OMG. So freakin good. Worth the long wait on the weekends for sure. Once you get a table it's fast service. Everything is so delicious here, love love love. Please stay in Geneva forever!!! Also -- the jam they give you is so delicious and when I asked about it, they sell fresh jars so I got to take some home!!

For a special treat, about 4-5 times every year, my husband and I order chilaquiles from Egg Harbor Cafe in Geneva, to go. I can't speak to any other menu item, or to the service or atmosphere, but I can say that these chilaquiles are the best that we've been able to find, in the Geneva vicinity.

The food is always good; service also. I appreciate the turkey sausage option (and EH offered it before it was trendy in this area). That said, it is loud (dishes & voices due to poor sound insulation) & I don't think I've ever gotten in without a wait. Prices are typical for good breakfast in the area.

We go to Egg Harbor once a week (either Saturday or Sunday). It's that good. The breakfast menu is awesome! I have tried so many things that I love and haven't even tried everything yet. The service is superb. Because we're regulars, several staff will stop by our table to see how we are doing and just chat. They are allll such sweet people. Expect to wait so don't go here if your so hungry you're about to eat your arm off (especially on Sundays)

The negative: expect to wait for a table on the weekend. The positives: Orange-strawberry juice, cinnamon roll French toast, Harbor potatoes, customized egg scramblers, pumpkin pancakes, thick bacon, their exclusive English muffins, the turkey burgers, the unique iced teas, outdoor seating, even the colored pencils at the table... I love this place!

Breakfast at Egg Harbor is quite delicious- I've tried numerous menu items and enjoyed many of them. Other reviewers are correct- it is extremely crowded and noisy on the weekends- and still fairly busy on weekdays- but they move people in and out quickly. Food wise- I love the Harbor Potatoes- and the Summer's in Italy French Toast is my favorite "sweet" breakfast item I've ever eaten at a breakfast restaurant!

Great place and great service! Food is fresh, service is very good and it's in a great downtown Geneva location.

Very good brunch. We came in at closing and the staff was still great. Boys enjoyed the kids sampler. Berry oatmeal was good and wife enjoyed the Sedona salad. Great family restaurant.

I really like Egg Harbor and seeing as I am a creature of habit, I stick with the things that I know I like so I am not disappointed. Today, I was disappointed. I went to breakfast with a couple of girlfriends. I mentioned the location in downtown Wheaton, but they thought Geneva was closer, so off we went. The wait time wasn't bad, but once we were past the front waiting area, we couldn't hear anything. It was so loud in there! We honestly were yelling at each other over the table. Not my idea of a nice "catch-up" sort of breakfast. The black current iced tea is my favorite and I have not been drinking much other than water these days, so I was really looking forward to it and my glass was empty without a refill long before I would have liked. Finally, my potatoes were undercooked AND overcooked. How did they do that? Some pieces were burnt and some were raw and hard as a rock. Egg Harbor, I love ya' baby, but you've got some work to do in Geneva.

  • Sandy A.

They have gotten really smart and moved the person who takes names for the tables outside! This reduces the congestion inside! Why is there congestion? Because the food and service are both top notch. I love the entire menu. HIGHLY recommend this place.

I am a huge fan of breakfast. Probably the best meal of the day. When I go to a restaurant I want to just sit and relax. Although it is possible here, this wasn't a place that knocked my socks off. No real negatives. Just the staff was fine, food good, price ok, nothing bad to report. A place to go get a meal but just that I guess. I have been to a couple of the other locations and I think it is just the vibe I get from the place itself. Maybe just not my style.

All Egg Harbors are awesome. I just would never order grits again. Obviously, people do not eat grits often. Otherwise, everything on their menu is awesome!

Delicious food and service! I go here a few times a year--usually to meet with friends to have a nice breakfast. There is almost always a line when we go (which is usually weekend mornings) but the wait is never longer than 10 or 15 minutes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The prices are also reasonable.

Egg Harbor is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places. I've never been disappointed in my meal choices. The hazelnut coffee, or any coffee is delicious. The juices; strawberry orange juice, orange, lemonade, are all great. Pumpkin pancakes or any seasonal or special is definitely a must. The wait staff are always knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. I've never been disappointed and will continue to go to Egg Harbor.

Egg harbor does breakfast and lunch well. The door county melt and cinnamon roll french toast are a couple of standout items, but to be honest, I have never had a subpar meal or service here. What is subpar is their organization; the mediocre system works during the slow times, but be prepared for chaos and frustration when it is busy.

I would eat here every day if I could. Everything I've ever ordered has been good. My fondest memory is of lobster crepes. Beware of Sunday morning crowd, extremely busy.

