this particular chipotle joint, i think, is better than other places. why? i cant pinpoint exactly, but has to do with salty lvl, freshness, and not burnt FOOD. really, i want to love every chipotle, but others fail at either their FOOD being - too salty, too old (sitting in heated pan too long), burnt, or combination of all of three. i only gave 4 star because sometimes they skimp on meat. if you sometimes give a good portion of steak i want that to be consistent, you know? lol. otherwise, what can possibly go horribly wrong at chipotle? oh, and be aware this place gets packed lunch/dinner times. recommended!

Tiny portions and rude staff! The size of the burritos that I received were the smallest that I've ever seen out of all the Chipotle restaurants. The amount of chips that I found inside of that bag for my chips and guacamole order was pathetic. You would get more chips out of a tiny Doritos bag in a vending machine. The turd of a manager who runs this place must be telling these employes to go cheap on the food. Don't go to this one. The one in Wheeling is much better.

This location rushes you through the line too fast and gives you less than other Chipotle locations. I know it's in a busy area, but you still have a certain expectation level. The food is great, but the experience doesn't satisfy.

I have been very fond of Chipotle for the past few years. I ususally order a chicken Burrito Bol, but have been very dissatisfied with the quality of the chicken during the last several visits. Their chicken has been very fatty meat lately. This isn't even the worst part. I recently got very sick with food poisoning the night of my last Chipotle visit (early February). I swore off Chipotle, but love it so much I was about to return, until my best friend (and her husband) both got very sick this past weekend, the next day (after eating at THIS Chipotle). I'd say the Kildeer Chipotle managers need to stress the importance of employees washing hands A LOT MORE!!!

there is not much to say here other then the place never disappoints me. Consistant and very good!

Chipotle when done well great to eat. Staff here are ok, sometimes rushes people when there's a line and end up skipping sections of the options. Overall it's ok when they don't make the white rice really watery and don't burn the chicken. Chicken is burned a lot of times. Unless you like the burnt taste might want to stay away from the chicken.

Terrible, just terrible. Ordered online to pick up almost an hour later. Food still not ready for pickup when I arrived. Got home and 1/4 of my order was not in the bag, meat in the burrito I did get was ice cold. "Manager in charge" when I called back = dumb as rocks. Will not be going back!

Robert is the best manager! They made an error on an earlier catering order and Robert came through on his promise to make the situation right. I think I just found my new favorite chipotle.

All the the employees are inexperienced and lazy. Waited 30 minutes in line because they didn't have the chicken cooked. All of the employees were standing around twiddling their thumbs.

You don't realize how much customer service counts in a chain restaurant until you've visited different locations....I normall go to the Chipotle that's right by Petland, but I happened to be going past Deer Park and went to this one. Terrible. My Korean side of my family makes this super sticky rice that I can't stand, and that's what their rice was like. One huge glob. And the people working there are all teens that care more about their social life than taking care of their customers. Thanks for a waste of money and time

Things have been improving. Portions are back to normal and the service is very pleasant. I think there is a new manager.

  • Ash A.

Mehh - just like other Chipotle's that lure you in with decent portions, this one has too made their portions super tiny. Go elsewhere with your 11$!

Love the food at Chipotle but I think the Rosemont location is the best one. I only gave it a "3" & not a "4" because at times the Barbacoa meat is not as juicy.

I typically admire the Chipotle teams for their teamwork, speed and professionalism. This Chipotle was the opposite. From the first employee on the line to the last, they were rude and unprofessional (even to the point of intention snarky comments to me and about other customers). I had to force an employee to go back and offer me options he entirely skipped over, as he practically threw my bowl down the line. An employee ordering lunch in front of us was pretending to be an "obnoxious customer" and had her co-workers walk her through every option on the menu, was making absurd requests (such as combining the salsa and sour cream and shaking it up for her) and ultimately slowing the entire line of customers down significantly. Overall, a brand experience that will prevent me from ever going back to that location. If I didn't know it wasn't the norm, I might never go to a Chipotle again.

Hubby and teen #1 went here while the rest of the family ate at Potbelly's. Both had a bowl... one steak, one chicken. They also had chips and salsa. Of course, they both enjoyed their meals. We have a family joke that we make every time someone eats at Chipotle 1 burrito at Chipotle = $4.50 Add sour cream and guac = $142,532.50 Not that it matters, those two (teen #1 and hubby) will eat there anyway.

My husband and I made a last minute decision on Tuesday night to get dinner at Chipotle after getting gas filled at Costco before the polar vortex arrived. I had never eaten at this location. Walking in the inside door entryway it was covered in salt and water with a yellow sign indicating wet floor. At least they put the caution sign up, but I thought it was unprofessional to leave the entryway a mess especially during the dinner rush. We arrived just in time before a long line started forming behind us. It seemed like they had a hard time keeping up with the customers. My husband's burrito was ripping and they were planning on just giving my husband his burrito with the food falling out of the tortilla. My husband had to ask them for an additional tortilla instead of it being offered and an option to him. If he hadn't asked for an additional tortilla they were going to give him the burrito with everything falling out of it. We found a place to sit but it was FREEZING in the place. I don't know if the heating system wasn't working or what, but I wanted to wear my winter coat and couldn't because I would get the food all over the sleeves of my coat. At least the food was warm, but because of how FREEZING the place was it didn't stay warm for long. At the time the food tasted good, but by the next morning my husband and I both had upset stomachs from the place. I was planning on making this a healthy option with their organic products used and making burrito bowls there, but after my last expensive, and the after effects I think it's going to be awhile until I have Chipotle again.

