Big fan of the deep dish. Little pricey, but the fact that you can get all of the toppings you want makes up for it. The bread sticks with the cheese/marinara dipping sauce is great too. Like the atmosphere of the new place and all of the TVs. Only negative I have experienced is when I had pizza delivered it was cold and the sauce slid off on one side. So, I have carried out ever since which is a little inconvenient at times, but the result is worth it.

Never been there but order it a lot. Love the chicken parm sandwich. Pizza is good. Kids didn't like it but me and the ol lady did.

This is my favorite pizza place in town! I LOVE this pizza! Great new location, much larger dining area, and tons of TVs for watching the Cardinal's games. I've always had excellent service and the menu has a wide variety of Italian favorites! Highly recommend.

Way above average pizza. Ingredients were fresh and sauce was especially good. Beer was a little pricey.

Just got home from the worst service we've ever experienced at Joe's. We've grown accustom to their slower service but tonight it took over 45 minutes to get our food, even when larger groups (we only had 2 in our party) that came in after us got there food before us! I hope their management takes their service reputation into consideration and comes up with a solution. Fortunately, the food is great, but I'm not sure it's worth waiting that long for salad (chopped lettuce with 2 olives) and spaghetti.

Why bother putting deep dish on your menu unless you intend on making a proper one? The pizza we got had the crust of a deep dish, but not nearly enough filling to reach the top. That is the point of a deep dish! I want to eat one piece and be full! I want leftovers for the week! Joe's, your pizza is not a deep dish. The sprinkling of oregano on top is not presentation. The next time I order pizza, it will not be from your establishment. If you want good deep dish, go to Black Thorn in St. Louis.

What happened? I just experienced my 3rd dine in experience at this restaurant. The first 2 times we visited, the service was acceptable, the food tasty, and the bread sticks pretty good. We went in to eat on Monday, and ordered some of the same selections we had enjoyed previously. I don't know if our waitress was new? Other diners who arrived after we did got served before well before we did. When the food finally did come, it was cold. The bread sticks were terrible-previous times were quite good. These were bad enough, my boyfriend did not eat his, and he loves all kinds of bread. We were not offered drink refills, and were presented with the check well before we had completed our meal. May give this place one more try, since the other times were fine-or maybe not. Cannot recommend, on any level.

I was very disappointed with our service last week. Usually, it is very good, but this girl must have been new. My husband and I each ordered the spaghetti dinner. It was brought to us " family style" with 2plates and some little plastic tongs. When I asked her about that, she mumbled something about 'that's how it's served for the Wednesday special'...pointing to a chalk board that was in a corner and I couldn't read. I asked her to bring a serving spoon, and she just brought a small spoon. Oddly, when she brought the platter of spaghetti, she asked if we wanted separate plates, so she had to go back and getting those. She has no way of knowing if we were married, co-workers, or what, so why assume we would be happy eating off the same platter? I think better training is in order.

Got delivery after a long and busy day in St. Louis. My husband and I really enjoyed The Greek and the kiddos liked their favorite pepperoni. Would definitely get this pizza again.

I used to regularly order their pizza for take out, as I have always liked their flavor. A few months back, I ordered a pizza with light cheese and extra sauce. They charged me extra for the additional sauce but didn't discount my bill at all for the light cheese, which was a cost savings to them. There are other pizza places in the area that have good flavor and don't do a double standard type of business with their customers. I just about never call them, anymore.

Ordered carry out in a Saturday night. Pizza and salad were good but they forgot one of our pizzas. We had to go back and pick it up but they did comp it for us. I think it's pretty good pizza.

I'm gluten-free and recently visited the area with family. On our first night, I checked Yelp for places with GF pizza. I called here and they said that they had it so away we went! The GF pizza crust is a 10" -- i'm sure it is pre-made and purchased. It was very good though. My parents liked their pizza as well. The ambiance is pretty standard "pizza parlour." Tables, chairs, and such were dirty but it's clearly a busy place. It was good --- not the best i've ever had, but a good place to go for quick, easy, and kid friendly.

Even as a St. Louisan, I'll admit, Chicago does the best pizza. Joe's is one of the closest experiences to the real Chicago style I've seen in the area. Even if it doesn't quite live up to the quality of the more famous places up there, they make a solid effort. I'd say if you want a Chicago style pizza experience in the Edwardsville area this is a decent place to check out. If the mood ever struck, I could see myself going back.

