I've been here a dozen of times because it is fairly close to my work and can't tell you that it is a hit or miss experience. To go orders are ALWAYS wrong, I mean ALWAYS. But if you dine in you have higher chances of getting your order right. They have a huge menu but the food is just ok, nothing special. I tried many items on their menu but can't recall any of those, which means it didn't impress me at all. All in all come for the outdoor sitting, maybe for a drink, but not if you would like to have delicious food and friendly service

On our way back from Legoland, we starving and had idea where to eat so when driving by, we saw this place and decided to check it out. There was a lot of cars in the parking lot which to me means, lots of people = good food. We were seated right away and waited on right away. Big place, I was impressed. We were seated in a bar area that had tons of tvs and a scrolling message center so you could keep up with any game or match you needed to know about. Menu has a ton of options to choose from but we decided to just go with burgers because we were craving them, it was getting late and we had to drive home still. Burgers came and they were fantastic. Juicy, lots of flavor, cooked good and we scared them down in no time flat. I really like this place and hope to make the drive again soon to visit again. So if you are ever in the area, definitely pull into Austin's Saloon.

absurdly loud, and it's cold outside but I can't hold on to my jacket? have to pay to check it? and bar service was slow...not coming back

I try to stay pretty open-minded when trying a new restaurant, especially after reading reviews. This place had so-so marks so I gave it a shot.....ordered the New York rib eye steak with sweet potato fries on the side. They both sucked. I ordered the steak medium rare, and it came back medium well.....barely any pink in the center. My husband had the Cowboy steak, medium rare, and his also came back wrong. When we told our server (Gregg) about the mistake, he tried saying that it was because of the lighting at our table. Seriously? On second look, he decided to take it back to the kitchen for about three seconds, because he quickly returned and claimed that the chef remarked "the steaks are perfect" to who's standard? I would have even accepted an apology at that point, but there was none. The sweet potato fries were barely warm when first brought and cold within minutes of starting the meal. We tried to get through eating the steaks anyway, but they were just awful. The only "side" item it came with was a small pathetic onion, and the plates weren't even big enough to get a decent cut into the meat. I tried to have an open mind about the place, but after being told that I'm wrong for correcting MY order, I had to write a review. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The name is also rather misleading, as some of the staff shirts say "Austin's saloon and eatery" and others say "Austins saloon and STEAKHOUSE". We went because we were under the impression that it was a steakhouse, which it's clearly not. Never going back, overpriced and the incident with the staff sealed the never-returning deal.

Okay, this was our first time at Austin's, last night, I will say the food was good. We had prime rib, my first dish had a long hair on my prime rib and I ordered med and got rare. When I asked for another ice tea, the waiter took my glass and brought it back with the same melted ice and my old, already squeezed beat up lemon!!! I was like wow! So aside from the crappy service, I'd give it another try in a different waiters section : )

Like this place a lot. Nice atmosphere , friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices..whats not to like? Highly recommend the steak spinach salad with raspberry ranch dressing.

My wife and I went there for the Black Stone Cherry Concert last night. We got there at 7:15pm the 1st band started at 8:30. We went there to eat dinner 1st then see the show, we were told there would be a 30 to 40 minute wait. So we managed to get a spot at the bar after waiting a few minutes, I ordered a Miller Lite, wife ordered a soda. We got buzzed after 45 minutes that our table was ready. Waitress came by quickly asked if we needed anything to drink, I asked for a Miller lite she said they were out of that. I then asked for a bud lite she said there were temporarily out of that. So asked for Coors lite and she said they were not selling that tonight as the beer sponsor of the show has certian requirement on beer sales. (Evidently primarily budwieser products) She proceed to rattle off a bunch of other beers I could have right now, all of which i had never heard of or tried (mind you I have drank other brands other than just miller or budweiser). In addition she didnt offer a few minute wait on a bud lite. So I had no idea if it was a few minute situation or something longer. I told her how rediculous this was, she just rattled off some more beers I had never had. I just wasnt in the mood to try something I wasnt sure about. I cant believe they didnt have 1 lite beer available! I finally just ordered a soda. For our dinner order, I ordered a skillet steak sandwich and a my wife ordered a wild west steak both with mash potatoes, The steaks were both delicious, The Mash potatoes were lumpy and luke warm. so half the meal was good. The 1st band had already started by this time so we kind of rushed dinner paid our bill and went into the show in the fuel room. I notice at this point they had plenty of ice cold bud lite both at the main bar and in the bar in the fuel room. How they ran out and couldn't get more bud lite in a couple of minutes was beyond me. The show itself was good, but I am still amazed how they could run out or not have any of those 3 brands of beer for any amount of time. Its a lack of planning and there stupid rules of bowing down to some beer distributer so they can only sell a limited amount of other brands on the nite of a show is beyond me. If I had just stopped by just for dinner and not a concert I would have been even more pissed off. I give them 2 stars the steak was great, The show was good but the problems with the beer and the room temperature lumpy mashed potatoes give them big markdowns in my book. I suppose I will go there again for a concert but I will not go there just to eat ever and will likely just eat somwhere else before the concert. The owner of Austin's really needs to take a look at these reviews and examine his way of doing business. He is really missing out on some repeat customers that will come back when there isnt a concert going on.