Let me clarify. Food is 5 stars (as all Chipotle is in my books). However, the line at this location is BRUTAL! I have left, after waiting in line for 10-15 minutes, (multiple times), and gone elsewhere. Worst staffed / run Chipotle I have ever visited, and I make it a point to eat chipotle 1-2x per week. Bummer, as it is the closest location to my home.

This is the WORST Chipotle location I have ever vistited. When it first opened up, it was alright, but like other's have said, in the last couple years it has gone completely down hill. Every time I come here is a nightmare. I could think long and hard and still honestly have nothing positive to say about it. I'm just done with this place. Some aspects cannot be changed, but the main problem is staff. The staff consists of clueless bratty kids. It's like a revolving door. I come here and I am serviced by a new bratty kid who has no people skills and no knowledge on how to prepare food. It's like they strive for the most unqualified candidates during the hiring process. I've been starred down and confronted by a teen when my order was misunderstood. My food is always put together in a very sloppy, unbalanced manner. Just today, I waited in a line about 3 deep during a slow time for almost 15 min while we watched five teen staff walk around behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. People in front of me were looking at each other like "what's going on?". When it was my turn, I probably waited another 5 min for my burrito to be prepared because someone knocked over a tub of sour cream and the five teens just danced around it until the one person who was preparing my food picked it up. The mild salsa was not given even a millisecond to drain before doused on my burrito. The counter my food was prepared on was dirty, all full of toppings. Kid rolling it had no idea what she was doing, ripped it, then asked me "Your burrito ripped, what do you want me to do?" I said " Just wrap it with an extra layer of foil" instead she wrapped it with more tortilla and it was still oozing out the ends. Other key negatives of this location.... LOCATION - Good luck getting in and out of this place. This entire shopping area is a poorly designed and over populated cluster. Population - Even with a 2 1/2 star overall rating, people still come here. I don't understand it. Some days and times, there is a line coming out the door that goes to the door of the neighboring (Potbelly). It's terrible. So many other good restaurants in the area. Barbacoa - Lot's of fat. When I say that I mean, you may end up with half meat and half fat. I know Chipotle advertises their meats to be "locally" raised. This location either gets the worst cuts, or whom ever supposedly "shreds" the beef does not do a very good job disecting the fat. It's gross. Bottom Line: If you are in the NW burbs and have a Chipotle craving, I would suggest going to another location, even if it's a further proximity. Unless you don't mind heavy traffic, long lines and waits, rude, inexperienced children preparing your food, and fatty barbacoa. I have had good luck at the Crystal Lake location.

I ordered a salad bowl and they gave me about a half cup of lettuce. Ok that's really what you are going to skimp on? Anyway, going through the line with my "to go" order, it was okay for the most part, but the servers seemed especially impatient with each question. I guess it's sort of irritating to actually have to wait on people although that is your job right? Honestly this was some of the most impersonal service I've received in a really long time, it was like I was intruding on the servers personal time to...I guess...do nothing? Not sure. Anyway, when I grabbed my bag when I got home, a pretty large amount of salsa or whatever liquid spilled all over my car and my pants, thanks for taking the couple of seconds to seal my takeout container, Chipotle employees! Definitely not my preferred location.

I love Chipolte!!! But not this location. EVERY TIME I eat at this location the line is extremely long and the employees do not work fast enough. The tables are always dirty and when I ask an employee to clean them I get the eye roll and attitude. The portion size is ridiculously small in comparison to other locations. You will get a half scoop of rice and meat. Not even enough to cover the bottom of the bowl. I'm so disappointed as this one is closest to my house. The up-charge for a full scoop of meat is also crazy! I usually pay about $10 for one bowl... I'd like it to be filled. That's not too much to ask! Imagine going to McDonald's.. ordering a large coke and receiving a 1/2 full cup Unacceptable!!!

I frequent Chipotle a couple of times a month when I'm stuck at work late and a burrito bowl sounds just too good. Usually I would say my experience is between 3 and 4 star. Not so at this location. Everything is always way too salty or seasoned differently- at least compared to the usual sodium levels of Chipotle restaurants. What gives?

    (2)
  • J C.

Needs a better way to wait. There is no seats to sit in while waiting. For five minutes, we had to wait outside because it was so crowded. Service seems very slow..Took 15 minutes to get to the same wall where u can order the food?