We've gone to Egg Harbor since it opened. I've only ever had great experiences there. The menu is fantastic - classics and variations on classics, plenty of vegetarian options, fresh-squeezed orange juice, excellent coffee, etc. The wait staff is a cut above - I always feel like I'm the only customer even when I can see our server working with other tables. That's impressive. It's consistent, too, so not a fluke. It's nice that there's a little competition for them in Geneva these days because we used to wait 30 minutes to get a table when they opened. I normally won't wait, but we did quite a few times (worth it every time). It was that good then, and it's still that good. Highly recommended.

Great food and service! We are never disappointed, and usually take family and friends here. In the summer it is awesome to sit outside on the lawn--almost like having your own private dining service. The food is amazing--fresh tasting and always filling. Their gluten free menu spells out breakfast (and lunch) options not usually found on a gluten free menu. It is nice to have a nice selection of gluten free options.

Got there at 1115am on a Friday (the 4th of July) and it was already full. Only waited 5 minutes, but c'mon people... The food was good, my wife got a frittatta with goat cheese, and more cheese on top, and spinach. I got the Santa Fe roll-up and soup - vegetarian vegetable. Good food, small portions (but enough). Prices are good for the portion, if a little high for a breakfast joint. It was kind of loud in there, and the service was just okay. Recommended if you're trying to impress out of town people, but there are better options if you're not.

food was really good. french toast yum yum! we had to wait about 10 minutes and the place was rather hectic inside. that's the atmosphere to expect. the food could be worth it unless you want a relaxing morning...if so go elsewhere.

This is a great breakfast place! I like this Egg Harbor better than the others I have been to. Adorable ambiance. Super friendly service every single time. Great menu. I have only had breakfast though because there is so much to try! Good coffee, good juice and tea selection. Pumpkin pancakes!! YAY! The only negative is the wait and the crowd, and it often feels hectic in there so you might want to try not going during peak times.. I wish they stayed open longer so I could have brekkie for dinner!!

This is our local Egg Harbor Cafe and, unfortunately, it's our least favorite. That's not to say it isn't good...every meal has been enjoyable and the service is friendly. However it's the little things that are missing. The coffee (which still is claimed to be from Intelligentsia) is just not as good, the to go cup lids are the cheapest possible lip-cutting plastic, the interior design is more generic, the biscuits are not lightly toasted, etc. I can actually go on, but then I'd show too much of my OCD side. In summary, it's still a very good breakfast place but it's not up to the usual Egg Harbor standard.

I'm definitely a fan of this place! One of my favorites in the area to get breakfast! The restaurant is very busy on the weekends, but the food and service are still outstanding. The best is when you can eat outside when the weather's nice so you don't have to deal with the noisiness inside. Their harbor scramble is one of my favorites. The diced potatoes topped with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. So yummy and not at all greasy! All ingredients tastes very fresh compared to other breakfast restaurants I've been. I also like getting their belgian waffle and I have them add in chocolate chips with a side of whipped cream! So good and the waffle is nice, light and fluffy!

I've been to other Egg Harbor Cafe's, but this one rises above the rest with their location and great service. They have many healthy choices, including the popular Joe's Healthy scrambler. Everything, including their fresh-squeezed, flavored juices, is worth trying on the menu! Enjoy! *Outdoor seating available!

So ...i returned for a quick bite of lunch. Had the Sloppy Joe ... i just had to try it ...you dont see Sloppy Joe's on many menues. It kicked ass ... it was the bruce lee of sloppy joe's. Wonderful ...if i could have licked the plate i would have. Definitely stop by here if you have a chance ... good food, decent prices and friendly service.

Hands down the BEST place to eat breakfast on a weekend. Their Sir Dugan frittata is amazing. Any dish you order is as good as it sounds on the menu. Also, one of the best parts, a bottomless pot of a blend of coffee made especially for Egg Harbor by one of the greatest coffee shops, Intelligentsia. Great for waking up early on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Tip - get there early because the line will be out the door if you wait too long.

Went for breakfast and loved the food , and service.... I wish it was not so noisy, I could hardly hear my friend talking! I Love how they have a water carafe with fresh lemon, so you don't need to ask for water every time.:)

Good food but not worth the wait. Avoid Sunday brunch. Wait times are over an hour usually and they seem to be disorganized and not ready for crowds.

This is a great little breakfast spot and on the weekends you can sit outside at the wine shops patio and get served as long as you have a glass of wine or champagne as well. A OK! :)

I absolutely love this place and its wait staff! It is a great breakfast stop. It is also a nice 45 minute walk from Batavia during the spring, summer, fall, and warmer winter days. I love so many things on their menu. The banana blackberry pancakes are melt in your mouth... literally! My favorites are: any skillet any of the 'healthy options' Tuna Italiano sandwich Sir Dugan fresh squeezed orange juice Intelligentsia 'Egg Harbor Blend' Coffee

Pleasant place for breakfast or brunch. Noisy at times with chatter reflecting off the ceiling - or from a lot of children sitting nearby. Long wait on weekends but they move the patrons through (lots of practice). A little pricey for what you get but the food is fresh with lots of healthy selections on the menu.

