Great Pizza, Great service! Do not order Pizza from anywhere else. This place prepares the best Pizza in the whole Countryside/ Lagrange area. Once you taste their Pizza, I bet you will not eat Pizza from other places. Not only Pizza, all their dishes are excellent in taste.

We used to order from here at least twice a week. Their food used to be really good, but the last 3 or 4 times we have ordered, it has been disgusting. And last night it sank to an all time low. My fiance ordered the bbq chicken dinner, it tasted terrible and he spent the night in the bathroom. We think he might have gotten a touch of food poisoning. I have tried their food for the last time and will be throwing out their menus. If you want good italian food in the area, try Nonno's. The pizza is good, the sandwiches are good and the hand cut fries are awesome!

I am very disappointed in this restaurant. I have been going there for several years, alone and with groups from work. they are charging more for a pizza than the menu said. for a 12.95 pizza they are charging 13.30. their costs have gone up and they can't afford new menus I have been told. when I asked for a itemized receipt the owner tapped out a run on a adding machine. this is how they run the business.i will not be going back.

The pizza is not good at all. It's similar to pizza I had while on vacation in Florida. I'm from the south side and expect better than this.

It looks like the place locals stop in to pick-up dinner on a busy night. It's not worth leaving the city for but the staff was pleasant. They had an old arcade that was unplugged; total waste!

I found this location on Yelp, and was skeptical, considering a number of negative reviews. After my first visit, I then questioned the validity of Yelp reviews. This is not the first time I have read negative reviews, only to visit the establishment and have a pleasant experience. Why would you complain about not getting an itemized receipt? I don't know of many pizza establishments that give you an itemized receipt. So someone going out of their way to "tap out" your entire bill, sounds like they went above and beyond, even if it wasn't in your desired format. I should mention that menus all read current pricing. I have had everything from pizza slices, chicken vesuvio, and homemade chicken soup. The pizza was hot and fresh, the chicken vesuvio was exceptional! They also have a gaming room... Not an arcade as someone else had mentioned, but a full blown video slot room! I'm surprised more people aren't playing the slots, since Betty's, across the street is always full. You actually have to wait to sit at a machine at Betty's. If you want good food, an wouldn't mind passing the time with a cold one, glass of wine, and some video slots, Barones is worth a visit.

Service is fair at best. Takes forever to get a pizza while I watch a dozen other people get their food. The music stinks & the 5 TVs with 5 stations just showing random programs isn't entertaining.

So I just payed $24.30 for a mostaciolli & chicken Alfredo pasta dinners. I complained about the price and left kinda upset. I came home and after the first bite I fell in LOVE!!!! Our dinner is so delicious and I can tell you it was worth every penny!!!! We Will continue to support our local Barones Pizza!

We dined in and waited over an hour to have our thin crust pizza delivered. Over priced for the quality that we received, might as well get the Gino's east/digiorno's frozen pizza and save $/time. Overall it was a "blah" evening, I really wish this place could be better since we live so close to this place. Even the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there.

I used to stop in for a slice on my lunch break and used to order from the original in La Grange Park back in the day. The pizza is OK. It's not terrible, but nothing really stands out. Their thin crust is a little bit thicker than your normal thin crust and it's chewy. The dining room is usually quiet and empty when I would stop in.

I was going to go to Quiznos because my daughter was playing tennis at the Score tennis club next-door but thought I would patronize a local business... I did not read any of these reviews before I went there. Let's just say, I will never go back... How could you mess up a meatball sandwich and a slice of pizza... They did! It was not the worst I have ever had in the world but it is on par with a tombstone pizza and frozen meatballs from Trader Joe's.

  • Slick D.

Love the sausage and pepperoni! Also love the full black olives as well! Stuffed pizza could use just a tad more sauce and cheese, but overall is pretty darn good still.

  • Mike M.

We went in at dinner time and ordered slices of pizza. We were the only patrons which I thought was odd, after trying the pizzas we figured out why... The lady at the counter seemed annoyed that we walked in, as if we were a nuisance. The crust was like stale flavorless bread, the sauce was minimal and bland, and the cheese was hard and dry. My friend said it tasted the it was made with ingredients purchased at Aldi. Note: I'm not knocking Aldi, but I think a local pizza joint should have a good family recipe or at least a good tasting pizza. The price was reasonable for a slice of pizza, but for about the same price you can get really good food at Cassianis.

