my girls have fallen in love with their cotton candy confetti ice cream. Nice little family run shop with Shermans Ice cream and a small selection of candy also. The grill out hot dogs and what not on Saturdays but we just go for Ice cream!!! Wish they took credit cards as I have forgotten cash more than once in my suit after changing from work.
Delicious ice cream! And you don't need more than a single scoop. The girls working were super helpful and even let us have a couple samples to help us make up our minds :)
Came here after dinner from the Mexican restaurant across the street. Very cute little shop! There were plenty of different flavors to choose from. The two girls behind the counter were complete dolls and very friendly and knowledgeable. My friend just moved into an apartment down the street, so I know we will definitely be back here in the summer.

Honestly the best coffee shop around! Amazing coffee and the chocolate donut is by far the most enjoyable donut in the northern hemisphere!!!
Went back to Quinn's the other day and the lady at the counter could not have been nicer. Very helpful and chatted up everyone in line. Nice to see...I know Quinn's has a following and everyone seems to know each other. Unfortunately, we don't live in CH or we would be there more often. The chocolate donuts are still delicious @$2.50 each.
Love Quinn's! Absolutely cannot find a better place to have coffee in the western burbs! The Quinn Family makes each and every customer that comes through their door feel welcome...can't get that at most coffee shops

Took my girlfriend yesterday for her birthday and we absolutely loved it. I made reservations with the OpenTable app and added it was her birthday dinner and from the time I checked us in everybody was wishing her a happy birthday. We were seated at a private table with beautiful drapes all around us and our server Michelle went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dinner. When she brought our desert she began singing happy birthday to my girlfriend as I joined in and it was a very private and special moment. Our first time here and I promise it won't be our last!!!!
Absolutely delicious! Seated very quickly (though you probably want to make reservation if it is Friday or Saturday). Meal started w/ amazing garlic rolls and the salad we ordered was fresh (the wedge salad was so good!). Portions are on the larger size and selection of desserts is excellent! Highly recommend!!!
Food was good but service was lacking. Ambiance is meh. The waitress asked if we wanted coffee or dessert before we even received our soup and salad. I'll chalk that up to a busy night. The grilled calamari was unique, the chili flake flavor really comes through. Ravioli Siciliano was good, the sage butter elevated it from just another boring pasta dish. The simply seared whitefish is exactly as described, but borderline dry.

The Country House

241 55th St

Reviews:
The Country House hangs its hat on its much lauded burger, and I can see why. The 1/2 pound cooked-to-order beef patty is juicy and perfectly sized for a hungry customer. The recent addition of a stoplight at the Country House intersection on 55th street should make it a little easier to access. The parking lot is a good size, yet it fills up during busy lunch and dinner service, speaking to its popularity. I've eaten here a few times, and since I moved a bit closer to the restaurant, I thought I'd give their takeout service a try twice over as many weeks. I ordered the burger each time (medium), and by the time I brought it home--less than five minutes later, it was still nice and hot. They offer your choice of grilled or raw onions, and the burger is offered with tomato slices and a leaf of romaine to top it off (no ketchup or mustard for a take out order). A generously sized dill pickle spear is provided. You're offered your choice of steak fries, potato salad or onion rings. I tried the fries and rings on my two most recent visits. There were a couple of problems in these two orders which lowered my rating to 3 stars. On my first visit, the beef had a funkiness to it which seemed to indicate that it had turned the corner from fresh. I thought it might be my imagination, so I gave them another shot a week later. On this instance, the burger itself was excellent, but the onion rings were room temperature when I ate them under 5 minutes after taking my order home. I was a little nervous about them -- I had a view into the kitchen from where I was standing, and the onion rings had been placed on the foam take out box four or five minutes prior to the burger being added to complete my order. In fairness, I'd rather that my main course be hot and the side cold than vice-versa, but they should be able to time it so that both hit the plate at about the same time. I will give the Country House another chance to win me over, but for now, 3/5 is the best I can do. When all cylinders are hitting, this place is great. Their inconsistency is a drawback, though.
I've been here a few times, and the food is always on point. As other people have mentioned, I've had some small issues with waiting for a table, but I'm pretty used to it with most places. I don't see it as a big deal. There's usually a good environment with patrons, which is one reason I really like this place. They also support a number of local causes. I got a $10 gift-certificate here from a local middle school. If you're thinking about dining here, I highly recommend checking out the store at goboostershot.com . You can get a $10 gift-certificate while supporting a great local cause. It's definitely a win-win situation.
Why isn't Country House closer to me? I live in the city, but if I am going to be anywhere near Country House I make it a point to have lunch there. Their half pound burgers and reubens are the best I have had anywhere. When you ask for medium, you get medium. The onion rings are great. Prices are reasonable. It's supposed to be haunted. They usually have a tasty sounding dessert, today was banana chocolate chip cake, but I never leave enough room.