Been coming here for years and lately each time same experience : quality of food deteriorating, my steak hard shell tacos were so soggy that a pool if liquid was at bottom of basket. Meat was so fatty and chewy I had to spit it out. Brought basket of liquid to Manager and all he said was " yeah, way too soggy" They are falling away from their core concept. A lunchroom cafeteria would be better

Would give half star if I could. This is the worst chipotle restaurant. The amount that goes into the burrito is not even worth eating. They get smaller and smaller every time I go in. I ask why are the portions so small, one smartass says it's the company. The chipotle by Woodfield has never change. So that's just untrue. Will not be coming back at all, better off at a different chipotle. Also their customer service skills sucks.

This is the WORST Chipotle I have been to. I have been here on multiple occasions because it's the nearest Chipotle to my girlfriend's place. Every time it has sucked. The employees literally throw on the ingredients as fast as they can (even in times when there is no one there!) and the quality sucks! Last time I went the rice was HARD. It was disgusting! The Chipotle rice is one of my favorite parts of the burrito (next to the chicken), but it was very unappetizing. I've always been very disappointed. Not to mention, the tables are never very clean. For one of my favorite restaurants, I'm saddened by this.

The servers here are lazy, the portions of meat and food they put in my burrito were much smaller than any other chipotle ive been to! Trust me i love chipotle BUT NOT THIS ONE!! Every other chipotle gives you about twice the amount of meat than this location! Everyntime ive gone there they always skimp on the meat big time, im sure this is because the owner tells them to use less meat to save him money.. They also were lazy about changing the rice, they gave us rice that was sitting there all day, was the very bottom of the container and it was HARD! The girl was too lazy to ask for new rice when she knew it was old and hard... You guys really need to get your act together and quit skimping people on the meat and other ingredients.. I will never go to this location again, the burrito i recieved was TINY, i was like wow thanks for the Taco! I will never go here again, not even if they gave me free food... I asked for extra meat since they didnt want to give me the proper amount of meat and the guy put only two small extra pieces of meat on my burrito.. Every other chipotle i go to has massive burritos and thats what i love, but this place gave me tiny burritos every single time.... Waste of my time and money! The burrito looked like it was little kid size! Horrible guys you are not living up to chipotle standards, if i was chipotle corporate id chew you a new one.

Steak chunks are usually okay but in every meal there's one that's overly fatty or one full of tendons. Still hits the spot and tastes better than Moe's.

I am a big fan of the Chipotle in Kildeer. I was there recently and have always had the chicken burrito bowl. One of the staff members was very nice and asked me about trying other flavors, and I sampled steak, pork and barbacoa. She really took her time which was much appreciated. Great service, very tasty food and highly recommended location!

Small portions. Always have to ask for more ingredients. Go to Moes southwest grill at Deer Park. Great food, very generous portions and free chips and salsa.

Pros: Always fast, always friendly, always give me lots of my desired barbacoa and don't stiff me on my margaritas. The dining area is always clean and the servers seem to get along okay with their new dorky white-guy manager (fourth this year.) Cons: Having to drive to Deer Park and refrain from stressing credit limit at evil Barnes and Noble, Circuit City, etc. Overall: I would ride my bike here from downtown Barrington if I had to. Tomatillo is a cruel mistress.

Love chipotle, that's why I have given this location so many opportunities. Most timeS when I've order on online to have my order ready for pick up, during my lunch break. The order hasn't even been made, ready. Even if I go 15 minutes later my food is never ready. I talked to the supervisor every time and they tell me that it won't happen again and apologized. Yet again for the fifth time it happened this is ridiculous. I don't understand why the online order is offered for this location if they can't commit to having the food done at all. Never going to this location again horrible staff.

I absolutely love Chipotle, but this location is BY FAR the worst one we have been to. My boyfriend and I go to Chipotle every Sunday, but this one is so slow. They never have food when they run out. You always have to wait for them to cook food when they run out. They usually don't have enough people working in the back to help you and they skimp on everything. They never put in enough food to make it worth your money. When I get a bowl, they don't even put enough rice to cover the bottom. Every other Chipotle location I have been to has food in the kitchen ready for when they run out and they have much faster workers that get through everyones orders.

  • Brian K.

I've eaten at a dozen different locations. This is the 3rd time at this location over the past 6 months. Every time the line out the door and it takes 15 minutes to order your food. Today they had one person working the line, one cashier, and four people cooking. #firstworldproblems

I've always loved Chipotle, but my experience at this location is enough to turn me off to the franchise as a whole. My diet of choice is paleo, which means I do not get rice or beans in my burrito bowl. I rely on the line-worker to give me a reasonable amount of meat as it makes up most of my meal. This time around, not only was the amount she served up less than generous, but is was less than the full scoop that was owed to me. I asked her if she thought that was a fair amount, especially considering I was not getting any rice or beans. She told me that if I wanted more, it would be an "extra-meat up-charge". I'm often willing to pay this up-charge, but not when I haven't been given my fair portion to begin with. I gave her a few more chances to make the situation right, but ultimately walked out empty-handed, pissed off, and hungry. Again, I wasn't asking for free extra meat, just my fair share. Your prices are already outrageous -- at least help customers feel like they are getting their hard earned moneys worth.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
