My favorite Deep Dish Pizza by far! The waiting time is absolutely justified with what you get in the end: a perfect mix of cheese, pepperoni, tomato sauce held together by a crispy crust!

If I could give this review zero stars I would... My fiancée and I ordered a pizza for delivery at 8:50pm. The girl on the phone seemed new and asked my fiancée to repeat the full address 4 times, he politely obliged, spelling out our street name all four times. We finished ordering our pizza and were told it would be delivered in less than 45 minutes. After an hour we called to make sure that our order was in fact set for delivery and the same girl assured us the driver was on his way. Over the next 30 minutes we reconfirmed our address with the driver and another individual (not the girl who took our order, someone else) over the course of 3 separate phone calls. We even had to give directions to our home from the restaurant which involves a total of 3 turns. At almost 10:30 our pizza was delivered and was still warm ish but the cheese had hardened and the crust had gotten a bit stale tasting. The original receipt had an address on it that was NOT the address we spelled out several times for several people... No one really apologized for the confusion/frustration which was kind of surprising/disappointing. REALLY hope the new owners are still working out the kinks and deliver a better quality product in a more timely manner in the future although I'm not sure we'll order there again to find out...

I ordered a stuffed pizza with sausage and spinach. The pizza was undercooked and very doughy. There was very little sausage too. I wouldn't order it again.

Sorry Chicago folks your pizza does not match up with either the East or West Coasts. The crust, whether deep dish or thin, is a problem but toppings were awesome. Fabulous family style salads. Great place for groups.

They rely on their reputation for deep dish pizza. The service is horrible. The hostess seated us on the patio to help unclog the waiting area. Apparently, the waitresses were too busy to serve us, so our hostess had to be our waitress as well. I know that the restaurant was busy for New Student Week at NU, but they did not seem to care about service.

No Giordano's pizza ever again . Awful delivery service, awful customer relations. We ordered pizza online for a delivery at 6.30pm, then we got a voice mail at 5.30pm from the delivery person telling us there is no one at home for the pizza delivery. We called the restaurant and had to wait for 20min to be able to talk to the manager who was pretty rude. Instead of trying to understand us, she confirmed with the delivery person that our pizza was delivered at 5.45pm to our babysitter, 1 hour before the dinner time. When we complained about it, they had a great solution. They went to our place again to pick up the cold pizza at 6.30pm and promised for a later delivery with a hot pizza, who knows what time!

Possibly the worst pizza and service i've ever had. First one of our group got wrong beer and the waitress started arguing that it's the one that he ordered. Once we got our food, a vegetarian deep dish, it was cold from the middle. We noticed the waitress about this, and again we got very defensive answer instead of "sorry, i'll take it back to kitchen". We asked her to do it to get it heated properly. Once we got it back all the vegetables on the top were burned, but still it was mildly warm. We were hungry, so we took it as it was. Almost cold and not that tasty. We had heard that the place has been nominated as the best deep dish place in Chicago. You must be kidding me.

I will start this off by saying, I know essentially zero about pizza. Especially deep dish pizza, so...there it is. I thought Giordano's was pretty good. Our group shared a greek salad and calamari which I enjoyed a lot, mostly because they threw pickled peppers over EVERYTHING. Awesome. Ended up getting the Chicago Classic and it was really good as far as pizza goes. Cheese, bread, sauce...no complaints from me! Advice though: plan on only getting through one slice, two tops. It's a lot of bread!

We have visited this location several times now. My in-laws live nearby, and we look forward to this pizza every time we visit. The deep dish is simply fantastic! Honestly, I didn't see the fuss about Chicago style pizza (east coast style is more my thing) until I had this. It is truly delicious! My star count is on food quality and taste. Additional info - We dined in once - service was slow, and we have a young one. So this last trip we just ordered take out. Worked out much better for our schedule, and we were able to pick our own wine (selection in the dining room was a bit thin) - win-win for us.

So, this location is open again, but it seems they lost their best people. I have had delivery twice (once stuffed, once thin) since re-opening. The pizzas were a little worse than before the close in pretty much every way: soggy cardboard-like crust on the thin, wrong ingredients on the stuffed, balance of sauce/cheese/toppings wrong, both times somebody along the way tipped the toppings off the pizza, etc. I'll wait at least a year before ordering from them again... until they train the people taking orders / the cooks / the deliverers. They used to be great, now they are below average.

Good food but the service was horrible. Avoiding the redhead waitress!!! We ordered and it turns out later that she chose to put the order in to the kitchen 20 min. After she took it. She tried to make up with free wings that were not good. She insinuated that this made up for it. We told her that our time is worth more than the wings. As a former waiter I get that sometimes things happen but the flippant way she carried herself caused me to have a bad experience as well as never return to this location again.

After trying Pequod's, Giordano's was completely subpar. One plus is that this place opens late, so if you are looking for some late night munchies, this is the place to go. The pizza is large, and I can only eat about one slice. We (2 people) ordered the smallest size, and still had left overs. The pizza was decent, but it basically confirmed what I already knew - I'm not a deep dish lover. The crust was wayyy too thick, and hard, and there was nothing special about it. I'm a snob - I didn't eat the crust.

I am a Chicago native who has tried more pizza places than I can count. Giordano's is so incredibly touristy and over-rated. Let me start with the crust, which is doughy and thick. It is flavorless and overtakes the pizza. If you order or dine at Giordano's, you're only doing it for deep dish. In that you're getting an overly cheesy pizza with cold sauce on top. If you're looking for a beautifully crafted Chicago pizza, I'd recommend Lou Malnati's or Pequod's. If Giordano's is your choice, you'll be incredibly disappointed.

I recently held an event at Giordano's, and was thrilled by how smoothly it went! It was fantastic to work with Luis, the manager, and everything turned out exactly as I planned. I work at NU, so I deal with a lot of local restaurants and caterers. Truthfully, I haven't always loved working with this Giordano's for catered orders, as their delivery people don't seem to know their way around Northwestern, although I'm sure they receive a large number of orders from various departments throughout the year. I was a bit skeptical of hosting an event at the restaurant, but Luis was so flexible and nice when I spoke to him on the phone, I decided to go for it. We had 37 international students, plus adminstrative staff members and faculty for lunch on the first day of an orientation program. International students are always impressed by Chicago style pizza, since it's not well-known outside the US. I had a specific way I wanted the group split up, and Giordano's arranged the tables exactly as I asked with no complaining. I was able to pre-order stuffed pizzas and salads, and they came out exactly when I asked them to. We had our own dedicated server, who was very friendly and got everyone's drinks, offered refills, and boxed up the leftovers for us to take with us. The event was perfect! I'm not the biggest fan of stuffed pizza, but I do enjoy their thin crust immensely, and their lemon garlic vinaigrette is the best I've ever had- I could drink it! If you're considering holding an event here, I recommend it highly. You won't regret it!