When asked by someone at work tonight what pizza place to order from I suggested Barone's. They were not familiar with it, and wanted Ledo's. After I made my dislike of Ledo's known, he listened and was rewarded with an excellent pizza delivered before the quoted time. The amount of meat was tremendous and delicious. The pepperoni was hand-cut with a knife, something I can't say I've seen before Forget Ledo's, forget Lou's. Think Barone's

This is the Real Barone's......anyone who grew up in the area remembers Mama Barone's in La Grange Park on Maple.......this is one of Her Son Nick's restaurant's and is Still Family owned and has Great Pasta's and Pizza !.....

I work across the street from this location. The girls I work with and I ordered food and one of the girls ordered chicken and it was pink! Not a crazy big deal since it is a cross the street but this is the 3rd time someone has ordered something with chicken and it was pink! I understand accidents happen but 3 times! My recommendation would be not to order anything with chicken but if you do check it before eating!

i've only ever gotten pizza here, but it is tasty! thin crust so so but we always get the pan (i think, i always get mixed up between pan and deep dish at this joint). but the pan pizza is very good and affordable. if you live in the area it is a nice place close by.

My family ordered 90$ of pizza for a family Christmas party. We found a metal bolt in our pizza. Called Barone's to complain and all they could do was offer us 20$. I'm sorry but that is horrible customer service. We find metal in your food and they see giving us 20$ as being a good compensation. Never ordering from there again.

We came here with a group of 20+ and it's fabulous! Gluten free pizza crust drew us here but we all ordered something different and 5 stars all around! Delicious! Giant portions! Friendly staff! The server asked if I would like the rest of my food to go and she added extra sauce AND gave me extra silverware! (We're in a hotel so it was very thoughtful!)

Being a La Grange transplant who grew up on the original Home Run Inn (31st and Pulaski, before the gentrification and commercialization), I was always looking for another go-to pizza joint in the area. Barones is different than HRI, but a very respectable and delicious alternative. TIP: if you like your cheese a little more on the brown side, mention it when you make your order. Speedy delivery, good food - one of our family favorites.

Would have loved to actually rate based on their food, alas, NOT! Waitresses were outside having a ciggy as we went in followed by 2 other sets of diners. They proceeded to serve BOTH other tables and ignored us completely. No eye contact, no 'have you been served yet' NOTHING! After 10-15 minutes we upped and left. A busy Friday night elsewhere, and they couldn't deal with 3 tables? seriously! Your game room had more activity! We went to Ledos where a wait is at least merited and they can handle more than just 2 tables. Owners may want to step it up with their staff if they want foot traffic, let a lone keep it!

I wish I'd read Barry's review before I visited. I called at 11:35 to order an Eggplant Parm Sandwich, Chicken Parm on Garlic, and a Gyro. i was told 15 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant at about 11:45 - after paying my food didn't come out until 12:08, so waiting does seem to be a problem with sandwiches. The staff seemed annoyed when I asked about the delay - a lot of people got served while I was waiting. So, how was the food? First of all, they got the order wrong - I got an Eggplant Parm on Garlic, and the Chicken Parm sandwich was just a grilled chicken breast on the bread without the Parm toppings. The Gyros was as ordered. The Eggplant Parm sandwich was actually quite good (except for being on garlic bread). The Chicken sandwich wasn't good - when you expect a cheezy parm sandwich and get one without, it's disappointing. The Gyros isn't from a spit - it's the pre-packaged stuff - OK, but not authentic. It seems other reviewers like the pizza, but I didn't have a good experience with the sandwiches.

Must have new owners! Used to be fabulous, gave it a second chance after a bad experience and it was just as horrible, if not worse! The mushrooms were like rubber bands the crust was like cardboard. They treat customers like dirt! What a disappointment, because we truly used to love this place. Run like the wind away from here!

    (1)
  • Greg S.

Ordered a gyros, cheese sticks, and a large soda. The gyros was by far the worst I' be ever had. The large pop was really a small and the cheese sticks were about half the size as normal. Paid 13.50 for the worst lunch. Stay away!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