Brought my mom here once and it was delicious; been to the Barrington location as well, also amazing. We brought the family back here for a weekend brunch the other day and was wowed again. Apple cinnamon pancakes were great. We've also tried their soups and brought a quart of the chicken and wild rice home this time. We decided to attempt to resist the delicious breakfasts and try their lunch menu on our next visit.

This is the perfect breakfast stop in Geneva. They not only have delicious breakfast, but they have even more amazing specials that change every week. Last week I had blueberry french toast with fresh strawberries on top with warm maple syrup and blueberry compote. How can anyone say no to that! Along with the sweets come the savory. They have delicious omelets and frittatas as well. You must give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

  • Megan W.

Great breakfast menu and a large variety of options. Only complaint is that it's a little crowded feeling and kind of loud, but I can deal with that for a great breakfast! We try to go here at least once when we're in town visiting family!

Excellent mouth watering food. I try ordering different items every time I go, and there's never a miss - all good. Same with family and friends, they all love it. Everyone is happy and friendly and never act bothered if you request something, even when they are slammed. Avoid the after church crowds on Sunday, the lines are brutal. So go early or after 1pm.

The folks at Intelligentsia Coffee would die of embarrassment if they tasted what this place did to their coffee-dear god! An over priced dinner that 'specializes in eggs' but the eggs aren't organic. Not NOT not a foodie spot. If you like good food and good coffee this is not the place!

  • James B.

This place i would recommend going to anyone...The waitress was very nice and really knowledgeable about the menu..Which most waitresses are not. The corn bread french toast, Swedish pancakes and pancakes are awesome...We were shocked how fast the food came out too..I am definitely going back again to try the omelets and some of the other things people on here recommended..Thank you to the others on here..

Tried this place again because the place we were hoping to go to wasn't yet open on a Sunday morning. Anyway, this place sucks. I got the Lobster Quiche and it was doused in nasty orange colored hollandaise sauce that was supposed to be some sort of roasted pepper concoction. It was so gross!! The place is super busy for absolutely no reason other than it is in downtown Geneva. I won't be going back!

Great place for breakfast! Gotta love the Popeye Crepes, and surely the chorizo skillet! Try the cinnamon roll french toast and the seasonal lemon bread french toast. I have never been disappointed here. The only thing if I'm going to be picky here, is the home fries always seem a little cold. Almost like they have 2 tons of it sitting in a dump truck outside... just a observation. Ive probably been there about 20 times and never, ever, have they been hot of the skillet. But then again, I don't go there for the home fries.

  • Kim F.

Our favorite breakfast place! The only bad thing I can say is that it's too hard to choose what to have. They change their menu seasonally and we want to try it all! We've been here on several occasions and each time has been excellent food and excellent service. They've got something for everyone and I love that they offer fruit as a side instead of potatoes.

By far- my fave breakfast spot! And I do try to hit a new place every week. Seasonal menu assures that I return at least 4 times a yr. Today is was the Blue Scramble that called me in. Frittatas & Benedicts are always great. When I dine in, the fresh sqeezed OJ is a must! If you can't stand the long weekend waits, take-out is always ready in 10 mins. Ask for Gary- He rocks my weekend world.

Bacon Waffle. Need more be said? The coffee is unreal and I can say with all honesty that nothing on this menu is bad. In fact I've tried items that don't normally appeal to me and they've impressed!

I have been to this place at least half a dozen times. After Lume's this is my second favorite breakfast place for the Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia area. If you are downtown Geneva this is an easy walk.

  • Karl W.

A solid breakfast establishment. I've probably been here 5 or 6 times and everything was fine, although so far nothing has really impressed me unlike some of the other reviewers here. On my last visit, I had the Spicy Pepper & Egg Flatbread. It was decent, but I think they forgot the spice. It wasn't spicy at all. The flatbread was warm and tasty. They are open until 2pm and serve lunch; I suggest the lunch over the breakfast, as many of their sandwiches are very good (the San Diego Turkey burger is my favorite... yummy). The service is fast and polite. Lots of regulars here, you can tell, so they must be doing something right. If you come here for Sunday breakfast it's *loud* and crowded, with lots of little kids in tow. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but just wanted to warn you in case you were looking for a quiet place.

I took my wife and son for lunch here and the place is nice. The food was good - I had their Irish Oatmeal which was very good - they leave a container of coffee at your table which was very nice as well. This is the second time that I've been at this particular Egg Harbor and would recommend to others. It is also located in a very nice outdoor mall.

One of the best breakfast places around as the food is excellent. Ordered the Banana Bread French Toast - very good! Also have ordered the Sloppy Joe which was very good. Both times the wait staff has been excellent - you will not be dissapointed.

