I've been here with friends on a couple of occasions for drinks, bowling, and arcade games. To put it simply, Edison's is way too overpriced. The games are expensive, bowling is expensive, drinks are expensive, and all of it I can do somewhere else right here in town. Maybe it's a different story if you've got a wad of 20's in your pocket and a need to thrill your gaggle of kids. I don't have either of those things, so I won't be trying to get my kicks here.

We had a blast at Edison's! Can't believe I have never played laser tag before, great fun! I also loved the different kinds of skeeball. Followed up with a good dinner and good beer, makes a fun night for kids of all ages.

I'm not sure if its just me, but I just wasn't impressed with Edison's. I grew up in a time when arcades were fantastic worlds of video gaming heaven. Games everywhere, one quarter for the older games, two quarters for the classics, and three for the new games. Ski ball paid out tickets that would get you cheap prizes, but you could walk out of a night at the arcade with at least a decent sized teddy bear or a bag of whoopee cushions and fake barf. All that in mind, walking into a place that touts an "arcade" where a good portion of the games are designed to keep the toddlers happy while the big kids played laser tag, it was disappointing. I took my 2 year old nephew to a whack a mole style game and I swear to God I hit every damned shark that popped up, giving us a score of 43 and walked away with 2 tickets. That's BS folks. B to the S. Other games do pay out better, but this arcade is nothing more than a mix of keep the younger kids busy type money pits and false hope "cut the string for the iPad" or other versions of the "crane" games that one might end up putting $20 into just to get a damned stuffed bear. I didn't have a chance to do the laser tag, so I could be missing quite a bit there. Actually, the kids running around the place did seem to be having a good time. I just cannot figure out why anyone would go there for anything other than the laser tag. Bowling looked like any other bowling alley but for prices that aren't even worth spending. SIUE is just up the road and about half the price. In all, if you have kids, I'm sure Edison's is going to end up on your list of places to go at some point or another, I just would highly encourage you to find a different option. The games are over priced, with very little reward, and the pizza was good but nothing special.

We had a large group for a birthday diner. The birthday boy was especially excited for the all you can eat crab legs. We started receiving our food 45 minutes after we ordered. 1 steak, 1 burger, Mac n cheese all had to be sent back for reheating. The steak came back practically burnt, the Mac n cheese came back soupy, and the burger was great. 2 people ordered all you can eat crab legs, which they finally received an hour after order and sent them back since everyone else was already finished eating. The appetizers were good- wings, fried green beans, onion rings. The manager did apologize and gave us some laser tag and arcade tokens. Whoever the chef is needs to learn how to cook for large groups. The were only 4 tables and at least one other table complaining and sending their food back also.

Came here to just bowl on a crappy day and had a great time. The front desk greeted us nicely and the server was on too of it. I had the lettuce wraps and they were very good. A lot more food than I needed!! The complex itself is clean and staff friendly. A great place to take family, have a birthday party, or a night out with friends! Hope this place does well and stays around for Awhile.

Wow! This is the place to have a birthday party, company party, or just a great time with or without the kids. I was visiting my family and we were looking for something to do that would be fun for the adults as well as my two girls (6 year old and 9 year old). My sister and brother in law said that Edison's is the best place for all of us. First had a great time bowling. Cool lanes, bar service at the lanes ,food service at the lanes, fast and friendly service at the lanes, and huge tv screens to catch up on the game while bowling. The arcade games were a blast stuff for kids and adults. My girls favorite was the laser tag arena so much fun it was a chore to get them to sit down and eat something. Which leads me to the food. The chef has an incredible menu. It's not the typical bar food. The chef created a great menu for any occasion. Pizza, gourmet pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and some great dinner entrées. The staff was nothing less than excellent. If you live in the area and have not been there yet, you need to stop wasting time and go!

Laser tag is fun, dinner/wait staff is understaffed.

