [lack of] late night-friendly suburban destinations. When I first walked in, i thought, "hey, this is like bowling meets nights club, very cool." And it is, the interior is modern and neat, there are [at my location] 3 distinct areas: Bowling lanes, lounge/bar and pool tables. Very spacious so you wont be running into anybody [unlike a club] but with good music and decor [unlike a bowling alley]. Needless to say this chain has alot going for it. Other niceties include very hot waitresses in skimpy skirts [always a plus] and sometimes a live DJ [weekend evenings. They do serve food and have a full bar, but I tried neither. If bowling isn't your game, then there is an array of plasmas to kick back and watch sports. Now this is where the review diverges, depending on what you want in Lucky Strike. My final score [3 stars] is the average of the two. I'll start with the bowling itself. Bowling Alley/Pool Review :: * [1 star] ------------------------------ To be concise: it is overpriced, uncomfortable with extraordinarily long wait times. You will need a reservation [if you come during primetimes] ... but reservations force you to book by the hour. Last i remember, it was $50/hr... OUCH. With 3 people we got just over 2 games in.... not a good value. If you want to wait it out [2+ hours] ... then you have the option of choosing the number of games you want to play. But then there's the music and atmosphere right? WRONG. In the lounge area, the music level is perfect, not too loud/soft. In the bowling area, the speakers are RIGHT ABOVE YOUR HEAD and turned up to 11. I couldn't hear myself think... let alone carry on a conversation. What's the point if you cant converse with your friends while bowling? Even the furniture arrangement is kinda retarded, we are doing acrobatics everytime we need to get up or sit down. The Pool tables are nice and well-maintained... but just like the bowling ... OVER PRICED. $30/hour?? seriously?? I guess if you're desperate it's not that bad of a deal. The ambiance and decor had so much going for it... but Lucky Strike fails on the small details to make the bowling experience acceptable. Lounge Review: ***** --------------------------------- This is alot better. It has the ambience of a club, decent-to-good music, plenty of space and good service [i would assume]. There's a full bar with many flat screen tv's. I dont see how you could go wrong here. If you go at night everyone is carded so no kids or annoying teenagers running around... just adults free to have some fun. I'm sure food and drinks are over-priced... to be expected. The music is highly variable though. The first time i went the DJ was amazing, every song was perfect. The second time, the DJ was sucking pretty hard, maybe 1 song in the 1+ hour i was there was actually good. I hate it when DJ's cant even do a simple job of choosing the right songs... I shouldn't feel the need to remove them from the booth and start queuing up songs on youtube. Conclusion: ---------------- A neat twist on bowling/lounging ... but with varying results. YMMV based on what you want out of Lucky Strike. Either way give it a shot.

I recently went here to celebrate a friends birthday, and although the place itself has a nice loungy atmosphere for drinks and bowling, I thought it was waaay pricey! ( c'mon it's still bowling) We ordered several different appetizers to share amongst the group none of which left any sort of impression on me. Everything tasted mediocre and the drinks were served in small glasses and made very weak. I suppose they feel they can get away with charging the prices they do for the experience. So I got to at least experience bowling there, but definately don't plan to return.

Okay, so I like Lucky Strike. A lot. It is everything that a typical bowling alley is not: nice new furniture, cool decor, great food, and awesome drinks. I even like that all of the bowling balls are colored by weight so it's really easy to find a ball. The only problem is the price. It is expensive. (and gets more expensive if you go on the weekends at night). Other minor complaints, if you actually sit on the couches right next to the lanes, it is a pain in the booty to walk past people after your turn is up. And the waitresses do dress a little skank-like. Although kids would love his place (especially pre-teens), I can't recommend with the huge bar and especially waitress's uniforms. And if you're just wanting to go bowling, don't come here - you will feel ripped off. However, if you're looking for an experience, great decor, awesome food and drinks, and maybe a game of bowling for fun, this may be your place - and you'll pay for it. I do have to say that it's nice to have this place out in the suburbs though, albeit at a mall. My recommendation - go here for a happy hour with friends/co-workers. Bowling is cheaper during the week and it's much less crowded. Have a drink or two and get a meal. It'll still be a b it expensive, but really fun, and not nearly the sticker shock that you'd see on the weekend.