This is a great Giordano's. There's plenty to walk to nearby. I love the thin crust, and obviously the deep dish is a winner. The new patisserie is across the street, and you can go across the street the other way to get a smoothie from Joy Yee's for dessert. Service is always good. I've never had a complaint here. They also have outdoor seating for the warmer weather. Street parking really isn't bad either.

Visiting Chicago, so I had to get deep dish. SO DELICIOUS! Really, any deep dish you get would be amazing. You could also get 1/2, 1/2 so that was nice. If you have 3 people, I would actually say the Small is enough. It would be 2 slices per person, but with so much crust and cheese, it's so filling. Their cheese bread is really good, as well. Just so so much cheese in 1 meal, but it's too good not to have it! Also, make sure you're not in a rush because it took about 30 minutes for our pizza to come out...Worth the wait!!!!

Discovered this pizza when I was in college nearby. Whenever I'm in the area I have to stop in, to the point that I drive to my yearly vacation so my son and I can stop.

Who cares for stories, let's cut to the chase: relatively empty night with 1/2 dozen tables = 45 minute pizza wait time? The Morton Grove location can do it in half an hour. Our average table size of five people essentially had to beg for things like drink refills, napkins, and the check even. She just did the bare minimum she could, really. We tend to order large pizzas over medium as we like our leftovers but we even had to ask for take home boxes. And as you can see they boxed it up really nicely for us.

Really great customer service! Excellent waitress. First I time I have been to this restaurant, I visited it on a trip to Chicago. Really impressed by the deep dish! It was perfect not undercooked or over cooked or dry it was really good!

The new location is definitely an upgrade. It's much cleaner and brighter and it appears they have a nice outdoor seating area. 'As an experienced Chicago pizza diner, we called our order in about a half hour before we planned on arriving. This is the one complaint that out-of-towners have about Chicago style pizza that drives me mad. Just about every pizza place tells you that the pizzas take a long time to cook. Yet I read review after review about how long the food took to come out. It's a 2-inch thick pizza that has to cook. Don't expect it out in 15 minutes. Either call ahead or order some salads/appetizers. The pizza itself wasn't as good as at the old place (I think the pizza cook was having an off night this time). The crust was pretty good, but there was a distinct lack of sauce on top. There wasn't enough to completely cover the cheese underneath. We had to ask for a cup of extra sauce. The waitress recommended that the next time we come to ask for extra sauce on the pizza for no charge.

Their pizza is the bomb.com . Period. But god forbid you order their wings. Horrid. Just horrid. Dry, felt like chewing leather dipped in sauce. Never again, Girodano's. I repeat, their pizza is great, their wings, crap on a plate. And pricey. Ew.

Good service, good deep dish. Lots of cheese - but you can order with reduced cheese. On one occasion the pizza seemed overly sweet, but that hasn't happened again.

First, this review's rating is based of my impression of the food, not the ambience, service or any other factors. I was introduced to Chicago deep dish by way of Pizzeria Uno's. By comparison, Giordano's was strange. The crust was a little too thick for a deep dish pizza. The toppings seemed to be layered at the very bottom, then buried in an inch of cheese and topped with tomato puree. It was like eating a backwards pizza. I really couldn't taste the toppings for all the cheese and the sauce was bland. At the end of the meal, I had only been able to eat 2 of the 6 pieces and could not bring myself to take any of it home. I prefer Uno's over Giordano's any day.

The deep dish was amazing. Thin crust was super good too. The meatballs were on point!!

  • Dan F.

The lunch special should definitely be passed on. The pizza was obviously reheated with pepperoni thrown on top after the fact and only some of the pieces were actually heated up. Cheese even seemed dry. Several pepperoni pieces were just like they came out of the pepperoni package. Overall I was very disappointed with lunch. I wonder if they would do better if they were making something more to order.

Very good deep dish pizza -- in my opinion, better than Lou Malnati's. I'm more into thin crust pizza when outside Chicago, but Giordano's deep dish is seriously well made and they deliver reasonably quickly. It's also decent value since a each slice is so huge. They lose one star mainly because their thin crust pizza is so poor. Just go to Domino's if you want thin crust rather than here. Also, if you eat in at the restaurant it takes 35 minutes for them to make your pizza. I understand baking times, but if they had some kind of rotation system they could make the plain cheese pizzas come out a bit faster at least.

I live in Berkeley, Ca, but am visiting my kids in Evanston. I grew up in Chicago in the 50's/60's, back when there really were lots of great restaurants on the south side. I'm finding a lot of the food in Evanston pretty awful, as you can see if you check my reviews, but this place is very decent. The crust is very nice, crunchy and fairly tasty, the cheese and tomato sauce is four star stuff, but the pepperoni slices are a bit too thin. This would add up to a four star review for the whole place if the other toppings were as good as this, but so far they really haven't been for me. The green peppers were almost tasteless for instance - and the onions unremarkable, too few and little taste. In general what I'm finding here in Chicago/Evanston is that people don't understand how much 'taste' there really should be in stuff like baked goods and vegetables. But this is good pizza for the price. The crust is reliably very good, and you might get a four star experience if you choose your toppings carefully based on personal preference.

Oh yum. Since I moved away from Chicago, one of the things I miss the most is deep dish Chicago-style pizza. Giordano's is one of my top places to go when in town, and this location was open nice and late, so I hit it up as soon as I'd checked into my hotel. Evanston is pretty quiet late-night in the summertime because Northwestern is on summer break, so there was no trouble getting seated and ordering. Pizza was just as I had hoped -- thick with cheese, tomato sauce, and a perfectly crisp and delicious crust. Normally, I'm no crust-eater, but this isn't the chewy crust of average pizza, this is the delectable buttery crust. It was a bit of a wait after ordering (25 minutes?), but anyone who knows quality Chicago pizza also knows that it takes some time to prepare if it's going to be any good. If you are collapse-on-the-ground starving, get an appetizer. I was glad I could show off what a real pizza should be like to my non-Chicago-native dining companion. (Poor guy was raised on St. Louis-style pizza -- which is basically ketchup on a cracker -- but I digress). TL;DR version: Pizza Good, Go Here to Eat.

