Awesome, hearty, delicious food with fun decor ( 20's - current cars and signage) and occasional live entertainment. I've had chicken wraps, wings, burgers, hearty country meals and well-mixed drinks plus a great selection of beers. Lots of tv's to go around, game area and excellent music whether the juke box is on or not. Great people own this place and if you like the kind of bar that's genuine with great prices and interesting people, this is definitely the place for you. There are specials for nearly every day of the week and tomorrow, since it's Friday, we're trying the Fish Fry and it's Walleye or Catfish unlimited (beer battered) and there is a selection of additional fish dinners as well. Tuesdays is Mexican food (tacos, chimichangas, burritos). Wednesdays is 1/2 Price Food from 3-10pm. Thursdays is hearty country dinners for $6.99. I had the country ham dinner and mashed potatoes last time. It was delicious and the serving was huge. For $7 it was just awesome. There are daily drink specials also. Here is there website: cruisingilberts.com They have a really cool old car show every Sunday and a lot of people bring their old cars and put them on display in the parking lot. I realize Gilberts, IL is not the nearest place for everyone but if you're ever passing through and are in a mood for a good 'ole country bar & grill, give this place a try. You won't regret it.

I have been here twice and the food is fantastic. Everything is homemade..the soups, buns for the sandwiches...ect. Tuesday is corn beef day and we had the best rebuen sandwich I have ever had. The burgers are great...can't say enough good things about this place off the beaten path.

I made my way out to Cruisin recently to meet a friend for a bite and drinks and had a great time. I loved the atmosphere and decor. Nice casual place to hang out. We just ordered the Sicilian pizza which was really good! Nice light crust, lots of cheese, garlic, basil and tomatoes tasted very fresh yum! The staff was really great too. Unfortunately It's a bit out of the way for me, but I would definately return.

First visit to Cruisin was this past Tuesday night. We met up with our Grandmother and Aunt who both enjoy eating here. My grandmother ordered her pizza as always, and the waiter gave her a little bit of a hard time because he said no substitutions on specialty pizza's, but since they weren't busy he said he would do it for her. Our order was hot and fresh. The corned beef sandwich was very simple, yet very tasty. I also took a bite of the bbq pulled pork sandwich which was really good as well. Our drinks were filled and were asked several times if we needed anything. Four adult dinners with a couple of long islands and our bill was still under $70 including gratuity. I would visit again and would recommend it if you're in the area..

Love cruisin, great food, great prices, great atmosphere. Owner is really nice, staff is wonderful! Ive been there 100 times and this restaurant is on my top 5 for casual dining establishments. Fish fry is the bomb. Highy recommend.

The pizza is not the reason to come here, but that's what we got the last two trips. It's a good solid 3. The atmosphere and it's local-ness make it a five. But we're rating food and service? Then Cruisins is a three

Great food, great service ! I eat a lot of chicken on salad, this was one of the best! Hard to make a chicken on salad different from the rest, but they did with a smoky chipotle and the perfect cheese!

My family and I have been coming here every Tuesday for a long time now as the Corned Beef is very good and the Split pea soup is just like grandma used to make. We have especially enjoyed our waiter Jamie as he always makes us feel welcome and important so we were very sad to hear that he is no longer there, and although the food is very tatsy we would prefer go where people make us feel at home. Sadly this is not how we felt this past Tuesday, it was exactly the opposit. We felt as if we were being rushed and we were not very happy about that at all. Looks like it's time to find another place for the family to eat. If anyone knows where Jamie has relocated to please post and we will gladly go there for dinner from now on, or if Jamie returns please post and we to will return as well.

We liked the restaurant decoration of Harley and license plates. The food was very good. The only problem was there was only one server for the entire dining room. Which made getting the food and drinks a it of a lengthy experience . Hopefully the problem will be addressed as we live nearby and would like to go there again.

