Best Chinese food we have ever had! We have been coming here for 35 years, & never been disappointed. No matter what you order you cannot go wrong, they have the best eggrolls, and Mongolian beef. You really must try it : )

Been looking for a Chinese place since Lang Lee closed. The seach goes on...Great egg rolls. If you are planning to order more than that, skip this place. Won ton soup. Glowing fake yellow color. Won tons contain dark, gristly chicken meat. Barely any discernable flavor to the broth. Five slices of green onion top in the quart container and 5 slivers of overcooked pork. Chicken Chow Mein is entirely thigh meat or something...if it's even chicken. Weird grey color and VERY gristly. As in, every sliver of meat had fat or sinew running through it. Vegetables were ok. Orange Chicken - actually had white meat. But it was rubbery, grainy, weird texture. Veggies WAY overcooked. The broccoli was was nearly pudding-like in texture. Shrimp Egg Foo Young, light on the shrimp. Brown sauce flavorless. Pan Fried Noodles fried at wrong temperature, sopping with grease. Called, hoping to get a partial refund, but the owner's wife gave me the runaround, save the food, bring it back in and we'll give you something else. Yeah, not worth the 20 minute drive one-way to pick up another horrendous entree or two. Thanks anyway. It looks like the place is on its last legs. All the bottles on the bar are half to a quarter full, pretty dusty. Very sparse crowd, one table on a Tuesday night. But, it is, like sub zero out there. Maybe the cold is keeping the crowds away. But doubtful. More like the fact that the food is Dis. Gus. Ting.

I've been coming here for years. I love Pagoda House. Their eggrolls are the best I've ever had. I seriously have not found any eggroll that beats theirs. The workers are very friendly and nice. I bring my friends here!

Pagoda Chicken and Pork Fried Rice is so good. I think this place is very underrated. It'd be great to see it become the #1 Asian restaurant in the area.

I used to think this place was a 3-4 star place with decent lunch specials. UNTIL I started to bring a friend of mine there who happened to be black. The first time things were ok. The second time he came they acted like they were going out of their way to take his order and bring his food. And they only did this to him, the only African American at the table. Search this place up and look at the Google review by a guy named James. If you want Chinese food and don't mind driving an extra 15 minutes, I recommend China House in Romeoville on Weber Road.

I've lived in Lockport quite a while, but somehow didn't get around to visiting this restaurant. I went here last friday night, and was pretty happy with it. It is kind of pricey, but the food was good, and the service was good. I ordered egg foo young, which was a big portion, so I had some to take home too. It was really tasty. I also got calamari and egg rolls for appetizers which also were very good! I will definitely go back!!

Really good crab rangoons and egg rolls, but that's it! The rest of their food is lacking good flavor and is greasy!

It's a nice place for a fancier sit-down meal, but the food isn't all that great. Kinda bland, and even though it is close to our house, we tend to grab take out from other Chinese places as the food here is a little pricey for average fare. And even though this is cliche, Pagoda House also owns the Pagoda Pet Shop in town, and even though it shouldn't, it still makes me wonder :-)

I remember when this place opened and it was pretty good. I moved back to the area and tried carry-out once and it was awful, but remembering what Pagoda House used to be 25+ years ago I decided to try carry-out again. It was definitely a mistake. Now my sister went there recently and dined in the restaurant and said it was really good, but said she had the same experience as I did when she did the carry-out. You could possibly try this place dining in, but I would highly advise against the take out if you really want to give it a shot. It's the most expensive Chinese food in Lockport, and based on my carry-out experience the worst I've ever had.

We ate here once.....that was enough. The food was bland, everything was greasy, overpriced and the waiter hovered, annoyingly. Not at all impressed.

I really like chinese food, but most of the dishes here (even the spicy ones) seem like they would really tickle my grandparents tastebuds, but not mine. I just think that they have been serving the same menu for the last 20 years and have come to decide that they will fill that niche (standard Chinese place). It's a shame because the location is great (for Lockport) and the area is really starting to blossom with I-355 being built just a few miles away.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
