I brought my parents here after dinner. My mom hates eating too many sweets but I got her the brownie sundae and she loved it. She tasted so fresh and natural. Oberweiss has the best ice cream. It's so rich and decadent but without being too overpowering. They have other things like farm produce, such as milk and eggs. It is such a family outing experience that you should bing everybody.

The ice cream was nasty. It tasted as tho I was sucking milk from a cow with a straw in the milk bucket with no favor and I had the birthday cake flavor. I was really disappointed being that I LOVE ICE CREAM!!

The sweet aroma here brings childhood memories back! Awesome dairy goodness. the service was spectacular - the counter server brought us our orders (generous portions here!) It's a pretty larger ice cream parlour, and very clean. I even appreciated the kiddie stickers and crayons to entertain the little ones. The ice cream was decadent. Creamy and sweet, and sooo good. The surprise hit: The Chocolate Caramel Crunch ice cream. The kids kept stealing my icecream! It was THAT good.

I stopped here today for an evening snack because I was craving sometime sweet. There is an entrance to the parking directly beside the shop, which made things convenient. Upon entering, I immediately smelled the delicious waft of sweetness. The shop is bright and clean and the girl who took my order was friendly and let me try the birthday cake ice cream before deciding on that. It ended up being like $3.80 for one scoop in a cup, which I found reasonable. The ice cream was creamy and sweet, just how I like it. Now comparatively speaking, I have had better, but I left satisfied and with my sweet tooth craving fulfilled!

Ice cream pies. Yum. Rich chocolate milk. I like that they still use glass bottles.

Amazing ice cream for a low cost. They ice cream is so soft and rich in flavor that you will want more and more. There usually is a long line here but the service is fast dso there isn't much of a wait.

Whenever I think Oberweis, I think very strongly dairyman Mr. Oberweis stick to dairy and wander not into other venues. Stopped in for a 'classic' chocolate milkshake. It was great with rich whip cream (no cookie--those not so good in my opinion based upon past experience). The price to taste ratio brings a yelp rating down, but if you want quality and choose to ignore the cost, this is a good ice cream spot.

I have been coming to this oberweis for years despite the fact that it is over priced (a pun for all of you). On a serious note, today I went in with my sisters to order some ice cream on a hot day. My younger sister ordered a hot fudge sundae and asked for her receipt because it was over a dollar more expensive than it said on the menu. When I asked the cashier about this he simply said " you asked for chopped nuts". When I asked if chopped nuts were $1.30 extra as that was the price difference on the receipt he walked away with no answer. Later he put my older sisters ice cream down without a word signaling her it was ready and then walked away. The ice cream is great, don't get me wrong, but not worth the prices and bad customer service. If you really want some good GLenview ice cream, hit up the dairy bar

I have been here twice and had an excellent experience both times. The ice cream is all excellent and the service is good. Order at the counter and they bring it to the table for you. The waffle cones are awesome and even have choices like chocolate dipped and chocolate dipped with sprinkles. It is easy to find a space in the parking lot behind the restaurant and you can go right in thru the back door. They also sell a bunch of stuff in the wall of refrigerator cases....milk, lemonade, yogurt, butter, bacon, cinnamon rolls, pies, and of course ice cream are just some of the items they have.

Their ice cream may have the best overall flavor of any ice cream I've tried. It may also be the purest. But the prices are definitely the most you'll pay. It's good to go here on occasion, but there are plenty other local ice cream/yogurt shops that I'd prefer to give my money to. Non-chain ones mostly.

Feel like eating the most delicious ice cream ever? Or, how bout raising the gluttony up a notch and ordering the best ice cream, in a brownie hot-fudge sundae? I may or may not have had just a few of these.... maybe.... but IF I did, I would have definitely split it with someone.... well sometimes at least... Their ice cream is delicious, and while it is NOT fat free, you can be sure that you aren't getting any rBGH! The non use of rBGH is pretty important to me, so I get my milk from them as well. The only problem is the glass bottles are poorly designed... but I can deal with that considering the milk is healthy!

Nice spot in downtown Glenview for a dessert or whatever. The soft serves are also good and reasonably priced. I learned that they, and the adjoining storefronts on busy Waukegan Ave, have a covered parking area right behind the stores, and with a rear store entry. The entrance is just south of the storefront, and it's easy not to notice. Nice and convenient!

Yummy hit the spot as had skipped dinner. Had coke float after so many years. Have been visiting this location for years and it's always clean and well maintained.

Limited in their flavors but spot on with the ones they have. Pricey for the size of the scoop you get. High schoolers working the counters...kinda like Best Buy!

Unfortunately I am unable to have dairy, but my husband can! He loves their smooth rich ice cream, and I have to admit that I took a tiny sip of their eggnog at Easter, and it was to die for! They also offer smoothies. Their only downside is their parking garage, which is very difficult to manage, with many blind spots. Keep up the awesome work guys! =)

Oberweis is a solid three star ice cream place. I've been going to their various locations for most of my life and will definitely continue to go here into the future. The quality is consistent across the board and this location is no exception. The décor is a little tacky as it goes for a classic ice cream parlor look but it's clean. The ice cream is delicious but definitely on the heavier side so come with a big appetite. It's also a bit pricey though you're paying for the quality of the ice cream. Their chocolate milk is also tremendous and I would recommend it to all. One complaint; it consistently seems to be understaffed and the workers a little overwhelmed.

