I love places like this. Really makes me feel like I am in somebody's own suburb with a restaurant by the side of a busy highway. But this is more than that. Tons of good vibes here. I ate like a king here for around $23.00 which includes a tip. OK? Service was very friendly, I would def return if I am this way again. One thing I did find odd however, they wrap pieces of bread individually for the bread basket, I have never seen this practice and it seems wasteful. But I am rounding up for how clean the bathrooms are. When you are a traveling sales person, these places make you feel really nice. Thank you Triangle Family Restaurant, One more odd thing, they have this method of tipping where you have to actually tell the guy at the counter what the tip is you want to leave, so that is kind of strange, but liberating, if you are a big tipper like me and often eat solo.

Good traditional family restaurant. Usually go on Sunday's and get the cream of chicken and rice soup, very good! I definitely recommend the ranch (I'm a ranch snob)

Stopped by today for breakfast for two. Got seated right away, even though the parking lot looked packed. Waitress was very good through the whole meal: attentive and helpful. We were amazed at how fast our orders came out from the kitchen, much faster than usual in a diner like this. Both meals (sausage, eggs, hash browns; omelette and fruit) were fine. Though the hash browns could be a little crisper. Overall, a good place to eat breakfast, we would eat breakfast there again.

The owner/host went to a new low today. My wife and I went there and parked. Besides it being the coldest day of the year and the parking lot empty that guy proceeded to walk out to yell at us that we parked wrong. You would think we robbed him or did something very bad to him the way he went off on us. I was completely taken back by his actions. My wife and I left and went somewhere else. Nobody deserves to be spoken too like that let alone good customers. He speaks like that too his staff and thinks he can speak like that to others . We will never go there again.

Let me begin by saying that, on our recent visit here, we had none of the "customer service" issues others have reported. The service was prompt, courteous, and well in-line with what we've had in other diners. Anyone can have a bad day (or several), but that wasn't our experience. That said, our dinner was mostly fine - not terrific but not bad. The portions varied from just right for one sandwich and some popcorn shrimp to massive: three huge chicken tenders in the kids' meal (more than my huge 11-year-old could finish), and a full "buffalo" chicken breast on a 10-inch French roll. That last one was the only genuine disappointment. The meat was dried out and very chewy, which, when coupled with the toasted roll, made for a lot of work. On the plus side, the "buffalo" sauce was good - spicy but not killer, which was good, considering how long it took to chew.

Wow...service. There's a point that it really doesn't matter what the food tastes like! We dealt with the owner too! The food just looked gross, when we tried to return it the owner said "that's all you ever do is return food". This guy was just plain mean.

Good place for breakfast or lunch. Wide variety on the menu. Good soups. Friendly servers. Easy for a quick meal. Busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings, can be a wait at that time.

This restaurant has been around forever! Since I have lived in IL in 2001, this restaurant has been here. The Triangle is great for friends and family to meet up on a Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast, brunch or lunch! The service is great, everyone is joyful and friendly and the food is pretty good. Last time I came here, I got chocolate chip pancakes because, well, it's chocolate! And, they were great. Everything tasted tremendous and couldn't ask for a better dining experience. I recommend the pancakes! I didn't give them 5 stars from one reason, decor. The decor is out of date and it feels like I am back in the mid to late 90's again. Maybe a few upgrades to your inside decor would be great because it could use a bit of a touch up. It kind of scares customers away when they see an older looking restaurant but there is no reason to fear! Everything is just as great as it should be. I highly recommend this restaurant not only because its close and convenient but it's family friendly, great for kids, service is excellent, the prices are beatable but not bad and the food is fresh and taste-bud sizzling (if that makes sense, that is..).

Not happy with the service. Asked to have eggs cooked two different ways ( one over and one poached) and they wouldn't do it even if we wanted to pay more. absolutely ridiculous. Argued with waitress and manager over this. Terrible customer relations and will never go back. Never have had the owners wife of a family restaurant argue with me over something so simple. Food was mediocre at best and typical of this type of establishment. So many family restaurants to choose from you would think they would appreciate their customers more.

Thereal deal greasy spoon restaurant, with the term not describing how really great it is, when ever in the chain of lakes area we are there with Sue and Curt

My family and I come here every now and again for breakfast. This is your standard diner with almost anything you want on the menu. My kids usually get the sliver dollar pancakes which are very good. I usually get an omelette or eggs and bacon. The hash browns are average (I bet frozen out of a bag) but are ok if you order them well done or crispy. The service is good. They always go the extra mile for the kids. We did go one time for dinner, but will not try that again.

My significant other and I frequent this diner since it's a half block from our office. I have really enjoyed a couple of things off the menu here: the biscuits & gravy breakfast skillet and the chicken kabob. Above average service.

I've driven by here countless times and finally decided to stop in for dinner. It's your typical family restaurant with foods like french dip sandwiches, hot turkey, spaghetti, etc... I had the Roast Pork dinner that came with green beans and mashed potatoes with a light brown gravy over the meat and potatoes. The pork tasted like turkey, nothing special and sliced thinner than I expect a pork tenderloin to be sliced. The scoop of mashed potatoes was small but tasted fine. I didn't touch the green beans and would have asked to not receive them if I knew they were going to be served (no mention of them on the menu!). The gravy was too light for pork as well and tasted more like what I would have expected on a hot turkey sandwich. The dining room was nice and spacious with very comfortable seats. There was also a TV with a college football game on which was nice. The waitress was working solo at the time I stopped in and completely ignored me once my food was brought out, same thing with the busboy who stood around doing nothing. I sat for a good 10 minutes with an empty water glass and napkin sitting on my plate before I finally had to tell the waitress to come over. Probably the 3rd worst service I have ever received in my entire life. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and will stop by again in the future to try their biscuits and gravy for breakfast, but as far as dinner is concerned i'm going to stick with Mrs. V's up the street.

I live in the area and have seen this place so many times but never stopped in to eat but figured I see cars here alot so what the heck, lets give it a try for dinner. Big mistake. The food and service were sub par. I live in Grayslake and like to support local business but this is one place I will not be going back to.

Triangle is my favorite place to eat in Grayslake. It is a traditional, non-nonsense Greek diner that I am always happy to visit because I've always had an enjoyable meal regardless of if I'm ordering breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

So no one has written a review about Triangle yet... Come to Triangle on the weekends at breakfast and its always packed. They definitely have great breakfast food. They have good homemade soups as well and just about everything else you could ever want. I usually only make it here for the breakfast and I am always satisfied!

Great Soup - Great Breakfast - Great Dinner. The French Toast is delicious. They have amazing wraps. Your coffee cup is never empty. They have 2 TVs that always have a game on too.