This place is the shit. It's a super-cool lounge with a bowling alley and pool tables. Seriously, take out the bowling alley and pool tables, and it's still the kind of place I'd love to hang out. It's absolutely gorgeous inside. It's nice that they have a dress code, but they don't do it to only allow the snobbiest-of-snobs in, but to keep the ruffians and ghetto-fabulous out. In the end, it's a little pricier than most bowling alleys, but you get what you pay for. You're not dealing with crappy fiberglass seats while you wait for your turn to roll, you're chillin' on a long leather couch. Even the seats behind the bowlers' seats are something out of an ultra-lounge.

This place sucks and its filled with douchebags. Way overpriced. One good thing, the burgers. Not enough to make me go back.

I have been here for 2 work parties and they have been pretty good. One instance our service was a little slow. It was weird because there were only 2 parties there and it seemed like although we had reservations, the staff wasn't prepared. The second party was fantastic. We had a great waitress who really looked after us. The bowling is good. Much better than your typical smoky bowling alley by far. I don't bowl very often or very well, but this place was great.

I attended the grand opening with a friend and she said "This is so wierd waiting in line to get into a bowling alley in a mall in Lombard." A former north sider it took two years for my husband to stop saying "I hate the suburbs." All I could reply was "But you can park anywhere you go." Now we can park and go to a really exciting cool place. I love the decor here and it is refreshing to go somewhere where the waitstaff has a little edge (racey little things in go go boots). Thank you Lucky Strike!

Yes this place is very nice and clean looking however it is way over priced. We went there with 6 people and a 1 and half year child to celebrate a birthday and it was $150 to bowl for 2 hours. They charge by the hour and if you are not done with your game they cut you off anyway. I 3 of the people in our group had their shoes and balls too. The service sucked as well. i ordered a drink and the waitress forgot all about even after i reminded her a couple of times. The people that work there are NOT friendly at all. the cashier was rude to us. the waitresses wore slutty outfits and were not nice. Definitely not a child friendly place. They had high chairs for kids to eat but no diaper changing tables in the bathroom!

Nice place to come and Bowl while there are no leagues Bowling otherwise it can be a Pain in the arse. I bring the family here and we are able to have a great time unlike some of the other places we have been to on Family night. Our family will continue to come and bowl here for now on.

last night was my first time at lucky strike went with some friends to eat and then bowl. The service was terrible , we recieved no napkins or plates with our appetizers. When are actual meal came out we had no silverware to eat it with , the waitress told us she was embarressed to say that "THEY RAN OUT OF SILVERWARE" , the place wasnt even packed! Trying to find a waitress during bowling was terrible had one beer during the hour we paid to bowl. Over priced wouldnt return .

Went here recently with a large group. I can't quite decide if I liked the place. Let me say that the atmosphere is great. This is not your father's bowling alley. It is very modern and relaxed. With a sizable bar and lounge area in addition to the bowling lanes, it makes for a very relaxed place to get a drink. The service was absolutely terrible. I have never waited so long for food ever. While the entire group ordered at the same time, the food came out very sporadically. There was literally an hour between when some people were receiving food and others were. The waiter was inattentive and spent more time chatting with waitresses at the bar, than he was trying to salvage the chaos he was creating at our table. Just when I was almost completely fed up, my burger came. I got the spicy burger with jalapenos, pepper cheese, Tabasco sauce and chipotle mayo. Maybe it was the 5 Sam Adams speaking, or the fact that I had been waiting so long, but that burger tasted like I had bitten off a piece of heaven. A very, very delicious piece of heaven. I will no longer defile the memory of this burger with mere words that could never describe its goodness. Perhaps next time I will just call an hour ahead of time and tell them to start cooking that Jesus burger, so that I only have to wait for 30 minutes more when I get there.