Horrible Service when the place was empty, Imagine when its crowded,- Slow Waitress, Not Nice- Had a group of us- I asked about the Slider Special on Tuesday and she told me I had to order the special at the bar. But the sign out front says nothing about Ordering Specials at the Bar. I can say happily that I will never come back- Horrible Service, Horrible Management, Horrible Waitress

I've been to Austin's a few times. Just not that great, wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. Only went there to play trivia on Wednesday's. Food is just OK I guess, nothing special.

Friday happy hour may not be the beat time to rate a saloon type place but oh we'll :D Had to park in back as it was so crowded but plenty of room so not a big hassle. Sat at bar as always which usually promises good service. Two bartenders on and moving pretty well. First beer was prompt but half way gone before I was asked what If like for food (wings and pizza). As a note the shear size of the menu was a concern... Wings were pretty much a solid c+. Nothing wrong with them but not like "run in here now to get some!!!!" Went traditional buffalo sauce. Not too heavily sauced and medium heat. Pizza was also a solid B- but the way it was advertised on the menu I expected more. But price point was reasonable. Very good beer selection and good selection of whiskey (with surprising single malt scotches..) Special note: I had the opportunity to hear the manager express concern that a regular walked out at lunch. He was frustrated over wait time but this indicates a few things 1) if you are a regular the KNOW you!!! 2) they care about your experience 3) you will come back.. I like this spot. Not trying to be anything other than a fun place for a good beer and fair apps. Keep up the good work!

My instinct says this was a 3-star experience but when I factor in the awesome service we received - I have to bump it up to 4 stars. Big menu, big space, great service, food you'd expect, and an ok beer list. We sat outside and everything went great. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The portions are big. It'd be cool to see a couple of standout menu items and maybe a couple more local beers on draft/bottle. All in all a good experience.

The food here is pretty good. I like the fact that they have a real bar and a real dinning area. Go to eat or go to drink, both options are here.

This is one of favorite lunch/ After hour places for me and my co workers... Honestly i am surprised to see so many negative comments for this place. Nothing that I have tried has been disappointing here.... They have the best chicken Fajitas in i have had in my life... I have been to tons of Mexican food joints but no one could match up Fajitas here... The chicken in fajitas is so soft , just melts in mouth.. I don't know how they make it ... I love the blackened chicken sandwich and mushroom sizzler.... For evening they have nice bonfire with music and on weekends they have some cool bands coming over to perform ... By far One of the best Tex-Mex places in this area...

2015 NYE All star package. PRICE OF EVENT: Good. NYE bar tenders: Excellent. Bar liquor/stock: Average. Nye front door staff: POOR. FORCED to return to my hotel room to retrieve my ID. because I accidentally grabbed my ID that expired ONLY 9 days ago, and due to holidays and DMV hours only 4 official working days had gone by that the DMV was open. Thankfully since I am a adult I had the current one at the hotel.."read the date A-holes and practice you F-ing math I turned, 30. Look 30" HINT HINT- maybe you should check ID'S during the purchase or pick up of your reservation. Nye room/hotel: Below average. Nye heavy/appetizers: Below average -because they only offered the appetizers from 9:30pm-10:25pm. Nye transportation: Awesome. Band and DJ: Excellent.

Between the mouse, running out of food, and giving out less drink garnish because they were 'too busy' you probably want to know why I even gave it one star...its because I don't know how to give negative amounts of stars on here. We got here for Mother's Day and had a reservation for ten that had been made weeks ago for a table near the buffet due to mobility difficulties in our family. We were seated in the back corner of the Fuel room (the back room used for concerts). We proceeded to order drinks and when the bloody Mary's came with zero garnish we asked to which the waitress told us they were told not to garnish because of how busy it would be today. Next we went up for food around 1 (keep in mind the brunch goes until 2) to find they were out of prime rib, salmon and a few other items. After coming back to the table, is that down for about a minute and there was a guest at our table. A MOUSE. The staff attempted to use pitcher typically used for Bud Light at concerts or when the bars open later to catch the mouse. The mouse ran under the DJ booth and they gave up. Unfortunately we were never asked if we wanted to move or anything. Most of us did not finish our food nor put our feet back down on the floor. After my brother caught the mouse with a flowerpot, that was a gift, and the owner became involved we paid our ENTIRE bill and all the owner did was assure us we could have our pot back. So classy. Happy Mother's Day mom. Next year we will pick somewhere else.

This place is busy for a reason and worth the wait. Food is always amazing and delicious. Berry berry coconut chicken salad is one of the best salads I've ever tried! Staff is very friendly and smiling. Appetizers are big sized portions to share with table. I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this place more frequently.

Patty Melt = excellent; Plain Jane Burger = very good; French fries = very good; cole slaw = excellent. Our server (Matt) was excellent: timely, attentive, competent, friendly. Don't be afraid to try Austin's because you see a few negative reviews here! Austin's has three different rooms and thus three different experiences: the restaurant (Eatery), the bar (Saloon) and the music venue (Fuel Room). The restaurant room is clean and comfortable, and totally separate from the bar room and music room. We visited Saturday night, just a brief wait for a booth, and the restaurant was pleasantly lively. The menu is huge: that's good, not bad! Based on our positive experience with our hamburgers and sides, I'm guessing that most of the pub food choices on the menu will be good. If you're fussy about steaks, seafood or pizza, then maybe don't order them here and wait until you're at a restaurant that specializes in those? The bar room looks intentionally rugged / rustic / old / worn which might be why some people described it as filthy or rundown. To me, it appeared to be ambience, not dirt! LOL I've been told that the music experience in the Fuel Room is excellent. If you're a local resident and wondering if you should try Austin's: yes, try it. If you live farther away, then it might only be worth a long drive if you're coming for the music performance, with the food as just a reasonably good option.

