My husband and I got our wedding cake here as part of the package from our venue. We couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. We had a great tasting with three different varieties, and Jennifer even accommodated my group of six interested cake-tasting sweet-tooth family members that day. Our wedding cake was ultimately delicious and exactly what we wanted. There was a bit left over and yes, I did eat it on the flight to our honeymoon. Best way to contact is to call the number here and ask for Jennifer, as I think their website etc is under development. I hope they are successful because their cakes are delicious. Also, right now their kitchens and tastings are in a warehouse-district area. Perfectly functional - and smells delicious inside, but good to know beforehand.

A great lunch for a bargain price. This little eatery is easily overlooked. It's a non-descript operation located in a small strip plaza at the end of a street and not easily seen. The sandwiches are huge and come stuffed with lunch meat as thick as your fists. Your standard choice of breads along with extras like tomato and lettuce, mustard etc.. As for the soups, I'm used to describing beer as having a thick head but the same could be said about their soups. They are so intensive you literally could float a bottle cap on top. You can pick up 1/2 a sandwich and soup for less than $6. In this economy that's a bargain! Believe me when I say you will NOT walk away hungry. There is a not a lot of space to sit so if you plan on eating in there, I recommend you get there early. Ordering a lunch to go requires only a short wait. I highly recommend this location.
totally not what i was expecting! soo good im definitely coming back again! very fresh and clean, delicious home made soups, love the small mom and pop shop atmosphere! I got the turkey sandwich and the chicken noodle soup all very good! one thing! I CANT believe i was going to jimmy jons! i should have known about this earlier!
Go for the best New England style clam chowder, bar none! Excellent sandwiches and reasonable prices. The only down side, long lines waiting for incredible food. Try this place and you wont be disappointed.

Bubby’s Beefs and Red Hots

5stars for service. In Chicagoland most beefs are just beefs. I still think Portillos Buona and Mr Beef have the best beefs in Chicagoland with Portillos ahead of them all. I just tried the Bubby special. It is meatballs italian beef red sauce mozz and I got it with sweet peppers dipped juicy. The flavor was damn good. I couldnt pinpoint a flavor whether it was the meatballs beef or sauce but ot was damn good. The fries are absolutely awesome. It was a very heavy meal. I would really loce to try the meatball sandwich and the italian beef because combined they were awesome. Now I need to review them seperate because I can never find a good meatball sandwhich. I have a feeling id really enjoy Bubbys. Overall a good experience. The best thing about the place is the owner is there everyday and hasnt missed a day in 12 years. They are closed Sat and Sund. The owners presence and ability to provide customer care immediately when you walk up to the counter is rare and awesome. I will absolutely return to review more of the menu. Great sandwich.
This place is awesome! My lunch crew is always going to Rammy's next door but I did not feel like a sub so I dipped in here. The sign on the window which proclaimed $2.99 for a hot dog and fries drew me in. I love me some hot dogs! The guy working was super friendly and seemed to get along quite well with the regulars. He was more then accommodating for my weird request of mayo for my fries. The hot dog was solid, the fries were amazzzzzzing! I wish there was a tad less salt but everything about them was awesome! And the price can't be beat. I'll definitely be dipping in again to try more items on their menu soon!
FANTASTIC FOOD, SERVICE, AND ENVIRONMENT. This place (owner and worker wise) is very friendly. The food never disappoints. Great chicken fingers & FANTASTIC homemade fries! Great treat, 6 stars out of 5!

This is the only place I get my birthday cakes from. I always have vanilla cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. They decorate the cake adorably. Only downside is that the entire store takes vacation for a week or two during the summer, usually during the day that it's my birthday, so I have to plan around.
Outstanding bakery - outstanding service and everything sweet and yum. Traditional German stuff with personal touch. Will be back ... Often!
By far the best bakery in the northwest suburbs. Their cream puffs are huge, with fresh whip cream filling. Their cookies are decadent. And if you're in need of a mind blowing cake for any event, order it from Jarosch. Your guests will thank you!