Always a good look for lunch due to their lunch time specials. I really like having a personal pan pizza to go, because its conveniently down the street from where my office is. The staff is great and its really never busy to the point where I have to wait long to be serviced.

My date & I waited 8 minutes before I went to the host/hostess area where 5 employees were talking. I had to ask if someone was going to serve our table. We had a waitress originally from some Eastern Soviet Block country who was TERRIBLE: I had to go find her so we could get more water & another beer for my date. The pizza was a 6 on a 10 scale. I'm never going back there again.

Dilemma here - I like pizza, but can't handle the amount of cheese in deep dish. Solution: peel off most of the cheese and give it to the boyfriend, and enjoy the rest of the pizza (especially love the yummy doughy top layer). Why the hell do I get deep dish at all then? Usually convinced by the boyfriend/friends/etc. This is the reason why I don't frequent deep dish restaurants too much, but from the places I have tried, Giordano's is solid. Pizza isn't overly oily and comes out hot and fresh. Tip: Visit on Monday nights for 40% off!

One star for having the best deep dish in Chicago. One star for delivering to my parents' house in Wilmette during the NU bowl game on New Year's Day in spite of being outside their delivery area. I can't promise this would anyone else any good, but we appreciated it. One star for moving on up to the corner of Chicago and Davis, to a much better and brighter location. One star for offering 20% off coupons on the backs of NU basketball game tickets. One star for being the site of two sentimental occasions from my personal history with my Favorite. Again, that's neither here nor there for you. One star deduction for having a mostly user-friendly ordering system online, except that there's no way to use those ticket coupons (since they have no codes to enter). Fabulous, now I want pizza. Hope you're happy.

Love the Pizza but the service drives you away. We have lived in Evanston for many years-also worked retail here, but tonight had about the worst costumer service I can remember. I am usually understanding having waited tables, worked retail and am now a social worker. After an hour I called and asked to check on my order. I don't want to bore you with the details but she was rude and unprofessional. So sad that this business has this representative. It will be a while before I call again (Which the girl had replied "Great" so they obviously don't care). Pick other Evanston Pizza which is easily as good.

Great pizza, as always, but the service was pretty lame. My friend and I were there at 3 p.m. on a Sunday and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our server did not really give a damn, and she made us wait 45 minutes for the pizza. She came to our table rarely and it was so annoying that another server refilled our drinks and whispered that the other server was not good.

Oh how I love Giordano's! And this location is no exception! On the super chilly night that we walked in the place, we were so glad that they offer some pretty quality brand teas AND hot chocolate! We tried them all: chamomile, jasmine, earl grey, and they all sufficiently warmed us up! The workers here were attentive and friendly enough - no complaints there. And no description necessary for the food - their pizza is simply TO-DIE-FOR. Been loving it for years!! If you have yet to experience the utter deliciousness of Giordano's Stuffed Pizza, shame on you. ;)

  • Mike B.

Great pizza, I am not sure if this is my favorite pizza in the Chicago area, but it sure was good. They have the deepest dish I think, but the toppings are not as much as the others. There was tons of cheese, which I love, but not enough pepperoni. If you are in the area though, you have to give it a try.

Ok...So for the past few years, I have really been a lover of New York style thin crust pizza. That is until yesterday's Chicago style stuffed pizza at Giordano's. it was OMG delicious. I found myself nibbling on the most delicious crust I've ever had. I had two slices of what seemed to be very modest in size and I was so full I couldn't eat the rest of the day. I will eat here anytime I'm in Chicago. I'm sold. Oh, the service was good and it was a little pricey, but well worth it. I also had their house salad. It was good. Nothing special, but good.

Came with friends for the 40% off on Monday. I remember eating at this chain when I just moved to Chicago, and was blown away by deep dish. Since then I have tried other pizza chains and have come to appreciate the quality of the ingredients/etc... that comes with making a good deep dish pizza. With that being said, Giordano's has really fallen in the rankings of deep dish pizza in Chicago. Without the 40% discount, I wouldn't even think twice about eating at this place.

This is more of review of Giordano's in general rather than the Evanston space. Although I do have to say that this is more spacious than its previous location. Giordano's is my go to place for deep dish. I realize it is a chain, but it is one that has never disappointed me. Probably because it is layers of cheese, but who can argue with gooey melted cheese. Seriously, who doesn't get turned on by the strings of cheese that fall as you try and slide a slice onto your plate. I am still especially enamored by their crust. I have alternatives that aren't a chain, but of the chains in Chicago this is still by far my favorite. I don't go here for the atmosphere, I can be here or any of the other locations (within Chicago), all I want is is my deep dish slice of cheesy heaven.

I have a long history with the Evanston Giordano's, dating back to the mid/late 90s during my college days when we would frequently hit up their Monday night half-price deal. The pizza has been consistent all this time, but over the years I have found that I prefer many other Chicago-style pizzas. I was a transplant college kid--what did I know about good Chicago-style at the time? However, in 2010, when I started dating a girl who prefers Giordano's above all others...well, I started eating a lot more Giordano's. The girl in question even met my visiting out-of-state family for the first time at the old Giordano's on Davis. Fast forward fifteen months, and that girl and I decide to have our wedding rehearsal dinner at the new Giordano's at Davis and Chicago. Honestly, we probably would have gone elsewhere if they hadn't moved. The new location is far brighter and more energetic. The old one was downright dreary at times. The new restaurant is a place where you would actually want to spend time and enjoy yourself. Our original group reservation was for 25, but we ended up having 19. The reservation process was painless (just a phone call) and then I stopped in a couple days before the event to arrange details. I went over the setup with the manager, who accommodated my request for the semi-private side area with one long table. I also ordered the salads and pizzas in advance, setting a time for each round to come out of the kitchen. It was all very easy and flexible, letting me worry about nothing but having a good time at the dinner itself. During dinner, we had a single server dedicated to our table, so we got everything that we wanted almost instantly. It couldn't have been easier or smoother. I suppose that I will be eating a lot more Giordano's now, thanks to my wife, but my first experience in their new location left such a favorable impression that I will be happy to return.