The food is really good but there is one bartender that completely ignores women who sit at the bar. Kinda funny because I tip better than a lot of people. There are other bartenders who are awesome Lo, Tiffany to name a few. Next time I come in and she's here I think I'll go to mickey finns!!!!!

We had reservations for the mother's day buffet.....yuck. I've been to Austins before for regular meals and they have okay, good enough to agree with the choice for mothers day. We didn't get seated until 25 mins after our reservation, and there were plenty of empty but uncleared tables. We had to ask about seating, that was when.....sorry I never finished this, but moms dat there sucked

Been here on occasion several times but mostly on Tuesday nights for beer pong and the DJ. It's best to come here in the summer because it is always packed with people signing up to play pong. Also there is two dollar draft beers. Even if they're only in tiny plastic cups, it's still a pretty good deal. The only downside is that sometimes you come across people who act like they're the hottest pieces of work and think they own the place. Also it's very loud which makes talking to your friends difficult. Overall it's fun and something to do. Will have to check out the dining area and try a meal next time. I have only ate here once a while back so I'll give it another shot.

Took my family of five there to hopefully treat my son to a good meal after graduating navy boot camp. We were not disappointed. Good food and service and affordable too. If I ever found myself in that area again I would gladly go back.

Austins is the type of bar that is really confused about what it wants to offer its customers. I went here with a group of friends on a saturday night. This place has a ton of TVs for sport watching and a really loud DJ so you can't talk to the person next to you. I guess they have shows in the back sometimes so maybe that would be fun. The patio is probably the best part, so you can get away from the crappy ambiance inside. They only had 1 bartender on for a saturday night who was forgetting everyones order, either that or not serving them all together. He may have been drunk, who knows. Austins is extremely overpriced for the area and has a mediocre beer list. I recommend going elsewhere unless you are there to see a band in the back or have a really big group, as there is a lot of space!

It's sad to see so many negative reviews . We love Austin's and have never had any problems! I've never gone to the bar, I come here with friends and family often for lunch or dinner. ( never been here past 7 pm). I've always received prompt service and great food! I usually get the chicken finger pita and onion rings. - it's delish! The place is clean, runs efficiently, service is prompt even when the pub is crowded. This is a favorite on my list.

Trashy place that attracts a trashy clientele. Spent lunch listening to the manager chew out a couple members of the wait staff. Really abusive, was waiting for the girl to quit on the spot. Bad vibe, food was mediocre, would not go back.

Had dinner last night Drinks were good(martinis) Appetizer was awesome(loaded fries) Dinner was delicious (chicken mushroom on pretzel bread & chicken enchilada soup) Our server was patient and very friendly and attentive but it was kinda empty. The patio area is decent size with a fire pit. If you like sports it's a good place to go watch-bar area had tons of screens I'd go back

No service after 20 minutes. Nothing. Not even a hello. Screw this place. It was dirty, loud and filled with pigs who litter the parking lot with cigarettes. Great place if you smoke and like drinking beer our of plastic cups like you're at a concert

  • Mya C.

I come here often to watch sports games (bears, cubs, sox, blackhawks). Their food specials during the games are horrible - just order something off the regular menu. Sliders are nasty. There's always some drunk almost naked regulars (girls) who go around flirting with customers and getting free drinks and cigarettes. That's annoying.

We went here in a large group of about 15 people for NYE. We purchased the 'Rockstar Package' which included a hotel room at the Comfort Suites (I heard there were other people at Candlewood Suites as well), shuttle bus, 2 tickets to Austin's/Fuel Room for Bella Cain, open bar 9-close, champagne toast, heavy appetizers, and a complimentary breakfast back at the hotel. The service the entire night was excellent, the midnight toast included a balloon/confetti drop, noise makers and hats were included, and they served breakfast as a 'late night snack' too! I was also pleasantly impressed with the liquor selection they provided... the only thing I paid attention to was the Svedka, which was a nice mid-range liquor choice for an open bar but I know they had provided a somewhat decent selection overall (minus tequila and rum which were rail). I will definitely be going back to Austin's again sometime soon with our friends and 100% recommend them for your NYE plans next year. Bella Cain was awesome as well, they really brought the celebration! Pricing reflects NYE package deal... but it truly was all inclusive!

Well, I have read a lot of negative reviews, which is kind of a bummer. From what I am reading, a lot of the negativity has to do with the service. Unfortunately, I would agree with that. My bf and I go every Wed. night for live trivia and half price wine. We had THE BEST server, Lynn. She knew our orders and our drinks, she took incredible care of us. Then she moved... to New Hampshire. The other servers in the bar area are terrible. We moved on to sitting at the bar, the female bartender is great. The guy is a douche. IE: the keg popped and splattered me with beer... he didn't even apologize. The food is great. It's bar food. What do you want? Good sliders, good fries, good burgers. Love the fuel room. I have seen so many local acts there... 16 Candles, Wedding Banned, etc... and plenty of big named acts too! If you are looking for great daily specials, great drink specials, a fun place to watch a game, trivia... come to Austins. Don't come for the service though... that is something to be desired. Come back Lynn!!!!!