Nothing but awesome. Staff is excellent. Foods terrific. I always get the bbq beef. My husband gets radical or 2 by 4 with all the fixins. Portions put subway, potbellys, quiznos and yes, even portillos to shame. The desserts are good too. Did u know the chips they sell there have vitamin c in them?! Where else can u find chips with vitamins?! If u havent tried rammys yet, u need to. Same great service whether it's lunch rush or 10 mins to closing time. Other subs seriously do not begin to compare. Tell Adam the Redwings are a bunch of girls :) Go Hawks!
So when this place was at Northern Illinois University, I frequented this place often. Then they closed it. I found this place when I moved to Schaumburg which is near Elk Grove. I was shocked and finally came in. I spoke with someone at the Elk Grove store and he told me the Dekalb location, where NIU is located, had trouble during the summer when everyone went home so that is why they shut it down. I am not surprised because college towns will get hit hard during the summer. Im glad this location is still opened. It's theme is catered to the local light industry location surrounding it. But it's not what you expect. It's like retro industrial style shop and very clean. The ceiling fan is huge! Lol. The food is awesome. Oven baked break and lots and lots of choices. I spent around 10.00 for my sub, chips, and drink. Not bad. Homemade lemonade, some sort of red juice which is sort of like lemonade, and homemade tea along with your normal fountain drinks. Plus bottles of drinks. Also tons of chips! They carry several brands...more choices then the sub shops I have been too. I love sub sandwich places and I frequent them normally. This is by far the best I have been too. FYI they close at 4 pm Mon thru Fri. Sat they close at 3. I guess they cater towards the businesses around the shop which is heavy in light industry. A MUST GO!
One of the few places in the suburbs that I can count on for special food, and a special dining experience. Not bad for a fast-casual sub sandwich shop! It's a little easy to drive past the first time you try to find it (and what happened to the trees in this part of town, anyway?). But once you find the right strip mall and head inside, you're welcomed with a lot of choices, and sandwich makers with opinions if you ask for them. I got the Rammy's Radical Italian Beef. I was advised that this should be taken with white bread (which has a clear crease) and with pesto, onions, tomato and a little bit of chipotle sauce. Because they are the experts, I took them up on this idea. The beef was really excellent. Moist, beefy, held together well, and so much of it in the sandwich. Cheese was melty, and the pesto-chipotle sauce idea is top notch. I took it with baked chips and a peach-flavored Arnold Palmer, and that's when I decided that Rammy's is far better than any other sandwich place I've tried in the greater Chicagoland region. Friendly service with a smile is also emphasized, which made everything right. Rammy's might be tucked away in an inconvenient place, but it's 100% worth the drive.

Cheese & sauce are good but crust didn't taste that great. Wife liked pizza, husband didn't.
My husband and I had Taylor Street cater our wedding in September and they did a fabulous job! Colleen was AMAZING! She worked with all of my needs the entire way. She helped to keep everything as cost effecient as we could and she personally came to make sure everything was perfect for our big day! The food was amazing! Many of our guests took the leftovers home! I couldnt have asked for a better experience. We HIGHLY recommend them for any of your catering needs!
I've been going to Tre Amici for several years now, at least once a week. We especially like to go there for the Monday Cheesy Beef slice of pizza. The slice is there double dough crust and is loaded with Italian beef and giardiniera, real tasty! A second huge factor that we love coming back is the staff. The owners, husband and wife team are great. At least one of them is always there taking pride in their business and always greeting you with a smile. They seem to treat there staff well because the same employees have been with them forever, always friendly and making you feel welcome. If you and your family, group of friends/co-workers or just yourself is looking for a quick hot meal, this is the place to go. They have a lot to choose from including sandwiches, salads, daily specials and yes of course pizza. I've been there even on weekends with my little ones, they have really nice kids meals. Highly recommend you adventure to this place on your next lunch hunt around Elk Grove Village!