My husband, 3 boys, and I visited Edison's in summer 2013 for the first time. He won a gift card for being cavity-free at his dentist. So we went to the restaurant and ate dinner (ok food), played laser tag, and played arcade games. The kids had fun, and it wasn't very crowded on that particular day. I would have given it 4 stars on that day alone (minus a star because it's a money pit). Fast forward to January. When deciding where to have my son's 7th birthday, we looked at many places and finally decided on Edison's. We reserved the Patent package for 15 people and asked to have our party split in half because we have a son with autism who would not do well in the laser tag room (most of the other people wanted to play laser tag). So 10 people were to play laser tag, and 5 people were going to bowl. We had a few snafus once it got close to the time of the party. First, we found out that the advertised time of 1 hour & 45 minutes in the party room is misleading. You do have 1 hour & 45 minutes in the party room, but you also have activities (laser tag and bowling for us) at the same time. We felt this would be very rushed because we were scheduled to bowl from 3-4 PM, with the laser tag people starting at 3:12 PM & 3:36 PM. We had the room from 3-5 PM. This would leave us 1 hour in the room to do pizza, cupcakes, and presents, and from having 14 birthday parties at other venues, we knew this would be very rushed. We also had a family that was coming at 3:45, so they would not be able to join in the activities. After speaking with the manager, they did flip flop our party so that we could bowl from 4-5 PM and laser tag was at 4:12 PM & 4:36 PM, so that group could participate. However, if you book a party, know that 1 hour & 45 minutes in the party room is not accurate. Every other place we have booked has had a set party room time and then you do your activities; I was not a fan of the style used at Edison's. A couple days before the party, we were called to confirm, and we added 2 people onto our final total, for 12 people to play laser tag and 5 to bowl. This was done fairly seamlessly. Now for the day of the party: Pros: 1)We were greeted promptly and allowed to go straight back to our room and get settled. 2)The pizza was delivered within 10 minutes of getting to the room and was delicious (the pizzas are huge, thick crust, and loaded with cheese. Very yummy!) 3)Our conductor served the kids and even made my autistic son a sweet tea (his favorite drink). 4)Everything was set up when we arrived, plates, napkins, cups, gift table, food table, etc. The room was spacious and comfy enough for all of us and looked right out onto the bowling alley (Luminary Room). 5)The cupcakes were delicious! Very moist and some of the best I've had at a birthday party like that. 6)Our conductor wrote down everything that our son got (I was a huge fan of this)! 7)Our conductor was as sweet as could be the whole time. She truly made the process easier for us, and we could tell she was working hard to make sure we had a good time. Cons: 1)We did feel very hurried to get everything in in time. It was 4 PM, and my son still had to open his presents, so I asked if we could forgo part of our bowling time so that I could see him open his gifts. We started bowling at 4:15, but again this was at my request. I knew the guests would want to see him open their gifts and felt that was more important than a few minutes of bowling. That being said, I wish they would give you 1 hour & 15 minutes or 30 minutes in the room and then have you do your activities. It would be much more relaxing that way. 2)I think it would be beneficial to have 2 party conductors for each room: 1 to stay in the room to help and 1 to run and get refills and whatever necessities arise. 3)We didn't pay much attention to the bowling because after a few frames, it was fairly apparently that the lane we were bowling on was uneven. It wasn't a big deal to the adults, but to my autistic son, who hates to lose, having numerous balls go straight into the gutter despite having bumpers up was a huge frustration for him. 4)We ordered Surge cards as an add-on to our party. When we had come before, we did the Eat and Play combo, where if you purchase food, you can get Surge cards for half price. However, we were told you can't do this with a party. I think this should be an option for parties. 5) The arcade games are expensive for what they are, and you don't get a lot of tickets in return. Overall, come for the Eat and Play combo, but skip the birthday parties. My husband and I agreed at the end of the night that it was not worth nearly what we paid for it.