I was here for dinner with a few friends a couple nights ago, and we had a great time! I had the shrimp tempura crunch and crunch dragon rolls, which were amazing. I love crunchy foods, so this one was definitely a win for me! Also loved that they didn't skimp on the shrimp -what can I say, girl's gotta eat. A few of my friends ordered the sashimi; I'm not sure what they got, but it looked really fresh and a very reasonable portion, and they definitely looked (and sounded) like they enjoyed it! Will be back if I'm in the area, and I would say that the prices are definitely not in the $$$ range, despite what Yelp says! Definitely more like $$, and pretty good for sushi!
Came here to meet my brother for dinner. The decor is nice and the pricing is similar to what you would find at other all you can eat sushi places in the city for dinner. On the southside, there aren't any places as most just have a lunch option. There is a variety of items you can order from the menu. They messed up our order a few times-- bringing out items we didn't order and not bringing items we did order. It was a little annoying since we weren't sure if the food was going to come out or not. The staff is very friendly and the pricing is reasonable. My husband ordered some nigiri and some of the pieces served to him were still frozen. The rice is not seasoned and the pieces of fish were small. Probably would not be coming back here in the future.
I am so stuffed after eating here, that I'm not sure if I can even write a decent review of this place. However, I am writing one now in case I forget. First of all, the chef/sushi master and the waitress were very nice and polite with me. They were courteous and gave me excellent service. They made my visit to the restaurant very pleasant and comfortable. Thank you!! I had the AYCE All You Can Eat sushi for dinner. I must say that the portions are very generous as well as very tasty. The fish was very fresh and tasty, along with the other ingredients. There is a huge choice of what you can order in the AYCE menu. I was full so quickly. The restaurant had nice decor and atmosphere. I'm just surprised that it was a bit empty, but I got to enjoy my meal in quiet. This is truly a hidden gem. Good, high quality AYCE sushi for a good price. Go check it out when you can. I highly recommend it. They are open late. Btw the fountain soda tastes really good also.

This Tavern is a classic American roadhouse. It's got great drink selections, great people, great food like really good bar food and really good entertainment on the weekends! It's a little bit like you stepped back in time to the 80s where everybody was unpretentious and just smiled and had a good time together. I will be returning here many times! I hope to see you there as well!
This is a great place to meet up with friends! Been alittle while since I've been there, but plan to get back there soon. I also happen to share it's name! Hope to see y'all there soon!
Maybe I'll give them a better review when they fix the crumbling cement dangerous stairs in the entryway, and the rotting mushy wooden floorboards in the entryway.....

Food is less than mediocre. Service was terrible on night I went with four people. Waited 20 minutes for bread and initial round of drinks. Waited for half hour for check. Finally had to stand up and put coats on before check arrived. Major attitude from manager/owner. Will never return.
Romantic Delicious and perfect for sit Dow dinner or just to sit at bar for drinks salad an appetizer.
My wife and I ate at ZAZa's with another couple on 4/25/15. They added another table's $80 bill on to our tab. The owner agreed to credit our credit card for the "mistake". A week later we had to visit the restaurant in person to get the credit as he had not processed the credit as promised. We had been loyal customers of 10+ years. We will never return.

We enjoy eating three appetizers: taquitos de jicama, empanaditas, and sopes. Our dinner: pork and manchamanteles mole, gourmet style, beautiful dish that surprised us, unexpected flavor. Service very attentive. All delicious!!!
I came here a few weeks ago with my family on a Saturday night. We tried making a reservation for 7pm but we're told they only had an 8. Ok fine. 8 it is. We arrived early to get a drink and wait until we were seated yet when we arrived the place was half empty and we were seated immediately. Ok weird. Our server was good. Very polite and attentive without being obnoxious. I ordered 3 tacos and ended up not caring for one of them. Everyone else at the table seemed to really enjoy their food and the guac/salsa we had as well. Overall I thought this place was pretty good and would give it 3.5 stars.
While the food and atmosphere was good, we had an experience with the owner that will keep us from ever returning. We were a party of 4. We ordered a bottle of $35 wine. The server came back and said that they were out of our chosen bottle, recommended another wine and said he would 'make a deal' with us. When the check came, the $35 wine turned into a $75 wine. We politely protested and he brought out the owner, which is where the problem escalated. The owner was condescending and rude. She agreed to reduce the cost from $75 to $52, stating that $52 was her cost. (I do not know of a restaurant that only marks wine up by 50%...) When we explained that $52 was still unreasonable, and that we expected to be charged $35 for whatever the server recommended, she threw the server under the bus and tried to guilt us into paying more by saying "do you think it's fair for the server to have to pay the difference". We suggested that that was between her and her server and had nothing to do with the fact that we were dissatisfied. This episode occurred in the middle of the restaurant at about 8pm on a Friday night. It was very uncomfortable. We have never been in a situation where a restaurant owner did not make things right. Our total check was about $140, so there was ample room for the owner to make an adjustment. In the end, we had no choice but to pay the additional $17. Unfortunately, the server ended up on the short end of the stick because his tip was reduced to account for the overcharged wine. I routinely treat servers well (having one in the family) and tip a minimum of 20%. The owner was very short sighted. She just lost 4 first time customers for life. This is unfortunate because we were very happy with the restaurant until this incident occurred.