Our first visit today, had a meat skillet and farmer's market eggs benedict. Yummy, fresh, and not too pricey. Someday will go and get the $3.25 glass of strawberry orange juice, which will make it pricey but I would expect will also be worth it. Lots of stuff on the menu I want to try.

My boyfriend and I always choose this restaurant when we decide to dine out for Breakfast. Neither of us have ever ordered anything from here that wasn't delicious. The prices are normal for a sit-down breakfast cafe. Like $7.50 for a skillet or omelette. The place is very busy on weekends though. It is only open until 2:00 PM as it is known for their breakfast/brunch menu. So there is usually a wait. Neither of us mind waiting for a seat as long as it's less than 45 minutes...being as we both worked in food service before, so we're aware that restaurants do get busy and there are only so many people working at a time. So, if you're a patient person who enjoys going out for breakfast now and then, I recommend Egg Harbor Cafe.

Egg Harbor is very, very good. I can't give it 5 stars only because my love for Richard Walker's is much more. I have always gotten very good and quality food from here. This place gets very crowded, but I find it is worth the wait.

I love Egg Harbor. I know it's really just an upscale IHOP with way too many chickens decorating the place, but I find their breakfast dishes to be wonderful. The Summer in Italy french toast is my hands down favorite breakfast and is well worth the 20 minute wait on weekend mornings. Served with a nice glass of their strawberry orange juice... mmmmmm.....

This place was a big disappointment. I spent about $40 on mediocre food. The waitress must have had something against smiling and being pleasant. I have had better pancakes and turkey burgers at a diner. I ordered a salad with caesar dressing and it came with a very runny, Italian looking dressing. It looked so disgusting that I couldnt bear to try it. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

This was a great little lunch spot that I went to with my friend. We were going to downtown Geneva to do some shopping and decided to try it after growing up seeing it in Yorktown Mall back in Lombard but never trying it out. We were sat right away and it was surprising kind of crowded for a Monday afternoon, but there are a lot of stay at home moms in Geneva! We were greeted right away by our server who took our drink order and we ordered shorty after. She went with the Door County Melt which was a sweet chicken salad that had dried cranberries and apples in it that was toasted with cheese. I went with the Lobster Salad Melt which was lobster salad (think tuna but with lobster) and cheddar cheese toasted lightly to melt the cheese. Both were served with a side of greens with poppyseed dressing and mine came with home fries and hers with potato pancakes. We were both very pleased with our meals...I believe mine could have had a bit more lobster and a bit less celery, but overall, it was good and tasty! We will definitely be going back to try some of their other interesting items on their menu! YUM!

great place for a typical comforting breakfast. when all you want are some eggs bacon and hash browns, this place is for you..not to say it doesnt offer up a great menu..they have all you can imagine. my personal favorite is the black bean omelette. they are usually packed on the weekends. and for good reason. its good food at a good price

Tried this place on a recent trip to Chicago area. My wife had been several times before and raved about it. Filling and tasty breakfast "skillets", the one I had was potato, meats and cheese with eggs on top. They have lunch items too but definitely specializes in egg dishes and breakfast items. My wife had a orange/strawberry juice which was fresh tasting. Coffee was pretty good, maybe a little weak for my tastes but still good. Service was friendly and efficient, they seemed to be very well staffed. Not a cheap breakfast but you get a lot. We went late morning on a Friday and it was pretty busy, I imagine its crazy on a weekend morning.

I enjoy Egg Harbor for what it is: a casual, country-kitsch brunch place that provides quick service and big portions. I have always enjoyed the food I have had at Egg Harbor - usually an omelet or some eggs, or their fantastic San Diego turkey burger with cholula mayonnaise. Most items, including the burgers, are served with potatoes, which could always use more seasoning. Yet the portions are very large - usually more than one person can manage - so it's unlikely you'll go home hungry! I can't give Egg Harbor four stars because frankly, the quality and creativity of the food here is average. It's good, but it's not great. It certainly doesn't compare to the kind of brunch served at Nosh down the street. But hey, sometimes you just want some eggs and bacon, and that's where Egg Harbor makes for a great stop. That said, however, I do get extremely annoyed at the service at Egg Harbor. They are always trying to get customers in-and-out as quickly as possible, and I often feel rushed. Today, for example, the waitress asked me if I wanted a box for my salad, just two minutes after my meal arrived at the table! Later, the table was cleared and cleaned while I was still standing next to it, putting on my jacket! Unfortunately, these are common occurrences - it is rare to be asked by the waitstaff how your meal tastes or if you want/need anything else, which means you typically have to flag someone down if you're in need of extra napkins. And the staff is usually so eager to get people seated that they'll put two patrons in a table big enough for six, rather than making them wait. Perhaps some of you appreciate that you're given the very first table that becomes available, but I would rather a big family have that table for six than just my husband and I. Still, Egg Harbor is a hopping place in Geneva, and one I frequent with pleasure. You probably won't be disappointed dining here!

