I grew up coming here with family when I was young. I have many memories of watching Le Mans, NASCAR, F1, you name it here. Never been much for other sports, so I don't really pay attention to those. I work in Libertyville along 45 and live in Lindenhurst, so this is on my way to and from work.. I make a point to stop in at least once a week and it's definitely one of my favorite "local joints" to stop in at for food. Still tastes the same as it did when I was younger , and it's still owned by the same guy (Tony) The bar and dining areas are always clean and the servers and bartenders always know how to take care of a customer, even picky ones like myself. I guess it's been in business for 25 years, I'm 26.. do the math. If it can stay in business, they're doing something right. You owe it to yourself to stop in. There's always some stuff going on and it's one of those warm, welcoming types of places. Don't really get that or good local service anymore. Love it.

This isn't a new review but an update. The owner reached out to me to reconcile my visit. I've not been back but in fairness I think it's necessary to note that the establishment did respond quickly.

Great little dive . Always order takeout since bars aren't my seen. The burgers are really good and the chicken tenders were nice and crispy . Will I order again absolutely !

Kinda looks like a dive bar but offers over 70 beers. Staff is friendly and food has been good. Great place to stop after a round of golf right across the street. I'd say give it a try.

Great Spot! Food is great, excellent beer selection, friendly staff and service. The owner (Tony) is usually around and is always hospitable. They have a creative menu for a sportsbar and just about everything I've tried there, I've loved. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!

Stop by for dinner. Seen pizza on the menu Ask the waitress hows the pizza, she didn't know only her 2nd day on the job. So I ordered a sausage pizza. Well I guess Bake's is not know for its pizza. Was not good, was not cook long enough and the sausage tasted like Jimmy Deans. BUT the fries are good for an order for $3.99. Pitches of Miller Lite were $11. Pretty high prices for that area.

Love coming here! Small and quiet fun bar! Food is always good. The waitress and owner are so nice. The owner is always around coming to tables asking how the food is. Great place to come sit at the bar and play the video slots. Never out of control which I like! Come here it's fun and worth it! Been coming here since I was a child.

Had dinner here on Friday night, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This place is a hole in the wall which is right up my alley. After walking in I reflexively ducked fearful I might hit my head on something (it isn't that cramped, I am just tall). I sat in the bar area. The bar was packed but the tables were pretty open. Our waitress took our drink orders, and I knew immediately that we would get along great. She was fun and gave my buddies a hard time. She was pretty knowledgable about the beers we asked about which is impressive because they have a huge bottle list. For dinner I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and side salad. The buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent. My buddy had a patty melt which I tried and it was amazing. I wanted to order one after finishing my chicken sandwich but I settled on another beer instead. Overall this place is a great hole in the wall bar that you can grab a decent bite to eat.

Great good, huge menu. Service has been outstanding every time. Great bar to watch sports. Blue collar dive bar but over 70 beers and good sized tv's. I will be back again and again. Try it, you won't be sorry

Great daily specials. Casual atmosphere with plenty of TV's with sports games. The food is good and the menu has a lot of variety. Good service anytime we've been here and always enjoyed the food.

For the past 15 plus years, I've stopped by Bake's for lunch, dinner and a beer (with groups of 2-15). The owner, Tony, has ALWAYS been VERY welcoming and made me feel like a friend! Over the years, he has grown his menu and not just by adding fried "bar food" as many sports bars do. He truly has some great and unique menu items that all taste awesome! Don't let the fact that this is a "sports" bar fool you either. His beer list is huge too!! There have been other sport bars and restaurants that have opened in the area over the past 15-years and some as recent as 2-years ago. Although the new ones aren't chains, many times they make you feel like you are just another dinner check to them. Not at Bake's. As recent as this week, we went to one of the other establishments in the area to try and coordinate a surprise birthday party for a local firefighter. The other restaurant wanted nothing to do with us and said if they had room "maybe" there would be space for the 20 guests we were having. A "maybe" wasn't going to work for the party, so I quickly called Tony @ Bake's and without asking any questions he said whatever you need we will make sure we take care of you and everyone attending! That's the kind of quality customer service you get at Bake's! To Tony you aren't just another dinner bill; you are welcomed as a friend when he opens his doors for you! In addition to the food Tony is VERY giving in the community! He is extremely supportive of local charity events donating gift certificates, prizes etc to help raise money for cancer and other important causes! One time we had too much meat for a charity raffle we were sponsoring and Tony allowed us to use his freezers so it didn't spoil. I will never forget that! As a businessman, he knows the value of giving back to the community which is so great! Bake's is an easy place to drive by and miss, but once you find it you won't forget where it is located and how great the food and friendly service truly is!