I should have known better. This is not the kind of restaurant to order fish in unless it's breaded and deep fried. The parmesan crusted tilapia was oil soaked and mushy. The parmesan crust was as thick as the filet. Really not edible. I'm always suspicious of restaurants with 50+ menu items. How many entrees can a kitchen make well?

I've been here twice - once on a Sunday afternoon for football and once on a Saturday night for a live band. On the Sunday, we arrived early and sat at the bar. We were early enough to snag one of the TVs for the game we wanted to watch. The bartender was friendly and attentive. On the Saturday, we went into one of the music rooms and enjoyed the band that was playing. The acoustics were great! There were plenty of people but it wasn't overcrowded. No problem walking up to the bar in that room to get a drink. I would come here again if in the area.

My lady and I dined there for the first time last evening. The first thing we noticed was the overloaded menu. She ordered the shrimp and it tasted like rubber. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it had lumps of pork, rather than the stringy texture that I'm used to. In addition, the service was spotty and slow. We will never go back there.

I am impressed with Austin's! Been there 3 times over the last month, I'm addicted to the portabello sandwich - perfectly made and the toppings are creative. Great decor, fun dining area. This is a family friendly place but also has a fun bar.

Love coming here! I've been here for all kinds of occasions, dinner, drinks and events. Every time I have been here I have left more than pleased! I love the atmosphere, and the staff is always well trained and nice. I love how this restaurant isn't typical "chain food" and there are so many different entrees to choose from. If you haven't tried this place definitely give it a try! Their nachos and fajitas are to die for!!!

Neat venue to pack it in for a nice, small (large for what you are paying but not stadium sized) show. Drink prices are reasonable, staff was friendly enough. No experience with the food though.

This was our first visit here, and had a pretty good experience. The food was good, portions huge, and prices reasonable. The wait staff was slammed, and it showed in the level of service. They repeatedly thanked us for our patience. We'd go back.

We had about three waiters pass us before the hostess decided to seat us. Our waiter took about thirty minutes to even come greet us--we were standing up to leave before the waiter finally asked for our drink order. It took another ten minutes before she had the drinks at our table. Mind you, there were countless empty tables in our area, and the bar was pretty empty too. After receiving our drinks, we were asked our order. My mom ordered a "Black and Bleu", I ordered a "Plain Jane", that means no cheese. The Food came out pretty quickly, like fifteen minutes. My moms burger looked pretty good. Mine did too, except for the slice of orange cheese on it. I am lactose intolerant, I can't have dairy products unless I take medication for it. I didn't thinking I wouldn't have to face a dairy product. I asked if she could take it back and get me one with no cheese but she responded by saying I could pick it off. Excuse me? I expected better service when I came. I complied though and picked off all the cheese. My moms complaint off the food was that her burger tasted like they scrapped the black stuff off of the grill and put it onto her plate. But she choose to eat that--its not really their fault. My brother complained to me that his tatertots tasted like gas. And After I tried one, I had to agree. If you want a burger go to Morgans, or Firkin, or Micky Finns. Morgans also has great fish and chips.

Stopped for a drink and dinner on 1/2 price pizza night so se gave it a try. The pizza was great. Thin crust, which is my personal favorite. Bucket of gold for an appetizer was also a home run. The only negative was the wait. There seemed to be no host working so it took a while to get a seat. Then we waited a bit for our waitress. Once she arrived she did a great job and continued to check back with us within a good time frame.

I have to say I am a regular of this place for its specials and good TVs. Service is always good for me, but as I said I am a regular. I recommend the bar because they always work hard. My one thing about this place that I don't understand is how they are not pushing there ribs more. I am a big rib person and I really love there ribs. I get the spicy sauce and the BBQ on the side and mixed is just perfect. They have a great smokey flavor as is but I like the spicy addition. TRY THE RIBS YOU WON"T BE DISSAPOINTED. I just don't know why they don't market them more. Just means more for me!!!!

