This place made a good impression on me when our family came here after a funeral. There were over 20 of us, and they gladly accommodated us, seating us together at 2 tables next to each other. There was a good variety on the menu, and the prices were very reasonable. Their service was very good as well. Hubby and I tried the gyro sandwiches and they were as good as any we've had. The ingredients were very fresh, and the tzatziki sauce very fresh and flavorful as well.

Country Junction's food was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. It looks kind of "meh" from the highway, but the inside is modern and well decorated. Its not the country decor that you would expect based on the name. This used to be a country kitchen back in the day, but it is way better than I remember it then.

We were in town for work and sampled several places around the Freeport area. Country Junction was nothing to write home about. It was dark and and dingy looking. The menu was sticky and had WAY to many selections. We finally decided to order the Lumberjack melt, although we had been told they had all day breakfast and that is what we really wanted. I ordered my melt medium while the other was ordered well done. Midway through the meal we discovered we were eating the wrong one. The french fries were gross. The oil was old and the fries had been cooked too long, leaving the fries to be discolored and taste rancid. The waitress was friendly, but unless you were a regular and she knew your name, she wasn't too concerned about you. We waited over 10 min for her to take our bill/credit card, and she had only one other table. The only thing worth mentioning was the soup, cheesy cauliflower. Had to add salt and pepper, but otherwise it was good. Not great, just good. Overall, not impressed! Would not recommend this to anyone, and sadly they no longer serve breakfast all day.

Pleased with the breakfast food here (which was being served all day at the time I was dining here), but when I came for lunch, and ate the lunch food, I was very disappointed. The food was unimpressive and bland. The service was quite good, considering that I was with a large group, but unfortunately, it didn't make up for the food. I think, given the choice of places to eat breakfast food in Freeport, this wouldn't top the list, but it's worth giving a shot. I'd rather support a local restaurant than get McDonald's breakfast, anyway.

Good food, good prices and good service. They mostly have American food. They serve breakfast (all day!), lunch and dinner. This is a good little place to get some grub.

I have been to Country Junction three times and each time I have been sadly underwhelmed. Their restaurant is clean and their waitstaff has been fairly good so I can't complain about them (hence the extra star or it would have been a oner for me) The breakfast was just bland. The pancakes had no flavor and were rubbery and got cold WAY too quickly. The bacon was meh and the hashbrowns were way too greasy and the ones I got were undercooked. The first dinner I had was a pasta plate that had three different types. The ravioli was okay but it was clearly premade and frozen. The spaghetti and mostaciolli were so overcooked they were mush. So gross. I realize this isn't an italian restaurant but serious, it was so nasty. When I complained, the waitress was apologetic but didn't offer a solution except that she could "exchange it for different pasta", My appetite was gone, so no. The second time I had fish and fries. The fish was cod and it was terrible. Cod is supposed to be white and flakey, not grey and rubbery. The fries...I don't know how to describe them but they were not good at all. They had this crumbly stuff all over it like they were fried in a vat that was filled with crumbs. I won't be giving them another chance.

My boyfriend and I popped in for some breakfast this morning, and we weren't disappointed. The name has kind of a "Hee Haw" vibe, but the restaurant itself is really just your typical, open-all-day family restaurant. If it were in the Chicago area, it would be owned by Greek people. You know the kind of place I'm talking about. The breakfast menu is a little more substantial than a few of the other places nearby, with several appetizing waffle and pancake options. There's even a kids' menu, featuring a "Ren and Stimpy Special" (you stay current, Country Junction!). Boyfriend had the "Granny Special," which is corned beef hash, eggs, and your choice of toast - pretty good. I got the Country Skillet, a mixture of hash browns, mushrooms, red and green bell peppers, onions, and sausage, topped with cheddar cheese and your choice of two eggs. It was very tasty, although there may have been too much cheese for me. (Too much cheese? I know.) It's basically two meals' worth of food, but I think it'll taste pretty good reheated. The service was fine and the price was right, so I'm sure we'll find ourselves back again for breakfast another day!