Wait staff was friendly and food was pretty good. They have semi-private rooms for meetings too. Our group had a whole pizza pie left, yet, the waitstaff couldn't be bothered to ask us if we wanted to continue working on it, and just threw out the whole thing! Biggest peeve of mine. Otherwise, I'd rate them higher were it not for this incident.

The owner of this bar is a damn pervert!!!! The kitchen is nasty dirty! The waitress slow as molasses! I would prefer to cannibalism that eating at this dump!

This place is my staple for watching a blackhawks game. A little intimidating (dive bar look) from the outside but cozy on the inside. Its geared as a sports bar, they have a HUGE beer selection which gets mixed up every so often - have found new gems but also old favorites missing. Food menu is pretty amazing for a place like this - lots of specials every day. Have only had pizza and think its best thing on the menu. Chips and salsa are ok. My son has reuben often, and have stolen a bit from him on occasion. Tables are packed with signs for drinks and food, takes about 5min to clear a space for your actual meal and drink. Service for me has always been good. Good neighborhood bar to hang out.

This place is great. It looks like such a dive but when you go inside it has great character and really nice people. The food is good and always have good food specials.

The casual atmosphere and good food makes it a great place to go for lunch or dinner, or a game day special. There is always a great choice of foods from the regular menu to the daily specials (which include homemade soup or salad). Their seafood is amazing with some of my husband's favorites being the Rhode Island mussels (an appetizer that is big enough for a meal), fried calamari and the smelts (a Friday/Saturday special during the season). The 10 oz Angus burger is fantastic - always fresh and cooked perfectly. Also, great gyros, stuffed peppers, lamb shanks and chimichangas. Our grandkids also enjoy the food and atmosphere with TVs at the table as well as the large screen for games. It's a wonderful place for everyone and the service is always great!

This is a good local dive. It feels comfortable and has surprisingly good sized menu with nice variety. They have daily specials on food and drinks. I had grilled teriyaki salmon and grilled vegetables and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We definitely enjoyed our dinner here. We will be going back, I recommend checking it out if you like local dives with good food.

Bake's is a great roadhouse-style sports bar/restaurant in Lake County. The best things about it are its beer selection, its very low prices, and the crazy variety of menu items. The food is excellent, especially for the cost. The clientelle are social. There's a lot of variety by age, ranging from older regulars, young people hanging out at the bar to watch the game, to families taking the kids out after their soccer practice. Don't be surprised to see some local busines leaders or politicians stop in.

Such an unassuming but very neat place. The only way I found out about it was through my fellow yelpers (thanks guys and gals). Glad I stopped. Excellent food and service was very prompt and friendly.

Bake's is a sports bar with a big menu and massive drink list - so massive that they elect to take up 1/3 of your table with stands advertising all of their different drink offerings. If you're looking for a wide range of drink opportunities and decent food then this is a fine place to go. I went to Bake's as part of a foursome and had the seafood pasta. The salad was good with surprisingly green romaine but the entree had problems: two of my mussels were served closed and therefore inedible, while some of my other mussels and calamari were overcooked. The pasta was a perfect al dente, however. After also sampling my friend's entrees I deduced that Bake's best items are their more traditional fare: burgers and sandwiches. The patty melt and club sandwich on the table were of far better quality than my seafood pasta and the Caribbean pork chop that we also ordered. Bake's has a pretty sizable menu and a list of "specials" that is just as long, but when going here understand you're at a sports bar and as a result sports bar food is probably the best bet. Stick with their more traditional items and you should have an enjoyable meal.

Was seeing a show at the nearby College and stumbled upon this little gem. This place is great for all ages. Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and great decor. T.V. viewable from wherever you sit, video games and music also available. Easy to read menu with a variety of choices. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite or great drink with great service to along with it.

Nice sports bar place in beautiful downtown Wildwood. Lots of different beers. All that I've ordered there has been very good and well prepared. Friendly people waiting tables and behind the bar. Nicer inside environment since the smoking ban went into effect. IMO.

