the food here is horrible. the General Tso's chicken was listed as sautéed in the menu but came deep fried. the chicken was barely edible- tasted like it had been cooked in old frying oil them sat around for a few days. so much fried and so little chicken. smothered in a gloopy sweet sauce. listed in the hot and spicy section of the menu but was neither. my son's tofu soup was flavorless. as if they dropped in cubes of tofu moments before serving it so the tofu has no taste. never again.

I used to eat at Young's all the time around 8 years ago and loved it. I moved out of the area but moved back recently and was excited to eat there again! I picked up the food and was greeted by an empty front desk. I rang the bell and a rude lady came out, then brought out my food. I asked for an extra won ton sauce and she said that they usually charge for it. The food was very bland and basic. The Mongolian beef quality was very poor, and it was a little gummy. The rest of the food also lacked any real flavor. I was very surprised to see how the quality of everything had gone downhill there. I won't go there ever again.

I've been here many times only because 2 people in a group of people I go to lunch with every Tues. likes it. Most of the food is just generic American Chinese food. The service is terrible. I don't know if we have ever been there when they have gotten our order 100% correct.

Very high quality food and very good customer service. There is a very cute old lady that works there.

Used to go to Youngs all the time in the 70's - it was great / always crowded. Made the mistake of going there recently. We were the only people in the place, so they just turned the lights on above our table. Although truthfully, I'm not sure I want to see the inside with adequate light; to use an old expression, the place is "long in the tooth". Probably hasn't been remodeled since I was last there in the 70's. Carpet is disgusting / fitthy. Luckily, I didn't get a glimpse into the kitchen. Oh yeah...the food - C-

Friendly but slow service. Food is better than Panda express, but could be better. Inexpensive. Decor is interesting, but carpet and furniture is old. I doubt that they will ever read this review.

I always get a great dinner here with my family. However what took off my last star was TOO MANY ONIONS~~~~~~~ The mangolian beef is my alltime fave dish here. I would highly reccomend here. If you like onions. Choose Shechwan Bejjing or something. Other than that, this place is great!

Two words: Old School. It wouldn't be a B. Family Gathering if my hubby's parents and aunt (average age: 80) did not order carry-out from Young's. And every time, hubby and I sort of roll our eyes and sigh. This is a place with old-style cantonese dishes like Hong Sue Chicken and Egg Foo Young. Everything is kind of heavy and greasy and the only sort of palatable dish is Mongolian Beef, which has a nice little kick to it. Since we never eat in there, I can't speak to the decor and service. There are a lot of really good Chinese restaurants on the north shore and this, alas, is not one of them. But it makes the old folks happy.

We are new to this area and were looking for Chinese take-out the other night and our favorite place was closed early. We decided to give this place a try. BAD IDEA. This was literally the most disgusting Chinese food I have ever eaten. It lacked flavor and just felt gross in the mouth. Being a food lover, I don't recall ever feeling repulsed at spending time and money on food but I am still bothered at the waste of money! yuck!

This place is a health inspector's nightmare. The filthiest restaurant I've ever been in, hands down. Gordon Ramsay would go apeshit in this place. The tables were sticky and smelled sour... then I saw this older lady walking around wiping all the tables with a rag that I wouldn't wash my car with. Even the menus smelled. The salt and pepper shakers were stuck to the table and the pepper wouldn't even pour out of them. The hot mustard was so old it was crystallized in the bottom of the grimy, greasy squeeze bottle. The decor is atrocious, exactly like it was in the 70's and the furniture & carpet are beat to hell. Their service was ridiculously slow even though there were only 4 tables of people there... all older Caucasian people. (red flag when there are no people of that ethnicity in an ethnic restaurant!) We were brought the wrong entree and had to send it back and wait forever for everything even though the place was empty. The food was about as average as you can get. It wasn't horrible but it certainly wasn't delicious either. But for the cost you'd think you would get alot more for your money. In a nutshell, the place was filthy, had terrible service, and overpriced sub par food. Gross. I wanted to spray myself with Lysol when we left. I was shocked I didn't see any critters!

Ordered carry out for lunch the other day. The prices are super reasonable but the customer service wasn't great. There was literally no one there when I pulled up (not a single car in the lot, didn't see anyone inside...always a bad sign during lunch time) and I had to ring the bell and wait for 5 minutes for someone to come to the front to ring me up. The whole place looked super grimy. I would never dine in and I don't think I'll even order from there again. Food quality/taste was not great, either.

From the authentic food to the old world decor this my favorite Chinese restaurant on the north shore. I love their egg rolls and their chow tay is phenomenal!

Quick and consistent. Chinese comfort food at a good price for the area.

Food is not that good at all. Disappointing. We ordered from here since my mom lives down the block. Wish we had checked the reviews sooner. I don't think I would recommend this place unless you will eat just about anything. Tasteless food and the fried appetizers were awful. The crab Rangoon was gummy and hard to even bite off. The shrimp had an odd watery taste from the cooking oil. The fried rice was totally bland. $27 well wasted.

Delicious lunch specials that come with soup enjoy some egg foo young fried rice or plain rice or egg roll! My mother and I stuffed ourselves for less than $14! Very reasonable and the staff is very friendly they've been there for over 55 years! That should speak for itself.

Super old school, family run restaurant, food is way above average, sometimes mama cooks the dishes. Fried rice is good, not expensive, well worth trying.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