I'll start with a summary. The management here does not treat their customers with respect. If you are in Libertyville and you want to have some drinks and listen to live music, go to Mickey Finn's. You'll get treated with respect there. No one should ever have to set foot in this place. Austin's is a saloon in rural Libertyville. The decor reflects the saloon theme. When you walk up to the building, there is an outside bar and a fire pit which would probably be nice on a crisp evening. The bar usually offers a coat check, would be convenient on a freezing, busy night. The Fuel Room is the room in the back where the bands play. They often have small national acts and large local bands that perform there. There is a large stage in the back and a bar along the left wall. The lighting system here is very impressive. The sound system is also very expensive but very poorly operated. Parking can be a nightmare. You would expect there to be ample parking in rural Libertyville but the tiny lot that the bar owns is miraculously always full. There is another small strip mall next door where parking seems to be permitted but that can fill up quickly. If it's a busy night, patrons can park across Peterson Rd at another strip mall. Keep in mind that Peterson is a 4 lane, 45 MPH state road so if you have bad weather, ladies in heals, invalids or anyone with a leg injury it may be best to drop them at the door. Our friend was performing at Austin's that night and we went to celebrate his birthday. They were scheduled to go on at 10 pm and the cover was advertised as $5. There was a Bar Mitzvah in the Fuel Room before the show and the bathrooms were filled with 13 year olds trying to get us to buy them shots. We had ~60 friends that met us there for the show. 11 of us had a reservation for dinner. We were seated at a long "table" in the bar which was about 18" by 12'. We arrived at 7:30 pm and our waitress took our drink order. My wife asked to be on separate checks but our waitress told us they would not do that. We walked upstairs to check our coats but the person working the coat check told us that it was only being offered for the Bar Mitzvah patrons. After 30 minutes our drinks arrived and our waitress took our food order. Some friends of ours had just arrived and sat down at another table. They received their food in about 10. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. Another 30 minutes had passed someone at our table had declared that she had complained and soon our waitress appeared with our food. After that, no one saw her ever again. The food there is typical bar food and it's inexpensive. Nothing on the menu can be considered fine cuisine. Just what you would expect at a saloon in Lake County. At about 10 pm, someone in the band told us that the Austin's was going to let the Bar Mitzvah go another hour. We were finally allowed to enter the Fuel Room, I discovered that they were charging $7 instead of $5. Not a huge deal. I was able to easily cover the extra $2 for my wife and I but as I was playing, I made a point to tell the girl taking the money that the show was advertised as $5 and the band was starting very late. In a snotty tone she said, "I don't know what to tell you. It's $7, not $5." I paid for my wife and walked by. As my wife walked in, the girl blocked her and screamed "IT'S $7 TO GET IN! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, I CAN HAVE YOU THROWN OUT!" My wife smiled and said "Relax, he already paid for me." I immediately walked up to a security guard and asked who the manager was. He pointed me toward a man standing in the sound booth. The manager saw us but pretended that he didn't. I walked around to the front of the sound booth to get his attention and wave him over to the entrance of the booth. He ignored me so I waved again and pointed emphatically toward the entrance. He came over and we began to tell him about the confrontation with the girl at the door. He stopped me and said "The door price is contracted with the band." I tried to continue telling him what happened and he yelled "I'M DONE TALKING WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU DON'T LISTEN!" Just then, another manager walked up and calmly listened but I was surprised that he had a lame excuse generator for everything that happened. Here are some quotes: 1. (Talking about the girl taking money at the door) "Someone before you insisted they were on the list. But she didn't have a list and she was frustrated. When you walked up she just lost it so please don't look at her cross eyed." When he grew tired of us negating his arguments he tried to use comedy to divert our feelings toward the situation. 2. "Managing a bar is very difficult. Most of the people you deal with are drunk." Everyone's job is difficult and we were very sober because we had no waitress. 3. "I heard that you guys were causing confusion for the waitress because you were all taking pictures when she was trying to deliver your food." Yes, he even tried to blame us for the sucky waitress.

If you want to be treated horribly by a punk twenty something manager, please go to Austin's. Food is usually very good, with that said it is over shadowed by an immature rude "manager". With only 10-15 people in the entire bar area, after spending three hours watching a NFL football game, he changes all the TV channels, with 2 minutes left, then walks in the other room and blames the bartender, which sent 4 people straight over to the manager. This is the second occurrence and last time, with over 15 TV's in the place all games could be shown. It is evident why there are not many people at Austin's anymore. Take a look at your management Mark.

Food: 2 Decor: 2 Service: 2 I came by here with a party of 7 around 7pm Monday for dinner. It was football night, so the place was pretty packed. 1. Tacos Mediocre. 2. Pizza Mediocre. 3. Quesadillas Guess. Total was about $100 for 7 of us. Everything tasted like mediocre bar food. Service was awful, and I had to try numerous times to flag our server down. TV was too loud during commercials.

NO Stars fot this crap hole but i had to click at least one...... The family (who also owns In Laws and Fatmans) is riddled with pond scum. They are complete **sholes and could care less about anything but ripping you off. The food is terrible and the atmosphere is completely lame unless you are an underage patron looking to drink or a coked out divorcee looking to score. Trying to be everything to all people out greed is not a business model!

Attended a rehearsal dinner in the larger function room/ music venue. Service was outstanding. Constantly asking us for re fills and clearing plates. Extremely helpful in letting me order kids meals from the main restaurant. Probably the best banquet/wedding food I have had in 10 years. Thanks for a great time.

I was there to see some XFO. Couple of things were pretty annoying: 1. They don't seem to have ample parking. My friends had to park far away, and I barely got a closer spot, which really wasn't that close. 2. They insisted that my friend put her coat in the coat check, which you of course had to pay for. Anything to squeeze a couple more dollars out of you. Kinda sh!tty if you ask me... 3. We tried to eat dinner there after the fights, and you would think they would still have their restaurant open at 10:15pm, but apparently not. 4. I'm not sure if it is the venue or XFO producers fault, but there were lots of flaws in the event....like having to break for 30-45 minutes because they realized the standby ambulance was not there (good thing nothing happened to the guys in the first match). Somebody screwed up. and meanwhile people have to stand around and wait. and spend money on more drinks. I guess that's what you get when you venture up to Libertyville. Maybe it is a good thing the restaurant was closed....by the looks of previous reviews of this place. p.s. no Grey Goose? No Mike's Hard? :(

As a Libertyville native, this is probably my favorite place to go to grab something to eat. The menu has so many delicious options. Nothing too crazy, but all their sandwiches/wraps/burgers are awesome. I go here regularly, including every Wednesday for trivia. Because of this, I have seen good and bad in terms of service. There is one waitress (a little bit older, short dark hair) in particular who has been rude multiple times, does not know the specials, and generally does not seem to care about the guests here. Actually, many times the servers do not relay the accurate special and that has been an issue for us. However, there are many who are awesome, and the Black and Blue burger is the best burger I've ever eaten. The weekend entertainment in the Fuel Room is also fantastic. Overall, a fun bar/restaurant with awesome food, but service could be improved.