Amazing deep dish pizza. I also love it because it reminds me of the late Joe C., the best person I've ever known, who used to work here before he single-handedly saved Lawndale.

This was my first time to Giordano's in Evanston since they moved out of their old location a few doors down. The new place is definitely an improvement and sports patio seating that we eagarly took advantage of. I came for 40% off pizza dine-in Monday's, which is the only negative change since my last visit when they offered half off Monday's. Like all great and noble deep dish places should, this Giordano's allows you to call and place your order beforehand so you don't have to wait an hour for your pizza to cook. We ordered a medium deep dish half spinach half green pepper. When thep pizza came out, it looked like there was a small wedge missing from the pie, which makes me suspicous that they have a bunch of pies premade and they just cut a spinch and green pepper in half and juxtaposed them together to make our pie. Regardless the pizza was typical delicious Giordano's deep dish. The green pepper half had more flavor from the green peppers infused in pizza than the spinach half had spinach flavor infused. Unfortunately, the pizza was not as tasty the next day. I will definitely be back here on a Monday.

    * Great thick crust, yum, get the goose island green line * if ordering more than one, ask to be served as they're finished If you've got an ID, get the goose island green line. even the servers will tell you nothing else on the menu compares to it. they ran out this time, and we got the 312 instead. the crust here is like a softer pie crust. thick and sweet. we got the mushroom and then a thin crust spinach. Both delicious. I did find myself adding seasoning on top, but i was told that it's not sacrilegious. make sure you eat both hot, as they're intended. Otherwise the big chunks of cheese on the thick crust don't do a good job of stretching. Also ask for the pizzas to be served as they're finished, that way you don't ever get a pizza that's not steaming and knock your socks off delicious.

In general, Giordano's isn't my favorite pizza chain, but this location is always reliable with producing good quality food with fast delivery times. I prefer the deep dish to the thin crust (their thin crust isn't very thin), and I appreciate that they usually have a coupon floating around that I can apply to my order. I did just try the s'mores dessert pizza, and it looked much cooler than it tasted-- it was way overpowered by too much cinnamon, but I won't judge a place on a dessert pizza. Overall, I can count on Giordano's to be a solid back-up to my favorite pizza chain (Giordano's delivers where as their other competitor in Evanston does not).

  • Ehow C.

I had a small sausage pizza there after their move to the corner of Chicago and Davis. I was expecting it to be better, but it was pretty much the same. Too much cheese, not a lot of meat, and a pretty dull crust. At least the new restaurant looks nice, so I'll give them a star for that. Otherwise, meh.

Rule #1: you can't be a real native of Chicago or visit Chicago without having deep dish pizza. Rule #2: don't go to Giordano's and not order deep dish. The stuffed spinach pizza is amazing! I'm salivating as I write this. It usually takes 35 minutes for the pizza to come out, but you can call ahead and have the kitchen start your order. A trend I have noticed at this particular Giordano's is that the service is slow. On this visit, the waitress was spacey, didn't even serve us the slices like the waiters usually do, and bottom line, she was unattentive. Luckily for them, the pizza is THAT phenomenal that I willingly overlook this flaw.

If you are looking for great pizza in Evanston, this is the place to go. Both the thin crust and deep dish pizzas are very good. This pizza always tastes freshly made and is not greasy (for pizza). The new location on Chicago Ave. is not overly pleasant or comfortable so I usually order for pick up or delivery.

  • Andrew S.

Decent, a word that perfectly sums up Giordanos. The pizza is decent, price and delivery speed the same. Its not open late and not as good as Jet's. Its one redeeming quality is that it is probably the best place to eat at if you are with the family and they demand to eat pizza not sitting in front of your tv.

Now, first off, I know this is a pizza place and I didn't have the pizza, so when/if I do, I may change my review. I ordered the Eggplant Parmision and a House Salad. I had them delivered. It arrived on time but the food wasn't that great. The noodles tasted stale. The eggplant was in small portions. The Salad's lettuce was very bland. Barely any taste to it.

Very disappointed tonight. I ordered stuffed spinach pizza with pepperoni for delivery. The crust is very soggy, not the crispy, buttery crust I was craving. Sadly, this soggy pizza is destined for the squirrels in the back alley.

Great Chicago deep-dish pizza. Comes in several varieties and most locations are relatively small and good for group or family gatherings. Every pizza is hot, fresh, and topped with a whole heap of great ingredients. Depending on the size of your group, you can get an inexpensive meal. I spent under $10 on my last trip.

The thin and deep dish are really good. The thin crust with pepperoni, garlic and extra sauce is so good.

Absolutely amazing stuffed pizza! Literally the best pizza I've had in my life. The service was amazing! Probably the friendliest waitress I've encountered in a while. Their garlic bread was pretty great as well. Definitely will be visiting this location again.

Visiting Evanston and dinner the first night had to be Giordano's! We got it to go to take back to our hotel. Other than a girl behind the desk who couldn't seem to find the order that was right in front of her, everything was great. They gave us plates and plastic wear to go since we were at a hotel. Will always be back!

They just moved to the corner of Chicago Ave from 500 Davis. Place is much larger and has an open kitchen where you can see all the Hispanics making the pizza. Called at 6:00 to have a pizza ready at 9:00 BUT IT WAS NOT. Had to wait for 15 minutes for it to be done. They are not ready for prime time yet. In the old place they had Monday night half off all pizza. You came in and waited 35 minutes and had a half price pizza. In the new place it is only the ALL CHEESE that is half off on Monday nights. Now other ingredients are charged at full price. Call before you go to make sure this is still the deal!! You can always find $ off coupons on the web for this place.

One of the best pizza places in the area. Although, I never seem to get a hot pizza. It's usually just warm.

As a faithful deep dish aficionado, I have surveyed most of the pizzerias in Chicago. I still prefer Giordano's. The classic cheese one is perfection. The smell of the buttery crust is euphoria-inducing. If I lived close to one, I would have developed a double muffin top and triple chin, for sure.

Great, awesome, amazing, FANTASTICALLY MAGICAL PIZZA!! I've been to a few pizza places (including other Giordano's) in Cook and Lake county, but this... THIS is as good as it gets. My favorite is the plain cheese stuffed pizza. So simple, yet so GOOD! Your mouth will thank you. I promise.

It's good, but just average compared to LOU MALNATI'S! You can also find much better thin crust down the street at GIGIO'S!