I came here based on others reviews... What a mistake!! The place looks like a dive from the outside and feels like a dive when your inside. We had the broasted chicken and a burger. The burger was cold and the chicken was tasteless. Don't waste your time here unless your looking for cold beer and crappy bar food

Third time back this time we ordered from the lunch menu. As always the food was outstanding as were the drinks and our server. For starters we ordered Bloody Mary's (it was Saturday after all) which really hit the spot. After that we had a couple of Moscow Mules - if you have never had one of these definitely treat yourself. Refreshing and liberating to say the least! After that we had a couple IPAs of which there was one called FIST that was outstanding. I highly recommend you try it. We started off our meal with with a couple cups of chili. Now, to be fair I have to say that the chili was the only disappointing thing out of our entire afternoon. It lacked the heft and depth that anyone who treasures a good Chili, expects. It was served warm but not warm enough to melt the cheese. The "meats" prepared and served at this establishment are par excellent so why in the world a meat chili would be lacking is a mystery. Moving past the Chili, we ordered the King Burger (1 lb Angus beef, with cheese and bacon) medium rare, and waffle fries. My wife ordered the Chicken and Steak combo with asparagus (she received broccoli instead). The steak and burger were cooked to perfection. The bun was fresh and the waffle fries were abundant. If you order this burger expect to take half of it home it is the that big and delicious. I have to say when it comes to their meats (Chicken, Pork or Beef) the quality is just hard to explain - it simply should not be this off the chart good. My wife shared half her steak with me as she was getting full and the steak could be cut with a fork and nearly melted in my mouth. As the song goes, "two out of three ain't bad" I would have to rate today's visit as an 8 out of 10. The Chili was the only sour note, otherwise everything was on par with our past visits. I am still a huge fan of Cruisin and perhaps they will give that Chili recipe some extra love. I will be ordering it again....just to see if they do! :-)

My date and I ordered a horseshoe and the pulled pork. Both were very good. For drinks i had a Pumpking beer and she had a mai-tai. Both were good. The beer menu is still developing (they just got Revolution on tap). I was also not surprised to see Schlitz. The bill was $35 for the food and drinks. Service was decent. It was a tuesday night so i think there was just one server for the whole dining room. The atmosphere is awesome! I love the lighting and they were playing the Beatles on rotation. The bar has a "homie" feel and there are plenty of TVs. We sat in a booth with wooden benches. The seats were very far from the table, which i guess is necessary to accommodate larger patrons comfortably. Overall, i recommend it. I'd like to return and try the entrees.

We went on a Friday for the fish fry. All of the people working there are very friendly (including the owner) and make you feel very welcome. The place was packed, but they did a good job getting people seated and served. The fish fry was great. Large portions and good taste. There was a mixup with our side dishes, but with a packed house, that was understandable. It was quickly taken care of. The only drawback, and to me it was a huge drawback, was the water. I ordered iced tea and it tasted and smelled like unfiltered well water. Disgusting. I switched to coke with no ice, but of course, the soft drink syrup was mixed with the same water and tasted terrible. I would go back for the food, but next time i will bring my own bottle of water. That was nasty.

Had a classic burger with cheddar and grilled onions, very good burger. Awesome selection of beers, service was great. Soft drinks tastdd kinda funny, maybe its the water? All in all good food good service.

Good food, polite service. Very busy Friday night, but all was handled well by the staff. Baked and battered cod were delicious. Will definitely be back for more.

We had the walleye Friday night fish fry. It was good. Service was good too. We were originally quoted about half an hour wait. We waited about 15 minutes. The decor is classic cars & records circa 1950's. Parking on Friday night is a challenge, though.

My friends and I love coming here for the Hawks games. The past 3 years we have been there for most playoff games. I love the food, service and the music. I would recommend this location to anyone in the area. Must check it out!

GF recommended this place while family was in town visiting. Food was actually cooked to order, and the 12 yr old even said his burger was one of the better ones he had. Staff was attentive and bright with us. Even let us know about events and got to meet the owner, kinda cool.

We love this place. Great food every time. Corned beef is exceptional on Irish Tuesdays. Beef stroganoff is noteworthy. Breaded chicken is crisp and tasty. Staff is always friendly and efficient. Oysters were a surprising delight. Eat here, we do

A reliable place to go for American comfort food. Have eaten here several times; food always tastes fresh and somewhere between definitely good and wonderful. Great sweet potato fries. Check out their daily specials; on our last visit really enjoyed the BBQ special (ribs & pulled pork, very tasty.) Fun atmosphere, always has an easy welcoming vibe, like a local hangout place should be. Waitstaff friendly, fun & attentive. Solid 4 stars.

I miss this place since I moved to the city. We used to get Bloody Mary's for our hangovers every Sunday. The steak sandwich is top notch. I try to get it every time I'm in the area.

