I feel like this place is getting such a bad rap! We recently moved to Huntley and on our first weekend in town we checked this place out! Turns out Pub 47 is also new in town. So I will say, when a new place opens up I like to cut it some slack especially in the service department--the servers and cooks and bartenders are still trying to get everything figured out and there might be some hiccups. On our first visit, we took my parents out for lunch. The owner actually came over to our table to welcome us and tell us the the special drinks they were serving that day. I thought that was a really nice touch and he sold all 4 of us on a drink! The drinks sounded so good when he described them and I really enjoyed my sangria! We were sitting in the bar area and although it was busy, we had great service there. The menu has A LOT of options. I would actually argue that there are too many options and they should consider cutting back. It does seem like they are just in too many different places at once. I really do like the wraps and sandwiches options though because that is what I am looking for when I go to a pub or bar. Anyway I ordered the Southwestern wrap and I really loved it. My mom ordered the same thing but felt "meh" about it so I tried hers and figured out they had forgotten the dressing. Oops. Since her wrap was more than half gone we ended up not saying anything about it. I visited a second time with my husband on a Friday night and this place was busy! I had the French onion soup which was amazing (with a crap load of cheese how can you go wrong) and pulled pork sliders. My husband tried a Whiskey Stone Sour off the drink menu and it was great! We ended up recreating them at home later! Service was great again and this time there was nothing wrong with the food! I really like the food and the atmosphere at this place. It is honestly a bar where I feel like I could go and hang out and have drinks and not feel out of place.

This place is very popular with the parking lot always full. Food is very good. More upscale but prices are not too bad. Salads were excellent with homemade dressing. The French Onion soup was very good, not overly salty with much flavor and crouton that wasn't too soggy before finishing. Service was great and loved the "create your own" Bloody Mary.

Came on a Sunday for lunch. Bloody Mary's were good. Build your own. Sort of fun. We ordered the sampler platter and as it sounded good on the menu. When we got it. It was a ton of Home made chips. 2 chicken wings. 2 chicken tenders. The shrimp were small but a lot and Calamari was ok. Sort of Disapointed

Rough start. Tried a couple more times but still issues. Will give it one more try. First time we went was opening day. Understandably busy but the staff didn't know where to seat us in a half empty restaurant. By the time we left it was packed. Ordered drinks that never arrived. Wife ordered pizza but by the time they gave her utensils it was cold. Next time we went it wasn't as busy but the server was trying to figure out how to use the tablet for a bit too long. The last time my wife ordered Mac n cheese but when it came out it was soupy and cold.

Had some friends come into town a few weeks back and decided to give this place a try. I was extremely impressed with the atmostphere. I have drove past the place since it opened a few times. It was surprising considering previous businesses at the location. I was surprised by the menu and foods. My dish was great, and everyone i was with enjoyed their dinner. Also had a unqiue appetizer which was pretty cool. Totally different from previous business in the location.

Our first visit! Fresh homemade bread with maple butter, to start. Had the slider combo plater: pulled pork, cheese burger and grilled chicken with chicken corn chowder soup as a side. The fries are amazing! Really great food! Nice menu, great variety, great price. Eric is great server, total win for Huntley!!

We came out here ion the recommendation of a friend. I see the bad reviews but wonder what the deal is with those. The location of Pub 47 is off the beaten path in a crappy strip center. Walking in, the entryway is a bit odd and easy to miss. Once inside it has a sharp contemporary interior, a mix of bar & dining room. Our service was really good and so was the food. My girlfriend got the Penne Pasta. It was good but a bit bland. It was big bowl so she ended up taking some home too. I had a beer and the "3 Pulled Pork Sliders" and they were really good. So far I'm only one visit here but we'll be back. It's 15 mi or so from my house.

Great addition to the neighborhood! Friendly and attentive staff across the board. Kaitlyn was fabulous. We order cocktails and decided to try a pizza. Thin crust sausage and mushroom pizza. It was perfect. Chef came out to check on us which showed us how much they care. We will certainly come back I really need to edit my first review. Not sure why I was so positive the first go around and I learned my lesson. This place is good only if everything else in the area is full. Food is basic and staff is subpar.