The Northwestern U. Giordano's (across from the Davis street fish market) has moved... Just a half block away, so you can still use your same "favorite parking spot" as before, and yes, parking is still a royal pain! This new spot, right on Chicago Ave, is a FAR better spot as far as "free advertisement" goes and WAY easier to find. The inside decor is no where near as good as i thought it was going to be, (the one out on Dempster St. in Skokie is better looking on the inside and has way more booths to sit in, great when you have kids, or want privacy. The pizza is pretty good, as is most pizza in Chicago, but not as good as it was during its heyday in the 80's and 90's... Did they slowly change recipes over time? Or, maybe all the old world, hairy Italian, pie-makers bought franchises with Papa John's and Domino's... I don't know, it just seems the crust is drier and the cheese is saltier than it once was. Then again, maybe they didn't change a thing... the "taste" problem could lay in the fact that I gave up smoking weed many years ago. Everything seemed to taste so much better with cotton-mouth.

Terrific Chicago style pizza! The deep dish is like no other, and the thin crust is amazing, too. They both come in several different varieties and you can build your own if you'd like. Great place for groups and families. The ingredients are fresh and every slice is loaded with em'! The deep dish is super SUPER thick and heavy.. almost like a cake pizza. Also, they take quite a bit of time to be prepared (40-45min), so stay away if you're in a hurry. Some of the reviews mention that it's a little bit pricy. I did not think so. But then again, I'm used to Boca prices where a pie ranges from 17-20 dollars.

This was my first time in Chicago and I was with a group of friends who wanted to try "real Chicago deep-dish pizza." Personally I didn't think there was any difference between having deep-dish pizza from Uno's back home in New York and having "genuine" deep-dish in Chicago, but I also had no objections. We were recommended to try Lou Malnati's but since the wait was too long, we settled for Giordano's. Coming here was a terrible decision. The only positive thing about the entire experience was that there was no wait on a Saturday night for a table of seven of us, but honestly, I would have rather waited that hour at Lou Malnati's or another pizza place if we weren't pressed for time. The busboy was carrying seven glasses of water to the table and ended up spilling literally all seven glasses onto my pants. A few of the glasses fell onto the table, and rolled off and shattered on the ground. I don't know whether he was just tired at 7 pm at night or whether he slipped (there was nothing slippery on the ground by our table otherwise I would have known) or whether he was just bad at his job. But there was little to no remorse after this accident from him, despite the fact that my pants were completely soaked in the front and the back. If the busboy had been slightly more apologetic or shown that he was going to try to make things right, I would not still be associating this restaurant with horrendous service a week later back in New York. However, he did not bring out any material for me to wipe my pants with, there was no dryer in the bathroom, and all I got was maybe half a sorry. He did a terrible job wiping up the table, my chair, and the floor, which was left with shards of glass here and there. Our waitress was not any better. After we ordered our two pizzas, she told us that it would take roughly 40-45 minutes for it to come out. Fine. It took nearly one hour and ten minutes before our food came, and during our wait, she kept smiling at us from afar like everything was okay. She didn't ask us what had happened about the water, she didn't apologize for it even though she must have seen it because the busboy took a year and a half to get everything cleaned up, and she didn't try to explain to us why our food was taking an obscenely long time to arrive. The food itself was okay. Nothing spectacular. Perhaps my experience here was already ruined by the terrible service, but considering everything that happened, the next time I come back to Chicago, I probably wouldn't even think about giving this place a second chance. As we were leaving, the busboy, gave me a half-hearted, "Sorry about the water. It happens, you know." I avoided eye contact, nodded and left as quickly as I could. If that was his idea of an apology and good customer service, then there is something very wrong with that picture. He was responsible for the fact that I was walking into the bitterly cold Chicago night with entirely wet pants, and in my opinion, did not even give the bare minimum to make amends. I'd also like to add the fact that he was not a young kid trying to make some money on the side while he was at school, or a really old person with shaky hands. Those aren't excuses for the accident either, but I think I might have been more sympathetic for what happened if he had been either of those two kinds of people. But he was a capable adult, so if this is your job, and part of all that you have to do is bring water to the table, then you better do it right.

First, I have to say that I LOVE Giordano's pizza. Their thin crust is my favorite pizza around. The Evanston location, however, could use some polishing up. First, I usually order out my pizza. The delivery time is almost an hour on the dot, and while the pizzas are usually hot when they get here, occasionally they're 1) Cold, and 2) taste like the chef didn't feel like making pizza that night. Normally, however, their takeout pizzas are delicious! Second, my boyfriend and I ate in the restaurant the other night. I immediately noticed that this particular location is less refined than the other ones I have been to (Willowbrook & Downers Grove). The most shocking part happened right as we walked in. While there were plenty of open tables, the hostess took a while to figure out where to seat us. She told us to wait, and then rather than coming back over to seat us, she yelled for us from across the restaurant! I've definitely never been hollered at by a restaurant employee before! After that, while some of the servers were attentive, most were standing around chatting and/or looking bored. I noticed several of the female servers were wearing thin-knit leggings - those aren't REAL pants!! All in all the pizza is great, the takeout is pretty good, but the in-house service could use some major polishing up.

Tacky decor, not amazing service, but great pizza. If you want Chicago deep dish, this is a place you should consider. (At least.) Not only are the pizzas substantial and the toppings more like richly spread out filling, but the crust! Some Chicagoans (and the suburbanites who say they are) don't like the thick, buttery crust, but...if you mention the crust at Giordano's to me, I might just start drooling. Just putting it out there. Mmmm.

My gosh, this pizza is incredible. My friends and I would get it delivered to the dorm and share it with the entire hallway, charging by the slice because we weren't THAT generous. I like plain stuffed cheese because I'm boring, but friends preferred it stuffed with onions, spinach, etc. Order it on Wednesdays after 9 pm and it's cheaper, or use your WildCard if you're an NU student to get a discount. So. Good.

Disclaimer: This poor kid doesn't live in Chicago, this poor kid lives in the LA area. Before this, my experience with deep dish pizza was from Uno's. Then I went to Giordano's, and I realized I didn't know what deep dish pizza was. At all. The 3 of us were like, what, the 12 inch feeds 3-4 people?! I don't believe it. So we ordered the 14 inch Special. Now I also understand why people are like, one slice is a meal! Oh my god. The food coma. I think I was falling asleep as I was attempting to eat my second slice. Sausage and green peppers and onions and mushrooms crammed into a one inch layer of cheese on top of a doughy crust with red sauce on top of the cheese. It's like a cake. Or a giant absurdly cheesy sandwich. Stuffed is right. Stuffed to burst. Less than $10, with two slices left over. It was magical.