Back when I lived in the dorms and ate in dining halls all the time, one of the highlights was the milk "fountain". Back when Cereality was open, they had milk fountains too. How fun! So when I get hit with this craving for chocolate milk and come to Oberweis for satisfaction, I really would hope to find more options than chocolate milk in plastic bottles in the refrigerator that I could find at any convenience store. It made me sad. So, no, you can't order a glass of milk there. Or at least they don't have it on the menu. How disappointing is that? So to fill the cracks of my broken heart, I ordered a hot fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream. It was pretty good, but honestly? McDonald's wins. The store is pretty cute though. Lots of cartoons cows and "moo" jokes to be had. I think maybe people with kids are more into that sort of thing.

The only downfall with this place is their heavy calorie count. While the creaminess of the desserts offered here can entice you to cheat in your daily intake, it really isn't a good idea to eat too often from here. However, the way they keep up with the classic ice cream parlour image is pretty swell. I find it a bit more charming than the interiors of more "modern" ice cream shops. I especially like how they use glass bottles, even if they are on the heavier side. I'm not going to have very many of their Sundaes often, but I might consider frequenting for the milk and the atmoshere.

I like it. I came here with 2 children and they loved it! I liked it because they had low fat options and board games that kept the kids occupied for a moment while I enjoyed my low fat ice cream. Yes it is little expensive but then again all of these ice cream shops are and it is not like I am going to come here everyday. It is a special treat place.

I've never cared for Oberweis' overly heavy ice cream, and their faux old-fashioned dairy-parlor aesthetic is too cartoony and strangely corporate. But, today's great weather (62 and sunny!) enticed me in here on my way back to work after lunch. I've been conducting a half-hearted effort to find a good chocolate-malt milkshake, so I tried theirs. First of all--this thing cost $4.99 plus tax. Five dollars for a 16-ounce milkshake is a bit steep. Good thickness, but on flavor, it's pretty subpar (although a crappy milkshake is no great hardship). It's too malty and not chocolately enough, but also, the malt tasted unusual. It was sort of ...woody? Nutty? Hard to explain, but it was odd. Not unpleasant, but not what a malt should taste like.

Pricey, yes, but really creamy, and delicious ice-cream and shakes. I am a big fan of their chocolate milk!.

Great stuff, but overpriced. I usually choose elsewhere due to the pricing.

my friend over hyped it. she made it seem like the best ice cream in the world.. i had the BLUEBERRY PIE but i don't see why it was so amazing.. my friend described it as "goatey" which no one can figure out what that means really. puhahahaha. but if you are near one and in the mood for dessert on a hot humid day-- definitely try it! :)) word of advice though from my glenview native friends-- the ice cream scoop and the ice cream in the tubs supposedly taste different!

Oberweise? More like Overpriced...don't get me wrong the ice cream is good and the shakes are thick and creamy...But they are similarily delicious at many ice cream shops at a fraction of the price. If money aint a thing for you, by all means, but pass for a more a sensibly priced place if you can.

YEA TO FREE COFFEE FRIDAYS! Aside from that, this is the only store where I buy my vanilla ice cream. So pure, so simple, so milky, so rich, so natural.

This Oberweis is such a great dairy store. The ice cream is delicious and the employees there are incredibly nice. The store is really clean and I love everything about that store. This is such a great Oberweis that I recommend this to all!

Not cheap, but it's some of the best non-gelato ice cream I've had. Extremely rich, smooth, and fresh. Like getting ice cream straight from the udder.

Another taste of home. I live in Washington, DC now, but whenever I get home for a visit, I MUST make a stop at Oberweis for chocolate chip ice cream. If I've been a really good girl, then I get their home made fudge sauce on top. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. If you happen past an Oberweis, make sure you stop. The ice cream is perfectly creamy. The Vanilla is not bland like some other vanilla's. It's bold and yummy. The Chocolate is not too sweet and tastes like a semisweet chocolate bar. Might I also recommend the Chocolate Caramel crunch? The ice cream is the perfect texture. Also, if you're looking for good skim milk, Oberweis is quite impressive. Their skim milk isn't bluey grey. It's pure white and tastes like 2%. The chocolate milk ain't bad either! Basically, you can't go wrong with any of the products Oberweis makes.

After a rough day for me and my wife having a bad day at work and it being the first night of Hanukkah, I decided that we needed some comfort food. With it being late fall and the middle of the holiday season, I couldn't resists both the Egg Nog and Cinnamon ice cream. My wife got her beloved Peppermint and we got a soft serve Vanilla for our 22 month old. Everything was excellent. The North Shore has a lot of great places for Ice Cream and Oberweis is an excellent spot.