This is a great breakfast and lunch place. I love the location, and it's a great place to take the kids, or catch-up with old friends. They have a large selection and the gluten-free options make it a popular place to meet your gluten-free friends.

My wife and I can put together a pretty good breakfast at home, so getting a five star rating takes a little work when it comes to breakfast and restaurants. Egg Harbor Cafe in Geneva is tucked away in a nice little shopping area in town, which itself is a nice area of the western suburbs of Chicago. The restaurant itself has a home-style decor, nothing special but the service was excellent. Coffee is really good and left on the table so you can drink as much as you want w/o having to wait patiently for the cup to be refilled every five minutes. I ordered a skillet, I believe it was a San Antonio Skillet or some other southwest named dish. Its basically a spicy skillet filled with home potatoes, bacon bits, spicy sausage, eggs done however you like and cheese. The flavor is fantastic and all blend together really well for some reason. There is enough in the skillet to skip lunch and still only eat a light dinner too. There were a lot of different choices for breakfast, great for grown-ups with or without kids. I highly recommend finding the nearest one if you are staying in Chicago, there were plenty of them dotting the city and a real treat for anyone who likes a good breakfast that doesn't resemble Denny's or some other big chain.

This place has mmmmm-azing breakfast. I would only recommend coming here if you're the adventurous type, though, just because of the price. Otherwise, your money is better spent at the Manner or Mother's. The atmosphere is very "grandma's kitchen" (If grandma's kitchen were a warehouse full of chicken-themed objects). It's a fun place. I'd recommend the banana bread french toast. Or the Cinnamon roll french toast. Yumm.

Loved it! This will be our new family favorite for weekend breakfast. We are glad we gave it a try today. There was an extra long wait and we initially got intimidated. But weighed out the time spend driving to another breakfast place against hanging in there. Turns out they had two big parties scheduled and one was an hour late - hence all the overwhelming crowd. Once seated the menu was mouth watering - lots of options to choose among. Food tasted very good! And the decor was fab. Will definitely keep going back.

Did some searches on Yelp and found this place. It was a little hard to find but thanks to a sign that they put out in the walkway, we found it. I had the Santa Fe Skillet. Over all it was a really good meal. My wife had bacon, eggs, and their potatos. She said the potatos were a little dry. They had a number of other things on the menu that looked good to me. The service was really good. We had a nice friendly girl as our server and she was on top of things. I also noticed that either the owner or the manager was out front greeting and talking to guests and seating people. Clearly they get a lot of regulars there from the few conversations I overheard. I really liked that when they brought my iced tea they brought an extra little canter with tea in it for a couple of refills. And when we left, they asked if I wanted a tea to take with me to which I said yes. I would come back here no question about it.

I just want to warn you that they would rather have you standing outside for 1.5 hours in the cold and damp Illinois spring weather than to actually take and keep a reservation. Why structure your business in a sane manner when you're bursting at the seams with customers. The cattle call that is mother's day over at this place is an insult, made even worse by the fact that they won't take a reservation, just a 'call in', and when you call you are not told that the wait, once you arrive, will be 1 to 1.5 hours. Seriously bad management of the Mother's Day traffic.

Perfect all-american breakfast joint. They do the classics well (skillets, eggs benedict, Biscuits and gravy, etc...). Nothing super gourmet like Nosh, but overall a tasty staple (and better than breakfast diners). HEADS UP: decent wait times if you come in on a weekend (esp in summer), so be prepared to wait about 20-30 mins on weekends to be seated. Worth it though. Nice outdoor seating in summer.

Always good, always fun! You can't go wrong with Egg Harbor, especially the one in Geneva. I've been going to Egg Harbor for 15 years or so.....before Yelp, so I'm just getting around to my review. The location in Geneva is family owned, run by Gary. He is always there, greeting guests and having fun. I don't think there is 1 thing I can think of that has been bad here. My favorites are the Eggs Benedict, Cinnamon Swirl French Toast, and the Door County Melt. The coffee is really good too.

We stopped in for lunch here and had an pretty enjoyable meal. Décor: The look and feel of the interior has a quasi-house feel to it. A good amount of windows let in some solid natural light and the décor in general is just homey feeling. There are a lot of tables, which is good because this place is very popular around breakfast/brunch. But as crowded as it gets it doesn't feel like it's just mobbed due to the table spacing. Bathroom: pretty standard and very clean Staff: The greeter was very nice and our waitress mirrored that. Food: We were there for lunch but ended up with a mix. We had a "scrambler" (which was odd when I was asked how I'd like the eggs with it...) and was very tasty and a soup/salad combo. Everything was very tasty and the portions were very healthy-sized. Value: We walked out feeling full and not like we had been robbed because the prices are on par with any establishment of this nature. Egg Harbor is a good spot and one that I'd consider in the future if I am again in the area.