Great atmosphere! The manager was very nice and offered great hospitality greeting us at the door, telling us about the restaurant and stopping by 2x to see how our meal was. So glad to have this restaurant in Huntley.

Just ehhh for the price! Not much to say! The interior is nice, but they don't use the A/C on hot days. Food is average, I'd have to say the pizza is ok though. Mixed drinks, go elsewhere. I'm sorry, I really wanted to luv this place.

I have nothing but wonderful service every time I visit Pub47. The NY strip is the best around and the specialty drinks are amazing (Huntley old fashioned is my favorite!) definitely worth 5 stars!!!

Just finished dinner for the first time here and was impressed based on some of the reviews. Had tacos and quesadillas and wife had Chicken & Goat cheese with peppers. Excellent food, perfect sized portions, very attentive service and the GM was warm and welcoming also when he visited our table. No clue why people are complaining about the food we thought it was excellent. We will be back for sure!

Good IPA beer. I had the beef stroganoff which was OK but not great. Others in our group liked their food more than I but have to go with my plate. Very warm inside, almost uncomfortable. I'd still go back however I'll try something else next time.

I have been there twice now in both times the food presentation is beautiful and taste fantastic! The nachos are huge in the chips flavor is incredible. I also tried the Asian salad which is also large enough to take half home and tastes great. Both times the service has been prompt and attentive. It currently is my favorite restaurant around exclamation

A coworker mentioned how she has eaten here before and she had a great experience. So I decided to try it out, I always love to eat and try to places. Now, she did dine-in and I ordered carry out so maybe this effects the quality of the meal (it shouldn't). The process started out unprofessional and weird. I called in my order and it took a while. From me telling them what I want, to finding out my total took way too long. I first spoke to one person who took my order then I was transferred to someone else who was supposed to give me a total. While I was "put on hold" by the second person, I heard everything they were saying. It was unprofessional and unorganized. The person even said "this is such a mess". My thought was "if the ordering process is a mess and unorganized, I wonder how my food will be". After receiving my order (half soup, half salad) I was unsatisfied. Let's just say, Huntley doesn't offer many good food options anyway, and this didn't sway my opinion. My Cesar salad was drenched in dressing that seemed watered down :(. I ordered salmon to add to the salad which seemed like a fancy option...it wasn't. It was plain and tasteless. On top of that, the price for the salmon as an add-on was inconsistent (yelp) had a pic of the menu and it said $4 yet they told me $5. Seems like a huge rip-off for the quality and taste. One bright side to my lunch was the French onion soup wasn't bad. Would I come back here? Most likely not. They don't even have the hours open on yelp. It took me three calls until someone answered at noon. I was first wondering if they even are open for lunch, apparently they are but I couldn't find the hours anywhere and no one answered the first few calls.

First visit to this Establishment. Courteous staff, although we happened to get a slow inexperienced server, she was very pleasant so it was not horrible. The mussels and clams appetizer was by far the poorest I have had, and I've eaten Them at dozens of restaurants in the area . The cooks seem to be in love with salt. My wife ordered a chicken with wild rice soup that was too salty for her and she likes food on the salty side. We also had the "world famous Mac n cheese". Average at best. The good news, steak sandwich was good and the sliders ,while overcooked had good flavor. Over all very unimpressed, rookies does it better . Very odd set up in the restaurant area. May try it one more time down the road.

This was my second visit in recent weeks. My first visit was on a Wednesday evening and we ordered their homemade pizza. Service was good until food was brought to the table. When we desired water refills the service was nowhere to be found. Pizza was hot, thin like I like it, and tasty. Sausage had nice flavor. Sauce was a bit bland which seems to be a theme here. Today I came in for a quick lunch with my daughter who had the pulled pork sandwich. Sauce was a bit bland for our taste and the pork was decent but would likely not order again. The "homemade" Italian beef was dry and had no flavor. This was more "French dip" than Italian beef. There was no traditional oregano/garlic juice, just dry dry dry meat and a side of au jus which also had no flavor. Won't order this again as it was poorly prepared. Service was Ok except I REALLY needed some hot something to kill the bland. Waitress forgot to bring it out and it was 15 minutes before she finally brought it out. Overall so far not impressed. Order the pizza.