Back in the 1970's, when Giordano's first appeared to challenge Chicago's other deep dish favs, it's pizza was unparalleled--thick, lush, oozing and gooey. We've been getting hooked on deep dish lately and decided to give the Giordano's in Evanston a try--what a disappointment! Despite the fact that we called and ordered before we left home, it was nearly 40 minutes after we were seated before our appetizer of "toasted" ravioli even arrived. What was the point of ordering ahead? Our waitress was pleasant but abrupt and disappeared for extended periods of time. The ravioli were limp, soggy, and pretty tasteless, served with what tasted like jarred marinara sauce. I lived in St. Louis for a few years, so I know how great fried ravioli can taste. Then our pizzas! My husband had spinach and I had sausage. The filling was scant, the cheese could not be described as oozing, and the tomato sauce was so sparse as to be painted on with a thin brush. And the sausage tasted like dog food--the texture was revolting. We each ate about one piece and took the rest home, where it promptly went into the garbage, as neither of us could face another bite. $47 worth of garbage. Huge disappointment! I understand Giordano's was bought by some company but it sure isn't the same as it used to be. Next time I crave a deep dish pizza fix, I'll stick with Viccino's--their pizza is 1000 times better and actually looks like the photo on the menu; not so with Giordano's.

The deep dish pizza here is delicious! I got spinach and sausage, and the crust was perfectly cooked, the sauce warm and the cheese gooey. This all added up to a delicious experience while I was visiting my brother at Northwestern. The place in Evanston is also a little nicer than Chicago mostly because there was a lot of space and we didn't have to wait for a table.

We had this on the 2nd night we were in Chi-town, I know this was an absolute MUST for visiting Chicago. We ordered the fried mushrooms and small deep dish supreme. We had it delivered to our hotel, quite quick. The BF fell in love with the deep dish! I think it easily became his favorite pizza. I'm glad we got to experience Chicago deep dish through Giodano's =)

I took my friend who was visiting from DC to Giordano's for his first experience of deep dish pizza. I've been here several times before and was always satisfied by the food and service. Lou Malnati's offers buttery crust on their pizza, which I'm not a fan off. Granted, I can ask for an unbuttered crust, but that's another 10 seconds of ordering that I will never get back. I can't say much about Giordano's except I feel bad for those suckers around America dining at Uno's and missing out out on the real deal ("real", perhaps?). Anyway, my friend LOVED the pizza here. When my sister visits, I'm totally going to fatten up her string-beany figure by making her eat deep dish. Giordano's a great place to take visiting family and friends for deep dish pizza. Just be forewarned: you WILL have leftovers. Leftovers are always appreciated by broke students.

Since Lou's doesn't deliver during lunch time M-Th, when I need a deep dish lunch fix during the week, this is where I go (I work in evanston). Anyhow, the pizza is just eh and is nothing special. I find the crust a bit flavorless and the sauce is just allright, but it always seems to hit the spot when i need some deep dish however I find myself waiting till Fridy and ordering Lou Malnati's.

i get hungry thinking about the 3 slices of deep dish that i had here. i'm guessing that it's a chicago thing, but the pizza is layered in sort of a reverse fashion - meat & toppings first, then cheese, then tomato sauce. pies take a little while to arrive since they are made fresh, but it's definitely worth it when they come. the crust is steamy, soft, and chewy on the inside, crunchy outside. slices and toppings are generous - but then, so are calories. i heard that there are better deep dish places in the city, and i'm excited to go back to the city to try more!

This was the second time I went here. Both times I called ahead (1hr) to place an order so that it would be ready when we come in. On this occasion things didn't go as planned. Food was late and pizza wasn't hot, service was inattentive (excuse was waiter is helping another waiter), and it didn't taste good at all. First experience with this place made me come back, but I will think twice before coming to this place for lunch again.

The best stuffed pizza. Have to get the sausage because really putting a little spinach on it does not make it healthier. This is my fave pizza. Lunch delivery is a little slow but as long as they get it to me, I'm good.

There are just too many other places that do it better. Pizza is okay, servers are sort of flakey. Ordered a glass of red wine - wasn't expecting much - this isn't fine dining - but the wine was hot. Not room temperature but hot like they were storing it in the oven. Not sure why they would even bring that to the table. Wasn't sure what to make of that, but haven't returned.

  • Ashley D.

Good lunch place. I like their mini deep dish. My only wish is that it came as pepperoni, but I will admit since I have moved to Chicago, sausage has to be included on all pizza. Why is the sausage so good in Chicago? Must be the Sausage King of Chicago. Word of advice - this place is HOT in the summer - carry out is recommended.

this is where i first had the ridiculous chicago pizza when i was a student so i'm partial to it. the pizza is excellent, better than carmen's. what else do you want? it's a pizzeria. the wait is a bit long 'cuz the pizza takes longer to cook, and it gets crowded sometimes

Love it! Used to be 50% off on Mondays but now just 30% off. Still... I always order a large stuffed pizza and then live on it (eating it for every meal) for the next day or so.

Delicious pizza, thin, thick or in between. Also busy, or catering for parties and a place my family would frequent when we lived in Evanston. Deep Dish Spinach is my favorite, but they have a wide range of choices and topping. Good for parties as well. I believe this is the place for Chicago Style Pizza, and I've been here my whole life.

Same as Giordano's everywhere else: crazy good deep dish pizza even if a bit greasy and over-priced. I always just carry out since the interior looks a bit drab and tacky.

  • Dee W.

Service was decent here - our waitress seemed a bit rushed and hurried but the food is always pretty good. THe deep dish is always delish and that's why Giordano's is one of the best deep dish pizza places in Chicago. I always get their special - sausage, mushrooms, green bell peppers and onions - mmm.. and to try and make myself sound 'healthy' - I get their antipasta salad. I'd definately come here though over any of the downtown locations where you have to wait at least 45 min - 1 hour to get seated. However, I do wish that they would offer more appetizers like the downtown location!

  • Ben W.

The thin crust pizza that I ordered was extremely bland and the service was rushed and terrible.