Great American Bagel

I used to go here all the time when I worked nearby a few years ago. When I left that job, I missed getting my daily bagel. I have now moved into the area, so I can get my bagels any time now! I have visited a bunch of times in the past few months, and my experiences there have always been awesome! I usually get the same thing every time (turkey club on sourdough, toasted, with provolone. no mustard, no onions.) and they have never gotten my order wrong. They even have the "Belly" loyalty program, which means you can earn free stuff just for coming in! It's awesome!! Next time I go in, I should have enough points to get a half dozen bagels for free!!
Well I gave them another chance cuz ya know I like bagels. Again. Toaster off... Won't return... Won't recommend...
Can i just say that this place is amazing, first off when you walk in it just smells soooooo good and they have over like 29 different flavors of bagels and their bagel paninis i have had every single one of them. Also the sandwiches are amazing. And don't even get me started on the cream cheeses... They are to die for my favorite is the chocolate chip it tastes AMAZING All in all i would recommend this to anyone and the only bad thing is the staff they dont seem very friendly and they look like they hate what they are doing.

Kurumaya Japanese Kitchen

1201 E Higgins Rd
Elk Grove Village, 60007
Reviews:
Pretty disappointed to say the least. Ordered the sushi appetizer and the mackerel had a huge black hair on the rice. Ordered the grilled chicken wings with sesame seeds, they came out fried, seasoned with salt and pepper. Also, ordered the pot stickers and they were burnt. I think the kitchen was trying to leave so they fried everything. The server was very very nice, the chicken teriyaki kabob was great as well as the miso mackerel. Front of the house were all Asians, the cooks were all Mexicans. Will not be back.
After coming here four times to take my grandfather out for lunch, I finally feel like I have the basis for an accurate review. This place is awesome. Make no mistake about it, the food, service, environment are all exactly what I"m looking for when I'm craving a traditional Japanese meal. Decor: Modest, simple. The table cloths could be mistaken for an Italian joint, minus the fact that it's all darkwood and there's a sushi bar where people are enjoying the phenomenal food. And the loads of Japanese folks eating here for lunch definitely says something. Service: Service is fast (as they need to be, considering how many people are typically here for lunch) but friendly at the same time. There's no small talk here, and if you call in advance, they set aside your table while preparing your house salad and two cucumber rolls on the table before you arrive. Impeccably on point and always aware of our needs (refills on tea/water, helping find the best place for the baby, etc.), it's a very efficient, friendly environment. Food: And here we go... if you're coming here to order rolls covered in sauce... go away. What they have here are high quality home style dishes of Japan, along with some amazing quality fish to be enjoyed in nigiri fashion. Some key stand out dishes that I've enjoyed thus far are: Curry Tonkatsu - Practically guaranteed to fill you up. Chirashi - High quality fish, perfectly made sushi rice, and a good mix of varieties.. (I don't think I've been in many places in the US that give you Ama-ebi as part of the chirashi!) Various nigiri sushi - Really, all the sushi is quite good. And definitely worth you time chowing down on. In fact, I wouldn't mind coming back at some point and just sitting at the counter for a nice omasake (though I don't know if the chef's do that here). Verdict: Make it a point to come here for true Japanese food. Nothing wrong with pretty colored fusion rolls with interesting sauces/ingredients, but this isn't the place for it. This is for perfectly made homestyle Japanese cuisine.
The restaurant was not busy on the weekday night I came for dinner. It's a medium sized place with casual décor. Overall, the food and service was good. In addition to the regular menu, there was a small photo album menu that's filled with hand drawn pages. Saba Shioyaki / Mackerel filet grilled with salt $14 - This dish was good and came with miso soup, salad and rice. I'm a fan of salted mackerel and the fish was cooked well. However, I feel like I could make this at home since there wasn't anything special about the fish. Pink Panther Roll / Salmon, tomato, cucumber, masago $14 - Pricey for the amount of food. The roll was ok, nothing memorable. Salmon Nigiri $3/piece Large Asahi $7