I went here with a girlfriend who is a late riser, and likes breakfast about the time I want lunch. I'm not that big on breakfast, and wasn't really thrilled to be going here. I have to admit- I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great selection for lunch, and loved my meal. It was a chicken salad, and delicious. The décor here is very cute- a lot of rooster knick-knacks. Our server was a young man, and very attentive and personable. The place was clean, bright and pleasant. I would definitely return again, to this one or another that they have elsewhere. We were at the Geneva one, but I noticed they have one in Lake Geneva when we were up there.

Egg Harbor is always good. Plenty of options, very fast service, decent prices, and large portions. But more than $2 for a cup of coffee is silly. If you take advantage and sit for a few cups it could be worth it (even though a cup at Starbucks is less and you get a free refill...), but if you only have one cup it's too pricey. Also, on the weekends it can get busy with a brunch rush. I believe they offer a call ahead waitlist and I'd try it next time I visit during those prime Saturday/Sunday brunch hours.

The food is great as well as the real friendly service. I love the cinnamon roll french toast and their special for that weekend, which was Lobster Crepes. I had their skillet dishes too... I've been coming here a few times and was always satisfied.

Going Corporate: been coming here for years today we enjoyed the new Protein Wrap for breakfast which was outstanding. Today we were told twice that "team members" were all helping out today. It seems of late Egg Harbor has been losing its individual personality everything from the tasteless "homemade jelly" to the very odd salt and pepper grinders that spit out far too coarse a grind. It's sad to see a great local breakfast and lunch spot migrate to an "Applebee's" persona.

We go here whenever we want great service, a charming environment and great. Absolutely wonderful pancakes, skillets, fresh squeezed juices, and great burgers! Always something fresh and new to try. It's the place to wow people with if they are from out of town. Cannot say enough about how consistently great the food and service are here. Egg Harbor.... Please open for dinner, too;)!

We were in town for the Barbed Wire Betties roller derby bout, and after such a great match, we woke up with a hunger in our bellies. A quick check on Yelp showed glowing reviews for Egg Harbor Cafe. This was some serious brunch, people. And I love brunch. First of all, it's a hidden gem (literally, we almost couldn't find it because it's tucked back in a square) that was busting at the seams with people when we arrived at about 9:30 on a Sunday. They know how to turn tables over, though. We called ahead and it took longer for us to drive over than it did for a table to be ready and claimed by some other people. We didn't wait long, though. They hustled us over so quickly, they were still setting up the table! Very efficient. The menu has so many options. I wanted to eat everything, as I do sometimes, but I settled on the half order of original eggs benedict and the Italian Fall french toast. THIS WAS A GREAT CHOICE. I ate as much as I could shove into my stomach and took the rest home. Prices here were very reasonable, the server was spot-on, and I've never been to a restaurant that was more accommodating to babies and children. I wish we lived closer so I could eat there again.

Best breakfast place around. Food is very fresh - portions are generous. Staff is attentive and welcoming - without being overbearing. I love everything about this place. I can modify any menu item without issue. Their fruit is very fresh and any fruit cup/bowl has apples, oranges, pineapple and a mixture of berries - all very fresh!! Ingredients for egg dishes are varied and there are plenty of cheese options - including blue and goat cheese. We are Sunday regulars here - and will be for years to come!

There is something for everyone here although the portions are enormous. My bacado omelette was the size of my forearm! My brother ordered the lemon poppyseed pancakes which were good for at least 3 people. Nonetheless, we should've shared but enjoyed trying a variety of things on their menu. Awesome service and homey ambiance-will definitely return next time I'm in town!

Food was good as usual. Service, kinda bummed about. Michelle (our server), seemed sweet. BUT, never bring someone their bill when they aren't even half way done eating. We didn't ask for it and felt offended. Maybe we needed a box? Or another drink? I could totally understand if there was a wait and she needed us to move along. However, there wasn't a wait and we were there for maybe a half hour. If you do that to every table, not only are you possibly putting a bad start to someones day, but you may be ruining your chances for a good tip. We still left 20%. Just bummed and don't think we'll be going back anytime soon.