They don't serve Miller Lite - 'nuff said. Ok, after I got over that, I had to get over their $5 bottles of domestic beer. They probably cranked the prices since there was a band playing, but seriously? $5 for a domestic in the far suburbs? Funk that. I give them a three for the Fuel Room (concerts), their patio, and decent-sized open area by the bar. They do a good job of limiting the buffoonery that can go on in a small venue as well. The food is on-par with bar food if you're just getting sandwiches or salads, and it's decently priced.

Stopped by here today for lunch, after not having been here for over 10 years. Decor hasn't changed over the years, and after what used be classified as "passable", is now dated. Server came to take our order 3 minutes after we got there, and we asked for some time to read the extensive menu. After settling on what we both wanted, we looked for our server, who kept passing by, ignoring us. We finally got his attention after a good 10 minutes (the place was 25% full), and he wanted to argue about our "not being ready" when he first stopped by. I order the burger, my friend orders a pork sandwich. I notice that both come with a choice of soup, salad, fries, sweet potato fries, and a few other choices. I'm impressed, as most of these types of places offer nothing with their sandwiches. Both my friend and I order one of the soups, a cheesy tortilla. When it arrives, it's delicious, but has the consistency of snot. My burger arrives, her pork sandwich arrives with some overdone fries. We eat, and it's largely tasteless. I'm discouraged to notice the ketchup is a no name house brand. Who does that anymore? And with a $9 burger? Come on! We finish, and the bill arrives. I ask the waiter why there's a charge for the soup, when it comes with the meal? "Because your friend ordered the fries", he replies. What? The SOUP was her choice, we all knew that. They just wanted to pull a quick one, and refused to take it off the bill. Avoid this place like the plague, unless you're part of the 20-something crowd this place is now catering to that just doesn't care about good service.

Nice place indeed for dinner with friends. If you like food that is just a little bit colder than you would like. Mind me, not cold - just a tad colder. And drinks that are delivered a tad later. And a waitress that looks at you as if you a nuisance. On a brighter side Austin's Fuel Room features quite a display of all the senseless memorabilia you would find in a general eatery. Vague paper clips, obscure photos and some model of a vehicle suspended to the ceiling. The music is too loud - it is not possible to have any decent conversation, unless you want everybody else be a part of it, I mean. The band was all right - if you prefer cognitive dissonance. And yes - if you are late to leave, you will be told not to slacker and get off the property in terms that will make you wonder how long it will take you to forget them to consider return.

I go here about once a month. I always a get a burger and they've always been good. However, the fries were soggy and flavorless. Service could also be better, but it can get pretty busy so it's understandable. It's not the best choice, but it's a good choice.

Alright, listen up! This was the best $15 I have spent in a very long time! Yes, we could have gotten the VIP tickets and sat up in the balcony and had open bar,blah,blah,blah...But...we got up close and personal with the bands, rocked out and had a freakin' BLAST!! I have seen a lot of live music over the years. I have had back stage passes and also been in some pretty divey places. The reason to go see a band is to SEE them, feel the music and have fun!! If I want to sit on my butt and act like a lump,I may as well stay home. The drinks were reasonable and the bar was well stocked. They had Snow Queen vodka, many places don't...so...all good in my book. We had dinner before the show. The food was decent, better than I had anticipated by other reviews. Would I go out of my way to eat here? Probably not, but, for convenience,it was just fine! The bands were all great and the sound was surprisingly good for a smaller venue.I think the management does a good job with staffing and keeping the riff raff to a minimum.(ladies...really....just because the lead singer gets you up onstage for a shot..it does not mean he wants to marry you..or even see you after the show...) We had a great time and will definitely return to Austin's Fuel Room to see a show!

Been here for lunch with some co-workers and we all had good food. Not a place I'd go out of my way to get to, but it's worth it if you're in the area. WILL Rock 95.1 in Kenosha also hosts a lot of concerts here too. So if you're into the rock scene you might want to check out what they've got going on in their Fuel Room. austinsaloon.com

In figuring out my plans for NYE i thought about how and where i spent last NYE, which was Austin's. First way too many people and not enough staff. And the staff there seemed a little bit disconnected with what was going on, but that just could have been because of the enormous amount of people...and maybe the snow storm had something had something to do with it!. The offer was simple: hotel room, and a shuttle to and from Austin's, some app's and your booze was taken care of...not to mention you got to listen to cover band Mike and Joe all night, which is never a bad way to spend a drunken night. The Austin staff took care of everything pretty well as far as tickets and hotel stuff, and the hotels were even cool. The shuttle service was slow, but again, snow storm, and the ride to Austin's may have been the scariest ride i'd ever been on...who goes 70 on icy, windy roads in a snow storm??? Nevertheless it was a great set up and plan, minus the enormous crowd which caused waiting for booze to take longer...longer than you'd even want to read about. My friend's wife got in line for drinks at 11pm and the next time we saw her was well after midnight. or if this helps, i enetered the beer line weighing 300lbs and by the time i got served and met my friends i was a sweaty 130lbs lighter. How about fewer people next time, please??? Overall it was a great NYE idea, with a great set up and an awesome NYE band. If you have a group and want to party for cheap on NYE this is definitely a great idea (be warned of all the 21 and 22 year olds in the hotel!!!!! You'd sweear it was spring break cancun 98 all over again.)