Last night was actually my second trip to Pub 47. I was so excited that a new place was opening up close to home. The first visit was last Thursday night. When we first walked in i was impressed with what was done to the interior. It was warm and inviting. We were seated, there were 5 of us (3 adults 2 kids). I ordered the cod dinner with asparagus, the girls ordered the build your own pizza. The other two adults got the salmon & hamburger. We were very impressed with the menu. There were some really good options & it all sounded great. Our server was very nice & attentive but a bit scattered. I dismissed that because it is a new place & a new ordering system. When our food arrived we were all a bit disappointed. My asparagus consisted of two miniscule over cooked droopy stalks that were tossed across my plate, my friends salmon was clearly over cooked & dry with an odd stalk of rosemary sticking out of it, the hamburger had a huge clump of guacamole on top & the pizza the kids ordered was wrong. The food tasted ok, not horrible but clearly not as good as the menu descriptions sounded! I decided to not write a review based on this visit and give it one more shot before i wrote a review. My second visit was Saturday night and the place was very busy... A good sign! My husband and i decided to go out for drinks & appetizers. We sat at the bar and ordered 3 items. First we ordered drinks, nothing fancy, my husband got a beer & i got a vodka cranberry. Then we ordered the crab cakes, beef skewers, & rock shrimp. I liked the crab cakes, my husband did not. There was a lot of filling & very little crab which bothered him but the flavor was good so i was fine with it. The rock shrimp were pretty good, very generic and nothing special but I liked them. The beef skewers where another story. I was really excited for those because they were supposed to have a horseradish sauce, which I love. I was so disappointed, the skewers were so drenched in sauce you could hardly tell there was meat under it and there was not even a hint of horseradish. The sauce was so bland and boring. To summarize, the atmosphere is good, the service is good, the menu sounds fantastic but is very poorly executed. We will try it again because we are so badly hoping that we will have a good restaurant close to home without going to Randall Rd .

The decor is nice and the layout is good. And that is where the compliments end. I was hoping a new start for the chef would help. After eating here, I am just under the impression John Hennessy can't cook. Probably why his other endeavors have failed. We decided to get an array of appetizers. The calamari was really greasy and had no flavor. We got the chicken strips, which were rubberized planks. There is a thing called brining to make them juicy, give it a try guys. The cheese curds were OK, but they looked they were purchased from a vendor. I came, I saw, I left bloated and disappointed.

Venue is noisy...to be expected for pub style. Service was attentive, but needed some follow up from us to get order completed. The food...not so great. Have been there twice. Grilled sandwiches and flatbread are not cooked to crispness. Thin crust pizza was burnt. Hope the food preparation improves.

I really wanted to like this place as the decor and atmosphere seemed great. I have no complaints about the food itself, everything was great. We ordered the cheese curds for appetizer and they were good, I got pizza and it was delicious, my sister ordered mini burgers and said they were great. The service however was terrible. Our waitress hardly came to our table and the worst part was she walked past our table SEVERAL times without stopping. She gave us "a few minutes" to look over the menu and came back to the table after about 20. My sister ordered a beer when we ordered food and that arrived about 15 minutes later from someone else. Our waters were empty for at least 15 minutes before they were filled and the food took far too long. Finally when our food arrived and another server brought it, he tried to place the pizza tray on the wire stand and managed to drop it so my pizza started sliding off the tray. I grabbed it to stop it and he apologized but didn't help me or offer anything else. Not sure I'd want to come back after the service we had.

It's a nice addition to Huntley, happy to try it out. Our server started out good then he just disappeared after getting our meals. No drink refills, we had to flag down for our check and then still seemed bothered he had to stop! The food portions are big! homemade chips are good, kids pizza was a hit, husband had the stuffed chicken and my mom and I had the roasted turkey open face sandwich. I know it was busy but when everyone around you is getting checked on but we kept getting skipped, it puts a damper on the meal.