I usually have high hopes for Joe's, however I had not so great experience tonight. The waitress seemed like she was preoccupied. I ordered a pizza sub. When she brought my sandwich, it was barely warm, and the mushrooms was put on the sandwich the sandwich was "cooked". I hadn't eaten half of my sandwich and the waitress was already asking for me to pay the bill. She wanted me to pay my bill so she could leave for the night. I know the owners of the Joe's in Olney and Effingham. This Joe's in Edwardsville is a spin-off of what I consider the 'original Joe's' in Olney. The Trupiano family would be appalled with this type of customer service, and how their product is being served to customers. The only good thing about the meal was the breadsticks and the company I had joining me for dinner. I truly hope the manager(s) of the Joe's in Edwardsville take a proactive approach in ensuring other customers do not have the same experience in the future.

My first choice in value-priced takeout pizza: *Gluten-free crust available (10" for $2 extra), which makes pizza night much easier for a group including someone who needs a gluten-free option. My Gluten-free Girl thought the crust might be from Udi's; we don't really know, but it tasted good, even for a wheat-eater like me. *Good topping options, including fresh tomatoes, chicken, anchovies, even shrimp. *The large salads contain enough for two or more people; we really like the antipasta and the Greek. *Service is friendly and fast, and orders are packaged neatly. I notice there's an online ordering option, though I haven't tried it. *College Dads like me can buy pizza for the spring breakers in the house, and still scrape together enough money for the next double tuition payment.

Great for delivery - I've never dined in but wow, they do a great pizza. I like their Chicago style best personally. Delivery times vary due to staffing but it is well worth it. Best pizza place in Edwardsville.

3d visit to Joe's pizza. This time I tried something different - stuffed crust pizza. Their stuffed crust is not like the Pizza Hut style - it is more like a pizza with a crust on top and bottom. Awesome pizza! Lots of filling - especially cheese. And - it travels well since it has the crust on top for insulation. Boy, is it ever filling - I ate 2 slices and was done for. I think this might be my new favorite pizza!

Joe's is a quaint little dine-in/carry-out pizza and pasta restaurant on 157 in Edwardsville. I assume that the dine-in portion of their business is relatively small, as I discovered that there were few tables when I walked in. I went here with a friend for a casual weekend lunch. As I have both German blood and a Catholic heritage, I scanned the menu for alcoholic beverage, but I found none. No big deal, but having a beer with a meal makes for a more relaxed, more social experience. I wasn't in the mood for pizza (a rare mood for me to be in), so I ordered the the half portion of cheese tortellini. The prices here are very reasonable; for $7.95, I got a lunch-size portion of pasta, a side salad, and garlic bread. The side salad was decent, and Joe's did not skimp on the veggies that I enjoy in a salad: tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives (both black and green). The service was excellent, but then again, there was no one else in the restaurant. This is not a slight on Joe's. After all, it's mainly a carryout place, and it was mid-afternoon when we arrived. The food was better than I was expecting, with the exception of the garlic bread. Pardon me for waxing philosophic, but it is a long-held belief of mine that the waiting staff should warn you if a food item deviates from what a reasonable person would expect under the circumstances. The garlic bread was coated with a red spice; my guess is that it was paprika. I am a man of varied tastes, never shying away from spicy food, but this was not a good combination, and I was not warned of this situation ahead of time. Three stars for Joe's! They cured my hunger, but they have not distinguished themselves from the many similar restaurants that exist just about everywhere. Also, they need to think twice about their current garlic bread recipe! Perhaps a specialty dish, unique to Joe's and generally unavailable elsewhere, would make a return visit more likely.

Decent selection of pizza and pasta. The best pasta delivery in the area, the pizza however tastes a lot worse cold, eat in or carry out.

This is the newest location for a local chain with a couple other locations throughout southwestern Illinois. They offer a variety of Italian based appetizers, salads, pasta, and pizza. They offer delivery, takeout, or dine in. I've personally only ordered takeout, not being a fan of delivery and the dine in area is very small so I would not advise a group larger then 4 to plan on eating here. I've only ordered from this location twice both times being pizza. A good Chicago style pizza is hard to find around St. Louis, so I decided to try Joe's. First it is not a true Chicago style pizza. It resembles more of a hand tossed pizza with toppings layered between layers of cheese and then topped off with tomato sauce. The cheese and toppings were good, the crust reminds me of Papa Johns and the sauce is very sweet and lacks any depth. I would say it was a decent pizza, but not the Chicago style I was looking for. I ordered a thin crust a few weeks latter to try it out. It was a standard thin crust pizza you get just about anywhere, nothing special. Same too sweet tomato sauce, decent toppings, maybe a little over cooked. Joe's may become an occasional pizza place for me. The price is right, the pizza isn't bad, and the staff was very friendly both times I went into the store. My search for my ideal pizza place around Edwardsville continues.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