YUM! I love Giordanos! I am not a native Chicagoan, but I have grown to love the deep dish. Everytime I come here, it's the same waitress which is a little strange, but she is friendly enough, so no complaints about that. The lunch special has got to be the best deal in town- your own mini pizza (which is enough for two meals for me) plus a salad and a drink for about $7. At lunch the food comes quickly, but as with most deep-dish places, if you order a full-sized pie, expect to wait about an hour for it to come out. 4 stars not 5 because the ambiance is lacking something, but other than that, it's the bomb.

    (4)
  • Jaclyn C.

Again, I've tried to love the Giordano's and just can't. I know I'm not alone, and I think I feel comforted by that. It's not that it's Chicago-style...I love Pizzaria Uno. Maybe it's the crust. Mystery for the ages. half priced pizzas on mondays last time i heard...

  • Kat W.

The food is good, but that is expected of a major chain. They have some good weekday deals, so that's a plus for people in Evanston. However, the service is pretty bad and it sure takes long to get your pizza.

  • K. J.

I tried Tropic Delight "famous" stuffed crust pizza. It was ok and definitely very filling. I got a small and two pieces were more than enough for a meal. I got take-out so I couldn't really comment on the service. Since I ended up putting the left-overs in the fridge and not finishing it, I more than likely won't be going back to Giordano's again. Not great, but not bad.

I had not ordered from Giordanos in about a year because 4 out of 4 times I did the orders were wrong, food was forgot or I would have to call after 2 hours to find out where my food was to then have it delivered cold. That was at the 6836 n. sheridan rd. chicago,il 60626 location. I now live in Evanston, il and have placed two orders with the Giordanos at 500 Davis st. evanston,il to once again have things forgotten from both of my orders. This time they forgot chicken caesar salad, my side salad and I received no bread. I called them and after a little while they brought back the salads, never did get any bread. The funny thing is that people I have met up here have warned me not to order from Giordanos because they always mess the orders up. I contacted their HQ and they said they would send me a coupon for a free meal and they never did. Go there to eat do not order delivery

This Giordano's doesn't serve half the good stuff on the online menu. I'm so disappointed when I call asking for a certain shrimp or salad, and they don't have it. Expand, Giordano's in Evanston, expand! Your pizza is great but you could do more to be competitive with other pizzerias.

The BEST pizza, hands-down. One must get the Chicago-style deep dish ("stuffed") pizza, which has many topping options (although the toppings are actually put inside the pizza). After living in Chicago for over a decade and trying all of the major Chicago-style pizza places, Giordano's is by far the best. The Evanston location has a great deal, which is 50% off dine-in on Monday evenings. They also send out coupons every month via one of the coupon services, with good deals which can be used for lunch, carry out, or delivery. The staff has always been pretty good. I would highly recommend everyone give Giordano's a try, and particularly take advantage of the half off deal if possible.

extremely dissapointed with service. evelina was our server tonight and she screwed up our family dinner. i ordered hot coffee and she brought the coffee half full with no sugar and no creamer. i had to ask her boss for sugar & creamer. then our appetizers came although they were good but evelina never never came and asked how was everything so far. my coffee cup was close to empty of course she never came to refill although she passed by our table several times. i went to speak to the manager, he came back saying he will brew me a fresh coffee and he never offered to apologize or offer a free desert. our pizza came out although was good but again evelina after passing by our table more than 5 times paid no attention to refill our empty glass of pepsi. by the way, she never apologized for not refilling the coffee and pepsi- what kind of service is that?????????? the bill came up to $52, i gave her $2 tips- that was what she deserved, she was lucky to even get $2 from me- the manager sucked - stood there like a statue- extremely dissapointed customer

Went saturday night. The service was some of the best I've seen at any restaurant ever. I know it's a pizza place but the woman just came in did her job and that was that. No attitude, no fuss, no wait time, a smile, just what you'd want. There was a taller gentleman also busing tables and did a fine job. The beer is some of the best priced stuff you'll see. It comes in an ice cold mug and for $3 on a saturday night you can't beat it. The pizza is way way overpriced. $19 for a large thin sliced pizza with 2 toppings in the suburbs is absurd. The mozzarella sticks sauce was drippy and drooly and not fresh and I wasn''t blown away by the sticks. You can get better from the jewel. We had thin crust which is not their specialty and I was disappointed. the cheese was fine, but the tomatoe sauce and bread part of the pizza were regrettable. Bad thin crust brings to mind sandpaper and that was it. The service was excellent, the pricing of the beer was great, the deep dish is their specialty, but the thin crust both in taste and price was more or less a what not to do. Parking is also a challenge as it's on a corner so if you go in winter prepare to hike. They're not open real late too and AREN'T flexible.

OK let's be real. There are certain reasons why we put up with feet of snow, lake shore effect winds, corrupt politicians and did I mention feet of snow?... Giordano's deep dish is one of those reasons. You don't come here and order anything else (I guess beer is acceptable). They do it right and they take their time. Personally I enjoy fresh tomato, but spinach also pleases crowd. Don't expect amazing service. Don't look for an eclectic menu. You are here for deep dish. Don't waiver from the goal. Check it out on Mondays for half-price dine in...

    (4)
  • Isabel Y.

Heck yes. There are imitators, but this is for real. My favorite: pepperoni and black olives deep dish. 35 min for the pizza is about right. They used to have half off Mondays which was great for after classes, but now I think it's something lame like 35% off. Also good, calling ahead on Saturday mornings, walking over to pick up pizza, and stuffing our faces with Giordano's while watching TV for hours. This particular location is okay-- service is meh but it doesn't detract from the delicious round wheel you are about to parttake in. P.S. All Eli's desserts here are prepackaged. Go somewhere else for dessert. This is ONLY a pizza place. And I know it's kind of expensive, but deal with it. You are getting good stuff.

  • Jeff C.