This restaurant is a perfect representative of the failures of the human spirit. This establishment wants to be all things to all people. If they were trying to remind me of what I hate about being a human, they succeeded. We pulled into this joint and noticed the word "saloon" in the title, my expectations were low, but I was sure I could get a burger and a beer. There was a fire pit outside for the smokers, saloon doors as you walk in, and they were busy. I asked if we could sit in the bar and order and we were told no, we were given a beeper and we went into the bar and ordered two beers. There were about twenty TV's on, they were tuned onto seven different stations, from the Olympics to Reruns of music award shows. There were teens dressed in suits and dresses, representing the dismal future of our fair country. Families out for a weekend dinner, singles trolling for love, signs on the wall reminiscent of a vacation spot, a bin of ice displaying four tired looking giant steaks, which was quite the playground for a child I assume to have had OCD or some similar affliction. He could not leave the meat alone, it must be touched, while his mother dragged him out he kept lunging and finally got a finger onto that steak and immediately licked his fingers. To me he seemed like the only person in there, not pretending to be anything other than himself. When the manger took us to our table my friend and I noticed he was on the verge of a mental break down, jittery, spastic and dismissive, I inquired about the beer we ordered and he told us not to "worry about it". I didn't know what that meant so I rephrased the question to, "will we be getting our beers? I need to know if I should reorder them." He seemed quite preoccupied and didn't want to spend another second with us, he told us to reorder and sped away. Our waitress came over, a very attractive lady with a nice demeanor, she was slammed and gave us great service, (she accounts for two of the three stars) we ordered our beer and one minute later our other beers came, I tried to tell the bar back to take them away but he split. For our meal I kept it simple, a Greek salad, my buddy had a Campfire chicken. Prices were reasonable and the food was fine. Although I suspect they use that pre-marinated/injected chicken, the kind that remains perpetually juicy no matter how much you abuse it. We settled our tab and moved to the bar for a couple of drinks. Beer was pricey $3.50 for a miller product, after two rounds they ran out of all Miller products. I was only drinking this swill to save money and to blend in with the locals, now they are out. I assume they limit the Miller because of some deal with Bud, but the Bud shit was the same price. The bar was full of poseurs, a sea of vapidity was circling around s as we spoke of liquidating inventory and moving to the mountains. A twenty something broke into dance while the shitty Pop music got louder and louder. A frat boy looking fellow made rounds dressed like the guy from Reno 911 on roller skates, an attention whore of the third degree. I found the service amongst these losers to be stellar. In the bathroom I came across balding business men, teens in suits gargling the spinach leaves out of their teeth, college boys on coke, and wanna be hipsters with tight jeans and converse. Is this really the place all of these people want to be? This place was packed, there is also a club in the Back called Fuel. On the menu I had noticed in all the confusion, a Heavy Metal theme, mixed in with the Cowboy theme, vacation theme, route 66 theme, and family dining sports bar night club theme. Confused? Imagine how confused I am listening to my own words. I know this is the last place I ever want to be. They should add one more theme, Staycation theme. Stay away.

I was very excited to come and dine and catch a band at this place, especially making the trip from Chicago. The service was awful. Once my party of 5 was seated and had our drink orders taken, it took the waitress 20 mins to take our food order. We almost decided on leaving. Our food order took too long given the fact only there was only 1 steak order. The food is mediocre and the steak that was asked to be cook medium-well was very undercooked. We asked the waitress to have it cooked a bit more and gave us attitude. After dinner, we decided to see the band playing at the Fuel Room. They required for coats to be checked while even though the area was freezing cold. There were only 2 bartenders behind the bar and waiting for drinks was a hassle. Also seemed that certain people were given priority than others. There were many drunk people as expected, but there was a particular person that was rude and purposely bumping and pushing people during the show. We complained to the security guard and pointed out the person that had knocked over my friend and another woman intentionally. The guard claimed that he saw no problem and simply ignored us. We asked to speak to the manager/owner and we were told that he would be called upon. We waited close to the guard for about half an hour and nobody showed up. Later on, we noticed people walking in with their coats on and we decided to get ours from the coat check since it was too cold. Upon re-entering the fuel room from the upstairs coat check, the person checking wristbands did not allow us in. We pointed out the many people that had heavy coats on but we were not allowed anyway. We decided to leave this establishment since the night had already started out on a bad note with dinner. I would not recommend this place at all. There is poor management and it seems like the manager/owner does not care about customer satisfaction at all, let alone their own safety.