I would love to give Pub 47 Grill the 5 stars because their food and service is excellent and for that they are deserving. My husband and I have been here 3 times and have always enjoyed the food and service. The only problem is the noise level, it is deafening and you cannot carry on a conversation with the person across the table from you or the wait staff. This makes me sad because the food is so good, but unless I hear that they have done something to help with the sound in there I don't think I will be going back. Please, get someone in there that can do something to make the place a bit quieter, just so you don't have to scream to carry on a conversation, as everyone was doing on a very busy Sunday evening, because I really appreciate the excellent food and outstanding service.

The decor is much improved from the last business. Friendly and prompt service were consistent over three visits. The appetizer menu is great and the burgers are huge.

Our second visit in a month. First visit it was not the best. It was super busy so we gave it the benefit of the doubt. Went back tonight, Sat at the bar. Only 7 people at the bar when we arrived. Ordered a few cocktails and appetizers. Not once did the bartender ask if we needed a refill. We had to flag her down each time. We saw the manager talking to the hostess. Two girls sitting by the front door for about 30 mins with no one coming in at that time while we could not get service. We asked for a menu to take food home and 20 mins later we finally said we had to go with no order. Oh well. We were not able to order food this time but previously it was mediocre at best.

Let's start on a positive. If you like alcohol and atmosphere and want to catch a game on a TV outside your house this is s place for you. If you are going for food I suggest you go somewhere else. Now before I start on the food keep in mind I walked in to order take out. I have yet to dine in so for me to comment how positive the beer and atmosphere is throws caution flags right? Be prepared to wait and hour for your food to arrive if you walk in to place an order. I have heard the same for dine in. My order? I ordered 6 mild wings, 12 spicy wings, an order of Szechwan beef lettuce wraps, chicken tenders and a southwest chicken wrap. It took an hour. I live 1 mile from the restaurant. The food was cold. I asked how many tenders in an order I was told six! I got three! I got 4 fried jalepenos with it and maybe an extra small portion of fries, the six wings came hot when I ordered them mild, the 12 spicy wings came mild when ordered spicy, the wrap fell apart as soon as it was picked up and the Szechwan lettuce wraps was beef and dressings laying on top of a bed of lettuce. Nothing that you could make a wrap out of and all of the food was cold. It tasted bland as well. If you are going for drinks have at it. If your going for food stop somewhere else first and finish off there for drinks. Horrible experience. My other experience was ordering one pizza to go. I sat and waited at the bar for 40 minutes. The pizza actually wasn't bad so at least they have that going for them.

The staff is very nice. The atmosphere is nice. They put a lot of money in the decor and it works. This is our second visit. I love the "O sweet ginger" drink. Very tasty. The food is hit or miss. The chicken roulade was very bland and it was confusing because the ingredients sounded great. We weren't thrilled with the lettuce wraps and the assistant manager came by and asked us how everything was tasting and I was honest with him. The flavor was good but it was too disorganized and the meat was fatty. He was very receptive to our comments and suggestions. The beef skewer appetizer was excellent. I'm sorry I can't remember the name but it has the mashed potato glob in the middle. That is more like a meal. We will keep trying to find some good items because we want to have nice places to eat in our little town of Huntley.

I fell at this restaurant several weeks ago after receiving only a portion of my meal, I was charged for the complete meal even though I was taken away by ambulance no restaurant employee or owner has contacted me to resolve the situation, those I was with will never go back, and some groups have already canceled reservations after hearing this...bad call Pub 47!

Had an opportunity to check this new restaurant out with family. Have to say that they did a great job at the remodel. Very warm and modern. Bar looks great lot's of room. I started with the baked onion soup which was pretty good but I would say over-priced at $6.50. A few of us ordered their panin's, but what we got was far from a panini. I would say they lightly toasted some sourdough bread and placed the contents in. Would have to recommend they purchase a real panini maker and change the bread. Otherwise the were just basic sandwiches. Would not re-order. Their fries are very good. A few others had their Italian Sausage and pepper sandwiches-Small portion and both sandwiches had no peppers. Their slider burgers are good and would go back for those. Dont bother asking for a trio to try their Chicken, Burger and Pulled Pork sliders-the waitress said the chef will not allow customers to mix and match. Really? They are all the same price, so not too sure what is going on with that decision. It's a great way to try all three. Everyone was friendly, the Manager was very professional and very much working the room. However, I think he has his work cut out for him with the kitchen. I suggest they check their orders before taking them out because not any of us rcvd everything we ordered. A few rcvd chips not fries. Fries not chips and salad dressings were wrong. All in all, I would go back to try their other items.