I'm on the fence about Edison's...the reason being is the set up. While I think it's awesome that they can accommodate people of all ages, I think there needs to be a separation of bar area to the entertainment area. With the number of small children running around, it's not unlikely that they've overheard conversations or seen the mannerism of adults drinking. Upon our visit there, I observed a group of younger men being loud and vulgar towards the entrance of the bar which isn't far from the rest of the gaming or bowling area. I was also told by our friend that the bathrooms which are also used by children had vomit from which I assume was an adult having a little too much to drink. Food: while refillable beverages is a plus, I thought the food was lacking. I ordered their version of the sampler and after ordering chicken fingers, the dip, and the potato skins and I think I'll stray away from this next time we go. I'm not sure if our waitress was new or just uninformed/not familiar with the menu. I've worked in the food business for over 8 years and knowing the menu and the size of the portions is key. I'm honest when I say that in every restaurant that I've worked in that I've tried everything on the menu...that way I know how it looks when it comes to the window, how to describe the tastes, and suggesting food to new customers. The potato skins where average, the chicken tenders were not the size anticipated giving the waitresses description, and I was disappointed by the chips and their version of queso dip. The queso dip serving dish was the equivalent of a serving dish that you would get when you asked for a side of ranch and it wasn't even full. You could tell that the dip wasn't heated up to full temp because the top layer had already begun to harden when it came out. The chips were WAY over salted. I mistakenly picked up one that had the underside covered in a layer of salt and was simply inedible, good thing they give you an over sized portion of chips to accompany the small portion of salsa. The food lacked for me. As far as the rest of the establishment it was what you would expect games, laser tag, and bowling. My only complaint was the bowling lanes not being oiled properly. Overall, this is a great place, but I think some adjustments need to be made to accommodate everyone comfortably. During the day this would be a great place to hold a children's birthday party.

Great service in the restaurant, fast and delicious; American food options; veggies on burger were fresh. Then stopped at arcade for games - something for everyone. Tango for dessert - clean, friendly, yummy. Love it - all around a great evening out!

I live in Troy and I had no idea this place was even there!! Once inside I couldn't believe what this place all had in it. It had a really nice bar area with TVs to watch you favorite sports games while having a drink and lots of tables if you would like to sit and grab dinner, they also have a huge arcade area that was all new and up to date. They also have a very nice bowling alley with huge big screens above the lanes to watch your favorite game while you bowl. We were there for a baby shower and the food that was there all tasted good about average but I think the main selling point is all the stuff that you can do there especially if you have kids. This will be a place that we will for sure go back too. Only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is that it was kind of pricey

This mainly concerns the restaurant although our sons did visit the arcade; half price since we had purchased dinner there. There were several minor snafus and a few things that were "off" on the food but overall the service was very good and the food was good with generous portions. In fact we started with 4 and 2 later joined us. But we had so much food left that the 2 who joined us ate our "left-overs (untouched) and had plenty. The appetizer plate was a good suggestion and had some pretty decent food and there was plenty for all. 3 of us had ordered the black bean burgers but unfortunately they were out. So we switched to fish tacos. Good, and the fish was of a type that had a strong fish taste so you knew that your protein was the real deal. The quesadillas were good but a bit salty. Sweet potato fries were good as were the salads. Do you like macaroni and cheese? Well, here they serve Cheese and Macaroni (not a typo); I've never had so much cheese in this dish. At first I thought they had brought out a bowl of queso dip in which a few pieces of pasta had fallen! If you are hungry, head to this place and you'll get your moneys worth. And, you can bowl if you feel well enough to waddle over to the lanes after eating.

Not happy. When I ordered a beer and chips and dip it took 20 min and I still had no chips and dip. Finally I told the waiter to refund my money. 5 more minutes to complete that. The entire time the manager, a short haired blonde females with glasses I could hear explained the entire thing. She never said a word to me. Poor management and organization.

I hosted my son's 13th birthday party at Edison's over the weekend and was not impressed. I didn't even have a "party conductor" assigned to me as discussed in the initial booking, but a server (although she was very sweet) was to take care of 20 kids while serving other people in the building. I think they were understaffed and we were thrown onto this server the last minute. Nothing was organized, several times I had to go to the desk and ask for someone to assist me. My brother ordered food in the restaurant while the kids were bowling and the service for him was terrible, he didn't receive everything he ordered and that server was hard to find as well. The excuse I got from an employee is that their oven is small and a simple "sorry". I had to refill my own soda pitchers for the kids, or rather find someone to refill them for me. I was told that the kids needed to start bowling because we were running out of time, well, if I had a "party conductor" things would have gone as scheduled instead of ME directing activities I knew nothing about. NOT worth the money I spent there and will never go back.