Cute little place, really nice to be able to go there for a Friday fish fry. Drinks here are decent, but maybe I'm spoiled- they seem like they could be a bit short poured at times, but maybe that's the particular bar staff.

Great area bar. Have had many fun nights here with people that live in the area. Bartenders and servers are always more than nice. If you don't like small, local bars then this isn't the place for you.

I have only been here to eat, not the bar. But the food was great and love the local, friendly atmosphere. Food was good and prices were reasonable.

  • McLady M.

I have never been disappointed with the food at this place. The prices are good and even better if you order the daily special. Everything tastes freshly prepared and home cooked. Their stuffed green pepper soup is fantastic. Ask for the macaroni and cheese side, you'll come back just for that. Their burgers are really sized right and cooked just right as well as the piston rods that are like onion rings that look like fries. I make this place a regular place to go get a nice meal and sometimes a beer or on Sundays, a bloody mary. I had to give this place a five because everything I've had I have been very pleased with (including portions sizes) and the staff is friendly and service is good. The only, (I mean only) thing I would change is their broasted chicken. Although it is cooked right, it lacks seasoning. I would recommend anything else on this menu without reservation.

Best burger around. Hands down. They have some other things going for them as well. Mainly, big enough space for families and separated bar/gambling area, variety of menu options to satisfy any taste or picky eater, friendly staff, quality food. Variety of daily specials. We will be back.

Found out about this place from a friend and have had something different each time and everything hot and tasty..Hamburgers are fullsize 10oz .fresh , not frozen and just love the homemade potato chips. have had the chix. and prime rib dinners and each are as good as the other. Family run bar and all treat everyone as an old friend . Will be back again.....

So my family and I decided to return after our bad experience a few months ago. Much better experience this time...our waitress Kim was great! Friday night fish fry was ok, not great. But service this time was so much better!

Standard "country" bar waaaaaay out past the suburbs. The set up is not too shabby with a long bar and a few TVs. I have never tried the restaurant part but my friends like to hang out here when visiting our friends that have moved waaaaaaaay out there.

Man, Junk Yard Fries are the best. I always tell myself I'll finally try something else but the minute I walk in I want to get my hands on fries with cheese, steak, jalapeño and sour cream. Hmmm, makes me hungry just thinking about it. Also try their fried pickles.

I visited Cruisin again today with my daughter, my brother and his wife, and a friend. Again, I could not resist the burger! (One day I'll have to try something else!) My Brother and his friend also went for the burgers, and all of them were cooked to order, and arrived tasty. I asked the owner (I assume) about the meat. It's a special custom blend of Angus 87/13. The flavor is really nice, and it's leaner than most, yet still very juicy and flavorful. My daughter had Chicken Nuggets off the kids menu. They were good. My sister in law had the French Onion Soup. She liked the fact that they used croutons instead of a whole slice of bread. (Easier to eat without trying to cut through a whole slice) We also had Fried Pickles and the Cheese Curds as starters. I had the sweet potato fries, and my brother had the waffle fries. Both were very good. I plan on going back soon to check out some of the other offerings. I think my wife will like to try the Surf and Turf special on Saturdays, so perhaps we will give that a go.

Small town, booming restaurant/bar. Great portions, decent pricing, average food (nothing memorable or terrible) & mediocre service. But the atmosphere is awesome. Busy country bar... I guess this is the place to be

Burger...spectacular....pot roast...very good...kids said chicken fingers and nuggets were great. Patty Melt also delicious. Staff friendly and just plain good. Cheese curds (afterthought) were quite yummy. This is a definite repeat spot.

We frequent Cruisin' quite a bit since we live in the area. We've tried many, many appetizers, but our favorites by far are the cheddar pints (like cheese curds), fried pickles (dill pickle spears deep fried), and the fried green beans (with this amazing spicy sweet n sour type sauce they serve with it). Wednesday nights used to be 50% off, and they have recently changed to 40%. Wish it was still 50%, but hey .... it's still a deal. (UPDATE 2/2/13: They no longer offer any percentage discount on Wednesday nights - very disappointing, and we don't eat here nearly as often now) Favorite entree -- the steak and chicken. It's almost always what I personally order. Be sure to also try the broasted chicken. Yum! The food is great, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. If you prefer to dine somewhere that isn't a bar atmosphere, don't worry -- the restaurant portion is separate from the bar area, though you will need to pass thru the bar area to get to the restrooms. It's also great for families (ie: it can be LOUD) - my kids love going there. OH - one last tip -- the potato cheese soup (typically served Wednesdays - not sure if/when it's served any other day) -- is DELICIOUS. A reason on it's own to go to Cruisin'!!!!