Short story: We ended up going to McDonalds afterward. Long story: We ordered cheese curds appetizer, the fish sandwich for me, and the pizza flat-bread for my wife. Appetizer came out quick and was really good. After that, we waited an hour and a half for our food. We watched two tables come in, sit down, order, and get their entrees before us. We weren't quiet about it either. We asked our waitress for an update every ten minutes to check on our food. She kept apologizing and saying "It's coming up. It's coming up." Finally, after an hour and a half we demanded our check. She went back and brought out our food out instantly. We started to eat and as you can probably guess, it was cold. Our guess is it was sitting there the whole time. We complained and they took the plates away and came back and said, "the plates are really hot, don't touch them." They had just thrown the entire plate with food in the oven for a minute and then brought it back to us. The pizza was now both soggy and hot, instead of just soggy. The waitress said she'd take off one of them. I asked for both. The chef and owner came over and apologized (which was nice) and said they'd take care of it. The waitress returned with the check, with 1 entree removed. We left hungry, with all the food sitting on the table.

Apparently they don't want any take away business as they had me on hold for several minutes and not even muted, I could hear all the noise in the background. Plenty of other places to go to. Not the best way to begin your business. May I add that the man that answered the phone also should not have? Not very professional.

Had chef johns wild berry salad. It was one of the best salads I've had in a long time. Lettuce was crisp, fruit was plump and juicy. High quality ingredients. Looking forward to trying more from the menu in the future.

We just finished our second meal at Pub 47 Grill in Huntley. Very satisfied and glad they chose to open in our hometown. We've tried the reuben and pulled pork sandwiches previously and they were very good. Tonight, mothers day, we tried pulled pork sliders and the ribeye steak. The food has been to our liking each time although the steak did not need sauted onions and rosemary as a seasoning. All of the above came with choices of potato and the steak also came with soup or salad (which I had) and warm bread with a honey walnut flavored butter. Our server Christen was competent, knowledgeable and very pleasant. The bussers and food runners also help the wait staff. I've heard some negative comments from neighbors about the noise level. This is a pub....with many large screen tv's broadcasting sporting events which are not quiet. It also has a large bar area for people to socialize and gather. Also not a quiet event. Sorry to say that at least today, on mothers day, it had a noise level which lots of kids can generate. Our previous visit was not noisy, especially given the type of social establishment this is. If you want a nice softly lit handholding experience, don't go to a sports bar with mostly $8.00 food options. Our choice for very reasonable food, prepared well and served efficiently in a friendly atmosphere would be Pub 47 Grill in Huntley.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed for my first time ordering from here. I ordered a cheeseburger with Swiss cheese, pickles and onions, and a child's portion of macaroni and cheese for take out. When I got home I had a cheeseburger with American cheese, onions, and a pickle spear in the box, and a small order of pasta w red sauce. I called to let them know of the mistakes and in their defense they did ask if I wanted to come back in to make it right, I told them no as I had just got home and didn't feel like venturing out again. They did not however ask if I wanted some type of refund or credit to possibly use the next time I would come in. ALL of the food was very bland and tasteless, the pasta with red sauce I took 2 bites of and threw away, so not only was it wrong it was just not good at all. The burger tasted like they threw some meat on the grill and did nothing to it, no spices, no salt or pepper, no taste what so ever, I did not finish that either. I've seen some poor reports on here as far as takeout orders but that shouldn't be an issue as takeout or dining in the food should taste the same, and if what I had tonight is indicative of what the food is like I'm not sure right now if I will go back to give it another try or not. I really hope that the owners and or the people responsible take the time to read the reviews of their establishment, and take them seriously as there are not a ton of food options in the immediate area and they have a chance to distinguish themselves from all the other options. It's a nice place inside, and I hope they can get it together.