This place is amaaazing, I'll try to keep the fan-girling to a minimum. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the service is always fantastically effective and friendly. And trust me, others know how good this place is. The wait may be long on some days, sadly no reservations, but it is entirely worth it! (They're located in a really cute little outdoor mall area, so you can wander a bit!) They're super effective at getting tables ready, often they bring you to your table as they're finishing up setting it. The coffee mugs are all uniquely glazed and adorable. The servers always make sure you have enough coffee as well, so that endeared them to me right away! Again, the food is scrumptious. I've only been here for breakfast; someday I have to try their lunch! They have tons of healthy options that don't skimp on taste! The food is obviously made with fresh and very good quality ingredients. They have traditional foods, but my favorites are the dishes that they've given a new taste to, or their original recipes! On that note, definitely try their Bacado Omelet, Farmer's Market Benedict, and everything in the Egg-cetera section! The breakfast potatoes are perfect, something I'll judge harshly, but they more than meet my standards!! Basically I could go on and on about how good their food is. Oh, and the cherry on top? They're cheaper than any other breakfast place I've been to. You'd probably have to order of the Denny's $2 section to beat their prices, especially considering the quality you'll get at EHC.

Is there anything special about this location of Egg Harbor? Not really. It probably has the largest outdoor patio of the locations I have visited, but what it does have is the consistency that makes Egg Harbor a favorite destination. We were seated immediately, I know there is often a wait, our server was attentive, food came out quickly, and, I am told, the new lobster salad on the summer menu is deeeeeeeeeeeeelicious. There are new items on the summer menu and certainly worthy of a taste. What I do like is that this location has an outdoor waiting area that is covered and positioned to provide a cross breeze. Apparently, on weekends, this is where they set up their host/hostess stand. Stop in for an enjoyable meal.

I went for lunch with my wife. My wife always hears great things about this place from other women. If you're a hungry man coming here for lunch you may still be hungry when you leave. The lunch menu has sandwiches and a few burgers on it. I was hoping to get a better than panera sized sandwich which would have satisfied my hunger. My sandwich came on Texas toast. I thought maybe that a place that has only sandwiches on their lunch menu would bake their own bread and the "Texas toast" was their version of the popular grocery store brand bread, but it was just the store bought bread. Everything was very good, I just wanted more of it. If you're charging panera prices then you should at least match their portions.

This weekend my friend came to visit from out of town. I wanted to take her somewhere local, and I had eaten at the Egg Harbor in Naperville previously, so I knew it would be great. We arrived around 9:30 and were seated within 10 minutes. Our server was quick, friendly, helpful, and engaging. We really appreciated her recommendations. My friend ordered the Farmer's Market Eggs Benedict with a side of cheese grits. She loved it! She makes hollandaise sauce on her own (very difficult, apparently - who knew?) and she loved theirs. I got the Cinnamon Roll French Toast with a side of scrambled eggs, bacon, and some strawberry lemonade to drink. Every bite was delicious!!! It was as if they had taken a cinnamon roll and just made it bigger and flatter. It was fluffy and easy to eat. Egg Harbor was a great choice. I will absolutely go back!

If you are looking for breakfast, brunch or lunch in a family setting....this is your spot. Their menu is extensive and everything on it is good. It is not super imaginative, but it is eggs every way. Their skillet, scrambles, oatmeal, omelets and pancakes are all what you would expect and prepared with a satisfying consistency. If the weather is nice, they place a number of tables on the lawn, simply lovely. Insider tip......you can order fruit instead of potatoes and their fresh salsa is delightful on every thing. Also, you can buy the coffee cups. The downside.....come early on the weekend or be prepared to wait. This is an extremely popular breakfast spot and gets very busy. They do provide you with Intellagensia coffee while you wait.

Went for lunch on Memorial Day weekend with my wife. Stopped in before a wine tasting down the street. We got to sit outside which was nice and we were seated fairly quickly despite a crowd. Lunch was delicious - would absolutely love to try breakfast here.

I have gotten gotten the Megsican although no longer on the menu. Chorizo sausage, and egg skillet served with tortilla. Food is good and so is service. I give three stars as the place is posted and no concealed carry is allowed. I prefer to go somewhere that respects my rights.

BEST SERVICE IN A LONG TIME!! Our server was Linda, and she was so kind and genuine. It makes an entire dining experience so much more enjoyable. I'm sure I've ate at an Egg Harbor before, but it doesn't stand out in my memory. Now it definitely will. I had the eggs benedict with corned beef hash, which was pretty good. They had a flavored coffee as a special so I also had that. Our server offered us to-go cups for our beverages which I thought was definitely going the extra mile. It was perfect because we were going to walk around and do some shopping.

Usually pretty good but today they got stressed out on Fathers Day. We called ahead but were told the call ahead process was not being used even though they took our name. Waited 1 hr 15 min for a table. Got frustrated and left. Today only a three start. Usually five.

$$ (Think same price range and classiness as Chili's) This place is a Geneva gem! The food is very good. It's very large inside and gets pretty noisy but it is very cozy. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and the mugs are adorable and you can buy them in the shop. The coffee is GREAT! Inteligentsia coffee. (sp?) Best breakfast in the Geneva area if you ask me.