Nothing write home about. Standard food. Bar atmosphere. Drinks are nice and strong, probably to distract from the mediocre cuisine. Ribs are pretty tasty and their steaks are actually in between outback and Morton's.

This place is a staple for us on Wednesday nights. All you can eat fajitas is awesome! You choose between chicken and beef but most waiters will let you switch between the two. I personally love the chicken fajitas. Keep in mind that even though this is all you can eat, they will not give you any more tortillas unless you pay. I would also recommend the "Bucket of Gold" as the appetizer. The waiter staff is decent but disconnected most of the time. If it wasn't for the fajita's I wouldn't come here.

In the past 6 months, my group of friends and I have had 4 large group parties at Austins. For the first 3 parties, we ate in the restaurant and then each paid the server or doorman $25-$28 bucks for a bracelet for drinks upstairs with our group. Things were fine, we had a good time....no problems. We even took the shuttle once which was an extra $16 per person and it was great! Until the 4th party. We recently had my friends bacherlorette party there and were given a price of $24.95 per person. When we got there, the person at the door made us collect the money from each person in the doorway to pay all together. 20 girls paid $24.95 each for the party and when we brought him the money he said "the total was going to be $660". We had no idea where he got that number from as there was no commitment to any number of people. On their website it states...."minimum for a party is 20"....which we had. First problem obviously. Next we go to the balcony and begin our party, and the server tell the first girls she was "just going to bring out a bunch of vodka cranberries". The girls asked if they could order specific drinks and she said...."I'll be right back". She returns with a tray full of vodka cranberries and NO ONE wanted them. I personally told her to take them back and take everyone's order for what they would like to drink. She left the vodka cranberries on a table and they sat there the entire night. Later on in the evening, our guests asked the server for water. He response..."I don't bring you any water, you can go down stairs and purchase it for $2 a bottle". This is completely unacceptable, however some of the girls went on down and purchased water. The last issue I have is that we were told that to eat dinner there it would be a $50 reservation fee, which would not go towards our final bill. We had had 3 parties there previously of 20+ people and were never charged a reservation fee. We spend upward of $1,500 when we eat (and pay for drinks) for dinner, why charge a fee of $50. In the past, this has been a great place to go and have fun.....especially with our large group, however we will NOT be going back. I had even considered my bachelorette party there, but that is not going to happen now. Not to mention, this place also completely mis schedule a huge corporate party from my work that was for more than 250 people and a performance group!!!! Didn't even have our party on their schedule!!! We attempted talking to the owner and got no where with him. He issued a $100 gift card to come back there, which we will never use. He also told us that we were lying about the water situation, like who would make up something like that! Be aware of this place if you are trying to book a party there, they are unorganized, unprofessional, and they WILL NOT give you anything in writing to book your party. There is a reason for that.

I have driven past Austins for over a year and actually got around to eating here , I regret it took me so long. I really liked Austins, the menu selections were fairly diverse. I ordered the Calamari , which was very good, and came with fried peppers and onions mixed in. The empanadas were really good as well, I ordered the chicken variety, and I would definitely order both appetisers again. The half BBQ chicken was very good, probably some of the best chicken I've had. I have to say I will make it a point to go here more often.

The food ranges from barely passable to fairly good, but the service is poor & INCREDIBLY slow--& since it's mostly burgers, sandwiches & salads the slow service is even more ridiculous. I've only gone here for work lunches, but I probably wouldn't go on my own. 3 for the food, zero for the service, but I rounded up since they do get some bands & live music (none that I've seen since I live in the city).

Wow i'm shocked by some of the negative reviews! We love Austin's and the food is great! It is a fun place to go out at night too as they always have top notch entertainment. Austin's is also a great supporter of community events and driving home drunk patrons instead of them getting behind the wheel. More establishments in libertyville should offer this to keep the streets safe!

The only reason I started going to Austins is because it was the only non-smoking venue in the area! Also the Fuel room in the back is a fun time! I wouldn't go there if I actually wanted to drink. The service SUCKS at this bar and they don't have Miller Lite! Other than it being convenient- I wouldn't recommend it.

I've been here once and will never go back. We decided to go on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find that kids eat free on sundays. Which was a huge plus because the meals (spaghetti and quesadilla) looked terrible and my kids (who would eat nearly anything) were unsatisfied. Not to mention that these sub par kids meals were listed as 8.99 on the menu. So my husband an I decided to get burgers that night. The meat was low quality and the burger was so bland tasting neither of us finished our meals.

Not a big meal eater but has a good wait staff and has a friendly environment. Saloon is a great name for it but it is good for young people and also earlier for whole families. Alot of good food.

Affordable steaks, good salads, western style bar atmosphere. Great for meeting friends for a casual drink.

The food is really good but there is one bartender that completely ignores women who sit at the bar. Kinda funny because I tip better than a lot of people.

Horrible Service when the place was empty, Imagine when its crowded,- Slow Waitress, Not Nice- Had a group of us- I asked about the Slider Special on Tuesday and she told me I had to order the special at the bar.

I am impressed with Austin's! Been there 3 times over the last month, I'm addicted to the portabello sandwich - perfectly made and the toppings are creative. Great decor, fun dining area. This is a family friendly place but also has a fun bar.

  • Amy C.

After the party planning difficulty, it went off without a hitch! Austin's ultimately honored their website details. It was stressful but the bride to be had a fantastic time!