Excellent burgers! The staff is really friendly and quick. The beers are cold and tasty. I haven't found anything to complain about. I'm looking forward to trying their fish fry.

It was a Sunday afternoon and my parents asked if I wanted to go out to lunch....I mean how can I say no to free food and they were letting me pick any place I wanted!! I chcked my list of places I wanted to try and decided to give Cruisin's a try, its less then 5 minutes away from my house and I've only been in there really quick for a beer but never had thier food. I wished I had the first time, it was amazing!!! It was empty in the dining area, and the bartender was also our waiter and he was always checking on us seeing if we needed anything. That was so awesome because he also had to make drinks for the people at the bar. We started with the nachos, which were very good. I mean its not every place where you have cheese left over and no chips!! I ordered a beer and my mom ordered a mai tai, best mai tai I've ever tasted!!!For Lunch I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and waffle fries(at an extra dollar) and sooooo worth it!! they were seasoned and crispy and just all around yummy. The chicken had good flavor and a huge piece. My dad got the BBQ special, for $14.99 he got half a slab of ribs, 2 pieces of chicken, and a pulled pork sandwich....Wholey food!!! The ribs fell right off the bone and the BBQ sauce was really good. The pulled pork melted in your mouth and the chicken was very juicey and full of flavor. My mom got the mushroom chicken sandwich which was also very good!! The menu is huge and I had a hard time deciding on what to order, so I will be back for sure to try all the other options!!

  • George H.

Everything was excellent! We had the 8pc broasted BBQ wings and they were delicious, juicy, and crispy. My wife had the fried haddock and she loved it. I had the Bacon Blue burger which I ordered medium rare and they cooked it to perfection. They put care and attention to all the entrees to the point of even giving high attention to the kids macaroni and cheese - which was incredibly cheesy and delicious. This was our first visit--we will definitely be back!

  • Cookie M.

The food here was average and underwhelming. We ordered the veggie wrap and it was very oily. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the special for the day...a pork chop. My pulled pork sandwich was fine, nothing special and the portion was too small. The pork chop was dry. Period. Dry. The children meals offered not a single healthy choice....just fried ones and carbs. Someone needs to inform restaurants that kids deserve to eat better than fried fatty crappy food.

Good prices, good food....not a huge fan of their pizza...i definitely want to try their irish & german nights to see what kind of food they have...

We live in the area and go there every Wednesday night for the now 40% off night. As a family of 5, we usually get out of there for under $30 bucks (not including tip.) The cheese & potato soup is the BEST! Some other favorites are the nacho(get the taco meat on top), the herb tilapia sandwich and the chicken& shroom sandwiches are awesome! The staff is friendly and it is just an overall great place to go. Highly suggest going there even if it is "out in the stix."

I have heard a lot about this restuarant so I was really excited to try it out! We went for my boyfriend's birthday and he demolished the 1 pound burger which I tasted and was probably one of the best burgers I had. I had the buffalo chicken wrap which was good. I especially enjoyed the German platter his mom ordered which was pork shoulder over mashed potatoes. Our service was top notch and I can't wait to try Crusin again!!

We head over here occasionally - it's not in the usual direction we head for shopping so doesn't make our 'regular haunts' list. Went there tonight - Burger hubby had was *fantastic* - it was the Texas burger. Son had Chicen Caeser - chicken was cooked to pefection, but they lost points because of too much dressing - order it on the side next time. I had French Onion Soup, something you don't find on too many menues these day, and it was perfect - a bit sweet, not too salty and cheese heading towards crispy on the top. Wait staff are always great. Bar is often hopping (though we've only gone into eat) - seems like a great neighbourhood bar kinda place. Friday fish fry is popular - we've been in the past, and were happy with it. One thing you have to get if you go here is the fried pickle appetizer... if you like dill pickles that is. Prices are reasonable. Food is reliably good. You aren't going to find anything unusual on the menu, but you will get what you order. Recommended: Yes Will I return: Yes.

Excellent restaurant. I love the staff, one of the owners is always mingling between the tables,. Any meals I've had there is excellent and worth more than I've paid for it. I specifically recommend the fried pickles! This restaurant is a must if you are passing through Gilberts!