what a swanky little place this is!! the music is an alternative and pop mix, the decor is very nice for a bowling alley, and the food is amazing!! i can't say too much for the people there (customers) because each time that i have gone there, barely anybody is there. what i can say about the staff is that all the female servers look like a hybrid britney spears/christina agulleira at their skankiest stages in "the biz". this is no exaggeration.......... my boyfriend was mesmerized by the bountiful bosoms, tight tank tops, coochie grazing skirts, thigh high fishnets, and hooker boots that adorned the girls (most of them that i have had the pleasure of being my waitress were underage and could not bring me my drink). nice girls, bad uniforms. but if you go you HAVE to try the burgers!!!! oh the burgers.......... these burgers are the burgers that dreams are made of. so tasty, so juicy, so fresh, and so top quality that you might mistake them for steaks. yes, thats right........... the burgers taste like steak, NY strip steak. i took one bite and i was in heaven.......... then i quickly had to ground myself to finish the rest of my burger. but the burgers are not the only thing that is amazing here. try the tomato n' cheese smores, chocolate brownie pudding, and any of the poppin drinks (the poppin fruit salad poppin drink is my fave). oh, i forgot to mention the art that is on the TV's in the bowling alley............ nice touch!!! i heart you lucky strike!!!

Service at the check in desk was real nice. There was a wait for a lane to bowl so I played pool in the meantime. L The waitress by the pool hall was terrible pretty much most of the drinks were out of stock according to her which didn't make sense for a Saturday night. Bowling experience was alright the food here is pretty good. I gave it 3 out of 5 because for one it's pricey and and the service was either really good or horrible depending at which end. I would recommended going here for a date I will be back.

The place has a great atmosphere. However, the service was terrible. There was no waitress working the lanes, the person who bought the food did not supply utensils or condiments. I was told that "it wasn't his job" (people still say that???) when we requested. Still enjoyed a couple of games bowling. The experience was not worth the costs. I will not return to this location.

This place strikes a whole different level of sucky. Came here relatively early on a Saturday night and had the worst service! No one acknowledged our presence, it took half an hour to get a beer from the servers who are supposed to serve the lanes. She kept disappearing for ever! After our two hours of lane reservations were over they just canceled our game... I mean I get that we have 2 hours but it kind of sucked of them to cancel it right in the middle of a game. So we moved from the lanes to the bar area. Where again no one came to ask us if we want a drink or if everything was ok. The food here is over priced, and so are he drinks. It tasted good don't get me wrong, but $11 for tiny little quesadillas or a flat bread?! Give me a break. Total rip off price wise and awful service.

The company I work for had a team event here. It was reasonably priced for the number of lanes and time we had reserved. Groovy tunes, very friendly services and overall good experience!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED. The manger is a total joke and only hires rude and unclassy people just like herself. Save yourself the money and find a better place where people actually treat you with respect I gave them one star only because yelp makes you in order to post a review otherwise they deserve a zero.

Brought the family here for a fun night of bowling. We got there early and the place was almost empty. The place is more adult centered, we were able to get a ramp for the kids to bowl. We ordered fries and a flatbread cheese pizza, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of both. The beer list was pretty bad (lots of standard domestics and not a single ipa to be found). Service was really good. 2 games for 2 kids was pricey (~$42) but they had a good time and that's all that matters.

Good food and atmosphere but the bar tending service is hands down the worst I've ever encountered. 14 people at the bar and the girl focused solely on one group of five. It took 19 minutes to get an order in and another five for her to pour the beer.

I was disappointed in Lucky Strike because I expected it to be state of the art, and it isn't. Service was fine, but the scoreboard is hard to read, the seating area is uncomfortable and crowded, and the blower for drying your hand was not working. I'm not impressed and will not go back.

Came here on a week night for a team event. We called to make a reservation just in case, the woman was helpful and nice. However, once we got there and it was completely empty we felt a little duped- we could have avoided the pre-ordered 3 option food and ordered when we go there.. They did break out separate checks which is nice. BUT, I ordered Makers on the rocks and when the bill came there was a charge for the bourbon and $3 "Ice Call"... $3/per drink for ICE? Thanks but no thanks. Fun place, but very spendy.

Walkin-ins are NOT welcome at this joint. There were several open lanes when we walked in, but we were told the wait is 30 minutes. We waited over an hour before leaving to do something else. Another place that makes you wait to get you to spend money at the bar...skip it. $125 for two games...they should call this place...STRIKE OUT!