First, Giordano's does not offer deep dish pizza. It offers stuffed. There is a difference. This is not the same pizza as Uno's or Lou Malnati's. Both are Chicago-style, but one is deep dish and one is stuffed. If you compare the two, you will inevitably be disappointed with one. That said, Giordano's is the quintessential example of Chicago-style stuffed pizza. Other restaurants are as good, or maybe even slightly better, but Giordano's is consistent, delicious, and available throughout Chicago. If you have lactose intolerance, beware. Their stuffed pizza consists of a semi-thick, crispy bottom crust, an extra-thick, gooey, delicious layer of cheese, a second, thin and soft crust separating the cheese from the sauce and, finally, a nice, semi-thick layer of sauce. If you get a topping (I recommend spinach or garlic), it is typically placed between the bottom crust and the cheese, though some toppings are put on top of the sauce. Like all Chicago-style pizzas, it takes a while to cook. Expect to wait 30-45 minutes for your stuffed pizza to be prepared. Or phone ahead. Giordano's does offer other items on their menu, but after numerous visits to Giordano's locations across Chicago, I don't believe I've ever had anything other than their stuffed pizza. It's just that good. If you work in Evanston, their lunch special is worth checking out. It's one of the cheaper lunch specials in Evanston, and you can get a soup or salad, a baby stuffed pizza and a drink (with free refills). Both the soup and the pizza are good, and you'll leave stuffed. They prepare the baby stuffed pizzas in advance, so instead of a 30+ minute wait, it only takes 5 minutes. They only prepare a limited number of pizzas, though, so if your timing is bad, you'll have to wait.

  • Alejandra S.

Part of the Chicago experience, Giordano's is a must! I've been to the one on rush st. and the one in evanston and both have been great. The food and service are ok. Tip to newcomers, order less than you think you need, dip dish pizzas are heavy and super thick. It's like a cake and also be prepared to wait because it takes a little over half an hour to make the pizzas but it's worth it.

    (4)
  • Whitney D.

Our waiter (Daniel?) was pleasant and attentive. The pizza was delicious and our appetizers didn't long to come out. Eating at Giordano's is always a pleasant experience for me. They don't have much by the way of desserts but hopefully the $3-5 glasses of wine will make up for that.

Had the bruschetta and some Merlot. my sons had pepperoni and spinach pizza and a chicken sandwich with soup. The bruschetta had very little cheese and the bread was a little too thick . I did like the balsamic vinaigrette drizzle. the pizza's crust was too thick but the sauce, cheese and spinach were good. we asked for no mayo on the sandwich, guess what? I don't like Merlot but the wine list is very small, three choices to be exact.

Their deep dish pizza might be good, but they don't know what real thin crust pizza is. New location is nicer, but not cozy (not that the older location was cozy as well). Decent waiting time, yet customer service had a lot to improve upon. Disappointing.

I feel torn about giving Giordano's only three stars instead of four - really, it's way better than three stars might make it look, and since it was the first place in Chicagoland that I ever experienced deep dish pizza, I know that had I Yelped it right then and there it would be at least four stars, because on that night, after traveling all day to Chicago, arriving relatively late, CST, any pizza would be great, and that real, live Chicago deep dish was pretty God-dang great. But...I've been sampling deep dish and every place I've gone to since (Yelps to come later) have been even better! One star off because the atmosphere is pretty suburban bland, maybe another star off because even though there were only a couple people in the restaurant, the wait staff clearly did not want to be there on this cold, cold night where tips were likely to be scarce, which blunted the warm cheesy, tomatoe-y goodness of the pepperoni deep dish and the decent Caesar salad. Mmm. Look at that picture of that deep dish pizza. I'm starting to change my mind. How about 3.5 stars?

I've only lived in this area for about six months and Giordano's was my first Chicago Pizza experience. They didn't disappoint. I was absolutely blown away by the Spinach Stuffed Pizza. It was to die for! It was also good the next day for breakfast. They have half-priced Mondays which make it even better. I would highly recommend this place!

This place was the place to be Monday nights in college! At first I was skeptical of the pizza. Gino's East was always my favorite growing up, but the flaky buttery crust is amazing here. I've always had quick friendly service at this location. You can't go wrong with either dining in or carry out.

Went to their new location on a busy Saturday night after a Northwestern football game and they had it together. Only had to wait 15 minutes for a table and ordered our deep dish right away at the counter. Waitress was efficient and the pizza was great. The old location was so boring that we never ate there...the new location rivals any of the other deep dish resturants in Evanston!

I really love their thin crust, but it's so damned expensive. $18.20 for the base cheese pizza? (For XL) That's absurdity. Toppings are $2.75 each!? (Again, for XL). Utter crap. The most annoying thing is that there's no price break for specialty combinations...meaning that if I order a veggie pizza (which has onion, bell pepper, and mushroom), they don't have a special price...they just charge you the same as for a cheese pizza with 3 a la carte toppings. Yes, that is correct, an extra $8.25 for veggies. A total of $26.45 for a damned veggie pizza. Are you KIDDING me? Also, they have two "premium" toppings, which are DOUBLE price. The two "premium" toppings are a) shrimp (okay, makes sense), and b) SPINACH!? In what world is spinach a premium topping? You are seriously going to charge me $5.50 to put spinach on a pizza!? (When I could get pepperoni or sausage for half as much.) I can buy a cartload of spinach for like a dollar, and that's retail. Can I just bring my own and you could just put it on there? Jesus. It's soooooo good, but I only eat Giordano's when my office is paying for it, because damn.

Love this place. Especially love going for the Monday night 50% off stuffed cheese pizzas. Wish they had a more diversified beer selection, but the pitcher prices are impressive for such a fantastic establishment. The wait for a stuffed pizza hovers around 35 minutes, but you have to expect that going to a Chicago style pizza place. Great service to boot!

I haven't been to the restaurant in many years, but we got take-out stuffed pizza from Giordano's recently, and it was just as delicious as I remember. If you like Uno's, which has franchises around the country, and whose taste has suffered as a result, give Giordano's a try. It's much less greasy and the crust is perfect. An appropriate analogy would be that Uno' is to Starbucks what Giordano's is to Peet's. If you are ordering two (and you should, remembering that pizza for breakfast is food of the gods!!), get one Special (sausage, mushrooms, onions, green pepper), and one Spinach. Mmmmmm, Giordano's. Tastes like home.

Last Monday evening my wife and I decided to check out the new Giordano location in Evanston. Big mistake. We ordered a salad and a small thin-crust sausage pizza at 7pm. At 8:20pm we received a small deep-dish sausage pizza. We noticed as the evening worn on that there were 5 people huddled around the counter at all times, seemingly discussing the weather. Our server, who was very good, was covering 10 tables by himself. Oh yes, there may have been 1 piece of sauasge per slice in the pizza. Obviously, Giordano's is not ready to handle their new facility.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