Great service, had the San Antonio skillet recommended by another reviewer - wow it was really good - just the right amount of bacon mixed with Chorizo and spices with the potatoes!! This was $9.99, Great service too. Other guests had the cheeseburger which was huge and definitely NOT overcooked. Lose one star because the noise can get pretty bad as it was pretty crowded for lunch at noon on a Friday. No waiting though.

I love this place. My wife and I eat here regularly during the week and everything about this place makes it my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurant; service is exceptional, iced tea is great, and there are several delicious choices on the menu. Two of my favorites are the California Club and the Berry Oatmeal. I've eaten here several times and have never had a bad experience. On occasion, we'll even endure the longer weekend wait for a table. It's always worth the wait.

If you want good, non-overpriced breakfast, this is the place for you. The place is usually busy so I suggest calling ahead. The service is friendly and phenomenal. The skillet I had was the best I have ever had in my life. It was delicious and cooked just right. I highly recommend the skillets, and the cinnamon French toast. Nicely done Egg Harbor. I will definitely be returning!

1st time trying this based on others reviews, Im so glad we did! New favorite breakfast stop. Service was friendly and on point with all pop & coffee refills. The food was really good, hot and fresh. Omelette's to order, egg white scrambled with ham, pancakes were really good. The prices were reasonable.

Large menu and good service. I had one of the skillets which was very good. It came with banana bread waffle which was only ok-I would've fancied a regular waffle instead. Good prices and great coffee!

A great place for breakfast in downtown Geneva. Reasonable wait time, noise level was higher than I prefer. Very clean and friendly staff. Their juices are quite lovely. I've only had their breakfast items, but from the looks of lunch dishes they look quite appetizing as well.

Doesn't get much better than this for breakfast or lunch. Menu has lots of unique items along with traditional fare and healthy choices. The breakfast potatoes are diced and sautéed and a nice change from hash browns, coffee is served in pottery mugs and hot teas are brewed with loose leaf tea. At lunch they have a variety of salads and sandwiches that are a welcome change from a typical burger option and, my favorite, the Door County Chicken Salad is offered as either a salad or sandwich. Make it a perfect Sunday morning with breakfast and then a visit to the Geneva Farmers Market located across Third street and open May-Oct.

This restaurant was amazing we went back the next day! Our first experience, there was no wait. We sat down immediately inside and were greeted by a very friendly waiter. He explained drink options and the daily specials. My husband and I got the lemonade and strawberry lemonade, while our friends got regular and strawberry orange juice. We were all pleasantly surprised with freshness and taste. Three of us ordered the Down Home meal. I have to say, being from the south, I am VERY particular about my biscuits and gravy. These were some of the best I have ever had. The gravy was seasoned well and the biscuits were soft and buttery. The potatoes were average but the biscuits and gravy made up for that. Our second visit, we had about a 30 minute wait. We were sat outside on the beautiful, warm but breezy Sunday. This time, our group ventured out a bit. I ordered the chilaquiles, my husband ordered the egg salad melt, and our friends ordered pancakes and french toast. Since my husband and I boasted about how good the lemonade was the day before, we all ordered it. The waitress brought a pitcher of it so that was nice to have immediate refills. This second meal did not disappoint. Not only am I from the south, but am Hispanic and have very high standards for my Mexican food. These chilaquiles were delicious. The sauce was perfect and the avocado complimented the spice well. I wish the chips were a bit crispier, and I think since there are eggs on top, the chicken is actually not necessary. The taste didn't exactly go with the dish so if I ordered next time, I would ask for it without chicken. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. The service was good but I preferred our service from the day before. Overall, we will definitely return when we visit friends again! We love the location in relation to all the cute shops downtown. Thanks for two days of great food!

Consistently good traditional American brunch in the Chicagoland 'burbs. I've grazed my way through the menu over the years, and for breakfast/brunch it's above average. Nothing really stands out as a favorite, because whatever you order, it's like, yup, that's exactly what I ordered, yum. The last time I came in, I noticed they percolate coffee from local roaster Intelligentsia Coffee as their standard drip, and with all the pluses Egg Harbor Cafe has (good food, good service, spic and span dining area, on top of it kitchen) that's just icing on the cake.

I would give Egg Harbor extensive credit for understanding the color palette. In regards to breakfast, it makes no difference, you are served a presentation of food that relies on color contrast for your viewing pleasure. My argument here is...Egg Harbor is the "Master of Deception". Upon receiving your order, the visual is appealing, however the food is bland and tasteless. Second Point. I'm convinced Egg Harbor patrons consider this a "healthy choice" and a free pass to eat bacon, eggs, French toast & skillets. Why? You will not find a drop of grease anywhere! I think all food here was developed by NASA... freeze dried and air brushed for color! Yes, somewhere on the plate you'll find fresh fruit to add to the color palette and deception. Genius!!! $$$ Hey, the service here is good and they will serve you tasteless crap with a smile! "Enjoy"