First of all looks nice when you walk in. Nice looking for a Romantic setting because with the lowered lighting mood setting. I didn't care for the bowling area couches where to low the tables are tibia bone hitters. Yikes If on a budget and like to drink no deals there. It's in a Mall too. There are large red ball lights that are in the way to seeing the game score So called dress code there as well. I seen someone that did not use the bowling shoes and someone with a rip in there pants. Had to sign a contract for a two hour rental with all kinds of rules that other people didn't have to follow.Nice for them huh? Good going wow. Not all that.

Okay, I'd love to review this place on their food...but we never got served. We waited...and then we waited a little bit more...and then we kept waiting. For twenty minutes...to receive a menu, or even just a look that said "hey we'll help you in a minute." But we got neither. So, we left. No one said bye, no one said anything to us...the entire time we were there after we got seated. It was probably 3 pm on a weekday... it wasn't busy, but there was a work party there, but... we ALSO wanted to spend our money there, they just didn't want our money...so we left. I hate leaving hungry, but hey, I was able to get food that was delicious at rock bottom and actual service there as well. I won't try to come back here, having been seated and then waiting for twenty minutes to not be acknowledged is really pathetic in my book.

went bowlin with 4 other people & enjoyed ourselves. we ordered a few apps that were ok & sum drinks that were not that strong but we still enjoyed ourselves bowlin. i love the huge couches to the back of the main seats but it was hard to move around our little area with that many people. they were playing some good music tho so i appreciate that! its a really nice place with a great ambience but i just wish they would fix the seating area right by the bowlin area cuz its too cramped.

I never posted an update, After posting my original yelp review the GM contacted me and gave me a 10 person party for me and my friends. We went back and had a much more pleasant experience. I appreciate that they cared about their customers and that I had a bad experience. I have not been back since (This is over 2 years ago) but they deserve a 4 star rating for reaching out to me and making things right.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at lucky strike in lombard! ! I hosted a surprise party for my husband there. The staff was super friendly and the managers Mike and Rina were a pleasure to work with. Although we started off with a bit of miscommunication, they were quick to correct all the details. The manager was very accommodating to our group and our server was on top of everyone's drink orders. It was a perfect place to have the party. we played pool, and they had the Hawks game on as well as a basketball game. Everyone had a really great time!!

I liked it, the chicken nachos were delicious and over priced and yummy. you get enough to share with another person. I cant complain about this place, I will be back soon to practice my bowling because even though I won the game out of my group, Im sure a 89 is not that great of a score.. Don't laugh too hard

My friends and I decided to check out Lucky Strike since Pinstripes' bowling did not start until 9PM. We arrived on a Thursday night and it was quite empty (which was fine with me, less of a wait to bowl). The attire has a comfortable lounge feeling. Each bowling aisle is accompanied by a couch and then two aisles share a table to eat and drink. They also have a only dining area in case you did not want to bowl. One of the ladies at the register forgot to add our friend on the screen even though she was paid for. The prices were bowling were quite expensive. For just my boyfriend and me, we paid 21 dollars for ONE game. It did include shoes, so the lady said that if we were to bowl another round for the two of us it would be an additional twelve dollars. I think for prices that high, we should at least get two games, not just one. There is quite literally no space to walk up to the bowling lane between the couches. At one point, we were literally walking on top of the couch to get up to bowl because if you wanted to walk around you literally have to walk to another bowling aisle and then walk across. I think the place is beautiful but should really consider these types of space issues. Our service was quite good and there was no complaint there. I ordered the margarita pizza which was big enough to feed at least two people, and was tasteful. Other people in the group ordered the pork and fish tacos which had plentiful servings and were reported be amazing. We had the guacamole and an arbole salsa with chips that were just alright. The drinks portions were incredibly small and overpriced. I was disappointed by the lack of vegetarian options on their menu. Overall, I would only return to bowl, everything else is not affordable.

Terrible. Would give zero stars but wasn't an option. Overpriced for JUST bowling. Staff is miserable and rude. Food is overpriced and awful - undercooked all deep fried or microwave. They act like we should be honored that they let us in. Our family has given this place three chances-and they are consistently awful. Will never go back!!!! Go to Pinstripes down the street and amazing!!!!