Mini scale Dave and Busters. The kids love the all day laser tag, but my 3 yr old was bored in an hour. The only place the chaperone could sit was at the bar which is awkward if you aren't drinking or eating. It is super expensive so bring your wallet. The game selection is lacking. Most if the games are 1 second ticket games. I do like that they are green in that you don't have to carry around the Chuck E Cheese bucket of paper tickets. Good fun, go broke.

I do not think I would return here unless it was just for the games. We came on a Sunday night, and the service was very much lacking. We were one of only 3 tables and there were 2 different servers so you would think it could have been better. The server to start did not let us know of any specials, we had to ask. He took our order, and we ordered two apps for the table. Two people (of 8) ordered some apps as their meal, and they came out with the others. The appetizer platter was lacking tremendously. It was nothing but a pile of grease. The dip (roasted red pepper and feta was actually really good). Next came out the salad by itself that someone ordered for their meal. She was eating while everyone else was looking at her. We also still had no napkins or anything to eat our food with. I got up to grab it and the other server (not ours) made a comment "I could just roll my own if I needed it that bad" (I guess the three that I could find were part of his side work for the night). When the food came out, the order was wrong (only small details). Two people had the wrong fries and some one got grilled onions instead of grilled mushrooms for their burger (BIG DIFFERENCE). We asked for ketchup and the server said, "it's on the table." Only, it wasn't. I had to look at 5 tables before I could find a bottle of ketchup that even had any in it. After we had finished eating we went to partake in the games. We asked the server what time they closed because we did not want to over stay our welcome. He said they closed at 9 (it was 8:45 at this point). We were just going to go instead of play games, and he said oh don't worry we won't kick you out. We just don't let anyone new in. We took that as a green light. We all went over to load up the swipe cards to play the games and at 9pm on the nose every game turned off. Needless to say I have to go back because I still have $15 worth of games to played, and it will not be by choice.

Visited on a Sunday, barely anything for kids to do unless you want to bowl. Save money for other entertainment places. Service was bad and couldn't find employees anywhere. This is not an entertainment complex but a large bowling alley. Food was cold and when we mentioned this to server we were told "sorry" nothing else. VERY disappointed and will not be returning.

  • David Z.

This place is a joke. My son was actually having a hard time trying to figure out what games to play because the selection isn't that good. Dave and Buster's is ten times better. Be ready to drop some $$ if you go bowling also. I have ate there twice and both times it was terrible food. The good thing is if you eat there, it's never busy! Hmm, wonder why? The only reason why I would return is because it's closer than Dave and Buster's if I want to kill an hour playing games with my son.

Amazing place for kids and adults! If you are with the kiddos they will love the food and have a great time playing games, lazer tag or bowling. On the flip side while with your significant other or on a date; this place does not disappoint with an eclectic menu (mine loves the "all you can eat" crab legs on Wednesday night) that includes interesting pub favorites along with my favorite which is the Pears and Praline Salad with goat cheese! Yum!! The service is excellent across the board however we always request Jeff. He is attentive and personable which makes the value so much more. Kudos to Edison's, Edwardsville needed you!!

Edison's is the place to be for great family fun! The food is great! The service is ALWAYS accommodating and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. I have had the same waiter at least twice (Ben M) - and he is great! Thank you Ben and the rest of the team! See you next time!

The people were very nice however the service in the restaurant was lackuster. It was slow and it seemed unnecessarily so. The buffalo chicken wrap was exceptional but i recommend it with ranch dressing not the blue cheese. The manager was really nice and helpful but again the service seemed slow.

Great birthday parties! Edison's calls the party helper a conductor and Courtney was outstanding! We have four children and have done our share of birthday parties. Edison's takes the extra step, no help needed from the parents. They even write down who gave what on the presents. The place is very clean and the boys did not want to leave. They have a little bit of something for everyone!

    (5)
  • Pam N.

Oh no, they completely changed the menu! I guess because it is a bar and an arcade that the whole menu is almost completely bar food. But they have a big restaurant dining room also that often isn't very busy. I'll bet the restaurant part is going to go away. Anyway, my favorite dishes-the pork kabobs and fish tacos, and Mark's favorite-the reuben are both gone. Bummer.