I love Bakes. The decor is nothing to write home about. Couple of flat screens around the dining room and small TVs mounted in each booth. Tons of beer choices and always a special menu on the weekend. Always a specialty burger, i.e Sonoma Burger with roasted red pepper, homemade soups and desserts. I've never had a bad meal here and the prices are more than fair. Service is fast and friendly. We go here at least twice a month.

This is one of our favorite local hangouts. The staff and customers are all very friendly, the food is excellent (not typical bar food), and they have a good beer selection. We particularly like the seafood and salads. Lots of TVs and free wi-fi also make it a great alternative to the library to work on projects or schoolwork. There is also a large room away from the bar where the kids' sports teams frequently hang out.

I like Bake's. And, I normally do not dig the sports bar scene. Having been raising in a blue collar, hard working family, I have to say Bake's is the sort of place my Dad might have taken us all for dinner after working all week on a Friday night. There's a bar, but it is separated from the restaurant. The food is consistently good. The burgers, beef sandwiches, pizza and fries are all above average and plentiful. There's an extensive beer selection as well. The wait staff is genuinely friendly and people remember your name. I like Bake's.

Only reason why I'm giving them one star is cuz I have to. We went here for something different but I ordered the Cajun papaya wrap which sounded good and unique. Got it and had no papaya and no seasoning on chic. Told the waitress and she apologized. When it came back it clearly looked like all they did was add papaya and the chic was the same and then told her I didnt want it anymore. My friend ordered the spinach ravioli which was overcooked and had no flavor. So we got both off our check and got the bill and was charged for the house salads that came with our meal. This whole time a manager never came to talk to us until I asked when he came over i told him I was a bartender and know the business and told him this isn't right and then he preceded to tell me he owns multiple businesses and this is how he does business. I paid 7.50 for two house salads and left hungry. This is not how u run a business he made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about and was rude DO NOT go here seafood is always frozen and overcooked that is why their specials are so cheap. I talked with someone who used to work there and told me that and I like to support small businesses but this is not one of them. Do not eat here!! The seafood is always overcooked an specials are only "special" because they prolly have been sitting in the freezer for a year. I hear he buys frozen food about to go bad at a good price that's why his "specials" are so cheap. There are so many better places then this with better people who own and operate their restaurants. STAY AWAY!!!

Very nice beer selection. Unexpectedly good mussels! Decent burgers. The mussels really came as a surprise in what looks like a typical sports bar.

My favorite local bar. My favorite BAR period. Delicious pizza, wings, and everything! I am loving the daily specials, plus their buffalo chicken salad cannot be beat! TONS of drink choices and the staff is always very friendly. Don't let the outside fool you, this place is a gem when it comes to good food and good service! I love Bake's!

They have a great selection of beers to choose from, not just the average stuff you find at every bar! The food is also very good, reasonably priced, and you get lots of it! Highly recommend bringing a group of friends for an evening out here! Service is great too!

I came here to meet up with co-workers for lunch after golfing across the street at Brea Loch. Food is good, for a sports bar they have a weird variety. In addition to the burgers, cheese fries, chili, and nacho's, they'll throw in Mongolian beef stir fry and tempura vegetables and have a good beer selection. The price is right and you can keep up with many games at one time as you are surrounded by televisions. Kitchen is open til midnight.

Back again! Brought another friend. We went the soups as a starter, traditional mussels and calamari. Added the grilled portobello mushrooms filed with cheese and tomatoes. Yum!! It's only one big mushroom, but it was enough to satisfy all of us. We also had dessert. I had the peach pie and Ice cream. Holy cow was that delicious. They had the brownies with ice cream. Warm an gooey!! Our waitress was fantastic. Funny, friendly and she kind of looked like Julia Stiles! On my way out I ordered my boyfriend a Cubano Pork Roast Loin sandwich. He said it was really good. Next time I think I will have to get a real meal! I just love the appetizers so much. Haha.

Been here a few times now after the suggestion of a friend... and I love it! I've had a few of their dishes but my favorite is their lemon chicken soup and southern style tilapia with assorted potatoes. Delicious!!! And you couldn't find a nicer owner/manager in Tony! Genuinely great guy! I usually stop here after a long days work and my trip is always right on time! Other good options are the meatloaf sandwich and their martinis. My top choice is the prickly pear.

This place looks like a textbook dive. When you go in it is the typical local bar with a dining room sidecar. The food here is great, the people are very warm and friendly. They have specials menus, I would highly recommend the Bambino. I have a new must stop for lunch on the north side of my territory.