I'll definitely be back here again. Very trendy bowling alley, laser tag complex, arcade, restaurant, bar, & frozen yogurt shop! There's something for everyone here!

Lettuce was wilted in the salads and our server made no effort to take care of the situation. The fries that came with the meal were all way over cooked and incredibly greasy. I don't think I'll ever eat here again. Not a pleasant dining experience

Fun for the family, if you don't eat Good Laser tag, bowling, and video games. The kids had a blast. The service in the restaurant was slooooowwww. The chips were so stale I sent them back. The tortillas were also stale. The mahi was cold. So were the potato skins. Also they were dry. The sour cream had a funny taste. In a nearly empty restaurant, our food for a table of 3 took 25 minutes at least. I'm guessing most of it was made right away based on the temp and the rest came much later. Fortunately my daughter's chicken strips and fries were hot. Although, she was so biliary playing, she didn't notice.

Great place. Good drinks, good food, and my son loves it. They do a great job on putting together the birthday parties. We just had my sons party there and every one including the parents had a great time. if you need to book a party this is the place to do it. Ask for chad he will get it right the first time with no worries, and tell him Larry from Broadway Ford sent you.

I had some friends in town for the weekend and we went to Edison's to hang out on the patio. It just so happened to be my friends birthday that night. When he asked if they had any birthday specials he about fell out of his chair when the server told him he got a free steak dinner! Definitely one of the cooler places in Edwardsville to hang out with friends and an awesome birthday steak special. I would highly recommend Edison's for lunch, dinner, and for having fun with your kids!

Came here for my 21st birthday and come back a couple times a month ever since. We always sit at the bar. Tuesday nights we come in for trivia, which we always have fun with. Thursday's they have $3 long islands and $.50 wings. I've always had a great experience here. This is also one of my boyfriend's favorite places, as this is one of the few bars in town that stocks bitters, so he can order what I like to call his "fancy, old man drinks" like Manhattans and Old Fashions. Although I do agree with previous reviewers that there should be a little bit more of a separation from the bar and the entertainment area. There's just something about a bar full of adults, loud and vulgar, and looking over to see a kid at the bar ordering a pepsi.

  • Jim B.

Ordered 1 appetizer and 4 entries. Everything was horrible!! Over salted, greasy, luke warm and they were not busy. I could be more specific on what we order and what was wrong but it doesn't matter...everything sucked!! 1 star because the beer was cold. I'm not that picky but was amazed that every item we order had issues!!! I like to support local restaurants but will spend my money elsewhere and wouldn't go back even if it was for free.

A group of us met for a friend's birthday and we had a great time! We made a reservation for the dinner part, as there was 12 of us and our tables were ready immediately. Our server was upbeat and very attentive. The specials were amazing - you can't beat $5 Malibu buckets. We ordered our appetizers, and food and it all arrived within a reasonable time. From there we went over to the bowling alley. Just a hint, if you order a soda in the restaurant part, you can continue to get refills while playing the games. Just ask your attendant at the alley part, they kept them coming. The cost to play is $10 an hour, per person, which is high and fair warning, if you aren't done with your game within that hour, they will end it without you finishing it. But its automatic lanes, so if you need bumpers, they will come up on the person who needs them, not for the entire time, which is nice.

Kids had a lot of fun for a nice deal. Food was the most expensive part of the day. Nachos and 2 soft drinks were just over $25 while bowling. Was really crowded earlier in the day, but things out after 2 pm.

We visited Edison's for the first time a few weeks ago. We had a great experience with the arcade! Everyone was nice and helpful when one of the games quit working. This is the reason for the 4 rating. However, not impressed with the food. We order wings (which were good), pizza & pretzels. The pizza didn't have much flavor and was pretty bland and the pretzels were just okay. I'm sure we'll go back!

Had my fiancé's 25th birthday party here. Service was GREAT. Had the reuben & sweet potato fries delicious. Food & alcohol were reasonably priced. Suggest the 312 draft beer it's $2 & get the glass.
